The Fish Inn Brookfield Road had become our choice for consistency of its products and service appreciated by us and had achieved value to the business by us not objecting to price rises . An advantage to your reputation for us was seen by giving change for your chosen charity and your staff tip box and Christmas tip box and regular sales and lately our use of delivery service where we pay on arrival, impressed with the standards that in the past had remained high to get our order on time and hot , accepted a few minor discrepancies in orders have always been professionally resolved . Your highly respected consistency of product quality had been slightly questioned due on a few occasions lately having the chips provided in the box had a higher than expected : dry , small hard shards of potato uneatable . . Could be due to front serving staff scrapping the last chip ( sharp shards) that had stayed in the warmer to make a portion a little longer than acceptable I'm sure to you and your business reputation wouldn't be acceptable practice towards long standing or new customers . A suggestion given is the cooking staff keep an eye on the serving staff are not giving the remnant shards are in one portion or more appropriate throw away , another option could see the restraining of front customer facing serving staff are keeping to your long respected quality .

Nice fish and chips but can't do the soggy cod roe anymore.

Food was cold, dry had no taste, was disgusting, could not eat this was the fourth time, never going back, always use to be nice but never again.

A nice fish & chip shop, with one counter for takeaways and a restaurant around the corner. There's a nice seating area out the front, perfect for those sunny days. Plenty of free parking available around the back.

Such a great place don't have to wait long for the order.

Normally ok But this time fish was like it had been reheated from the night before and so did the battered sausage and chips for costing over £30 was expecting a better quality of food then that. Shall not be using any more .

Just ordered take out from Fish Inn Ashford. It was easy to order and delivered super quick piping hot. As usual quality and flavour excellent never had a bad meal from this takeaway

The chips were 50% gum stabbers! (Those little crunchy chips) And the jumbo battered sausage wasn't crispy batter... It was soft floppy and disappointing also dripping with fat to the point it was running down my hands? prices have shot up but the standards have lowered. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Every time someone asks if I want fish and chips I immediately choose this place. They make your food really quickly and it is just amazing! The portions are amazing and I can not live without their curry sauce. I would definitely recommend!

So we ordered from this place around 215 as was told a hour never really had a problem with this shop when collecting food is ok for ya money delivery service is terrible was told 35 40 mins now one hour and twenty mins later we called back and they said there was a problem with the driver etc now I get things happen and I understand that but this has happened 2 out 3 times not acceptable in my eyes sorry guys just the truth

The cod and chips were very nice, but the saveloys were only lukewarm.Due to the cost of £35.00 I expect all the food to be hot.

ordered some fish and chips to senior citizens which we order quite readily as we are locals I don't know whether you've changed your chips potatoes or your oil or whatever it may be the chips was was soggy and oily the cod quite honest with you was horrible and when I mean horrible I mean the pieces of cod wasn't very nice it was mainly batter and oily the reason why we come to you is because your local and your fish and chips are normally very nice as you're aware there are plenty of a fish shops all around where we live due to this order and the way it was presented tasted and at it was horrible it made me feel sick you may have just lost two customs.

I was welcomed by a lovely blond woman with glasses on Saturday when I came to get lunch, was having a bit of a bad day but she was lovely to talk to and brightened my day completely, great customer service and so down to earth, well done lovely keep making people smile.

We called ahead and placed an order as it says on the menu you get a discount, so why not. A very polite young lady named lou took our order and was very well spoken. We turned up 10 mins later with it all ready to go. again, greeted with a smile by lou very helpful and very pleased. Fish was outstanding 👌 and chips were just right not to greasey and not over done absolutely perfect. Highley recommend 👌 👏 👍 and they sell beer 🍺 🍻 🍺

Food was as expected but there was raw chicken nuggets unfortunately. Given some sort of reparation was made for this review would have not been 2 stars. Upon phoning up, we was told to bring it to the store as proof despite photographic evidence. Horrible service.

Ordered via Deliveroo. Very disappointed in the quality of the meals. The children’s fish bites contained a couple of flakes of hard fish covered in rubbery batter! The kids size cod was the same size as the adults and the quality of the fish was poor! Ordered cheesy chips, no cheese and the all portions of chips were anaemic, most went in the bin! Won’t bother again!

We always use the Fish Inn when we want fish and chips, they serve real chips. Staff always friendly and the wait isn't too long even when busy. Extensive menu options if you don't want fish. Good value for money, generous portions

I called earlier as I am extremely disappointed with your establishment. Our last delivery last week was not to your usual standard as we had to wait longer than usual (when we called to see where it was we were advised you were waiting for drivers) and the portion sizes were not good. We let it go last week, however we have again used your business tonight and our portions again were unsatisfactory. I have no problem with your business increasing your prices, however you have reduced the portion sizes of everything, especially chips and this is not acceptable. When prices rise, customers do not have a problem if they are still getting the same size meals, however increasing prices and reducing portion sizes does not suffice. I'm afraid you will be losing our custom.

