The range of food was good, but the price did not include soft drinks. It is a buffet style restaurant. My son started vomiting approximately 6 hours after eating here, for roughly 12 hours. We would not go back.

Had breakfast here as it is included with your stay. Annoyingly it opens quite late at 8am (Secret Garden opens at 7.15am, why no consistency with times across the resort), and if you were thinking "I'll go to Secret Garden then," no, you can only book your restaurant in your hotel for breakfast. Suffice to say come 7.55am there was a queue of about 40 people stretching back to the lobby waiting to get in until someone decided to start checking us in (at about 8.05am). If the hotel is that busy and that many people are waiting, maybe think about opening earlier to spread out the guests? Especially as a 'perk' of staying onsite is being able to get in the park at 9am to ride some rides, hardly gives you enough time really considering we booked at 8am and actually my first plate of food was on the table at 8.15am. Food itself, my wife has a nut allergy and they have a very comprehensive manual of all dishes that do/may contain nuts which was nice. There was always a steady supply of food ready, the usual full English fare you'd get at a buffet. Coffee is only filter coffee in a tureen rather than a machine giving multiple options, no doubt an Aramark cost-cutting measure. Staff themselves were also very good, maybe a bit too good! We both went up to get some pastries and they started clearing all our plates and drinks away thinking we'd left :) The only food issue was the pastries (pain au chocolat and muffins) were bone dry, perhaps been left out too long or past their best before?

We stayed at the Alton towers hotel as part of our annual trip, and rather than booking the secret garden restaurant (which we found to be poor last time on choice and food quality) we decided to book Flambos for our evening meal. The reviews did cause concern but we still decided to go for it and were all glad we did. It really wasn’t as bad as everyone has made out (in our opinion). Good selection of Indian, Chinese, Mexican & German cuisine, a kids section, salad bar and dessert station including a “mr whippy” machine. Food was hot and the foods we tried were tasty. Some fruit juices are included in the set price of the buffet, but there is a bar within the restaurant where you can order further soft and alcoholic drinks. After today’s visit we’d definitely book this over the other hotel restaurants for our evening meal.

Very shocked and disappointed about the buffet facilities. For £27.50 I was expecting a bit more choice especially as I'm vegan. There were no labels next to the food so was difficult to see which food had no meat. What I could eat was dry and bland. For the rest of my party most of the choices were dry, spicy and full of pepper which I'm guessing was to disguise the quality of the food on offer which I wouldn't even offer my dog. Even more shocking there was not even one drink included in the price

Complained when l arrived as l as infirned l should have booked dinner before arrival, but said l wanted to see a menu before choosing. I searched online and found nothing. The food is very overpriced for what is available. £29.75 for an adult with no drink included is ridiculous. Also the same menu is put out every night, so there no different options. Only nice thing was the gammon. Decided to check uber eats for 2nd night and got pizza delivered to hotel. Much better value for money and quality of food was better.

We came here with low expectations after reading the reviews but it was located in our Hotel and we had a toddler in tow. £28 pp and £4.50 for our 1 year old. Considering a roll over hot dog in Alton towers was £9.50. We accepted £28 We really enjoyed the food there were several stations Chinese food, stir fry, prawn crackers sweet and sour pork, rice home comforts cottage pie, toad in the hole, etc A fake Nando’s style which was beautiful! Half chicken, fries, corn on cob and other items Curry 2 types with rice popadoms and mini naan. All were delicious Italian section with pastas pizzas and garlic bread. There was a lovely kids bit and a section for kids too with lots of choice . It wasn’t 5 star gourmet dining but we really enjoyed the variety and had parts of each food group and really enjoyed it all. It was unlimited and always fresh out we were the 5:30 sitting so wonder if this contributes to the freshness Breakfast the next day was served there and was really good too all you can eat full English buffet. Cereal and toast etc. yoghurts and fruit Would certainly come back in the future

I was unsure if you book this restaurant after reading reviews on here but I was booked into the hotel and there are limited options out of season in the resort. At £22.95 for adults and £9,95 for a child it is quite expensive, It's not made clear on the website but this includes unlimited soft drinks for adults and children. There is a good range of food and after trying various restaurants of this type I'd say the quality is above average, no issues with cold, bland or undercooked food. In comparison I paid £18.99 at a Cosmo all you can eat buffet and I'd say the food is worse there and it's not themed.I had a salad, vegetarian lasagne, ratatouille, spicy chicken, chilli con carne, Christmas pudding (small portion of each!), my child had fish fingers, beans, chips, a cherry tart and a Twister ice cream. There was also a full carvery deck and curry/ spring rolls etc. I think alot of customers for some reason go to the kids section and pile up with chips and beans etc -if you don't try the different variety of food then yes maybe chips and beans are bland. Also some people make no effort to control their children - allowing them to run infront of staff carrying massive piles of plates! One of the main things I enjoy is the Hawaiian/ tropical theming and watching the water park which if you get a window seat you can view, also some cool steel band Xmas music. Bear in mind this is a hotel restaurant in a theme park, you pay a premium for the experience if you don't want to pay that much there are pubs etc. not far from Alton Towers if you drive out of resort.Summary-Pros- Varity of food, in my opinion of a decent quality, theming, view of water parkCons- A little over priced, other guests behavior at times, if you're a fussy eater maybe it's not worth the price

