Subway in Brighton and Hove

Visited for a quick and cheap lunch while in the area. The place felt a bit unloved but service good and had everything I needed. The new garlic and herb sauce was excellent too.

Insanely neglectful service. I am celiac and I told the guy serving me this immediately and asked for a gluten free foot long. He bought out a six inch. I then asked if anything wasn’t safe to eat, he said all the toppings were fine, so I chose chicken tikka, cheese and fresh mozzarella, he doesn’t say anything about it not being gluten free. He then toasts my sandwich and I realise he’s only making me a six inch, so I said “sorry mate I asked for a foot long”. he gave me bad attitude for this as if I’d initially asked for a six inch and changed my mind. He then put next to no cheese on the other 6 inch. I’m not the type to argue with staff so I left that. Then when sorting out my salad, I asked for chilli sauce, he then put garlic on there which I wasn’t aware if this was gluten free, so I did say “sorry but I wanted chilli, is that sauce gluten free” he said yes so I accepted it and kept it moving. When paying I then doubled down and tried to confirm that everything was gluten free. He said it was. At no point did the man check these things. Well long story short I’m now in absolute agony, checked the allergen menu myself, and the chicken tikka has gluten in there. For me to ask multiple times, tell him from the get go I was celiac and for him to show me a bad attitude because of the 6inch / footlong thing, when he evidently wasn’t listening to a word I was saying, is wild. Update: it gets worse. I called to complain about the incident as I figured this carelessness could actually cost someone their life so it was worth complaining about. The guy who answered was nice enough, offered me to come in for a free sandwich and said he’d speak to the boss. A few minutes later I get a call back and the guy is saying that the boss said chicken Tika is gluten free so there was nothing wrong. Well…. It isn’t, as you can see in their allergens list. Unbelievable.

Tried to use a legitimate meal deal voucher. The server said the voucher was confusing, and he didn't understand it (2 meals for 8.99). When questioned said the manager didn't accept vouchers after 6pm. Not a condition of the voucher, nor communicated anywhere in store. Asked if manager could be questioned and they were conveniently not available. Total cheapskate dross, clearly lying. Really bad customer service.

Honestly, the food was basically fine (it's Subway, you know what you're getting) but can we talk about the guy who served me today? I'm not even 100% sure he worked there; he wasn't wearing a uniform, just a generic red hoodie, and didn't seem to understand the difference between chicken and turkey to start with. Also, I attempted to use a voucher which was perfectly valid and in-date, and only after paying did I realise that the guy just pressed some random buttons on the screen and charged me the full amount without doing anything, presumably because he didn't know how to process vouchers. The sandwich itself was also a bit of a mess presentation-wise, my man just could not care less about his work. I would give this branch a 2/5, but honestly, there are like three other Subways in Brighton, just go to one of those instead. It's the same food, and they might actually have employees with manners and a brain.

2.5 hours late. food cold and un eatable. disgusting!

Very inept staff working here in the night shifts. Few times I've ordered from here, only to have either missing items, cold food or subs with the wrong toppings and VERY long delivery time, even for simple orders, despite living under 15 minutes away from the shop. (I know it's not the delivery driver's fault, because once they picked up the food, it usually arrived in under 10 minutes to my door) I'm done trying to give this place a chance to redeem itself, this is THE WORST Subway in Brighton and Hove. Avoid it like the plague! Still not sure how it managed to stay open for so long.

Subway is normally a good standard but the vegetable patties were not cooked and cold to touch as though they were put in sandwich without warming up. The wedges were not fully cooked through. I called to see if I could resolve the matter but the store just blamed the courier.

I was served by a very rude woman who did not have an ounce of respect in her. Was rushed along and made to feel like I was not welcome to purchase food from this store. There are many other subways in this area, try them instead and give this one a miss.

Closing time wrong. Closed at 01.30 1 March 2023, not the advertised 04:30.

