I went to yarrow Bridge for yarrow fest. What a fantastic day the staff worked so hard as it was very busy. I didn't get chance to have food as I was there to enjoy the free entertainment that was put on. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED.

Having had a few half decent lunches at Flaming Grill we booked a table this evening for dinner. The pub was filthy, the table, seating and menus were covered in grease and food and everything was sticky. After paying £15 for drinks we got up and left as we did not feel as a family that it was pleasant surroundings to eat a meal in. This pub needs refurbishment and its not that long since it was done, housekeeping needs desperate attention and the boarded up window next to the side door has been that way for a couple of weeks now, scruffy! On telling a member of staff we were leaving, he didn't even make eye contact and simply said, 'ok, sorry. Went here today bank holiday Monday- was surprised not very busy for a bank holiday but after experiencing the service can understand why.Ordered for x2 adults and 4kids, lady taking the order was huffing and puffing impatiently at the till and everything seemed to be an inconvenience - I work in hospitality and if we hadn't had the kids with us we would have walked out, as if someone's taking £50 off me for bog standard food I expect it to be done with a smile- not in the manner she did like we were putting her out - FYI Flaming Grill if you didn't have customers you wouldn't have a business and the staff no job! The poor service was from the older members off staff (presumably supervisors?) so would think now becoming a culture of "don't care" within the rest of the team.If the area manager of this pub is wondering why the sales have gone down then look at the staff and customer service as that's why we won't be coming back. In a chain pub a similar menu is available at the next pub down the road so the only way you can compete is on service, and this is sadly lacking here. They want the family money (you can tell from the overpriced grabbers they have installed) but they are certainly not child friendly!!

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly here. We were eating at around 8pm on a Friday, having driven up for a friend's wedding the next day. There was a mixup on my friend's order, but they got it fixed straightaway with no fuss and lots of apologies. However, the restaurant itself was very quiet for a Friday night, and it was clear that the serving staff were bored. They were putting away chairs and setting out for the hotel breakfast while we were still eating, so clearly didn't expect any more customers than they had (which wasn't many). The food was okay, totally fine for a quick dinner but not anything to write home about. Cocktails were a nice treat after the drive but it was clear the staff weren't used to making them.

Fish and chips - cold chips and a pitiful spoonful of mushy peas which must have been sitting there so long there was no mush left. The kids pasta was inedible. The Yarrow Bridge has gone downhill over the pas few months. It's not the fault of the staff, I would say it's the management - A popular time for eating out between 6 & 8pm, on a Sunday evening, the first impression this evening was staff run off their feet. A few empty tables however, none of them were fit to sit down at. Full of empty plates, glasses, sticky mess. We found a table and emptied it ourselves, we then proceeded to wipe it down. The menu's were grubby, the tables shabby and the decor is well in need of a tidy up. The staff were running round trying to serve up and clear tables, we really felt sorry for them and noticed that bar staff were all mucking in to put orders out. The food came, after a 40 minute wait, which we were not informed of when ordering our meals. When it came,,,, it was a little dried up as though it had been waiting for the waiters to bring it to our table. It became very obvious that there were not enough staff for the high demand of meals at this time. However, we are only be able to put this down to lack of staff. As we have eaten and enjoyed our meals here before, we will return with a hope that in future, the management don't try and cut corners and look at upgrading furniture and decor and also putting less stress onto their overstretched staff.

On our way to Manchester for the weekend travelling on the A6 for a change. Stopped here for lunch - big mistake. The place was not too busy apart from a group of about 12. Only two people working front of house - one taking the orders and one bringing out the meals. Waiting to place the order took forever as this girl also had to organise the drinks. Then the food took forever to come out. The whole place looks tired and in need of a good clean everywhere - but really only a full refurb will make it an attractive place to go to. Food was OK but geared to American style eating - huge quantities. The manageress told me that they were not allowed to employ any more staff by head office. We wont bother going here in the future.

We go to this restaurant quite often as it is close to were we live. The food is always very good, for the money. The only issue i have found, which is slowly getting worse is the time it takes to get served at the bar. The last time we went, there was one person serving despite there being 8 people in the que. It therefore took 25 minutes just to place an order. The barman is always apologetic, however this does really need looking at.