As with my hotel review i had reservations regarding this restaurant due to previous reviews that were completely unfounded.Lets not forget that this is a buffet where you can eat as much as you like.Had Breakfast here for 2 days and an evening meal once, with my 17 year old Son and it was pretty good on all accounts. Some nice, tasty items, some not so much,Breakfast includes full English items continually stocked up. Individually wrapped branded cereals, muffins and pastries. Fruit and pancakes.Evening meal was quite pricey i guess. 2 meals and drinks came to £50 but these were both unlimited including branded drinks & ice creams/lollies + some nice (presumably homemade) cakes. If i had paid £20+ each for a singular meals of this quality i maybe wouldnt have been so positive but considering I was able to pig out and return to items i did enjoy i think it was more than acceptable.I think people need to chill out a bit

After reading through all the reviews, I was genuinely nervous as I had booked two evening meals here - we were staying at splash landings. We were a group of nine (family’s with children), and there are some picky eaters. We visited last year when it was a restricted menu and table service and loved it, and this year it was the buffet. I genuinely do not understand the negative reviews. We hate the constant slew of fried fast food at places like Alton Towers, and need a ‘proper meal’ to keep us going. There were vegetables, carvery meats, pasta, salad, and delicious chillis and curries. The selection was large and catered for absolutely everyone, even the pickiest of eaters in our group. In terms of value - it’s an all you can eat buffet, with a vast amount of choice, and for the price I actually expected a LOT less. The staff there were absolutely wonderful, funny and charismatic, and the atmosphere was a real holiday vibe. We had already decided that if the food was not up to scratch, we would go somewhere else on our second night, but we went right back to Flambo’s and were extremely happy we did.

Had dinner here at the end of September. You have to pay for you meal upfront before going into the restaurant this time which was strange. We have been going to this restaurant for many years and this year we were disappointed in the very poor quality and lack of selection in the all you can eat buffet compared to previous years. No ice cream or cream available with desserts and to provide a freezer containing feasts and cornettos as a dessert option when you are paying over 80 pounds for a family of four for dinner is outrageous. Bring back the ever popular ice cream fountain please.Won't be bothering earing here again for a while I'm afraid.

Will start with dinner as that was the 1st meal we had here on our 1st evening. It’s a buffet but the quality of some of the food is very poor. The desserts were nice although could do with cream or ice cream with it. It’s not worth the price for adults although up to 11 it’s just under £10 with unlimited drinks too and the usual children’s food too. My 8 year old enjoyed it. Breakfast time there is the usual breakfast cereals (in wee boxes) and some nice bread for making toast but some of the cooked breakfast is poor quality. The breakfast is nothing special but feel with the price of the rooms it should be better.

We ate here for dinner once and breakfast the two days after. Some of the dinner stuff was okay. The carvery section was actually pretty decent with a selection of three meats. The restaurant offers various well known ice creams for desserts e g. Magnums, Cornetto etc. This was a nice touch. Now the negatives. Most of the dinner food looked and tasted awful. The sausages looked like human fingers, all of the veg was undercooked and freezing. Due to where the restaurant is situated you are about 100 meters from a swimming pool. So while you are having your dinner there is a chlorine smell that fills the air and really put me off my food. Now the breakfast. Probably the worst cooked breakfast I've ever had. Somehow everything tasted the same. The first thing I tried was the baked beans which were disgusting. I knew if the beans were bad then there wasn't much hope. Luckily they served boxed cereal which I had for the remainder of the breakfasts. I'm not a picky eater but thinking back to this restaurant turns my stomach. It might be good value for families but I wouldn't recommend this to any paying customer.

Stayed at the Splash Landings Hotel and was encouraged online to book at the on site “Caribbean Restaurant”- Flambo’s Jambo. Following our visit to the water park we went down to find out it was a buffet “all you can eat” affair (not that I haven’t had good experiences at these). The prices were quite high but thought there’d be plenty on offer. Unfortunately the range of food was very limited and didn’t make much sense (chilli without rice and popadums without anything Indian). There was a Sunday lunch ‘Carvery’ style section (nothing on a Toby’s) and what looked like an attempt of a few worldly dishes to pick from. The dessert was also limited with no ice cream or custard etc but a huge pile of chocolate doughnuts. I don’t hold out much hope for breakfast tomorrow morning….. hope I’m proved wrong.

