Food is very good, but it should be for the price you pay! Fast food… we could’ve gone and shot a cow quicker than they cooked the burgers. We waited 35 mins, we wished we would’ve gone to McDonalds.

Ordered for a birthday treat,burgers were overcooked and hard chips looked like they had been refried until nearly burnt £57 wasted

It might not be fair to review this specific location as I assume the prices are the same everywhere, but I bought a burger, fries and drink and it cost over £18. I can’t wrap my head around it, I recently went to Pieminister in the centre of Manchester and paid the same for more food, lovingly prepared in an environment that costs a lot more to run. Don’t get me wrong, the food is ok. Just ok though. My friend and I hadn’t had a Five Guys for a few years but both recall them tasting a lot nicer than this - maybe nostalgia who knows. For the same price I could have gone to Wagamama or Nando’s next door. We both said this would be our last Five Guys, you simply can’t justify the food at these prices. Should literally be half the price.

I only went in to get a milkshake and I ordered a biscoff milkshake. I wish I didn’t bother it was just Vanilla milkshake with broken biscuits in it. Didn’t taste like a biscoff milkshake. Didn’t put any biscoff spread into it. And what top it of it cost me £5.65 for what. I wouldn’t buy another milkshake from that place again not worth the money.

In short, if you forget the drinks, read the customer service email exchange. But before I get accused of anything malicious, please note this was self inflicted on their behalf. Burger and chips are amazing and worth every penny and that is coming from TWO people. Me and my mum. The service was second to none. However, this is where it goes downhill, my sodas was forgotten on my order, now I am not having a go at the guy cause the guy had 99problems and my soda wasn't one. It happens, I t is how customer services dealt with it! However, after quickly contacting there customer service I was met with amateurs that do not actually know how to write E-mails of which I will leave the screenshots below and then I will highlight a few things. I was asked for a receipt of purchase, So I had one, I sent it to five guys head office, so in their reply was "it appears there was some confusion as you initially left the till before the receipt was printed." Remember this is a collection point! It is a grab and go service! "As a gesture of goodwill" please find a QR code, I wont be sharing the QR code for obvious reasons... Remember I paid for these sodas! by debit card. You can read all my replies... "This voucher was given to redeem your sodas" Seriously I used card to pay for my transaction, you know the current currency, not a QR code, not a voucher! "we're the contact for five guys at the UK head office" what do you seriously want, a chufty badge? I'd be ashamed of myself! "taken the correct steps to review this by providing a replacememt (yeah they can't proofread) of sodas" Ok then so am I being re-imbursed the extortionate sum of £7 something rather than being palmed off with a QR code as it is a "gesture of goodwill." Hopefully you will see my point, 4 stars is highly ethical of me, I wont be ordering drinks if I was ever to step foot in here again, not only is it pricey but when your being MUGGED off by customer services, it makes your blood boils. To conclude, if you forget your drinks, you will have to feel grateful for a gesture of their goodwill to be able to obtain a QR code that you may forget when your next in, it is sincerely a joke, if you actually did an internal investigation into this, like seriously, whilst your tapping your baloney on complaints, the real workers are in the sweat shop working. It’s been a while since we’ve visited and tonight we were annoyed we’d wasted £40 on 3 cheeseburgers & fries 1 soft drink and a beer .. we’d been looking forward to it after the cinema. Little skinny dry tasteless burger bit lettuce tomatoes drowned in my choice ..mayo & ketchup. The bread was dense & soggy and it was barely warm. The fries were the best bit. The last burger I had from there was thicker & juicier with better bread. Terrible for the price.

Ordered from them twice, first time sent to wrong address wouldn't redeliver.so refunded Vowed would never order again but gave in and tried again weeks later, today two burgers missing rang said they would send missing items, they didn't refunded instead without letting me know . Never again.Know Deliveroo delivered but Five Guys made up the order so they're both at fault, more annoyed they lied about sending missing items obvious they'd no intention of doing so.

Ordered the double bacon cheese burger which came with no salad, was completely dry and looked as though it had been sat on. Ridiculous prices for such poor quality food. I’ll never eat at five guys again.

