We visited this 'café' for lunch today and really wish we'd read some of the reviews before going. Upon entering we encountered miserable looking staff when requesting a table. We were pointed to a table inside which was filthy and hadn't been cleared or cleaned after the previous diners left. We asked for the table to be cleaned and were met with a huff and bad attitude. The server sprayed some cleaning fluid on the table which went into my drink and over my shirt; she then half-heartedly wiped the table. We ordered three meals and 3 drinks which came to almost £50 - expensive if it had been any good, but a shocking rip-off given what we received. The breakfast was sent straight back without even tasting it. It had clearly been cooked some time ago (I doubt it was today) and warmed up. The mushrooms were revolting looking - dry and hard. The bacon would have been better used as shoe leather rather than offered as edible food. The 'fried' egg was rubbery and blistered, resembling something you might buy for a prank from a joke shop. The beans were congealed and had a nasty looking film over them. The sausage was difficult to cut into and the inside was grey and unappetising. The only thing on the plate which appeared remotely acceptable was the butter for the cold, rock-hard toast, only because it was foil-wrapped. The 'special' toastie was dire. Despite the almost 45-minute wait for our food the cook hadn't found the time or inclination to make sure the cheese was melted. The ham was cheap and low-grade. The burger was equally grim - dry, tasteless and depressing. The accompanying chips with 2 of the meals were hard and some of them were cold, much like the hash browns. I rejected 2 of the meals, neither of which were eaten. Only half the burger was consumed by our determined hungry teenager, who surrendered in the face of adversity. I complained and received a refund of less than half the total cost of the meal. The staff didn't appear to be surprised at the rejection of their substandard culinary efforts, nor bothered about it. Looking around the place the floor was filthy and numerous plates were left by other diners with plenty of food remaining on uncleared tables. The location is great, but the café is an embarrassing disaster. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he robbed vis victims. I cannot stress this strongly enough - avoid this dump at all costs. you have been warned!

There are few cafes in the UK that offer such a lovely setting as The Flight Deck but sadly our latest visit was spoilt by having to wait fifty minutes for two club sandwiches accompanied by two small plates of half cold fat laden chips. Total cost of both with two coffees and three cans of soft drinks came to over £40! To the credit of one waitress, she alone kept reassuring us that the food was on its way having first told us it would be thirty minutes. The cafe was busy being lunchtime but only half full. The Flight Deck is well known for not wanting to compromise quality over delivery time, but on this occasion fell down on both.

I have visited a number of cafes and restaurants recently and without doubt this is one of the best in terms of quality and how they are managing with Covid-19. The food has always been good here but today I was again pleasantly surprised when I tried something different, the Coronation Chicken sandwich. The granary bread was excellent and the filling was amazing, a lovely variation on the traditional Coronation Chicken.I hadn't booked a table, but they were able to seat me outside which was perfect. The track and trace along with the menu is done through scanning the code on the table with your Smartphone. I found it really simple and easy to do. This might be an issue if you don't have a Smartphone or one that can scan the code, but I imagine they have a manual way of managing that situation. Overall a lovely place to have lunch and a really neat way of handling the Covid requirements.

Didn't book as didn't say anywhere online that we had to for an outside table. Some tables were reserved which is fine but there were plenty free.. We were told we had to sit inside for distancing reasons. We accepted it as a table of 6 (4 kids) but it ruined the visit because we'd taken the kids to see the planes and it was very hot inside. There were 3 empty tables tucked to the side outside and we asked if we could use them, we were told no because its max 3 to a table yet there was another table of 6 adults outside. Just seemed like they were being awkward! We'd have been more out of the way tucked out there! Coffee was nice (not going to pay £1 for a shot of syrup though, that's a silly amount) and took a picnic to sit on the grass after the cafe so not a wasted trip out.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and you can even buy them a doggie breakfast. Sandwiches, toasties, burgers, cakes etc. Lovely choice though and all fresh. Our sandwiches and cakes were delicious. Slightly more expensive than your average cafe but understandable. I have visited on a couple of occassions over the last number of weeks. I have not ordered anything to eat on either occassion. The main reason is that unfortuantely /fortunately I selected a table which had a view into the kitchen and I was quiet perturbed with what I saw. The lady who was cooking/prepping/serving the tables did not have a hair net nor had her hair tied back- it was shoulder length & swinging around "loosely". She also had "open wounds" on the back of her hands which were not covered with "BLUE PLASTERS" and so it was sufficiently off putting for me not to place an order for food. My partner requested a Toastie and a Pot of Tea. The mug for the Tea had to be returned 3 times as it was dirty/had a film inside etc. The dish washer obviously needed to have some rinse aid added or some diligent staff to realise the mugs were being presented dirty. Service was very slow 1 person serving during a busy lunch hour period. I also understand that the Restaurant is a dog friendly environment but on our second visit the dogs owners were not in control and the dogs were quiet lively as one passed them. From my observations on my recent visits I am at a loss as to how this cafe meritied the * rating that it achieved. My parting memory is of loose hair swishing round in the kitchen and open wounds not covered with blue plasters!! Shame as its such a lovely venue.

