Five Rivers Restaurant in Mole Valley

First visit to Five Rivers. Friendly staff and the curry was excellent. Generous portions and tasty. Thoroughly enjoyable. Will be back.

Ordered the Tandoori mixed grill as the main. Have ordered it a few times and it’s always been good. Tonight it was ok although not as great as previous as was a little dry plus unfortunately they forgot to put in the yoghurt and mint dip. Will definitely use again but will double check the order is complete before leaving the restaurants.

Top quality food and great service.

The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff are professional, friendly and attentive but the star is the food. A great menu with ample portions and quality ingredients make for delicious dishes. Highly recommended and well worth regular visits.

I have dined here before, but not for a long time. The food was pleasant and recommended. I did not think the samosas where worth over £2.00 each, they are small, very small with just nothing to them. Main courses were plenty and tasty. It cost for four poppadoms, 4 diet Cokes, two onion bhaji, two veg samosa, two rice, a chicken Madras and chicken Tikka masala a total of just over £74.00! They add a a service charge which for me personally is a pet hate, I prefer to make the decision on how much to tip. The food was good, the restaurant tidy and clean, service as expected. I would like to go back here but sadly I'm priced out at this level for future visits. If you can afford it, recommended.

Looks really nice inside, The chicken was cooked really nicely, service was nice wasn't too bad on the price and I'd say it's definitely worth it

A fabulous restaurant with good attentive and caring service. The food is second to none. It is authentic, tasty, and fresh and has a feel of genuine home cooked food. We were in the area for the weekend attending a wedding and ended up getting a takeaway and brought it back to London. If in the area, definitely give it go. It will not disappoint.

This was a rather disappointing meal. I ordered the lemon rice which had chopped lemon peel instead of zest in and tasted bitter. My curry, a chicken roghon was oily and had little flavour. I hope the chef improves his dishes as this was not value for money.

This restaurant is really authentic Indian restaurant with wonderful interior and extra ordinary maharaja's theme. Moreover it has has a great and authentic taste of Indian food with extremely nice culinary and restaurant staff is ambience and cooperative. I must recommend this restaurant to all the guests coming to Prague. Musr visit once... You will love it.

All curry’s had no flavour, was incredibly boring. Plain Popadoms had more flavour than any of the main dishes. Would not recommend

Great Indian restaurant right in the heart of Leatherhead. The food is delicious and the thing I really like is the attention to small detail which is always the sign of a good restaurant. Also really like the decor as it looks like a traditional Indian restaurant but with an up market feel. A+.

We have been visiting or ordering take away from Five Rivers for years and the standard has always been high (on the rare occasion we've been led astray to other local Indian restaurants, we have always regretted it!). Always reliable and always lovely food in generous portions. Would always recommend.

Living in New Zealand we often crave for a good indian meal. This place never disappoints with jalfrezi, dansak and masala the main choice and each enjoyable. Starting with Kingfisher on draft and huge poppadoms and spice mix. All went down a treat.. Service was very good and knowing of the hefty 12.5% service charge we still go there..Ok its not a cheap place to dine but we do always enjoy it

Feel a little ripped off to be honest. Between 2 people we had 4 poppodoms (@£1 each !!) chutney to go with poppodoms £1.98. One chicken curry and rice / veg samosa, rice, 2 side dishes and naan. Lager and and undrinkable very flat soda and lime =£64 (including £7 service charge) Positives: food was hot. I won’t return and they will just price themselves out of the market

Too costly and misleading rates. It is usually crowded and there was a delay in service. Extra service charge is levied. The food was oily. Not recommended

My friend chose the restaurant for dinner as he’d been quite a few times before! The staff were brilliant, really helpful and very friendly. The food all arrived quickly and tasted lovely! I didn’t even know it existed despite driving past hundreds of times. Looking forward to going back!

Chicken madras and bombay potato inedible. Chicken tokka masala was average. Phoned up and was offered a new meal but at 8.45 was much too late so declined. No refund offered. Food will feed the bin now. Very disappointing experience.

We looked at menu items online , we thought this looks reasonable, unfortunately they haven’t updated prices leading us to think it was much cheaper it came to £57 for 3 people , the food was cold extremely bland and sent us wrong dishes , never again avoid this rip off place

I am a fairly regular customer and every time I order something is missing. The last time it was a main course so we had to share the remainder of the food between us and this time they left off the naan bread, but still charged me. Check your order before the rider leaves would be my advice!

The prices charged in the restaurant are between 20 and 40% higher than those shown on the menu in the restaurant window by the entrance (and then they add a 12.5% service charge). For example the chef's special was shown as £18 in the window, but £25 inside (£28.12 with service). Bhajis were below £5 in the window, but £5.95 inside. This shows a contempt for customers and a total lack of honesty and integrity which I find unacceptable: for that I intend never to go there again. I will not comment on their food - they don't deserve a food review. As a postscript I think this explains an earlier review where someone found they were paying much more for a delivery than they were led to expect.

