visited here a couple weeks ago and being from Bristol I don’t know why I’ve not been sooner! The staff are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The interior is very peaceful and serene. We booked for 7 on a Saturday but was only 5 in the end but staff did not mind and was happy to answer questions on the different drinks etc! You have to try their desert and drinks it is amazing ✨ would deffo visit again, they’re halal and non alcoholic 🌸

I am normally very easy to please, but this place was beyond bad. Was it the food? No, that was average. The atmosphere? No, that was a little flat but nothing to complain about. Was it the waiting staff? No, they were polite enough. The issue is the owner. He is so arrogant and believes we are lucky enough just to be at his restaurant. We had a party of seven last Saturday night. It was a family birthday meal with three generations. We got there, had mains, and then we all ordered desserts and tea. After a few minutes of receiving the tea, the owner came to us and asked us if we could leave as he had others waiting for the table. We have never been so insulted. We had prebooked, arrived on time and were spending good money. We had only been in the plavlce for 80 minutes which is not all that long when you consider it takes 15 minutes until your order is taken and then another 30 minutes for it to arrive. In all my years we have never been asked to leave midway through a course of food. Absolutely ridiculous. We will certainly not be coming back. Also be careful if visiting on a hot day as they chanrge 50p per ice cube. Yes, you read that write. It's even priced on the menu. I must admit we didn't purchase any of the ice cubes so I cannot comment too much. Maybe they are the best ice cubes in the world.

100% would recommend the lambs neck! It can feed two, you get loads of rice with it and a whole bulb of roasted garlic. Other food was tasty too. If you're really interested in lamb's neck specifically, call in advance and reserve. The decor inside is nice, quite a calming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and if you have questions about the food they can help you

I was told to go there for a Persian food experience. Everything I tried was very fresh and prepared by the chef before serving. I had the taste of spring starter with the homemade Naan bread and chicken kebab with the lightest and fluffiest saffron rice that I have ever tried. Persian tea is also highly recommended to try. The lamb neck was tender and succulent. The portions are generous, so you might consider shearing it you are not a big eater.

Decoration and staff were nice. Kashko bademjan and bread was brilliant but the grill was too much salty for me. My blood pressure increased by 2 units after we came back home. Definitely not a healthy choice for those who have blood pressure issues. Not sure if I want to go back again.

Last week, my girlfriend and I had dinner at this restaurant. We traveled all the way from Weston-super-Mare. An unforgettable experience! The restaurant is just a short walk away from the famous Banksy district. When we arrived, we were welcomed with great warmth and respect. We visited Sam's Master Grill while dropping our son at the university and were lucky to get a table without prebooking. It was our first experience of beautiful Persian cuisine, and definitely not the last! The kebabs, dizi, and lamb neck were outstanding, with tender, flavorful meat. The portions were generous, reasonably priced, and paired with excellent service in a lovely venue. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality—highly recommend!

The lamb was delectable, however, I must express my disappointment with the chicken. It was devoid of flavor and possessed an unpleasantly rubbery texture. While the bread was delightful, it occupied an excessive amount of space on the table. I would respectfully suggest the implementation of a vertical stand for the bread to optimize table space.

Went for my sisters birthday, had to wait for a table in a near empty resturant, got the drinks wrong twice and was charged for it even though they never managed to bring the right drink out, juices are kids cartons from costco charged at £1.50 not even in a glass. Ordered a whole chicken was given the smallest baby chicken you have ever seen. Not the best persian food around. Service was extremely slow and lazy couldn't even be bothered to bring the bill and card machine to the table.

Heard about this place by word of mouth and it didn't disappoint! Simple but delicious Persian food. Very easy to book via text, fast response. Staff were very attentive and helped us with not over ordering which is always a green flag, and gave some great recommendations. BYOB with small corkage fee was a major perk (very well stocked corner shop across the road). Seemed to be popular with local Iranians too which was another good sign. 100% recommend and will be returning.

This place is amazing. Such a wonderful welcome from Sam and his team. We started with the Saffron tea with dates, which was delicious. The portions are huge so go hungry! They don't serve alcohol but there is a great supermarket opposite. So we took some drinks. We can't wait to go back.

The food at Sam's Masters Grill is authentic and full of flavour. Portions are very generous and reasonably priced. A few stand out dishes I have had include the lamb neck, whole chicken, chicken liver starter and the lamb kofta. The rice should also get a special mention, it's fluffy, light and super buttery!

Really nice atmosphere once you're inside. The entrance can be a bit hot, the grill is right next to it. Do make a reservation ahead of time, there aren't that many tables. The food is flavorful, plentiful, and they have a good variety of options. The ice-cream is pretty good, especially the thing under the ice cream, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. While the flavors are excellent, it isn't exactly what I was looking for. However, the food is well cooked and juicy and you might enjoy it.

