Very friendly staff and nice show on TV to watch while eating.

Much better than it was a year ago. Great service, really clean food which wasn't oily and a really good sized portion of fish.

The most dry tasteless chips I’ve ever had, I absolutely covered them in salt and vinegar and they still tasted of nothing ! Silly prices to eat in as well. Do not recommend. Curry sauce was £2.50 and the size of my thumb 😂

Give up on food as staff was not able to give the right change after order was placed. When was informed how much change they had to give said they don’t have any change 😳 Maybe food is great but find someone who knows a bit of math or provide calculator ?

Dear Customer, If you’re looking for delicious food for your holiday with your family, please avoid this restaurant. The food is poorly cooked and tastes awful. Additionally, there’s only one person managing the restaurant. We waited 1 and half hours just to get fish and chips, and the prices are exorbitant. While the ambience is nice, I strongly recommend not visiting.

Shi** Waited more than one hour for food!! I think they are going for fishing every order… Not suggested at all.. there was only one staff doing everything, it’s completely inappropriate. Never visit this shop anymore.

My experience in this establishment was not good at all. The Fish was very bland, the chip was hard and I found a fly on my plate and was told the plates were washed…..mmmmm where is customer service whereby you try to rectify the problem and not justify

Our plaice was literally missing half the fish and the cod was squashed on delivery. We received 1 pickled egg instead of 2 and our curry sauce was congealed to the point of jelly.

overall not good, i am 12 and me and my family went there, the restaurant only had 2 people eating there, there was only 1 person working there and it took around 30 minutes to make the food, we ordered the pepperoni pizza which wasn’t the best pizza i had and the person gave us free fries but they tasted like AIR and i had the mushroom pie which smelled really weird but the taste was also weird but not terrible. The sausage tasted TERRIBLE and I had to SPIT IT OUT to get the taste out of my mouth (im not kidding) the coffee was TOO SWEET even though it was 2 packs of sugar which doesn’t seem like a lot. The chicken nuggets were SOFT and looked like they have been sitting in the freezer for months. the chicken was a bit spicy, the fish though.. it did NOT taste good and you had to dip it in the sauce to get a taste. For £50 this is NOT worth the money AT ALL it is way too expensive for 6 items and they didn’t even taste good.

Below average chippy. Small portions, low on taste. We had cod & chips, scampi and sides of mushy peas and gravy. I would advise looking for something with better reviews. We didn’t check them before hand.

A fascinating establishment. The host insisted we make use of the electronic ordering terminals despite being the only customers present. One of these terminals didn't work. Service was slow, despite the presence of these hi-tech machines, and was not helped by the host being thrown off guard with a late addition of curry sauce to the order. The food was disappointing and drier than the sandy plains of Brighton beach. The vibe was downright strange. Overall, £13 extremely poorly spent. There's a casino opposite.

If I could give a no stars for food I would. This is not a fish and chip shop in any sense. Whatever you do, do not eat here if you want traditional fish and chips. The chips are mass bought supermarket chips, the fish is prebattered and probably frozen and the sausage in batter was a saveloy which had been battered and then fried - it was disgusting. This place uses cheap produce and charges normal chip shop prices - which this shop is not. I should have known it would be bad by the fact the only food in the heated part of the fryer were a couple of pies in wrappers. Whatever you do, never never never never never eat here.

Ordered from your shop Cod and Haddock both with chips on @Ubereats and got sent chicken nuggets with chips, I’ve been arguing with Ubereats for a full refund, can’t understand how a simple order could mixed up with nuggets and chips … do the right thing and refund my £32

Ridiculous. Ludicrously expensive for that you get. This is a Large Chips and Scampi and it costed £14. On top of that, the guy who was serving was on his first day and left to serve alone. Bang out of order. DO NOT GO HERE.

Not entirely sure I actually received cod. Fish piece was quite thin and didn't taste like cod. Order late but that was down to delivery driver availability, so batter lost it's crispiness. Chips OK. but firm and not soft like typical chippies chips. I know this is an order hard to get right for delivery, but I think I'll stick to getting in person next time.

Went to tuck into my pukka pie and they were still frozen, the oven cook chips were drier than Gandhi’s flip flop! AVOID AT ALL COST!! Positives - friendly staff, clean space, food arrived quickly and the food was hot. Why I wouldn’t go again - Ordered haddock, chips and curry sauce. Fish was tasteless, watery inside the batter and definitely not haddock, chips were not fresh potatoes but frozen chips that when cooked are just dry and horrible. Curry sauce although tasted nice was runny like soup. Expensive for the quality of food. Oh and £2.50 for a small bottle of water. Disappointing.

Came down from London. Ordered Cod n Chips and they charged me around £13 and a few pence which I can't remember. The chips were awful oven chips that may have been double cooked as they were very crispy. The Cod was definitely not real Cod. It was absolutely tasteless and melted away in my mouth more like Pollock. Brought it home and the gf (being a fish connoisseur ) also opted for a taste of it. She confirmed it 100% NOT Cod. Waste of money.

Please don't bother coming here because you will be disappointed. The chips aren't proper chip shop chips, just oven chips basically and the portions are so small at a crazy price.

Should have checked reviews first. Ordered haddock and chips (£14.80) and a battered sausage (around £4?)... Batter on haddock was soft and squidgy and would wrinkle when you moved it. Fish inside was REALLY hot and the batter was gunky. Pretty sure this was microwaved. Guy said it was freshly made... didn't see so don't know for certain but in my opinion this was old and microwaved. For this money it should have been crispy batter and very fresh. It was horrible. Microwave meal from Tesco would have been better.