Also found a long black hair on flapjack taken from the continental buffet yuk! Didn't have heart to mention to staff as they are all so lovely and helpful. Dinner is usual Flaming Grill - stacked high and cheap, but can't grumble as hot and tastes fine.Biggest complaint - the decor!! Ceilings are peeling, clear damp problem with mound around windows, very off putting! Toilets are clean but in a really poor state of repair, dryer broken and just a horrible place to be.Generally grubby and sticky everywhere - I just hope the kitchen is not the same as everywhere else. MORE AT TripAdvisor

I have eaten at the flaming grill probably five or six times over the last few years and always as an invited guest. This particular restaurant just happens to be conveniently placed for those times when my family decide to meet for a ‘get together’ but personally, I would not choose to eat here. It’s a family restaurant catering for those on a budget and tends to attract the type of people who like to display their tattooed legs in public - I counted twelve individuals who fitted this description on the night I was there (they weren’t all male either!) I suppose it depends upon the time of your visit, but in my experience, the restaurant is usually full of families with children and can get very noisy - this is not a restaurant for those requiring a quiet romantic evening. It’s your typical pub/restaurant with a bit of a novelty - which in this case is that they serve steak to the table on a hot skillet so that it is still sizzling. The place seems to be popular, because it is always busy, and of course it’s still in business and has not been bought out half a dozen times by pub chains. The food they serve is predominantly ‘American style’ steak or burgers, some of which come in the form of a ‘challenge’ which means that the diner is challenged to eat all of an enormous triple serving of beef and chicken burgers layered with fried onions, bacon, melted cheese and deep fried onion rings on a giant white bun served with a mountain of chips and an ironic salad on the side. This meal is clearly loaded with fat and calories and I would advise anyone who is remotely concerned about their health, or their waistline, not to eat it. Some steaks, such as the rib eye, arrive at the table on a hot skillet and are still sizzling noisily. This of course is just a gimmick and designed to add a touch of drama so that the diners can ‘ooh and ahh’ as their meal is served. Be warned though, the skillet is very hot indeed and will burn the skin off your fingers if you touch it - also, it means that because the steak is still being cooked, you need to eat it quickly before the ‘rare’ steak you ordered, becomes the ‘well done’ steak you didn’t. The food is passable, cheap and cheerful and clearly aimed at families with children. Don’t expect an exquisite filet mignon avec petit champignons here - this is simple steak, chips and deep fried mushroom territory. The restaurant itself is well used and it shows in the fixtures and fittings. Some tables are scored and ingrained and seat cushions stained and frayed. The menu card I used was dirty and sticky from being handled by too many greasy fingers and rather off putting. The youthful staff seemed pretty efficient but appeared rushed and stressed and. I chose a 10 oz steak cooked medium, with chips and peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked correctly (initially) but appeared to be a cheap fatty cut that tasted quite bland and was instantly forgettable. The chips were not freshly cut but were adequate but the peppercorn sauce was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced - watery and pretty much tasteless. Putting all this aside, it was lovely to see the family again (none of whom have tattooed legs, I must add.)

We visit here fairly often, for a decent plateful at a reasonable price. The pricing makes it popular and it does get busy but people form an orderly queue at the bar. Ive never been before and won't go again. How dirty and unpleasant can one restaurant get? Walked round to find table uncleared dirty tables with pervious people's plates on, torn and greasy "reserved" signs printed on paper on the cleaner tables and food all over the floor, not one table was suitable to sit at.The two bar staff looked just as scuffy as the place itself and I only saw one other "waiter" who was filling up a ketchup bottle or something and he looked like the world was ending! None of which acknowledged us. I quickly turned my dad around and went out the door. We used to quite like the food here, and thought it fairly good value for money. On our last visit quite frankly I was appalled by my food. I ordered a Pulled Pork Burrito, "stuffed with pulled pork", I believe is what it said on the menu. It should have said "stuffed with rice" ! Hardly any pork, a few tiny bits of cooked pepper, and a little lettuce. I do not consider that my meal, priced at £8.99, was worth more than £2.00. Don't know if I will bother going again, I can better value elsewhere.

