Flare - Carnaby in City of London, Westminster

Please avoid this place! One star is actually generous. This was the WORST place we’ve ever been in London. We went for a bottomless brunch , they firstly could not find our booking. (There was a hen party before us who told us that they were made to wait an hour for their table they booked because they couldn’t find their table either). We then waited 40 minutes for our first drink (one bottle of Prosecco between 12 of us) the food was disgusting … really really salty and a few of us asked for a soft drink because of the salty taste and was told this was not included in the bottomless brunch and this would be at an extra cost. We are all very polite girls and told them in a friendly manner at the end of the brunch we were disappointed. The waiting staff sent 3 different men over all claiming to be the manager saying different things.. we was told at the end of the brunch time to leave the downstairs area but could drink upstairs because they didn’t want the private party after us to know that we were dissatisfied or overhear us talking to the manager about our dissatisfaction. Waiting staff were on their phones and not serving drinks even though the place was basically empty. There was sick all over the toilets when we arrived, which we reported but was still there when we left. Avoid at all costs , there are so many other lovely places in London to go … it was a horrendous experience and the place was very quiet for a Saturday … now we know why.

The drinks here were good but do not order the chicken satay under the bar food section on the menu. The chicken was dry and very bland and the “peanut sauce” may ad we’ll have been peanut butter. Perhaps it’s my fault for ordering a Thai food option from a bar, but nonetheless, don’t get it.

Went again recently. I again can only say very polite staff. From the very polite door man, to the bar staff and I was again looked after by Maria. I was told a new chef who came out and said hello, was saying about new menu and ideas. Nice happy place.

Stopped in for fish and Chips and a point for lunch, the breaking was soggy, most people who ordered the fish and Chips didnt finish the fish it was soo greasy. The beer selection is horrible, they have Becks and corona on tap. Nothing really worth drinking.

The whole experience was horrendous. We booked the table 1 month in advance for a bottomless brunch and we arrived and the restaurant didn’t have our booking. The staff were extremely rude, unhelpful, they lied to us and the atmosphere was terrible. Do not recommend. There was no DJ that the website advised and the photos were extremely misleading. I would avoid this restaurant like the plague. If I could leave 0 stars I would, nothing about this place was good.

We went for a spot of lunch, service was slow but we were in no rush so let it slide. When the food came total of 4 meals all were cold so sent it back, 50 mins later it came back , microwaved and crispy so refused and left. No apologies and no offer or reduction in drinks until we refused to pay. Obviously no kitchen on site. Lots of people walked out due to long wait.

What a horrible experience. We came and the male waiter said we could only sit outside as the inside was booked with a 20 person brunch. So we sat outside by the heaters. We ordered and it took forever. Nobody informed of the loooooong wait for drinks and food. When we asked a female waiter about the wait, she arrogantly said "5 minutes". When nothing had happened after 5 minutes, we complained, and the very young waiter most surprisingly started lecturing us about waiting times in London as she could tell that we were foreigners. Never have I waited that long for food in London and never have I been so arrogantly treated in a city that I know and love for its friendly people. The food arrived after nearly an hour and it was horrible. What a waste of time and money.

Went yesterday for The bottomless brunch: very good value. They keep you topped up with Prosecco as soon as your glass is empty if you ask them to. Very friendly service and great choice of tapas. generous portions very tasty food squid and prawns . Was super fun .

Don't bother!! Keep walking past. Food arrived cold. Falafel deep fried to a crisp, to the point there was only a crisp greasy husk.left. staff slow, hence the cold food, only a teaspoon of tzaziki to go with the falafel.

Very aggressive staff. We ordered two spicy margaritas, which were undrinkable. Basically just tequila and chilli flakes. When we asked could we change them we were told that there was “nothing wrong with them”. We were then “educated” on how to make a margarita (not that we asked) and we then asked if we could just change them to a glass of Prosecco which was £10 and said we will pay the price of the margaritas for them , we again, were told no because there was nothing wrong with the drink. The manager was incredibly rude and hostile. They had the check to charge 12.5% service change as well. I am surprised this place is still open, since it’s run by 21 year olds. Owners should be embarrassed by their staff and how they speak to customers. Do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment.

Just perfect. Staff very friendly, shout out for Maria, the door man really pleasant and helpful. Had the Fish & Chips which was very good. Highly recommend this place with a cool vibe and smiles everwhere

What an amazing find. Lovely place, food was fast and tasty and staff were all so kind and friendly. I went with my young son (9), his friend and her mum. We loved it. We treated ourselves to one cocktail, which was great, as was the food, but the kids were treated like superstars and had the most amazing evening. Thank you Flares.
