Fisher and Donaldson in Fife

Cant afford to shop here, everything is eye wateringly expensive. Looking forward to a fudge donut when I have a lottery win.

Very disappointing. Got there just after 2pm. There was only one scotch pie left which we couldn't cut with the knife as it was so hard. The small steak pie and the sausages on a roll were good as was the coffee but how could a bakers run out of a basic scotch pie and serve one that seemed as if it had been reheated quite a few times.

Very helpful and friendly staff on arrival. Good coffee too.

A usual stop on our way to the Fife coast. Lovely bakers - very nice Bridies and pies. Little cakes too are magic!

Lovely oatcakes with seeds. Tasty soup and sandwiches. A lovely selection of cakes and pastries too. We'll worth a visit.

Brilliant collection of bread, confectionery, and pies. We have been several times and always look forward to our next visit.

Woman who served me was very unwelcoming and frankly, I should have just left.. But have no fear, I won't be back.. I could have stayed indoors with the wife and got the same treatment instead of paying for the privilege of it... Coffee was nice though... UPDATE : I've just read the previous review left left by a gentleman who mentioned as soon as they realised he wasn't local, the attitude changed.. And I 100% agree with that.. Maybe it was my English accent that made the said woman in question act like that, yet the next table that spoke in a Scottish accent, she was nice as pie to them,With pleases and thank yous given.. Now, I may not be local by birth, but I've lived round here a few years, if only she knew that she may have been that little more welcoming and have a returning customer.. Unfortunately, its never going to happen..

As well as the pies, the fudge doughnuts are definitely not to be missed.

Can't say much about the rest of the products on sale but for what I bought, a warm curry pie with a puff pastry lid and a creamy chicken curry on the inside delicious and the tatties and bean pie wasna bad either apart from the filling falling out when your about half way through cause they haven't scrimped on the filling like standard mince pie then topped up with a good table spoon of piped on tatties with bean in the middle, might try this one cold the next time

Some of the new staff are not as helpful or competent as the experienced ones, there attitude is not acceptable. But the food is good.😀👍

The fudge doughnuts are the best - far better than anything similar - and the seasonal strawberry pastries are amazing. There are probably other nice things but I haven't had enough of the above yet 🙂

Very friendly ,polite very welcoming nd the best coffee towers nd my husbands favourite is the strawberry pastries but the price is too high in the st.andrews shop for these things that's the only thing wrong is the prices of all these goodies nd the steak bridie is the best too

Cant fault there food at all, but some staff could do with some training on manners. The younger staff are very polite , but the older lady (short black hair and glasses) needs a course on manners. No hello, no asking what i would like , nor any please or thank you. Bit disappointing.

A bakery with a traditional tea room renowned for it's cakes and pastries. Small seating area offering a limited menu of breakfast, lunch and snacks. Good coffee. Lots of tempting treats. Staff are nice and friendly.

Staff fabulous but just learned that owner allows the cafe toilet facilities to be used by general public....yuck

Shopping in Cupar and this is a perfect place to rest and refuel. Great cakes and friendly helpful staff. I watched one of the younger staff patiently helping an older gentleman to a table and retrieving his stick. It was nice to see that they kept an eye on him. We have visited many times and will be back again

Lovely place for a coffee and a cake or lunch. Excellent value and friendly staff.

This is a quaint little place in the back of the bakers shop. The menu is very limited but the cream cakes are second to none.

Traditional bakery with tearoom. Reasonable selection on the menu, large selection of cakes. Food was good. Unfortunately the staff could have been more lively.

This wonderful patisserie is full,of the most delectable cakes, pastries and sandwiches one could imagine. The selection of treats are irresistible.

Popped in for a cup of tea around 4pm but found the staff rather dour and gave you the feeling they really didn’t want to be there. We found the tearoom part of the shop dated and the carpet was well past it’s sell by date. However the cup of tea was nice.

Food was good and staff very obliging. Only issue was being charged £3.33 for a Bridie is very pricey. They had no cold ones left and didn't advise beforehand that we were getting a hot one and what the price would be. Otherwise we wouldn't have bought it.