The food was very bland and certain foods dry as they are kept under hot lamps. Also the food gave me a bad stomach . (Maybe the oils used)The second night the food was the same no different from the previous night which to me made it boring. For £22 a head it should be much better imo. This isn't the first time we've used flambo jambos we were there this time last year and the food was dreadful then but we put it down to covid restrictions . That is why we used it again . We had breakfast twice and sat in different locations and both our tables where wobbling on the centre fixing so every time someone cut something on the plate the whole table moved. We had booked an evening meal but after the breakfast we cancelled, as the Evening buffets we nearly £23 per adult and the breakfast was plentiful but not the best quality of food so it made us feel that the cost of an evening meal for a family of four being being just shy of £100 was not going to be a valued experienced so we eat elsewhere Also it’s worth noting that the bar and show is just above so it’s quiet a noisy environment and the singing was not the best

Stayed in the hotel so booked a table for 7.45pm for dinner. Understand it’s busy but clearly not enough staff. Tables left uncleared whilst people waiting to get in. Ordered drinks first on the app, first lot took around 15 mins. Ordered food and that took over and hour for a chicken, burger and pasta for a child. Ordered second drinks during the meal and they took over 30 mins even though the restaurant had become quieter. Lots of staff running round but not doing much. Food average, nothing special and not really worth the wait.As we stayed in the hotel we had breakfast here too, opted for 9.30am to try and avoid the crowds. Coffee machine broken, no cups and only apple juice. No spoons for cereal but a lady did bring some after asking. No gluten free options. Had to to request. Only had sausage and bread, opted for toast which the kitchen insisted on making rather than just using the toaster, which meant I waited nearly 40 mins (not sure what they were doing as it was a buffet breakfast) gave up In the end and had fruit.Staff were pleasant and well mannered, think they need some good leadership or someone with responsibility as management seemed lacking. We won't be going again. It was loud, chaotic and generally unpleasant. It was like eating in a leisure centre. The staff didn't seem to know what was going on. Food was left on hotplates for serving for too long. Servers didn't know table numbers. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks and when the food arrived it was in a small plastic basket and tasted greasy. It was overpriced - £13 for Mac n Cheese which was lumpy so daughter didn't eat it and £14 for a burger and chips which were also half left. The food was the worst I’ve had in my life - jerk chicken was like leather and under the skin was a load of water, smelled fried. The gravy was like water with no taste served with a few leaves, a greasy watermelon slice (?) and hips which had been refried about 30 times I’m guessing. Trying to order ice cream after the meal was hard work - it wasn’t on the app and trying to get a member of staff who could deal with it was a task in itself! Very limited menu which I understand due to covid but the food on menu was very random and portions were small and over priced The macaroni was £13.00 and you litterally got a bowl of macaroni with no sides which was under cooked and bland. The kids meals were dry and tasteless to and cost £7.00 for 3 Goujons chips and beans which at best were below average. Meal arrived in 4 minutes from ordering. This cant of been freshly made. Disappointing especially at the prices charged. The order system was slow and you really needed WiFi to connect but signal was poor. It was very noisy and hot which I wouldn't of mind but the noise was just noise and unbearable. Not enjoyable when trying to have a family meal. I would not recommend this at all and alot of other people were complaining and had a nicer meal at a chain restaurant for quarter of the price The night before, I wish I had just driven that hour back to that hotel/restaurant we had stayed at.Alton towers and especially this hotel/restaurant was advertised as relaxing family and kid friendly. Food there was poor as was customer service, we waited over and hour for food and it was awful! They did however refund and send us back to Flambos for night two! Here we saw the return of super Joey with his fantastic customer service, but also brilliant Jess! Jess served us without knowledge of our previous experience, she stepped in and blew our previous experience out the water, friendly, quirky and brilliant at conversing with guests! Both Joey and Jess even took the time out to talk to us at the end of the meal which was fantastic, safe to say they enjoyed a well deserved tip!!This is what memories are made of.

We didn’t actually stay to order, the menu choice was so poor, there was nothing any of us wanted, and we’re not fussy eaters. I have a gluten allergy and the only thing that was suitable from the menu was two vegan salads - neither of which I would have eaten. Not only that, but it was all very over priced, with most dishes being £15+ for a burger. For such a large audience, I’d have thought they’d have offered more choice given this is the restaurant that caters for the Splash Landings hotel. Very disappointing.

Our party of 6 stayed in the Splash landing hotel for 3 nights. For our first night we had dinner in Mambo's We also had breakfast for 2 of the mornings here. For any dining experience in Alton Towers resort make sure you book in advance as early as possible. Booking on the day will leave you with a 9pm dining time or potentially no availability. Dinner:Ordering is done by scanning a QR code, entering a table number and then ordering via the app. (This is the case for every bar/restaurant in the resort at the moment) Food wise we ordered the Goat curry, Macaroni cheese, Beef burgers and a chicken burger. The food quality was poor, there's no denying it. The goat curry tasted like the frozen 99p Ross curries you can buy, the macaroni cheese was very unpleasant and tasteless (think pasta in a bechemel sauce topped with a savoury crumble) , the burgers were ok and to be fair the better meals. Service was poor, staff are busy however there are times that it felt almost an inconvenience at being there and there was a distinct lack of customer service, checking the table etc. It should also be stated that due to its position you are right next to the water resort so expect a hot humid temperature which WILL affect your experience. Imagine a swimming pool cafe and you have that kind of humidity. Price wise this is not cheap, you are very much in the grounds of a resort so expect to pay £14 per meal. BreakfastThe experience at breakfast is different with the restaurant changing to a buffet style breakfast very much like a Premier Inn. This was part of our package with our room so cost is unknown for those not staying at Splash Landings. There is a significant availability of products, hot breakfast includes Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, Toast, grilled tomato, baked beans, mini hash browns and mushrooms. Hot food is served by staff like a school canteen but it worked well, food provided was plentiful and was of a quality that has brought it up to a 2 star review. Cereals are on offer along with indiviually wrapped muffins, croissants and pain de chocolate.Overall, the breakfast saves this restaurant from a dismal 1 star review. I would recommend not going here for dinnner until significant improvements are made to customer service and also food quality.