The clue is in the name, Five Guys Burgers and Fries. You know what you’re getting. The food is great and always cooked fresh, upon order, right in front of you. Staff always seems happy. We have been plenty of times and never had an issue. We’ve ordered in store and sat in, and also ordered online and picked up. Consistently happy. Some people moan about the price and ultimately try to compare it to McDonalds. But it’s not McDonalds. If you want cheap, almost cooked, processed, quick meals go to McDonalds. Five Guys is a different league

My wife and I visited this restaurant wanting a late breakfast. Unfamiliar with its menu, we opted for a BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato in a bun) and a "Bacon Dog". This turned out to be a kind of greasy sausage sliced in two, along with small pieces of greasy, alleged bacon in a hot dog bun. These two items, at £5 and £6.85 respectively came to £11.85. To go with these we ordered a single portion of 'regular fries' between the two of us; this was an unbelievable £4.75. Even more unbelievable were the drinks: so-called Fanta Orange and Fanta Lemon which we had to get ourselves from a machine and which tasted of nothing in particular but had a rather unpleasant acid tang and neither of us could manage more than a mouthful. For these (itemised as 'soda') we were charged an unbelievable £3.75 each! The total bill came to £24.10 –– nothing more or less than a celebration of corporate greed. My wife's BLT was inedible: the 'bacon' was so overdone that it was simply a pile of charred, blackened ash. She asked the staff to replace it, which they did and the replacement was not burnt, but excessively greasy. My Bacon Dog was running in grease and I was unable to eat more than about a quarter of it owing to its poor taste and excessive grease. The chips – sorry, fries – were plentiful but inedible! Massively overcooked, they were excessively salty and hard, rather like bits of wood from a bonfire. They were, unfortunately, consigned to the bin and we were obliged to write off the whole thing to experience. I should emphasise that the staff were courteous at all times, and behaved professionally when I went to speak to them to express our disappointment at the food: it is for this reason that I have given an overall rating of 'poor' rather than 'terrible'.

It's the first time we have visited five guys so we did not know what to expect. I thought there would be staff waiting on, however this is not the case. Never mind I thought just take a seat and order at the counter. No problem, burgers and peanut fries ordered. I also wanted a beer which came on a bottle but no glasses available. Your number is shouted out and you pick up your bagged meal. Extra fries are found in your bag the rest in a cardboard cup. Burgers come wrapped in foil. So for presentation I can't say much positive. However, the taste is probably one of the best burger and fries I've had. So the positives outweighs the negatives. If the burgers were served in a cardboard box and the fries in a separate brown bag this would improve matters.. Would I go back.. Yes I would

I have heard a lot about Five Guys. Most of it on line.. ok lets be real I do not know anyone who has actually been so all of it on line, I wonder how many of these are "paid" mentions. It was ok. The staff were friendly enough, the place was clean and tidy- the disabled loo needed a radar key- no bad thing and was nice and clean (a bit small for a wheelchair accupant and attendant but hey we have been in worse!) Anyway..the food. A cheese burger, grilled cheese sandwich regular fries and 2 drinks was £24. Hmmm The burger had a large range of "free" toppings- no not free you are being charged assuming you have them all and they make extra money for the ones you don't have. Fries, a small paper cup half filled then another "extra" scoop thrown in. nope its not extra you are paying for the amount for fries you are given (other wise half a cup of fries for £5 is wellll add your own ending) . The drinks were refillable ... so they shoud be at £4 each! We made sure we toppped up the drinks b4 we left and took them with us just to get a bit of value for money. Price apart the burger was edible, clearly freshly made and large. Shame half the cheese was stuck to the wrapper not the burger but hey! The fries... ok when hot but not so good when they had cooled down. The toasted cheese? nothing to write home about! Overall- yes glad we went to see what the hype was about. Would we go again? probably not our place of choice. I felt I was paying to subsidise other diners. I could make suggestions to reduce waste but.. hey they pay consultants for that lol :)

Fives guys Cajun fries and the burgers are by far the best tasting in the fast food industry. A little on the expensive side but well worth it

Today 10 Aug. Feel completely ripped off 1 cheeseburger 1 hot dog 2 fries a milkske & water. Over £30. Tables were dirty. Presentation appalling. I love five guys so when I found out there this one was located right next to my hotel I was extremely pleased. Sure, its pricey for fast food, but everything is cooked fresh to order. The restaurant in Ashton was clean and tidy, the staff were all helpful and friendly, a staple of the five guys brand!