Last weekend, a beautiful late Summer Saturday, some friends and I decided to cycle over to the Flight Deck for coffee and cake.Lovely ride over to a cafe with a view. Fantastic view of the Aerodrome and runway from this very shiney and new cafe (cyclists are asked to remove shoes so as not to scratch the flooring with their cleats, fair enough). Dogs allowed, with towels by the door to wipe dirty paws, good idea. The coffee was average (allegedly Lavazza, I drink this at home and Im sure it has more taste than the one I had here) and very pricey, £3 for Cappuccino. Good selection of cakes but again small portions, my cake was a bit dry and pricey, a brownie was nearly £4.Varied lunch and snack menu but can't comment on quality as I didn't partake, lots of customers did and seemed to be enjoying them.My initial impression is that its a super venue, needs a bit more attention to the decor as it looks and feels little like a staff cafe in a corporate setting not a cafe that Biggles and his chums would have enjoyed. It's serving a quality cafe menu but at near restaurant prices which may put off value for money hunters like me. Will probably go again but will only have one coffee instead of the two I might have had if they were more reasonably priced.

I thought I would try out this new cafe/restaurant because it sounded quite interesting and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. While the prices are not the cheapest around, the food is of a good quality and very well presented. For a building that is reminiscent of a standard office block, the atmosphere is remarkably good and the view of the take off/landing strip is excellent. Be warned. It can get busy at lunch times. Even though it's on the first floor, it's dog friendly. You can dine on the outside balcony if the weather permits. I visited twice, having a burger with blue cheese the first time and the chilli beef nachos the second. I enjoyed both.

After we queued for nearly 15 minutes to place an order we were then told there was no milk or avocados. As a veggie, i was then limited to scrambled eggs on toast! The staff were lovely and the food was great, with a good choice of breakfasts and light lunches, cakes etc. I would have given the place 5 stars if it had not been for the extremely long time it takes to place your order and wait for your food. We queued for 20 mins at the counter, while ONE person, wrote down each person's order, made their teas and coffees, served cake and then took payments. We then sat at the the table for a further 20 mins until the food arrived. They really do need to improve this system with either more people behind the counter or with table service. This point has been raised by several other reviewers, but obviously not rectified yet. Please do something about this, as it spoils an otherwise really nice cafe.

Flew into Turweston today to check out the restaurant. The food was fine and once ordered, it didn't take long to be served but their downfall is queuing to order. They are incredibly slow behind the counter, I counted 21 people in the queue today and just 1 person taking orders behind the counter who was in no rush whatsoever. Ideally they need another staff member behind the counter and speed up the process of taking orders. The queue was growing faster than the customers were being served. There are plenty of tables in the restaurant with superb views so maybe a table service would work better for this location. The food tasted fine but compared to other airfields/ locations, it is certainly overpriced. No chips and no beans!!! come on guys everyone wants these, lets see them on the menu :)

The only issue with the roast was that the meat was pretty cool when it arrived, and all the vegetables and whole meal cooled very quickly being served on separate dishes, which made it less enjoyable than it could have been.

Won’t be coming back here too quickly. There were no cakes left when we arrived and it’s only 13:30hrs! Only one type of tea or coffee available (coffee was very bland) and those were made via a hot water urn, which was not very hot. Hot chocolate was a just a standard Cadbury’s powder mix. No brown sugar for the coffee and cheap dirty teaspoons which could do with a good scrub. Dirty tables not being cleared often enough. The guy serving was most odd, just kept saying there was nothing he could do about the lack of cakes or hot water. No smiles or customer service on this occasion. This could be such a nice place with the right people with the right attitude looking after it, but right now, I will avoid it at all costs. Lovely view across the airfield. Such a shame. I was looking forward to using this place frequently for a nice lunch or afternoon tea.

I have visited twice in the last two weeks with family. On the first occasion we had hot chocolates and teas, both were very poor. On second occasion we had coffees which were even more disappointing. This is an excellent location for a restaurant and cafe but I can name 10 nearby cafes, restaurants, bars where you can get a good cappuccino, latte etc. Here they only offer filter coffee which was average at best. The service was good and the food looked very nice but I will not return until they sort out the drinks. So disappointing for such a fabulous location.