We're currently at the Alton Towers Resort, spending two nights at the Alton Towers Hotel. To try and have variety we booked our first night's dinner at Flambo's Jumbo, I really wished we hadn't. As soon as we walked in we could see that although the restaurant was super quiet, there were left over baskets, cutlery etc on tables that were empty, not a great sign. But we sat down and looked at the online menu. On the adult menu a total of 4 dishes were available; 3 burgers and one cauliflower cheese dish, no grills, no salads, very poor indeed, especially as none of this was mentioned by the staff. We ordered, our food arrived after 15 mins but no sign of our drinks. O asked a member of staff, 10 mins later still no drinks. I asked again and then had to stop my meal to provide proof that I'd ordered drinks via the app. Not great at all. By the time the drinks arrived we'd finished our meals. We came back to the Alton Towers Hotel for drinks which were lovely and we're eating in the Secret Garden restaurant tomorrow night which hopefully will be a totally different experience.

Me & my boyfriend stayed at the Splash Landing Hotel at Alton Towers for a couple of nights. The room was fine, it was clean enough. The restaurant however (Flambo Jambo) was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had out!! The service was poor, the food was even worse! I paid for one of the most expensive things on the menu expecting it to be nice (a salmon curry) and I’ve had better plane food to be honest. My partner had macaroni cheese which was warm around the edges and cold in the middle and had no flavour, his nachos were the crumbs at the bottom of the packet rather than tortillas, with a tiny bit of cheese sauce in the centre at the top, so the rest was really dry, and it’s not cheap in there! We were so appalled we cancelled our booking for the following day! We managed to get a table at The Secret Garden restaurant which was so much nicer! Really lovely staff, really great food, it was still pricey but I don’t mind paying more money for decent food! DO NOT GO TO FLAMBO JAMBO!! We wouldn’t stay at the splash landing hotel again, we’d stay in the other Alton towers hotel, disgusting!

I have seen all the bad reviews so I was ready for a bad experience. (Wasn’t availability in the roller coaster restaurant and we stayed in splash landings and had to eat somewhere). Looks like we were lucky but we had a nice dinner and breakfast the next morning. The staff was friendly and the food was nice too. I don’t think it was overpriced, similar prices anywhere else. And this is a themed restaurant in a hotel so I don’t know what we’re people expecting. I personally like that we could order and pay through our phone and was served in 20 minutes (4 starters, 3mains and 4 drinks). Breakfast was plenty and lovely. The problem is people usually leave reviews when they have a bad experience.

A two night stay at splash landings meant we were obliged to eat at this restaurant four times!!! Two breakfasts, one night In the restaurant and one room service meal (room service meal was to avoid eating in that restaurant again but we found out when we had to send the food back it was sent by flambo Jambos. Food is just edible at best but horrendously overpriced but what makes the dining experience worse is the service. I guess the staff are sick of complaints and are unable to do anything about it. It’s probably more likely the staff will change next year rather than the management of the restaurants at Alton towers. My little boy thinks the theme park is the best place in the world but after coming for a short break every year for the past 3 Years I can’t justify coming back again to be disappointed by the hotel restaurants yet again. Swearing and rude staff, orders wrong, burnt cheap pizzas (ham and mushroom arrived with no ham and no explanation) and the prices of a high end restaurant.

Booked a table for my daughters birthday. We were seated quickly, and used the scan app to order food which was expected. We as a family are not fussy eaters btw but this was awful. Firstly- ordering drinks their was no ciders, no Budweiser, no fruit juices. We managed on what was ‘available’ to drink. starters- cold chicken wings , soggy greasy mushrooms. Disgusting! Mains chewy burger which had lots of gristle, aubergine curry was awful, just a bland curry sauce and chopped aubergine chunks thrown in which was a whopping £15 , Ordered two children’s sausage and chips (instead of the mash it usually comes with) asked the waitress if she could make sure the my came with chips, arrived both with mash. £99 bill later! Waitress asked if food was ok when she went to collect the plates, we were hesitant to answer and it didn’t go unnoticed as she made the point of saying ‘that’s what theme park food is like’ I wouldn’t of minded the expensive bill if the food was half decent. Really sorry to say won’t eat hear again!! Shame really that the restaurants seem to let Alton towers down

We had breakfast after staying at splash landings. The scambled egg was inedible, the pancakes cold and rubbery, the toast burned and the juice from concentrate. My daughter who eats everything couldn’t even finish her sausage it was so tasteless. The portions were massive but we left nearly everything on our plates as it was so horrid. Really gutting as we’ve stayed at the park before in the enchanted village and the food there was amazing. Just very disappointing.