Nice ambience in the restaurant at the back. Party of 4 we had different starters and mains. Large Naan with each starter. I had skewers of heart and liver which was really good. Others had various meaty and vegetarian items in small hot cast iron dishes, all with good feedback. There is a large selection of stews for mains, though we had mostly grills. My grill was chicken and llamb. The lamb neck was huge and really good. These dishes all had large mounds of rice. We all really enjoyed what we had, and the mains are so large that next time I might share a main to leave room for a desert (baclava or 2 different ice creams). They have a few soft drinks, if you want alcohol it's BYO, reasonable corkage. It got busy, so booking advisable. Staff are friendly.

Does ruin the ice cream rather than complementing it, I recommend asking them to put pistachio shavings rather than just cutting them in half or better to have no pistachios at all

Tasty, delicious and delicious. For those who are looking for and want to try different dishes with a touch of the Middle East; Whole Lamb Neck with Persian Rice is the most popular and popular. Rumor has it that people from as far away as Bristol are driving and coming to enjoy this cuisine. It must be the main dish from Sam'd Master Grill. Don't forget to also try other dishes such as Mirza Ghassemi, Chicken Wing mixed with Persian rice which is good and delicious. Definitely satisfying and not disappointing. The location of the restaurant is quite challenging for those who come by car. Parking is very limited and challenging to get it. Most parking is on the street. Midday and evening peak times make it even more difficult with the presence of many people because there are also restaurants and pubs around. Those who take the bus are lucky because there is a bus stop in front of it and they arrive directly at the restaurant. Those who are nearby and in Bristol City Center can try and enjoy the cuisine from Sam's Master Grill that will definitely satisfy your family. Good luck!

We came here on a Saturday night just to get some dinner. The waitress had to check if there are tables as they were quite busy and she said she had one available for us but asked kindly if we can book next time which is perfectly understandable. She took us to our table and while we were walking, there was a very disturbing smell which smelt like feces but we gave them the benefit of the doubt which could have been the baby nearby. We sat down and before the owner/manager [Tall Male] asked us what drinks we would like, he told us to book next time. We get it, the waitress told us when we came in, being told once was enough. Then he came back and took our food order and told us to book next time AGAIN because he rearranged the tables and gave us the table his friend was supposed to be seated at. At this point we were thinking "Does he think we're stupid?" because why does he have to tell us 3 times? And he said it like hes doing us a favour, if we knew we were going to get hounded like this, we wouldve chose another restaurant. They were the first restaurant we went to for the night, we wouldve been fine if they turned us away because they are busy - we really arent fussed! And to tell us he gave us the table that was supposed to go for his friend, just made us uncomfortable like we arent wanted. Our food came, starters were lovely but the chicken was so wet, didnt have enough charring to it and just felt like it was undercooked and not seasoned enough. When we went to go pay, the owner comes up to us and guess what?!?! He told us to make sure we book the next time we come back. There is not going to be a next time :)

I usually refuse to give any 5* rating as I'm a firm believer that there's always room for improvement in some aspect but in this case it would be unfair for me to do so. The food was amazing! Value for money, very good portion sizes. The only reason I've given 4* for service is there was a slight misunderstanding from a staff member that we didn't have a booking. The manager came over and sorted it out in a timely manner.

I have been here a few times for lunch and dinner and I always leave full of praises. The food is absolutely incredible - with an extensive menu full of Persian dishes that are primarily categorised by ‘Stew Dishes’ or ‘Grill Dishes’ for your main course. The interior is absolutely beautiful - do not be deterred by the plainer looking exterior because once you step in, you can immediately see the fresh food cooking by the front of the restaurant. You will also be greeted by Sam himself, the owner, who is one of the warmest and most welcoming people! Every dish I have tried so far has been incredible, the service is always good though it can take a bit longer as the attendants want you to properly look through the menu before they take your order. I also enjoy the Istaak drinks which are malt non-alcoholic drinks in various flavours which taste amazing! Overall, I constantly recommend this place to my friends and my colleagues but it’s about time I actually do a review of such a gem in Bristol. Thank you Sam!

We walked in just after 10pm, and they were kind enough to let us eat in! The mixed grill was fabulous, just wished they also did sauces to do alongside the grill as a complement. The starter and sides were also delicious, especially their buttery rice - highly recommend! The atmosphere is good and service is excellent - we were recommended to book beforehand as they tend to be fully booked on most days.

