Fancied a nice coffee and this place didn't disappoint. We had a lovely latte, with banana bread and croissant with jam. Couldn't fault anything. Friendly helpful staff. So if you fancy a half hour sit down with a nice coffee and pastry please try here.

Small cafe with benches plus tables. We both had a generous pot of tea, and pastries, one bostock and the other vegan cocoa banana bread - bother very enjoyable, friendly staff, not the cheapest but ok for the city centre.

I thought I would share my terrible experience at the shop on Bond street here. Please note that I am coeliac, and have had coffee from your place before without having any gluten reaction. On saturday 15th july around 12pm, i visited your Bond st shop with 2 other friends. We all ordered coffee, mine a flat white with cow's milk as I always say that. After about 5 minutes, one member of staff handed me my flat white, which I started drinking whilst waiting for my friends to get their drinks. After a while, a member of staff- blonde with a ponytail- started shouting that I had taken someone else's drink, which I had not as it was handed to me. That person - who seemed to have no idea what gluten or coeliac meant, was beyond rude, aggressive and unapologetic. Shouting at customers? Out of order. To top it all, she then said my drink had oat milk in it. At that moment, I informed your staff that I was coeliac and would therefore react really badly to my ingesting the gluten. Nobody seemed to know what to do or say. Absolutely shocking. One member of staff was asking me what she could do and was lovely but the rest, especially the blonde girl who was making drinks was super rude. Furthermore that incident could have been lethal to somebody with a severe gluten allergy.

This is my favourite cafe in Brighton! The food is inventive and delicious although it can run out on busy days. But then there's always the very delicious cakes and biscuits. Lots of yummy little cakes as well as huge gateaux, catering to your appetite at the time. And it's all reasonably priced. The young staff are always lovely, efficient, friendly and professional, including when the place is very busy ie at the weekend. They also sell very good bread and pastries.

Visited Brighton today, unfortunately decided to buy a ‘sourdough’ white loaf from Flint Owl Bakery Crust tasted of chemicals and the bread was hardly sourdough. We will not be back

It's a brilliant position with small tables under the tree outside, the decor, etc, is lovely and the tarts and salads are delicious. But they are incredibly inflexible. You can have a tart or a salad - both at full price. But you can't have a tart with a little salad on the side. It's expensive as it is but the rigidness of this rule is just irritating. Was it an edit from Head Office???

One can expect to pay a little more at a Flint Owl - and their goods are ordinarily worth it (as a little treat, that is). However, what one shouldn’t be exposed to when paying £4.75 for a loaf of bread is rudeness. An inexplicably rude staff, and an experience that has put this regular customer off for a good while yet. What a shame, but customer service matters.
