Happened upon this lovely little spot whilst down at the end of the East Quay. Had the grilled whole Mackerel which was bursting with flavour from the bbq and the additions of the pepperonta and aioli. And the bbq potatoes weren’t half bad either. Partner had the hot dog which was also enjoyable and we will definitely be back again to sample some of the other dishes….and for a coffee.

We stumbled upon this little place, Flo & Joe's . It's at the opposite end of the front to the shops where the fishermen huts ect are. The new owners said they've been their 6 weeks. As you can see the view is beautiful. Apparently they do bacon butties in the BBQ on weekend mornings. Then they do a limited menu on the BBQ in afternoons, until 3pm. The burger & the crab roll were both delicious. (I agree they were expensive) They had lobster on to. The coffee was really good. It was a lovely hidden gem 😊

Outstandingly good coffee and cake! Possibly the best flat white that’s passed my lips! And the lemon drizzle was light and zingy - total delight! Unique spot by the estuary with a great brunch menu too. Not to be missed!

Nice spot and seating area. Drinks only served in polystyrene cups and no bathroom facilities so it’s really just a little take away hatch with seating outside but did the job.

Disappointing. No prices on menu - not end of the world, but lack of transparency was poor. Everything was quite expensive. When we asked for tap water we were refused it and told we had to buy their water…. they are a licensed premises and are legally obliged to provide it, but they did not / would not. That alone has put me off going again

This is a lovely wine shop/bar, a much needed establishment in Wells. We had drinks on Friday and Saturday night, but were then disappointed to find that for the remainder of our stay, the evening wine bar was closed. The selection of wine was very good and the wines we had were excellent. The atmosphere sitting out in the sunshine was lovely, just a shame we couldn't enjoy a few more nights there. It would be great if you could list your evening opening times. If you get a chance, definitely worth a visit.

This wine bar is a new extension to an existing cafe, so we popped in to check it out. Too many wines for me to chose from but the owners are very knowledgable and made a recommendation after asking what I normally like. Great, welcoming service. Tip: don’t be put off by wines you might not have heard of, ask for a recommendation, you won’t be disappointed.

This is one to miss. So disappointed with this establishment. The ordering the lady was abrupt to say the least. The tables we dirty, the place needed sweeping as there was rubbish/debris all over the floor. No table service, you had to order and collect you the drinks yourself, when they arrive - plastic cups for drinks. Asked for free tap water (as is required in licensed premises by law) and was told that the filter was not working, then got charged for a can of water - err no !! Clear the tables yourself in rubbish bins, so good for the environment, not !

Have been coming here for the perfect flat white, served with a smile, for years when on holiday in Wells. Was so excited to see that they have now branched out to wine as well. Would highly recommend. The wine bar is cosy and tasteful and the couple who run it are really friendly and knowledgeable.

A bit 'meh'. £8.75 for a cocktail served in a single use plastic cup. Not terribly good for the planet or the purse strings! Looks quite quirky as you approach, which made us decide to give it a try, but kinda tired looking up close. Picnic benches, no toilets (that I could see, as you couldn't go into the actual building). Self service hatch, bit like queing for your school dinner, you are then called out by name 'Costa-style' to collect your drinks from another hatch. You're asked to clear your own table and put your empty plastic cups in the bins by the serving hatch, which makes for an entertaining game of 'Dodge The Wasp' for anyone collecting their drinks. Shan't rush back.

Seems to be either owned or managed by rude and arrogant people. There with my aged border collie who needed shade from the hot sun today. Sheltering under a table while the cafe was closed we were rudely asked to leave because we posed a risk to breakage of a plastic , yes PLASTIC chain around the outdoor seating area worth £150. Explained to the 'manager' that my dog needed shade while my wife spent money in a shop next door. " Please leave my property, and take your dog away' was the response. My response was that "I thought the place looked nice, as it does, but because of the rudeness I would not come back" The reply.. "You would not be welcome if you did". Such rude arrogance. I am not the only one, check the other reviews and you will see there is a common thread. 20m down the lane there is a superb coffee shop with polite staff and a nice seating area in the sun. Go there !!

We recently visited Flo & Joes Cafe and despite the friendly reception, I was left astounded by the price I had to pay for two pies, a sausage roll and two cans of Diet Coke… £23.50!! The pies alone were £6.95 each, with no side salad/chips etc. Yes, the food was tasty but the items are so overpriced, it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth (excuse the pun)! For this reason, we wouldn’t return, which is a shame because it’s a well positioned, nice cafe in the heart of the high street. However, charging customers such high prices for items that you can get a lot cheaper at other cafes/shops etc is a bit of an insult! I hope this review is used constructively as consumer feedback and not seen as a slagging off! The simple solution would be to knock a £1 off the items and you would retain more customers.

There were no prices on the food menu. The menu was small and only serving snacks so you assume it’s not going to be extortionate. I ordered a crab, smoked salmon and asparagus tart and a Norfolk pastie (whatever that is) for my husband! I ordered from a hatch and couldn’t not see anything before I bought. I asked for take-away. The food was served, the girl was lovely, remembered my name and then the bill - £13.75. When we got to a spot to eat the tart was a piece of quiche (straight from the fridge) so no flavour, and no crab or asparagus either - there was a tiny piece of smoked salmon sat on top - like a decoration . I asked my husband what was in his pastie and his reply “felix, or maybe whiskers” My mistake - never buy without seeing the food and never assume a price - avoid anywhere not displaying their costs. I actually feel more annoyed that the could sell a disgusting, flabby piece of quiche and describe it as a Fish tart - big difference - especially when it doesn’t actually have the ingredients it states. Trades description? Who owns this place it’s an absolute joke?!

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.

Sadly the food didn’t match the lovely welcoming service. Sunday lunch was expensive - £20 for a trio of roasts. The veg was odd - leeks and carrot with some very hard brocolli. Overcooked roast potatoes and parsnips. Potential to be a nice Sunday lunch but needs a fair bit of work. £20 is a lot for a toast but this place really cannot justify the price, sorry 😔

Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.