Great friendly staff who will take the time to explain to first timers the menu in full. And they do it with a smile. Very family friendly. I had my two children with me and your basically looking at a tenner each for cheeseburger and chips. That sounds expensive but its worth every penny, certainly the best we've ever eaten. The burgers are small but tasty and you get to choose from unlimited toppings to put on them. The chips are to die for and the portions are massive. Cooked skin on, freshly delivered potatoes on the day, one regular portion is enough for two people and they don't mind if two people share an unlimited drinks cup either and they tell you that as well. Great food, great service and been back since. Highly recommended.

Visited Five Guys several times and always enjoy their delicious food. Love the drinks options, never been anywhere with so much choice. It’s a little bit pricier than other burger places but it’s worth it for the quality of food that you get - and all served to order.

We recently visited five guys, we had been recommended this place by a friend, this venue has plenty of parking, the prices were ok, the fries especially large could be easily shared the burgers were lovely however i expected them to be bigger for some reason, the drinks and food were all awesome we really enjoyed it, from ordering to the food being ready, was so quick and all cooked fresh, so great speedy service and also friendly smiling staff.if i had one minor issue it would be this for a newbie it would have been nice to see some posters on the wall of the burgers and hotdogs so you can see what they look like, if someone says its a big burger do they mean for a child and old lady or an animal greedy beast like myself.lol so it would have been good to have a few pictures and offers, how to order etc just to speedy up the newbie gett8ng their food. Super place though i would recommend it and will be going again.

I took one look at the long queue and dirty serving area in Ikea and realised I needed an alternative. Five Guys is just at the next roundabout do I popped in. A freshly cooked burger with any toppings I chose, and chips, really delicious. It’s nice to be able to have a beer with my burger too, an advantage (well for me anyway) over other burger chains nearby. My food was delicious and I like the locally grown food sourcing too. Overall, a grown up burger restaurant... quick, delicious & friendly.

Not normally one for fast food at all but heard this was a step above. The service was quick. The food was OK. The tables were not clean. The toilets were freezing! He place has no character or atmosphere. It's not quite a cafe but it's not a diner. Not sure what it's meant to be.

I went here for lunch one day while I was staying at the Village Hotel as Id heard good things about the burgers, they weren't wrong either, the burgers are amazing but they are not cheap, I suppose you get what you pay for but a bit of a shock for a fast food restaurant.

The burgers, dogs, Cajun fries are all really tasty and very good quality. The BLT they do is amazing it's nothing like you can get from anywhere else. The shakes are also bang on there tasty and nice and thick.

By far the best place to go for fast food burgers. As many of the other reviews have said it isn't cheap but you get so much more value for money than you would at say Burger King.

Positively the best burger and fries that I have ever had. This is what I call a burger place for those with disposable income. I had the 'small cheeseburger' and fries (skin on). The 'small cheese burger' is bigger than a Big Mac and there are 15 fillings that you can choose from (they have no extra cost attached) which range from onion, pickles, tomato, mustard etc etc. It was cooked to order and to perfection and was beautifully tender inside. The burger was nicely wrapped in tin foil to keep it warm. The fries came out piping hot and crispy with skin on. We also had fabulous milkshakes which were large and had the taste of fresh milk and ice cream blended in. The soft drinks come on a 'refill' basis. They are £3.50 each, so take advantage of the refill situation. OK, so 1 small cheese burger, 1 large fries (this portion of fries feeds about 4), 3 milkshakes and one soft drink came to around £29. A family of 4 will easily spend around £50 here. The menu is limited to beef burgers and hot dogs (there is no chicken, pulled pork, fish or lamb). The kids however still love McDs because they have more variety and prefer chicken as a meat.This will be my burger joint from now on. I have no interest in getting a burger elsewhere. I'd rather pay more for tasty, fresh food made to order and cooked with care. I didn't post photos because there's loads here and nothing that I could add

Decided to give five guys a try after hearing many good things about it. The food was very nice and I like the concept. The only downside is that it is slightly overpriced for what it is. Not sure if I’ll be back in such a hurry it is what it is. A chain fast food place with a chain restaurant vibe.