Terrible food and generally an awful experience. Made a reservation here as it was advertised as a buffet, where we thought it would be quick and easy to get food for our young family. But in fact the buffet was closed and you had to order to your table. We booked a table at 6.15, ordered using the QR code table service within 10 minutes but the food (cold starters) took over 40minutes to arrive. The mains took even longer and was served cold, twice! The food was bland and not worth the amount of money it was priced at. The staff were polite but completely unprepared to serve under the covid compliant measures. They were often too busy preparing and delivering food as part of room service/ operating an Uber style system to attend to actual diners in the restaurant. I would not come again, nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.

Food eventually turned up. To be fair the food was very nice. But with the long delay of food, limited food choice, which caused kids to kick off and arguments on the table, it just ruined our whole dinner experience. It wasn’t the staffs fault, I think they must have been understaffed and were just following the the new order of things in relation to COVID. Unfortunately it’s not working and I think it needs to be reviewed.

Went here over the weekend as a last minute from staying over couldn't get in anywhere else. For an all you can eat there isn't a lot of variety, the people serving the food couldn't exactly hear us so putting the wrong food on the wrong plate (not their fault as loud, Perspex screens) but for the price the food was cold and tasteless as well. Wouldn't recommend.

During my current stay at Splash Landing Hotel (see separate review) we ate both breakfasts & 1 evening meal in Flambo Jambo’s restaurant. You need to book a time slot for breakfast (I recommend doing this before your stay to ensure you get the time slot you want) & this year they’ve gone back to needing to book a table for dinner too. A couple of years ago they changed Flambo’s to just a walk in restaurant but I’m assuming you now have to book because of COVID. Be interesting to see if they keep the booking system when things finally get back to normal. Again I saw reviews saying the food was awful but I don’t know what they were eating but I thoroughly enjoyed the food there as usual. There were a couple of things which confused me a bit considering what’s going on the moment. With breakfast they take you to you table & now bring your mugs, glasses, knives & forks & cereal bowls at the same time which was great...but they don’t give you spoons for your cereal or teaspoons. They still provide them but you have to pick them up yourselves from a basket not knowing how many other guests have touched those spoons & whether their hands were clean or not. It is still an all you can eat buffet but now instead of helping yourself they have staff behind the counter & behind plexi glass & you just tell them what you want they plate it up for you. Even things like toast, they do the toast & plate it up for you. I can also highly recommend the pancakes with maple syrup, they were gorgeous! With the drinks, you still go & help yourself to tea/coffee, juice from the machines which I found odd seeing how they are high touch points. Same with getting milk for cereal, everyone is touching the milk dispenser. They have got hand sanitiser by the drinks machines though I didn’t see many people using it. I think the spoons, milk & drinks machine issue needs to be looked at given the times we are living in currently. Overall the cleanliness was very good, saw staff clearing tables, wiping them down & wiping the chairs & any highchairs that were used. One complaint I had regarding breakfast, on our first morning we were shown our table, given cutlery etc. Got some juice & cereal & then both me & my friend went to get more food & we couldn’t have been away from our table for more than 5 minutes but in that time one of the staff had cleared our table (even though I still had a full glass of orange juice & my friend had a full glass of water & my knife & fork was still wrapped up neatly in my napkin), & was giving our table to another family!! We went up to the member of staff & told them that was our table & all he said was “oh” & then moved this family to another empty table. We had no apology, no offer of replacement cutlery, mugs, glasses, etc we had to ask for that ourselves after we explained what happened to another member of staff & they did give us replacements but still no apology!!! In hindsight one of us should’ve stayed at the table (this is what we did for the remainder of our stay), but we saw other families doing the same thing. Still don’t understand why our table was cleared so quickly as there was plenty of empty tables around where we were sat so why weren’t they used first?!Dinner at Flambo’s was the same set up in regards to you are given your knives & forks when you are seated, staff plate up your food etc but again any spoons you needed for soup or desserts you had to pick up yourself from a basket. There are set prices for dinner depending on your age £19.95 for adults & prices reduce depending on the age of your children, but all prices include unlimited soft drinks but again you get your drinks yourself. One complaint about dinner though, a better system or more staff is needed to deal with paying for dinner & getting drinks. We booked a table for 8pm & we got to the restaurant for 8pm & joined the queue to pay which was quite long. They only had one member of staff serving so they had to take all the payment & do all the drinks by themselves. After queuing about 20 minutes another member of staff came to help & finally after 25 minutes we were able to pay for our meal & get seated. I find this unacceptable to keeps guests waiting that long when they had pre-booked a table. I much preferred the old system of paying at your table at the end of your meal. They could’ve done with more staff in the restaurant itself too as we noticed several guests just walking in without paying first as there was no one manning the entrance. Not blaming the staff that were there at all. They were working as hard & as fast as they could, they needed extra help in my opinion.

Went here for family meal whilst staying at the hotel. Paid before going to sit down, got over charged to start with until we pointed this out and got sorted, although i agree with others it is very much over prices for what you get and standard of food! Got showed to our and left to it which was fine. Theres a variety selection of food, some of which is quite random to be honest. Its standard food at its best but filled a hole. You get basic drinks and desert included in the price so just make the most of it, after all you pay enough for it.We went when it was less busy and the place was fine but i can see how people have rates it low if it got really busy i probably wouldn’t bother.