Popped in on the off chance as it looked very attractive from the window. for the 2 of us, shocked by the bill. 2 drinks each, a main each and 1 side each - £96...... (didn't expect that! also the 12.5% automatic service charge) won't be going back.........

Food is a bit tasteless I’m afraid

We ordered directly on the website and it never arrived within the delivery timeframe they gave. So we chased after it was 30mins late. The girl just unapologetically said they were busy and she had no idea how long it would be. A further 30mins later, it's now an hour late, we chased again. Still had no idea, still ridiculously shrug shouldering. Eventually it arrived, cold, disgustingly oily, flavourless and with a laughing driver. Literally. Absolutely diabolical. No apology, not bothered in the slightest. I can safely say I will never be eating their tasteless rubbish ever again. And the service was horrific. Total disappointment

Massive Shame. Had been struggling to find a decent curry house for a while, finally bit the bullet and tried this one down the road from me, became my new go too! Was ordering delivery’s and collections almost every other day. But the last delivery I ordered and this time collection, has been nothing short of disappointing. The chicken has been so so tough on both occasions I can barely get my fork through it. Gave them the benefit of the doubt last time as the sauce tasted lovely, but this now being the second time they chicken was so tough to chew, I don’t think I’ll be returning. On the hunt again! Also a massive shame as staff are very polite and everything else is 10/10. But your chicken is way too tough recently!

Excellent food. Bit noisy but busy Saturday night so would expect that.

Didnt book but dropped in and the place was very busy. We got a table and the service was attentive and the food was excellent. The classic CTM here is great. Oddly the cheese and chilli naan had little filling and didnt taste of much but everything else was top notch. Pricey even for this area but will return.

Food was Abysmal! Absolutely disgusting. The meat was overcooked and felt re heated. Curry had no flavour and it was unpalatable. Nothing Indian about this place. Stay away.

Not the first time I have eaten at this restaurant. but this time they excelled themselves. The welcome was very friendly and the surroundings well presented. The food was outstanding. Three of us had different dishes and all were delicious. I am a keen follower of indian and asian food, and this was as good as I have experienced. Highly recommended.

Food delivered a little early but no problem. Food was magnificent. I have been eating Indian curries for well over sixty years and this rated up with the best.

Fabulous food, great service, lovely atmosphere. Visiting from Derbyshire will definitely eat here again.

The food is great but having ordered a takeaway which on website showed £34, clicked on order delivery which goes via Just Eat (even though in same colour and next to their website button) I was charged £51.80 by Just Eat! Messaged restaurant no reply received, 4 days later rang and told he had replied and they were busy as it was a Friday night and to contact Just Eat as they were nothing to do with them! Won't be using them again, lesson learnt.

7 of us went for a meal. The service was good and all of the dishes were excellent. 2 people are gluten intolerant and were well catered for.

Lovely place but not cheap. Brilliant food and staff.

The place was dead when we arrived but they said they were open. Service was rushed - starter had barely arrived before we were offered the main. Then as we ate the staff were clearly checking their watching and hoping we would leave. Not seen a bill arrive within seconds of the request before. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and the ambience is great and the starter and mains were excellent. Would return.

I ordered a delivery last night for my birthday and am so happy with the food and the service. Will be treating myself to another meal very soon. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Whilst visiting from NZ we crave a good curry. Eaten twice here in a week and food was great. Dansak, madras and jalfrezi were yum. Big poppodams and dips plus naan’s were good. Ok it’s pricey but food is good and guess the service charge is what it is. Service was good. Guess no one has to eat there! Alternative would be crap food at a cheaper price. Such is life

Nice food some more spices for flavour would go down well Bit disappointing on Tandoori king prawns only 4 for 19.95 ! Bookham tandoori fills the container 👍 Overall very nice would order again

If you visit this restaurant it would be worthwhile checking your bank balance prior to being seated as you will be in for a shock at the end. Worse than that they charge 12.5% service in Leatherhead! Worse than that it’s not mentioned anywhere on their menus or on their web page. If you like being charged £1.15 for one poppodum and an additional £1.15 to have some dips with it and £4.00 for a glass of lemonade dispensed from a family sized plastic supermarket bottle then go large. Otherwise steer clear. Food very average & hugely over priced. Service is, as per other comments on here, very efficient although that seems to be largely due to lack of custom.

We have eaten at many Indian takeaways/restaurants in London and Surrey. 5 Rivers is by far the worst. The food is average, the same gravy is applied to pretty much all dishes. And they charge pretty steep for the mediocre food. What also put us off was the fact that they charged us £10 for a couple of poppadoms! Their explanation being, they provided some chutney/dips alongside! And what's woese, they take out the table cloth right off your table WHILE you are still eating! The place doesn't run clearly. Wouldn't set foot in that place ever again.

