Love being able to order/pay online...food's great too! Went tonight for fish & chips for me, a chip butty with curry sauce for my wife and a couple of pickled eggs for me...an old Southern habit! It was all excellent. Tonight's visit was for a large cod (huge) small chips and a pickled egg! Delicious!

I had a job in the area this lunch time and fancied fish and chips, so had a look on Google and this stood out of the 3 in Goldthorpe. I had the £7 special and it blew me away both with the quality and quantity. Decent size fresh fish with beautiful crispy batter. Mountains of fresh chips, crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inner. Even the mushy peas stood out. Tasted like pepper had been added. It even came with a fishcake or sausage. I chose the fishcake and it though it was what is known to me as a rissole (not a Yorkshire fishcake) it took was delish. I'm a 18st+ bloke with a big appetite and I couldn't finish it all. The staff were friendly, service was quick and the place was spotless. I Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again 😁.

Always friendly service and great food

Easily the best chip shop in the area. Fish is always good, the kebabs are all very nice, burgers - not the best but they are decent too. Chips are usually very good, sometimes taste a little old but generally a very consistent experience.

The place is slightly crammed, but this because the food here is possibly one of the nicest things to ever exist. 100%recommend.

Its hard to find a good fish and chips these days I had almost given up trying then I called in fishfellas one day on the way home, I'd heard people saying it was the best chippy in the area on facebook and thought I'd give it a whirl, r8 chippy I wont go anywhere else now 👍👍👍👍👍

Go here all the time and me & my partner absolutely loves this chippy. Very quick, very polite staff and just great chippy. Always go here when we can :)

I went yesterday, it was absolutely amazing. We ordered fish, chips, sauces and a pie. They were all cooked to perfection. The fish were enormous and even better the haddock was skin on. Thank you.

Top chippy very clean an friendly staff. I phone my order in for a few old ones at willowcroft they always put a few free chips in with each fish i order. As they know the old ones only like a few chips... "Saturday treat you just car'nt beat"...

First time been and food was excellent nice and hot, great choice from the menu and the lunch deals are great, can get chips small fish and battered sausage with a side and yes they do Chinese curry sauce, winner, around the £5.30mark think, give them a try very clean and friendly.

Food is absolute mint. Ye can tell its a proppa chippy as soon as you walk through door and that proppa nice chippy smell hits ye in face

What can I say beautiful food every order I'm absolutely hooked I have tried many fish shops around South Yorkshire and fishfella's is the best the chips are amazing my partner usually hates chippy chips but he loves yours and the food is always hot yes when thay are busy thay might be a longish deliver time but I promise the food is totally worth it because its freshly cooked and done with care wish I could give you more stars because you guys deserve it thanks for the food I ordered at least once a week and the delivery driver is a top bloke too he forgot my partners pop but brung it straight out when he realised hats off man is a true professional

Expensive .. Fish cake over spiced and horrible missed part of my order. Ist and last time going there phoned guy didn't seem to care. Did say please and thank you and it doesn't matter what you missed i asked for it you provide and you are expensive compare your prices to Dale road (Marina Rawmarsh) their chips £2.40 large bag and sausages large battered .1.30 so get your facts right. /Also further down the reviews i see somebody ese missed their scraps .

Great chippy! First time I've tried it and will be going back. I had an OAP special (not an OAP), its a fiver for small bit of fish, chips and sauce. Fish was really meaty and chips were bang on. My Colleague had a kebab wrap which was huge, really enjoyed it but said the Doner was a tad dry, better than being greasy though. We'll definatley be indulging again. 😋😋

Just called in on my way home from work and ordered a kebab, the staff are very friendly and helpful, my kebab was fantastic busting out the box I really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back for more 😀 👍👍

Food very nice ,price reasonable , service is what let's them down for me, too much laughing and joking about with each other and regular customers makes very slow and mixed up orders.

First visit I had a fish combo meal..Nice sized fish, a battered sausage, chips and gravy..5 quid!! Absolutely the best fish I've had in years..chips were great and the sausage as well..separate pot of gravy to dip in..I would highly recommend this chippy..now its fish and chip Friday every week for me and my colleagues at work!

Great kebabs good value for money.

Absolute joke of a delivery service, this is the second time food has taken over 90 minutes despite an ETA of 45 minutes and I’ve 2 starving kids crying for their tea. Rang a total of 3 times only to be told every time it’s out for delivery. Will never use again totally unreliable 😡

This Chip Shop is the Best in the area bar NONE, I know during these difficult times it isn't easy with restricted numbers etc being allowed in, but the staff make it work and they do it with a smile and they are polite. I love the food from here its always tastes GREAT, no after taste like some places, it's piping hot and excellent portion size, you get what you pay for.!! FishFellas definitely deserves 5 Stars and thank you to them and their staff during Covid.

Waited 20 minutes just for sausage chips & peas open ,people with big orders served before me ,ridiculous & not worth it also did queue but when people behind you get served first it's a waste of time ,you clearly don't like criticism

Highly recommended. During covid lockdowns and tiers have seen this business go from strength to strength in its efforts to meet customer demands and covid restrictions. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu has a range of vegan and vegetarian options. The place is clean and well maintained and best of all the food is great. Orders can be placed in person, by phone or email and online. Now a favourite and satisfaction is a pleasure to have in a takeaway when so many dont value their customers. Well done to all staff and owners.

Fast becoming the best chip shop in the area. Nobody does fish this good, and chips always great. Good kebabs too! Update one year on. Just had delivery from here, as usual the food was first class and still very hot. Which was nice. An awesomely brilliant place just got better. Love it!

Down graded from 5 star to 1 first time i visited it was beautiful but the last 3 times I've been there's been things missing from my order I live too far away just to collect the items missing really disappointing shall not be going again!!!!!!!!!

Had chips and salad with peas last night beautiful but peas were salted to death my stomach doesn't like salt .

Normally pretty good but kebab I had other Saturday chicken meat was dry like it been from lunchtime

Got to see some fantastic animals, hand fead Elan, giraffe, 3 different species of deer, the white lions and tigers are incredible.

Had to wait half an hour for fish but was delicious when arrived

Absolutely delicious food. I have been here a few times with a colleague from work and everytime weve ordered the food was always really nice and cooked well. Everytime we come here the staff are always really polite and helpful and could not do enough for us. I would definitely recommend this chippy to others as it is good quality and very reasonably priced food. Tried a few others in Barnsley town centre and the local area but none were as tasty as these were. I am definitely using these from now on.

Sorry I had to mark it down by 1 star just that my kids don’t like peas and up until tonight the staff always put the peas into a carton on the side and I give them to me and my partner but instead they was mixed into my kids teas. Apart from that I’m a happy customer as usual thank you