Honestly can’t fault the staff, very polite but the food . This is so overpriced for what looks like a poor quality school dinner. First off you can’t be seated till you’ve paid for your food. For a park that’s overly concerned about social distancing (constantly spoken of over tannoy speaker) the space given to queue is non existent. You can’t help but be huddled together. Our table was booked for 8.45pm, by the time we’d messed about queuing to pay and get our drinks we were then told a drink my husband wanted could only be bought in the upstairs bar (red wine) so off he went to queue again. By the time we sat down it was almost 9.15pm then we had to queue again to get food by which time the restaurant was slowly clearing out and tables being cleared ready to close. The staff also apologised as they cleaned around us, really felt like we were being rushed and had no time to relax. Given the restaurant is in one of the resort hotels we were happy to pay the price to get more of the Alton Towers experience so really expected more than the budget restaurant food that we got. I would seriously recommend people not use this restaurant and seek an alternative place to eat. We will definitely do as others did in previous comments and visit a restaurant outside of the park next time.

So we visited here as part Of an overnight stay at splash landings . Really disappointed to say that the hotel itself and flambo’s was total chaos and I don’t see how it is deemed Covid secure . The queue to pay for dinner was a shambles it was a long queue which you had to squeeze by to get to the lifts and stairs To get to hotel rooms, Therefore getting extremely close to other people who may I say lots of them had no masks on even though according to Alton towers they are mandatory in hotel foyers unless sitting down to eat . Also the queue was right next to the arcade so on top of that you had people trying to get into the arcade. It took my mum and I 35 minutes to get to the front of the queue to pay, by this time we were late for our booked time slot . The guy sitting people down was rushed off his feet, and we were sat at a table which was not 2 metres away From the table behind us every-time I got up I knocked on to the chair behind me . The food was absolutely diabolical for £20 per adult and £15 per child . It was warm not hot, the chef behind the counter serving was miserable didn’t see her crack a smile once and didn’t even look like she wanted to be there . The queues weren’t controlled queuing up for food . The desserts were just slabs of cheesecake on a plate and pre packed cookies and biscuits .My family and I only went up for 1 dish of food as it was just chaotic In there, considering it was a all-you-can-eat can eat Buffett There was no value in money . My kids just had these hard chicken things with cold chips and beans and I paid £15 for that !! So so disappointed never stayed in the Alton towers on site hotels before this was a great for my 30th but I would never stay there again and certaintly Wouldn’t eat at flambos again. When I went back to collect my things on leaving there was a guy taking people’s temperatures on entering, well there was no one doing that yesterday when we arrived. Seriously needs sorting out especially the paying queue and food process . Also give your loyal customers value for money not a cold Buffett served by someone who looks like she’d rather be at home . Alton towers theme park staff absolutely amazing and so so polite, luckily you have these guys shame about hotel staff !

For £20 each nearly was the worst buffet I have ever been too. Eaten here before and was not this bad. How they have done it in COVID times is very good, Staff from behind screens serving your food telling them what you would like then passing them the plate. All very good! That's where it ends though the selection was truly awful. One type of pizza, one type of pasta some horrible chicken nuggets very little salad to choose. So bad we chose to eat elsewhere the 2nd night. Avoid!!

well we were dreading our evening meal which we pre-booked for our stay in the hotel having read previous reviews saying the evening buffet was over priced and not even worthy as 'prison food'. Nevertheless we decided it was an easy option to eat before bed and an early entry to the park the next day and that we would risk it.The price of the buffer at £20 per adult and £10 per child was inclusive of unlimited sofa fountain drinks which would easily have pushed our bill up by £2.50 per drink in a standard chain such as F&Bs etc. From what we saw the alcoholic drink selection looked good but we weren't interested in that and can't comment on the price. The staff were pleasant and chatty, interacting with the kids who were excited about their upcoming day in the theme park. They were also attentive, picking up spillages and cleaning down tables and chairs as soon as guests left. There were 2 buffet lines running. Ok the choices were limited but for the price I can't seem why people would complain. There were bbq ribs and chicken wings, noodles and prawn crackers as well as quorn chicken korma and rice, lasagne and margarita pizza. The usual kids food of chicken nuggets, chips and beans and veggie lasagne. There was a carvery section which was clearly unpopular and whilst the veg and Yorkie puddings looked edible, the turkey was a little dry. But the kids were enticed by beige food as they would be and likely would have ordered from a laminated kids menu in any chain restaurant and for the cost I was happy to eat a limited selection of food for myself. I understand in pre covid times there would be a salad cart but for those wanting a salad they had some pre prepped plastic containers with a standard salad within. Deserts were pre packed from Greenalghs bakery - vanilla cheesecake, scones and choc fudge cake and great quality. There were individual ice cream pots in a freezer which were ideal portion size and a basket of cookies and ginger bread men. It would have been nice to have the option for a hot drink with our meal but the coffee machine was switched off and we had to go upstairs to the bar for a coffee.Breakfast was what you would expect. Fruit juices, hot drinks. Yoghurt fruit cereal croissants pan au chocolate and muffins. Hot options pancakes sausage beans bacon mushrooms hash browns boiled eggs or watery scrambled eggs, toast and jam. Again what you would expect from any Premier Inn etc Absolutely great value for money Not gourmet. Served a purpose!