The cafe is in a superb location with good ambience and fantastic views of the airfield. Although the breakfast/brunch menu looked good, we stopped only for coffee and tea on this occasion and were very disappointed with both. The tea was served from a hot water heater tap directly into a cold cup with a teabag in it. As a result, the water probably wasn't boiling and the tea tasted unlpleasant, almost of limescale - it was returned. A kettle with boiling water and warmed teapots would be an improvement. The coffee choices are either instant for £1.50 or lavazza filter for £2.50. We chose the filter which was served in a cafetiere, but wasn't great really. This is the price we would normally pay for barista coffee, so we were expecting something better. This cafe has great potential, and perhaps should consider investing in a barista coffee machine. Great tasting coffee would certainly improve the experience and ensure that people like us want to return.

We have often visited this cafe when flying into Turweston Airfield. It is modern & totally unlike many airfield cafes. The views of landing aircraft are second to none and the terrace on a warm day is delightful. Maybe, however, its success has resulted in it being very busy so be ready to queue for a while. Take plenty of money too as it is expensive. Well someone has to pay for an incredibly expensive 4-story facility.

A really nice place to go and enjoy good food and watch all the take-offs and landings makes it a really interesting venue for lunch. Good food, contemporary setting right up in the control tower with a nice outside terrace if the weather is good. Pity you can't get a latte though.

Made a planned visit on a Sunday in September and so phoned ahead a couple of days in advance to double check that they actually did substantial cooked meals at lunchtime as didn't just want a cafe type snack for Sunday lunch. Was assured that whilst they weren't serving traditional Sunday lunch yet, they did have daily cooked specials like pasta .etc.,

Nice clean new cafe. Great views over the airport and countryside. Had to wait for about five mins whilst the server chatted to her friends about their kids etc.. Eventually a young lad came from out of the back, saw the queue that had built up and served us. We were here for lunch and decided to have the Chef's Special, which was cottage pie. Hate to say it , but it was rather bland and tasteless. The cakes look good but due to dietary requirements I can't have them. Incidentally there was no information given on whether any of the food is gluten free or the like. Even the vegetation options weren't marked as so. So if you can eat cake and have a drink this place is OK.

Visited here on a Sunday (opens at 10:00) and was really surprised to find such a fabulous menu available. I went for their scrambled egg and smoked salmon on granary toast, which was accompanied by a very tasty dressed salad. Very clean with a modern look, they have plenty of tables with more out on the balcony which overlooks the airfield.

We visit this wonderful cafe at least 2-3 times a month, Grandma loves the omelette and I love the cheese & ham toastie which is packed full (not just one slice). The food especially the omelette is always hot & tasty with a lovely little side salad. The cakes are amazing they are a must try! Our children love sitting and watching the planes & helicopters from the outside balcony over the lake/pond. People must remember to watch their children as it is still a working busy aerodrome and children should always be supervised. We can't wait for Christmas as the menu looks great! Wheelchair friendly and easy parking.

Well it's off the beaten track on Turweston Aerodrome but what a delightful place. Staff are so welcoming. Nice view (better when the sun is shining). Not somewhere you'd naturally think of going unless you were a plane enthusiast, but the welcome, view, cake and afternoon tea make it a worthy visit. Bruschetta with mackerel and beetroot was a fine lunch snack today!

On the first floor of the Control Tower building situated by the side of a lake, this delightful café is open between 1000-1600, seven days a week, and can be reached by stairs or lift. It has been open for less than a year and retains its brand new feel. Clean, spacious and with a superb view of the airfield and the surrounding countryside, it probably has the best view of an airfield from any café in the UK. It has an outside balcony so there is sufficient room although it can be get crowded around lunchtime on a fine day. Airfield employees, aviators and passers-by create a happy and informal atmosphere. A relatively limited menu nevertheless offers excellent food at reasonable cost from very welcoming and friendly staff.

I arranged for 23 members of the Buckingham and District Branch to have afternoon tea and cakes in the Flight Deck Cafe. The Cafe staff and Tania could not have been more helpful in making the booking or in welcoming us this afternoon. With some members not in the first flush of youth, the cafe staff were quite superb-- as were the teas, coffees and very large slices of homemade cakes. Thank you.

Visited today for tea and cake, this is a little off the beaten track but a great cafe, spotlessly clean, very modern, cakes were outstanding and some of the dishes being eaten by others looked wonderful. The menu is not huge but has dime unusual combinations for cafe fare - panini, jackets, sandwiches, granary etc etc. There are also hot and food chefs specials. Prices are very reasonable and you can watch the planes landing and taking off as well as the ducks etc on the pond. It has an outside deck for good weather. Staff really friendly and helpful. Will be back.

Have no interest in aeroplanes but had heard positive things about the cafe so tried it out today. Limited menu but good choice and it all sounded lovely. I had caesar salad which was huge with a large amount of tender chicken. Lovely airy room, friendly staff and superb home made (i think) massive cakes. Was able to sit outside and enjoy the sight of the planes landing. Rally cars were noisy but they weren't constant. Was a delight