If you've not had a five guys before, then do go, it is a lovely eating take away experience. But you do have to pay the price.

I have to admit that the burgers from here are great however, you can get just as nice tasting burger from Burger King. For 1 person to have a burger, fries and a drink you are looking in the region of about £12 upwards. You can get the same kind of thing for cheaper at a restaurant like JDW. Good that you can customise your burger and choose which flavour drink you want from about 100 different flavours. Would recommend it to some but not all.

Stopped off here after an early start in zEdinburgh and driving down to Manchester for the City game. We know this brand well, my son loves it even though he doesn’t choose a single topping for his burger. Good tasty burger with crispy chips that compliment well. Normally wouldn’t review a place like this but the guy on the till (11.50 - 1/9/18) was just excellent. Friendly helpful and confident to engage socially as well as for the service required. Sorry I didn’t get his name but he was certainly worthy of note

We visited Five Guys after going to the Cinema. The Restaurant is very tidy and clean and the staff are constantly clearing tables and ensuring everything is spotless. It's a little different to your normal burger place, in that you basically pay for a plain burger, but you can have all sorts of additions, from a comprehensive list at no extra charge. Everything is cooked to Order, so there is a bit of a wait, but as it all arrives piping hot, there are no complaints from me. The chips are very nice too. Drinks are either refillable (Sodas etc) or they have a very nice range of Milkshakes. All round, whilst it's not the cheapest place around, the burgers are first rate and very tasty.

Five guys is not your everyday burger venue. Here, you start with a basic burger and then build it as you want, from an extensive list of additions. Everything is cooked to order and there can be a small wait, but it always arrives piping hot, including the fries which are really nice. Drinks of the soft variety are refillable and they do a nice little range f proper milk shakes. A nice little extra is a box of peanuts, where you can help yourself, these are the shell on type, ready done each day. Definitely not a cheap venue, but the quality is there and the place is kept spotless by the staff, who were very pleasant.

As a family of 4 we all ate here for £30 with ample good quality food. Burgers were lovely you could personalise them and amount of chips was ridiculous, we did 1 between 2!

You will struggle to find any but burger joint as good as this place. Seriously - they make the best burger EVER. It's a bit more expensive than an average fast food burger but it's totes worth it. Perfectly cooked patties, fresh off the grill, lovely fresh ingredients made to your EXACT taste and perfect temperature. Plus you get a HUGE serving of fries (the Cajun ones are amazing) and bottomless cokes. Happy days! the staff here are all lovely and the music takes me back to when I used to party at 5th avenue - it's random and the whole place with the food and the vibe and the music - it just the whole package! First visit and genuinely surprised how this is head and shoulders above anything you can have in Other burger chains. Not cheap but the multiple choice on toppings at no extra charge was good, also noticeable that meat was of a better quality and burgers made to order. Staff very diligent on thoroughly cleaning areas vacated by customers. Will definitely be returning

We thought we would give it a try. We did and won’t go back. I suppose there was nothing wrong with it but when paying £25 for 2 small burgers, small fries and 2 drinks. I at least expect to not have to collect my food and not clear up afterwards !!

Cannot fault the taste of the burger, just a shame they had to squash it to half it's size in foil, kinda ruined it for me. Maybe understand the wrapping up if we were taking it away, but we weren't. Chips were decent too and got sooooo much more than the 2 portions we ordered but i think maybe a little steep for what it is

We went today for lunch and to our (happy) surprise found that the restaurant was really quiet given the time of 2pm on a Saturday! We ordered our food, which though expensive arrived in good time. We've had Five Guy's before and this was up to the usual standard, great food and a thankfully quiet clean environment in which to enjoy it. Highly recommended!