Hidden gem! Absolutely amazing! Huge unbelievable delicious dishes. Highly recommend to try lamb kofta and saffron ice cream. I expected a regular dish, but it was huge! I expected just one small scope of ice cream, but the whole bowl of ice cream came. Halloumi and hummus are very good as well. The staff are great, very kind and friendly people. Very clean and nice restaurant offering Turkish and Persian themed food, service is prompt, staff are polite. The restaurant is based on a main road with a bus lane right in front of it. We had to park on a side road and walk to the restaurant. Food was ok, naan came in the form of a thin flat bread like a thin crispy chapatti freshly made to order. The meat seemed fresh and the rice was served with a block of butter. Meats were served in a long ellipsed tray accompanied with salad. Chips were delicious and had that rustic touch and taste to them. They only offered tomato ketchup and a 'extra hot' chilli sauce with chilli flakes (the ones that can be bought from supermarket). A chilli sauce made in house would have been nice... like ezme etc would have definetely enhanced the dining experience. If I were to visit again I would be more inclined to try their soup and select from their selection of stews with preferably a thick soft bread to soak up the sauces... one for next time maybe.. I missed out on their fresh looking pistachio baklava .. I day have no space left otherwise I would have loved to have tasted it. I have been to other Turkish / Lebanese / persian restaurants before and I must say there is room for other ideas / improvements. Would I visit again, I probably wouldn't, I'd be more inclined to try something or somewhere else if I ever visited bristol again.

This is the best Persian food I have ever had. I got a medium lamb Kofta, and it was a huge portion, with amazing quality food. The service was super friendly, and the restaurant itself was very clean with comfortable seating and nice decorations. We were served by Sam himself, who is really nice and funny and really made us feel welcome in his restaurant.

This is the most bad experience ever. After ordering the food we said we wanted rice with zerrchk and he brought us a pinch and charged us for that one pound fifty. We had leftover food and requested a takeaway parcel, which after going home, we found that the waiter charged us £1.00 for the box, imagine!!!!? I have never asked for a parcel I had any restaurant before and was charged for that. Such a creepy attitude towards customers. Wi never go there back and don't recommend it for anyone.

The portions are amazing. The food is great. My personal favourite were the wings and kebabs. Don't even get me started on the ice cream. It's amazing!! It's my favourite restaurant by far. This place has earned its 5 stars. I highly recommend it!

I can't thank the owner enough, he approached us advising us to only order 3 meals and share them between ourselves rather than 5 as we thought. I am undecided about this place. On the one hand, the portions were very generous, the prices were good, and the server was very attentive and friendly. On the other hand, both the chicken and the lamb in my mixed grill were fatty and bland; it's just meat with a marinade, slightly undercooked. Overall it was ok, but this is not a "master" grill.

Best Persian restaurant in Bristol by faaaar!

I went there twice, the food quality isn’t the worst… but for some reason both times the food made me somewhat sick. The first time I went there I had the Koobideh Kabab and the next day I was throwing up. The second time, the food came cold and after that I felt sick once again. Never coming again… go to Kush restaurant down the road for clean and healthy persian food.

Had high hopes for this place but was really disappointed. We went for an evening meal and were put on a table at the back round the corner, it is BYOB and took 25 minutes to even manage to get a waiters attention to get glasses to pour our drinks into! The staff were really not attentive throughout the meal and the restaurant was only half full. After finishing our meal we waited around for the bill, but again no one came to the table to ask if we wanted anything else, I had to get up and speak to a waiter and she told me I had to go up to the front - poor communication again. The food was tasty but the service has put me off returning, especially when plenty of other choice in the area.

Very good place we book table for lunch , the food was tasty service so friendly and professional only bad point after an hour and half one of the restaurant stuff ask us to leave to prepare our table to next costumer which we found it rude and unacceptable specially this happened after we asked full pot of tea as soon as the tea been served they ask us to leave 😂😅 then they give us 10 minutes to finish our tea 🙂

I've eaten in Iranian restaurants all over the UK so I have a fair amount of experience. This is by far the best Iranian restaurant I have ever eaten at in the UK. They genuinely care about the food, they cook it with love and also precision. Beautiful. 6 stars

Take-away Service, quick and food ready on time. Food was succulent, delicious and freshly, perfectly cooked. Will be going again soon! Have dined in a lot and each time the menu improves and widens. The food was absolutely amazing. I don't usually eat liver, however this one was out of this world. The saffron rice was the smoothest/fluffiest/tastiest one I have ever had in my life, and the prawn was the crunchiest (and they were massive). The coconut beer was so good, I bought 4 to take home as well. I have never had Persian food before but Jesus I was missing out. Food is very tasty here, especially whole lamb neck and royal lamb chops I strongly recommend. Portions are big for whole lamb neck that two people can easily share. Shish kebab style chicken and meat kofte also looked delicious.. service was fast, and their response time is quick.. It's busy, so a reservation could be required

Tasty and interesting food, warm friendly service, buzzing atmosphere. Great value too - very generous portion sizes so plenty for the next day too.