Hi. I visited flambos on the 15th August. I must give a shoutout to 3 incredible members of staff, they all deserve a pay rise. Firstly let’s start with Chloe who was on the door, she saved 2020. She wouldn’t stop talking to my child like it was her own, she was obsessed with my kids and asked them so many questions about their life. Then my child Roxanne-Junior started crying as he realised he’s got to do his SATS next year. But Ben stepped in, ran towards us really fast shouting what’s up WHAT IS UP ARE YOU OKAY? It was just so amazing. Ben then said the inspirational line “if I can do it then so can you” Ben then told my son of his SATS experience. Ben then kept talking to my kid and even offered to help with revision if we visited again. Finally, Ish. He was smiling like a Cheshire Cat all night. He wouldn’t stop smiling. He asked how our lives had been, our experiences and our journey to happiness. He was so interested in our lives it was really fantastic. I then offered him a 20p tip and he refused and said “no, please keep your money you’ve worked hard for it” he then kept saying hi to us throughout the night, asking how our evening was going and being so friendly. These three staff members are amazing. Please let them know.

We’ve eaten here several times before when staying at the resort so it was interesting to see the changes with the Covid restrictions being in place. There weren’t many occupied tables and we were all very spaced out.The buffet is served by staff rather than being self service and you may have to queue for some of the food but there weren’t hordes of people so we could socially distance when necessary.Salads were pre-packed and there was the normal variety of main meals on offer. The puddings were regularly replenished but the chocolate fudge cake went very quickly! Also the ice cream was in little tubs and there no sweets to accompany it much to the children’s disappointment!!Overall, the food was nice and the children always enjoy a buffet rather than fixed menu dinner so it met our needs!(When we were there they said the coke dispenser wasn’t working so the only drinks available as part of the buffet package were water, orange juice and apple juice. The machine was due to be repaired (apparently) this weekend. You could pay extra for alcoholic/ non alcoholic drinks)

Ok so I have never been to Alton towers before. Every year for my children's birthday we go away and stay over night at a theme park so this year it was alton towers (CBeebies land). My husband and I have 2 children, aged 5 and birthday boy 4 years old. I booked 2 day ticket, a overnight stay at splash landings hotel, dinner/breakfast at Flambos Jambo and a photo pass with crazy golf included. After a 3 hour drive we arrived and parked at our hotel car park. We was told that we could walk straight down and get into the theme park without queuing YAY! Seeing the queue when driving in filled me with dread. 10 minute walk into the theme park, we had our temperature/bags checked and we where let in. There where no maps available and having not been before we had to navigate using our phones. We realised that CBeebies was located the furthest end of the park so started walking down. The park was clean and not too busy, considering it was the day after the schools had broken up for the 6 weeks summer holiday. After walking through we realised that a lot of the booths where closed food stalls/photo booths/arcade games. We decided to get a refillable drinks cup only to discover we would need to walk all the way back and go to a booth that supplied these. After we managed to get our refill cups we then realised that the cash machine also was located at another end of the park... more walking. We got into CBeebies and the children where very tired of all the walking by now however after a few rides and not a lot of queuing they soon cheered up a few of the rides/attractions where closed. After the postman pat ride we had our picture taken and proceeded to the booth to get our picture. HOWEVER once again after enquiring, we found out you needed a wristband to have the pictures added to your phone pass. Wristbands would need to be given either at the entrance or a attended photo booth once again most photo booths where closed... After finding a attended photo booth at the other end of the park we managed to have our picture added to our wristband enquiring about picture opportunities we where told out of 3 in CBeebies land 2 were closed. At this point the children had had enough which was understandable so made our way back to the entrance where we had come through on arrival. HOWEVER this was now closed and locked??? We asked at a food stall and they said we would need to walk back through the woodland walk. This took about 15/20 minutes!!! we made our way around the back of CBeebies hotel and up through the car park and back to our carpark and got Into our hotel. We checked in and they took a card deposit of £1.00. The home room was nice with bunkbeds, however I thought that due to my children's ages 4&5 we would of been given a room with twin beds as bunkbeds are not suitable for under 6 years. The bathroom was clean and had a bath which was great as after the long day the children needed a nice bath. We went down to the restaurant to find that we needed to pay £52.60 (I think) for a buffet all inclusive dinner. It wasn't a problem the food was ok however I new my children wouldn't eat much and I didn't either but your stuck so not great. They did offer in room service but once again you pay over the odds due to being where you are. The hotel was quite and in the morning we went down to breakfast only to find they open for breakfast at 7:30 would of thought they would of opened a bit earlier, but we went back to the hotel room and amused the kids for a bit then headed back down. We got seated and breakfast was the usual continental. We went back to the room got our stuff and headed back out to get early entrance to the park at 9:30. Once again the children where moaning about the walking... We planned our day and headed straight back to CBeebies land where we realised a few of the rides where not available and neither was the photos we got 2 photos yet I had prepaid £25.00 for a photo pass when I would of been better paying individually as they were closed... so completed the rides that were open and didn't queue to much, after we had seen bing and visited the sea life aquarium we wanted to refill out refill cup only to find we needed to reactivate the chip at the other end of the park... my husband went as I couldn't put the kids through the walk back and forth. The queues from 11:30 where getting bigger an bigger and explaining to the kids about the rides and the waiting they really didn't want to bother... We headed back to the car park and headed home. Overall we won't be going back until the kids are A LOT older and ask to go. I feel there are other parks that are more suitable for younger ones (rides closer together) better put together layer out. overall 3/5* paid around £450. £300 for 2 day pass, over night stay, digipass and crazy golf. £60 for dinner 2 adult 2 kids, £20.00 lunch for 4 (hotdogs chips) £60.00 shops-toys/arcade games/ice creams/doughnuts drinks.