Felt I'd been a bit generous with my initial review.* The chips I had were good, though portions arent the biggest when compared to other fish and chip places in Brighton, and frankly the price gouging on soft drinks is pretty insane. £2 for a can, £4 for a 500ml bottle of pepsi max. Add to this, the plaice I had was not great, yellow from oil and the flattest flatfish I've ever been served. By weight, I'd hazard a guess the fish was 50% batter and oil, 50% fish. Dropped a star for the price, I paid less in London for more, and the fish was better there.

The staff were friendly & helpful, nice looking inside & defintely clean! Ordered a cod, chips, chicken burger & battered sausage. Everything was lovely, except, for the chicken burger. Whatever chicken they are using isn't normal "as you'd expect" from a local takeaway. Saying that, everything else was lovely. Such a shame the burger was so awful I had to leave a review.

This place is awful.. I’ve never seen so much grease on food before as I have, here!! Un edible!! They didn’t have what we ordered so they just threw a load of greasy sausages & a rank piece of fish to us & hoped we’d accept it!! No Tea for us tonight….

Con!!! Stay well clear! They will take money from your bank and when confronted are rude! Food was horrible!! Think it came to around 9.50, i later found out they charged my card 92.50!!! For chips and a sausage and drink. When confronted they answer with not our problem and manger wont talk to you!!!they are thieves and rude first time in Brighton and not a good experience there are plenty of fish and chip shops in Brighton im sure i would give this one a miss unless your happy for them to take money from your bank without your permission!

Fish and chips were fresh although a little more salt would make it perfect. Delivery time was late but it’s understandable because I ordered around dinner rush time. The delivery driver was quick to reach my location once he picked up the food though.

Loud music playing in the backround Service was alright quite fast but the food quality was rubbish fries not cooked properly same as fish overall not recommended go somewhere else.

Family meal after visiting seaside.We thought fish and chips are a must and will be fresh when you're at the seaside.We were wondering how on Earth you can ruin chips in chip shop....yes, you can. They were thick ,undercooked, gummy, and fish would have been nice if not the butter, which was too much and undercooked as well. They do not know seasoning as chicken wings had no taste at all and with spicy coating-picture grilled.... Not recommend, you will find something better for similar price and surely better taste.

I watched the driver on the map and he wasnt sure where he was going, food arrived late and cold, the chips were still hard in the middle and they put a little tub of vinegar and packets of wet salt in the bag. Why didnt they put the salt and vinegar on the chips like other chip shops do? Very disappointed, Thrown it all in the bin. Will not buy from here again.

Good fish, good chips and nice crispy breaded garlic mushrooms. All the food was hot and tasted good. Although the fish was a little bit oily I cannot otherwise say anything negative about this place. Thank you to all who work here.

Would give zero if I could for the quality of food. No flavour in the fish, seems like it's been soaked in water for a long time. Batter taste of raw flour + water. Terrible. Don't even when you are drunk.

If only google could allow a zero rating 🤮 ordered 2x chips, battered sausage, saveloy, fish cake and 2 glass bottles of coke coke to £27 (at home it would cost about this for 6 of us instead of 2) but this was for 2 people! Staff member was friendly enough but we sat in to eat and when the food come over instantly regretted it, 1st of all wasn’t asked who’s order was whose just dumped on the table (missus got mine and vise versa) could instantly see the chips were frozen chips 🤮🤮 partner tried to eat the fish cakes but they tasted horrible. I had 1 chip and was put off and sausage in batter is cheap disgusting tasting battered sausage only good thing about this whole experience was the bottle of coke!! Honestly can’t wait to get home and have a proper chippy, looking at reviews I’m surprised there’s comments on here that apparently it’s the best chippy in Brighton!!! A complete waste of time and money, you’ll be better off going to Wendy’s, Burger King all working

Well I was originally going to Bankers but as it was near my hotel I decided on this fish and chips take out The gentleman was friendly but the food well as I didn’t read the reviews until after I ordered We’re pretty awful with frozen fried chips and frozen fried fish for £18.00 (2 people) I feel sorry for this diner as nobody was in there on a Saturday night God knows how they pay the bills

This is not seaside fish & chips, very disappointing. Chips were double/tripled fried and were just like OVEN chips, Brighton pier chips were more authentic. Fish batter was partial fried, so we had gloopy batter on one side and the sausages were warm to cold. Large chips portion was very small, had to ask for more. As was take out we did not see how bad it was until we got back to the apartment.

As soon as we walked in it looked like the bloke serving us wanted to kill us. The food was terrible, the cod was tasteless you get more flavour from sucking a newspaper and the batter wasn't cooked properly. Mushy peas and beans were cold and don't get me started on the toilets!

Fish and chips in an English seaside town should be great, and usually is. This was not. Give this place a miss and find a proper traditional chippy, or a genuine fish and chip restaurant. Would like to suggest a redeeming factor, but can't. Am way past disappointed and well into angry.

Unfortunate enough to eat in here a few days ago. Fish was mediocre and chips probably from frozen rather than fresh cut. This, coupled with somewhat rude service made it the worse dining experience out of our entire trip. It doesn't even have the excuse of being 'cheap and cheerful' as there is far better fish and chips at similar prices just around the corner and along the seafront. In all the place had no redeeming features whatsoever. My advice (for what is worth) is to avoid at all costs..there is far better to be had in the vicinity.

Good traditional seaside fish and chips clean and well presented

Food arrived early and service was fine. However, they advertise themselves as traditional fish & chips. What actually arrived were chunky oven baked chips which we had to spend £3.50 per serving on. Had I known this would be the case I would’ve just purchased a bag of cook at home oven chips for the cost of less then 1 serving however we wanted traditional chip shop chips to go with our meal. Very disappointed and won’t be returning.