I've been to Ashton-under-Lyne Five Guys plenty of times but today it was terrible the chips are soggy cold and disgusting the burgers had all the wrong toppings I am very unhappy with my experience today for the money you pay at this place it should be first class every time today I was not happy to serve a horrible burgers with the wrong toppings on and too cold and sunny chips with not enough Cajun seasoning on them I'm too bottomless drinks £33 so that type of money you expect quality and today it did not come anywhere near the mark

Always come to 5 Guys with my grandchildren when we go to the cinema. They love it and so do I. Spotlessly clean. Food cooked to order and never greasy. Great value for good quality and enormous portions. Thank you 5 guys.

Just visited at lunch with daughter. Staff were friendly and helpful on our first visit.Decor was rather sparse & basic. Door was left open and was rather chilly inside.Ordered a cheese burger and bacon burger with good choice of toppings, medium fries and 2 refill drinks. Order placed at 13.04 ready at 13.24.Noticed burgers wrapped in foil waiting on side for at least 5 mins waiting for fries.No display for when orders are ready, somebody just shouts....to bad if you miss it or can't understand the accent. The burgers were ok but nothing special. The fries overcooked and half were in the bag as the container served in was too small.Clear your own table when you've finished.At £23+ for this meal and the surroundings it is over priced and a poor experience. You can get equally as good burgers and better fries, served quicker, hotter and cheaper not far away.Will not visit again or recommend.Ps: they don't serve hot drinks.

Although it's not cheap here. It's always spot on. Re-fillable drinks are fab. One portion of fries is always enough to share. We sat outside because we had our puppy with us & they put the heaters on for us.

After you get over the shock of the price tag of the menu here, you would hope they are something special. Are they?Well i'm still not sure its worthy of the price. Yes it was a great burger cooked to order, how you want it. Yes the hand spun milkshakes were fantastic, the chips just ok. To be honest nothing special for that price. Would I come running back here, not really. As a treat I would come here, leave the chips and just get the burger and milkshake.

The burgers & fries were very good indeed, the whole experience overshadowed by the way too loud music, the staff had it blaring for their own enjoyment rather than an ambiance for the diners.

The magic of Five Guys is that is has no gimmick, just burgers and fries done better than anyone else does them. This Ashton branch is refreshingly quiet, so you won't suffer the long queues or table shortages experienced in shopping mall or city centre outlets. Just one request - please turn the air con down, it was colder inside than outside when we visited.

I was at first sceptical of this place because of the price but you are paying for quality. It is nothing like an overpriced McDonald's because you're food is made in front of you fresh to order so it's not and fresh. You can customise your burger/hot dog with as many toppings as you like. Drinks are refillable with 100s of different options due their Coca Cola machine with different flavours. The portion sizes are huge. I get a little cheeseburger which is enough for me. I had a hot dog too and the sausage was really tasty with the bum being so soft. The chips are amazing being cooked in peanut oil. Sometimes is all you want is a quick cheap burger from McDonald's but then sometimes when you want something slightly more substantial you should visit Give Guys

Nothing special, overpriced, chips were cold and over cooked. Burger was very greasy and made me poorly later on that day. Milkshakes are amazing but not worth just going there for.

I have been Charged twice for a little bacon cheeseburger and peanut butter milk shake. I rang up and spoke to the manager who wasn't prepared todo anything which i think is disgusting service! Food is delicious but I won't be returning any time soon

I first reviewed the Five Guys at the Trafford Centre and it was ok, not my favourite but I went to this Five Guys after going to Cineworld. I ordered the cheeseburger, regular fries (which are more than you think)and the coca cola freestyle and I enjoyed every bit of it! The only part that I didn't like was the cleanliness of the burger bar itself, but overall I like it and worth it especially, if you are a fan of burgers. Sadly it's not for those with a peanut allergy as they use peanut oil.

I have never been in a more disgusting place we went for my granddaughters birthday and was disgusted by the food. I ordered a blt which was cold and burnt when I returned it I was told if I ordered another it would be the same so I ordered a beefburger and that was ok. We will never return again