Definitely the best quality baking around. Pricy but worth it.

Had a nice lunch here, but I think I may have eaten too much cake, as it was really nice.

It is a lovely little place to get a bite to eat. Went with the family and the table we were at was very small but we managed. But amazing for a quick grab and go lunch or treat

I particularly like traditional tea rooms and patisseries so we popped in here for a sandwich and a cuppa whilst in the area. It looked welcoming and a good quality establishment from the outside. Unfortunately not the most welcoming of places. We waited to be seated but eventually had to approach staff who were chatting to each other to ask if we should just choose a table... It was around 3.30 pm and my daughter asked for a cheese & ham toastie only to be told they were no longer serving hot food that day. We ordered cakes, teas & Latte. I had the coffee tower and there was visible dried out cream stuck on the pastry. I picked it off but the pastry was hard and dried out - I suppose it was late afternoon. We wanted more tea and I had to seek out a member of staff to ask. As we were eating the staff started to wash the floor and an elderly lady said she would leave before they started in case she slipped. When we left the tiled floor was wet and still being mopped at 4.15 pm. The cost was Approx £14. This could be a lovely tea room but the staff do need some customer service training - even just a smile and asking if everything is ok. Also mopping tiled floors when customers are in the shop is not only creating the wrong atmosphere but risking customer safety.

Wow the food...the chocolates. Everything about this shop is just pure heaven....their cakes etc are second to none...I rate this place extremely high as I'm a chocolate lover and thus place really hits the mark...

Hope holds hard in The Kingdom of Fife, it seems. We must all try to buy locally. And within this creed, my wife and I chose Fisher and Donaldson's bakery for our light lunchtime refreshments. The girls behind the shop counter see to the sit-down sect in varying degrees of good manners and looks. First we got the most pleasant one and a2qfter that the angryish one, as behind them stood the young and noticeable smiler, obviously in all-round charge. But, by god, they produced a great Pea & Ham Soup, a worthwhile Sausage Roll and Coffee with a Strawberry Tart which my good lady found irresistable. Very homely shop, very good value for money.

Found this tea room in Cupar and really enjoyed the filled roll, even though it was a bun, followed by a delicious cake. We then found another shop in Dundee and it was just the same standard of delicious food and great friendly service.

What we had to eat was far too salty. Service was slow.

Not a large establishment, about 8 tables. Cakes are all baked by the firm and are of excellent quality. Service is very good and you do not have long to wait for your ordered food.

I pop in for a scotch pie and a cup of tea when I am shopping. There is not a lot of seating, however I am usually lucky. They serve a large selection of cakes, tiasties and other snack. The decor is a bit 70's (brass and dark wood) which makes it a bit quirky

Stopped off in Cupar to pick up some pies bread and fudge doughnuts for lunch. Also managed one of our 5 a day with a strawberry tart. Great bakers worthy of many visits

Visited 31/07/17 for a quick lunch whilst on holiday in the area. They have a simple cafe menu and we enjoyed the baked potatoes and paninis. Staff were pleasant and prices reasonable. It's only a small seating area but didn't feel too cramped.

Stopped here on the way through Cupar on a rainy day in July. Excellent service and cheered us up despite the weather!

Both the Fisher and Donaldson outlets in Cupar are excellent. Service with a smile and good food. Just the place to drop in for coffee and cake.

Just looking at the website makes me homesick! Everything they sell is good value and great quality. Excellent selection of savoury and sweet foods, from the most traditional to the fancy.

Fisher & Donaldson have a justifiably good reputation as a baker and this review only relates to the Crossgate shop. The other one in Cupar has much better service and is a nicer ambience if you are looking to eat in.

Great selection of home made cakes and breads. Hand made chocolates are to die for and the staff are outstanding. Seating in the cafe is good and busy at lunchtimes. Definately worth a visit

Well known Family Bakers, dating back to 1919. Shops in St Andrews, Dundee and Cupar. Wonderful cakes, chocolates and bread. Highly recommend to stop by.

It's a bit gloomy and there aren't many tables. The cakes and pies are ok put nothing special. This wouldn't stop me from dropping in from time to time