Whilst visiting a client in Ashford we asked for lunch recommendations, he suggested The fish inn. As you pull out there is suggestion of a restaurant but it is better that....you order your food and take it to the adjoining pub. Fish and chips out of a box and a pint if guiness...fabulous. Actually the fish was freshly cooked and tasted great with tartre sauce (of course) my guiness was poured with a shamrock "on top" (quite rare these days) It's a very local pub, fish bar and kebab shop ...locals friendly...we had a super time and couldn't have asked for more

I know it is only two small portions of chips at £5 and went in Friday 6th January at 12.15pm, but why not let me know that they were giving me one portion of old recooked chips that were inedible and one portion freshly cooked. Won't be going back as this is not the first time there have been problems but thought would give another chance

Had large cod and chips from here and unfortunately it was very poor. The batter on the fish was soggy, not helped by the chips piled on top. The fish was not lovely and flaky as I had hoped but a bit dried up and chewy! Chips did not taste very fresh either and were oily. I should have guessed this would be below par when my order was ready immediately, so not cooked fresh. It all left a bad taste in my mouth. Fish and chips is not a cheap meal and this was so disappointing!

It’s always a little hit and miss when ordering from delivery sites but this was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. We always order from here but dare I say this one was almost on par with fish and chips in Hastings! We had 2 x medium cod, kids cod and chips, a plain sausage, large chips and curry sauce - it was hot, fresh and yummy! Makes such a difference when you catch a fresh batch.

Rarely find decent chips in ashford. I know that seems like a broad statement but not being a native to ashford, i have really noticed the quality of chips is poor down here. Not this place though. Lovely chips, i also tried a burger from here which was also very nice. would recommend.

Used to love the food here but the recipes have changed and the food tastes more bland now. The chicken bites used to be my favourite thing to order but now they taste of nothing.

Will not order from here again left out part of my order and all they said is well send it next time not acceptable customer service is rubbish

Disgusting food. (Diarrhea) Over priced for what it is and the girls that take your order are very rude. Would never come in there to talk about how vile it. Specially as they weren't wearing masks coughing over the place 😒

Food wasn't all that great, chips were nice but fish is very greasy and didn't sit quite right after eating. Portion sizes are tiny compared to most other chip shops in Ashford. Seem to get the grumpiest staff member whenever we go in.

Fantastic fish and chips .good service

Waited nearly an hour over expected delivery time and when food arrived one fish item was missing. When we phoned them they said they were too busy to send the item so although they said they'd refund, one person had chips only. Might i suggest they employ people who can read and check order as it's being bagged. Not rocket science! Won't be using again.

Chips were amaizing!! Service was fast considering it was so busy. Very efficient.

This was not a good time for the fish inn and I am so disappointed, the curry sauce had big clumps all in it, the sausage was stone cold inside and the chips had a funny metal oily after taste, not sure what they were cooked in.

Very poor. Chips dry and tasteless and fish no better. Also the most expensive Chippy I can think of. Yellow fisherman in hothfield is much much better. Shant be going to the fish Inn again.

Very clean place also it was quick in delivering my meal when I was waiting. Staff where also friendly.

Not good. 2 black hairs found in my wife's burger. Also one hair in my sons curry sauce. Only partial refund offered. Disgusting. Been customers since they opened but wont be going back. Freshly cooked and tastes amazing

Food is always of good quality, not too greasy with nice golden batter. Chips are lovely and well cooked, portion sizes are generous, especially on the family sized portion which is huge.

Best cheesy garlic chips I've had!

When they're good they're brilliant, chips that are crispy and fresh and fish that just melts in your mouth. However when they're bad they're terrible, chips that are virtually raw, fish that's so greasy you could smear it on a wall and suddenly you have a new window.... The rating would be much,much higher if it wasn't such a pot luck as to whether you got something that was a 5* meal or a 1* To fish inn: gotta hand it to you, your customer service is top notch, you just need to work on the consistency of your offerings, the same order can swing wildly in quality from one day to the next

Put an order in on a busy Friday night. It turned up without chips!!!! After phoning them expecting the worst, I got a reply letting me know they'd re-send the whole meal as a rush order. 30 mins later and it all turned up, nice and hot. Can't fault the customer service. Food was pretty good too! :)

Cold food, not up to “Legal” temperatures. EHO involved, manager said he didn’t care who I reported him to as nothing will happen anyway.... took a video of the temperature probe and so EHO have the evidence and are making sure you understand safety issues! Disgusting

Food arrived cold and soggy, spoke to manager who sent order again. Fish 39 degrees, sausage 30 ........ manager said there’s no minimum temperature for food, I think he needs rapid retraining before something goes horribly wrong 😡

Thought we’d give this a try, del was brilliant, (about 20 minutes )chips were excellent, proper chips, cod bite were excellent, (the best, ) the cod itself was ok , but spoilt by having the skin on, not many still keep the skin on, otherwise...

We have used fish Inn many times food is always great especially the quarter pounded burgers they are delicious. We have never had any issues with delivery we always receive before they estimate & always delivered with a smile great service all round.

Both deliveries were on time. No complaints. The size of the fish is excellent. The first time we ordered the whole meal was excellent. Sadly, we made a mistake and ordered delivery on a Friday and the food was well past its best as it...

Ordered they just eats, told 7.15pm delivery, phoned shop at 7.45pm to be told just going out. Delivery driver called 7.56pm lost, food arrived cold had to reheat, so not happy. Will not order delivery again.

Waited an hour and forty minutes for food, girl turned up with the wrong order, then another turned up with our order, it was not hot, we are very very disappointed indeed...

This has always been the best food fish & chip shop by a mile, mainly because the food was ‘freshly cooked’ and quality. Just recently the food has been on a decline unfortunately, not sure what has changed but the chips aren’t like the used to be in terms of fresh and the cod tonite was pretty much a terrible piece like it had been reheated ‘not freshly cooked’ as it generally has been. Fishcakes were as well ‘not fresh’ Service great as are the staff always. Hoping something changes & it gets back to what’s always made it a step ahead of competition in the past.