Chicken was really chewy and really really dry poppadoms were about seven days old can't really put in the words just horrible it was

Curry main dishes were okay; onion bhaji were SO large that they were under-cooked in the middle. Massively let down by the driver trying to deliver to the wrong address and thus everything was very cold.

Has become mine and my partners’ go to Indian in the area. Always welcoming, friendly servers who are attentive and helpful. Food is always lovely, especially the Chicken Tikka Starter 😍, the draught lager is crisp and refreshing and I feel the restaurant is good...

Food delivery was held up a little but arrived hot and delicious only 20 minutes late. Only thing I'd say is that as with a lot of food deliveries the portions are little too big, which to most wouldn't be a problem

Good food and service but very pricey. Can’t recommend because of this.

This restaurant is absolutely AMAZING. I came from Canada and specifically wanted to eat here, my expectations were EXCEEDED. The entire experience is exquisite. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and it feels like a touch of home (India), it definitely makes the experience more immersive! The Tandoori King Prawn Puri and Tikka starters are absolutely to die for! I also noticed that the menu is vegetarian friendly🌱! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ceylon Curry and ordered extra to take home. The Naan was sooooo fluffy! As someone who eats Indian food often, this was beyond amazing! I enjoyed some Raitha and Coconut Rice with my curry! As someone who cannot have a lot of spice and has allergies, they were so very accommodating! The servers were amazing and the service was beyond excellent. The manager Raj goes out of his way to ensure the experience is a memorable and enjoyful one! I have been to many Indian restaurants but this one most definitely touched my heart❤️ I will DEFINITELY be on another flight back to enjoy the lovely service :) and amazing food! The kindness here and the love for their craft is what makes this experience so beautiful! (Not to mention the yummiest food!!!)! Oh my goodness, I ordered so much dessert, the coconut and pineapple ice cream was RAVISHING!!! They also have kid friendly cute little ice creams which is so thoughtful! Items missing and food tasted bland

I think the issue was the delivery service more than the restaurant. I’ve eaten in the restaurant before and had a great meal. The takeaway food was good quality, just late and a bit cold. Not what I would expect for a delivery charge of £5.50. I’d say delivery service was worth £1.00 at best

I am afraid our dinner for four last night was not a great experience, we usually have a take away from them once a month and the food is usually ok. Last night when we arrived it was a cold night , but it was even colder inside as there was no heating, after a few minutes I enquired what it was so cold to be told it was because the door had been opened when we came in …? Like other guests we still had our coats on and my wife kept hers on the whole time we were there over her legs , I asked if they could turn the heating up but was told it was on, which it wasn’t , the manager then came out and pretended there was a window open which there wasn’t , food was mediocre and very expensive. Will think twice about going again.

Delivered to my neighbour instead of my address and the food was sitting in front of their door, luckily it wasn’t cold. Usually love this place, but this isn’t good..

The food was alright, but quite over priced for the quality. The biggest issue was that we felt like we were being rushed out. The restaurant was completely empty yet the waiter was pacing around our table trying to take our plates the moment we finished, occasionally before we’d finished! The ordering process wasn’t great either. They got confused on several occasions about what we were ordering when we only ordered a few items, and had to come back an ask us what we wanted multiple times. We won’t be coming back again.

Food was great and delivered really fast

Food was delicious. Late timing and food marked delivered when it wasn't, then told just eat do that when time runs out. Will look into that. Really enjoyed my vegetable curry, sag Aloo, biryani, naan and poppadom. Worth the wait!

Party of 6 on a busy Friday recently. Food hit and miss : lamb phill and chicken shishlac good, chicken korma v average. My main thoughts however were 1) it’s a curry house 2) very cramped …could barley pass between other guests to get in...

The app said my food had been delivered at the time which was given when I ordered. I called the restaurant to ask if the delivery driver was at the wrong address! To find the order hadn’t even left the restaurant and it seems the order was marked as delivered (to avoid flagging up it was late). I was greeted on the phone with very helpful lady who then passed me onto the rude manager. who didn’t want to acknowledge the fact the food was now 20mins late and still in the kitchen. He said it’s leaving now and promptly put the phone down with no apology. 10 minutes after this conversation the door bell rang with our food, it arrived and to be honest wasn’t hot and very disappointed. Overall I won’t be returning as a customer and doubt the restaurant would rectify this poor experience as per the phone call I have already made and there response.

After a delay of 45 minutes, no apologies were given by the restaurant. I offered to collect the order, this was not accepted as it was ‘being processed’ and they couldn’t interrupt the process. The food was cold, the fries were shockingly limp, the oil...

Had a delivery last night for family haven't used these for a while and won't be again ,had a tandoori king prawn £15-95 , small prawns chewy and tasteless ,chicken tikka starters were very dry and tasteless ,HORRIBLE