Nearly £70 for a family of 4, with 2 kids. Service was good, but same price as pre COVID, but with no salad bar or ice cream dispenser. Food was average and same as you’d get in any cheap ‘all you can eat’ on the high street, but with Alton Towers premium.

Same evening meal every day, quite disappointing. Sliced Turkey or Margarita Pizza or veggie meal. Breakfasts good but not always hot enough. Orange juice to die for

I should have written this in January but never got round to it. The food was basic but edible (just about) even though my friend broke her tooth on the rock hard potatoes. But she didn’t mind. The staff were incredible, huge shoutout to Chloe and Ish. They were amazing, worked so incredibly hard and honestly deserve a medal or some reward. I hope you pass on the incredible review to them. Nothing was too much for Chloe C she was outstanding. Her performance was exceptional, she made sure our food was okay, got wine glasses for us with ice, she spoke to my child like it was her own. Honestly incredible. Ish was very friendly. Wouldn’t stop smiling at my child and was so chatty at the table asking us about our trip and where we were from etc. Thanks guys you made our trip! If we come again we hope to see you.

Love the selection of food here but they can have a little more I suppose like burgers for the kids and poppadoms to go with the Indian food and roast potatoes with the roasts. other than that very good all round selection of food, would recommend for those who want a mixed theme

Stayed at the hotel. Queues were ridiculously long everywhere (bar, tills, restaurant), tables not cleared efficiently. Food very basic.

Paid £44 for two adults only to be given basic luke warm food. They said it’s a world wide buffet which is laughable. The carvery section was full of oven food. Oven roast potatoes , frozen veg and tasteless gravy. Tasted like a school dinner. Never seen such a small selection of food before. “Italian” section only had one pizza and tasteless pasta. “Indian” section only had rice, naan and one curry”. And don’t even get me started on the “Chinese” section. All in total there was probably only 12 dishes and some salad stuff , which is ridiculous for a buffet. And on top of the tiny selection the food was so basic and tasteless !! Don’t waste your money on this place. Alton towers hotel and entertainment is perfect but they need to do better with the restaurants at these places , it really ruins it. We left very dissatisfied.

I had young teenage adult , 11year old boy and mum . Honestly the choice was great for the price 45 pounds and we all had a main meal ( with bread rolls) and desert . Gammon chips and veg for my boy , pasta for my daughter and I had a lovely salad .for desert we had trifle,ice-cream and donuts and I had cheesecake all washed down with lemonade . The staff were courteous and pleasent. You could eat as much as you wanted . For forty five pounds I though it was great value with fantastic choice. The chairs were a little hard that's my only criticism. So that's why I've given it a four and not a five .

We had dinner here and although more than I would normally spend on a meal for me and my granddaughter I knew there was something we all would eat.. It is an all you can eat buffet with a good selection of different types of food.. All the things kids like plus a good salad bar and food that adults and people with intolerance's can eat.. I have an odd intolerance and staff where able to answer questions about the food on offer and whether they contained what my body doesn't like. I only wish that they offered tea or coffee to drink as well and cold drinks but, that's because I prefer tea to cold drinks.

Dark dirty tables they NEED a good wipe ! Staff moody to say it’s an all you can eat buffet and your paying 20£ a head you expect a few simple things : Dirty plates moved off tables ( we had a stack on our about 10 plates high staff were just stood chatting ) TERRIBLE Wide selection of food ( very limited and not piping hot) Cheery staff I mean come on it’s a family complex wood it hurt to smile ?

Went to the winking man over the weekend met lovely staff great food and amazing management! Staff were very welcoming and fast service. Also noticed some campervans parked up some had electrical hookups so you can park here over night for a small fee but get 10% off your food and drink amazing!

Last minute booking for tapas night on a Thursday. The pub was very busy, but that didn't affect the service. Food was served as quick as could be and was delicious. Will be booking again

We had not been to The Wheel for quite a while so decided to walk up and have tea. This is a lovely, old school traditional pub. The food was really good. The menu is exactly as you'd expect from a decent pub. Nothing fancy, no pages and pages to read through so you can't see the wood for the trees, just a good menu of real food at excellent prices. My husband had the lamb shank in red wine special and I had scampi. Portions were a good size and we both really enjoyed it. As it is such excellent value I am sure we will be back.