Awful customer service by Tejan!! I went too this subway last night for a quick snack! This one particular staff was very rude and another girl had too complain as she was vegetarian and they had put chicken into her subway! When she complained they denied it and said they don’t know what it is! I said that is most definitely chicken and a staff member named Tejan called me a Nerd and was very rude towards his customers! He argued with me and told me he doesn’t need my money and left me no choice but too leave and go somewhere else to get some food! Three other people also left because of Tejan as his customer service was appalling!! Very rude man

Meatballs was meant to have just been cooked when I my order came the meatballs were still stone cold.

DO NOT PUT THE ICE CREAM IN SAME BAG AS A SANDWICH! I HAVE A WET STALE SANDWICH AND MELTED ICE CREAM! ALSO GOT INSULTED BY THE DELIVERY DRIVER SO THAT WAS NICE OF HIM!

Despite the website saying it closed at 4 apparently they stop serving at 1. Staff were rude no repsect. They served a man in front of me me but said they stoped serving at 1, I arrived at 3. Dnt go here boycot it they are rude and don’t deserve your money.

Likeable guys, but tiny dip portions when you order delivery and no oven heating after 11pm. Still happy with the service because the people that work there are nice. I also have to mention I don't like standard Subway policy of "selling up", same as other fast food places that suggest extras..

Server rushed us all the way through. We had coupons which we needed to understand. I would have understood if there'd been a queue but we were the only ones in the shop. Even before asking for our last additional fillings he was pestering for us to get our crisps and drinks as part of the meal deal.

I ordered on deliveroo. Waited 25 mins for order to still not be confirmed. Tried to say its deilveroos issue and hung up on me. I was even rude or shouting. I was trying to explain that deliveroo had already taken payment because apparently they were preparing my order. They will now not answer the phone to me. Great from deliveroos side who cancelled my order and refunded me straight away when they found out my issue. And also stated they would be in contact with the store. But will be issuing a formal complaint to subway head office about this incident as their customer service was gross. Hanging up on a customer twice?

Horrible staff, horrible attitude. Im not saying this to be racist im saying this to describe what she looks like because i dont know her name. Store was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and efficient. We got our order really quickly.

Only one staff member was working and so all it takes is for 2 (or more) customers to be ahead of you, or a customer to order 2-3 sandwiches (and diver over choices) and you're screwed (which is what happened to me). I ended up waiting 20-25 minutes just to order. Doesn't seem long but when you only have a 45 minute lunch break, or just popping out from work to grab a quick bite, it's an eternity. I recommend anyone looking for somewhere to get something to eat quickly to not choose a Subway if there's only one member of staff and 2 or more customers ahead of them.

Not what I ordered.. wrong bread and missing fillings. If you are out of stock why not call to agree alternatives? Not what I paid for 👎

Just had a delivery from Deliveroo and it was the best subway sandwich I have ever had from subway even better than ordering in store - half the time you order a subway sandwich and person who makes it doesn’t put any love and care into making the sandwich however this time none of the ingredients fell out of the sandwich and it tasted delicious - wish on the Deliveroo app that you could give good feedback regarding the food I even tried to find a contact number for the store as I wanted to thank who made my sandwich - credit where credit is due thank you 😊

Lower standard on this Subway restaurant.

Went in with my friend. Im a vegetarian and my mate is not. The person serving us used the same gloves handling my food and toppings after handling the meat for my friends order. The place isn’t clean and basic food hygiene rules arent practiced by all members of staff.

Subway sells a good variety of small snacks and meals but there is a problem with consistency. One shop gives you a roll with half the meat that another gives at the same price. Next time u order stop the service attendant and demand more in your roll if it does not look full as the picture on the wall shows

Really surprised by the quality of the meat feast and the overall taste. Nice friendly, helpful and patient staff.

The young Chinese/Asian lady was way to quite to even hear her talking, to the point I had to keep asking. She asked what salad so I said gerhkins and mayo yet she put lettuce in it, I don't get how gerhkins sound like lettuce but there u go. I'm also allergic to lettuce yet she didn't restart my sub or ask if it was fine to keep bit off lettuce in it. Worst subway I've been to in Brighton.