Went for a meal on Sunday evening, it was quite busy which was a good sign. I found the drinks to be expensive, £8. 16 for 2 pints. I ordered sirloin steak meal, the steak was nothing to shout about, quite tough, only a few frozen chips, and a very small I would say a desert spoon of peas, I paid extra for a pepper sauce which would only fill an egg cup, and that was not as hot as it should have been. My husband had ribeye steak meal and that was pretty much the same, can't say it was over filling as on arriving home I had a tin of soup! As we were staying in the Premier Inn next door we decided to have our evening meal here. What an experience to be had, long wait for a poor meal of fish and chips.Under cooked batter on the fish made it unpalatable. The staff work hard with what they have but it's a losing battle for them, clean cloths to wipe tables would be a start. This is not the only time we have visited this place ,as it's so convenient to the hotel, unfortunately we have seen it go down considerably in the last few years. The cleaning staff need to go on a course to understand a general standard of cleanliness required in this establishment, the public toilets were very disgusting.Broken locks on cubicle doors, flush broken and stinking! We will not be visiting The Flaming Grill ever again!Unless it has been revamped and all these points have been looked into.

So large family order which I would have hoped they would have gone out of there way to please. Simple fresh food cooked well would have worked.Instead we got undercooked food that was then microwaved within an inch of its existence.Starter was cold on the outside, burning hot on the inside. Steak was the opposite, more cold blood than battle of Trafalgar, then constantly reheated until it was tough as old boots. On the positive side, the sticky tables had "character". A real experience that I will remember for a

Food is normally really nice and good value. Last night my steak was undercooked but wasn't a problem putting it back on for a bit. Service ok - not table service but that's fine. This is more of a place to get something quick to eat. Wouldn't come here for a nice meal or a special occasion but you can't argue with the prices

We visited on 11/9/15. There was no front of house staff so asked at the bar if we seat ourselves and was told yes. No problem there. There was a few reserves tables, and all the other free tables had empty glasses, tissues and bits of food on them, we selected the cleanest dirty table we could find and sat down, no members of staff anywhere in sight to ask to wipe down and remove the glasses and tissues. 2 members of staff then walked straight past is and started to clear a table opposite that was occupied by a large party, and then another family walked in and sat down at another dirty table, and a member of staff went straight over to them and cleared and wiped down... I tried to get his attention but was ignored. I tried to get the attention of the 2 staff that were clearing the large parties table, I even walked over to ask if our table could be cleaned and the girl just spoke to the other staff member and ignored me again. I waited another 5 minutes and nobody came over. All the menus were sticky and covered in food. To be fair, they were busy, but the table we were at had had the food plates removed, so why hasn't they come back to finish the clean? 15 minutes of waiting and we gave up and went to another pub for food. I've really been put off by my experience. Seems to have gone a bit lackadaisical on the customer service front.

Came across this pub at weekend and they managed to fit us in although squeezed 4 of us into a table meant for 3Ordering was efficient but when the meals came they weren't right even though the waitress had noted down all the changes we wanted on the order which was obviously the kitchens fault not hersThe meal itself was lovely and great value for moneyWould visit again

well, i have been to this flaming grill many times, i have seen the staff change a lot.and id say the food as slowly got worse but this last time Wednesday 19th august, i couldnt even finish the food, dry burger and the fries were so worse, they were hollow, and cold, the whole thing looked like it had been flung at the plate.it was busy, and the wait to order was 10 mins, and the bar staff looked really bored over all its not even good pub food going off this meal

We came for our breakfast and as expected we both enjoyed it. Wetherspoons food is always good which is why we keep using them. We both had different breakfasts but both loved them as usual. It's a pleasure to have it made for you. Well done guys, we will be back I'm sure.

Charles is amazing, such a gent. Gave great advice to us as we had no clue where to start with our planters. Also, helped take our purchases to the car. I can’t give enough praise for this place.

Parked in what we thought was the free pub car park, received a parking fine for £100 one week later. We arrived when it was pitch black and due to COVID restrictions couldn't leave our table once we were seated. Hence, we didn't have a clue we had to pay to park. The staff didn't mention it to us at any point. Strange considering how many terrible reviews they're getting for the exact same reason? Why oh why.

With all the ambience of a canteen on a cross channel ferry, with so much noise, this is not a pleasant experience. I put shoes on for dinner, but that made me overdressed. Should have put some old trainers on. I live and learn. Add in that the food is really quite pricey for what it is, and it would definitely not be the place I would ever choose to eat. But I am staying in the hotel, and have an early start tomorrow. The hotel is very nice, and I will review separately, but it deserves a PROPER restaurant given the heritage of the place. Main course only for me, as work wont expense a £12 starter on top of a £6.50 pint without moaning, and I am out of this ludicrously loud and echoing ‘school dinner hall’ feeling place as soon as possible! Wish I had room service and not bothered.
