Good Burger Kitchen in Brighton and Hove

Lovely place and food, but not having any walk in tables available on a Saturday morning is quite disappointing. When we tried going here for breakfast last weekend we got turned away as fully booked. And at least another 6 people were also turned away after us for the same reason. It's breakfast, not a 5-course degustation, why the need to book a table? Blaktan Coffee Kitchen is already popular (understandably so), a bit of spontaneous weekend brekkie hurt nobody.

Such a pretty cake with great food and coffee! Second time visiting- and it is so convenient to just drop by before our Costco trip 😂 Plenty of parking, seats indoors and outdoors, delicious food and friendly services get us to revisit time and time again.

One of the best Cafe’s in north Brisbane. The food is incredible and unique. Quite busy however, so I recommend booking a table in advance. Service is quick and efficient with friendly staff. Reasonably priced, tasty meals with good quality produce make this my ‘go to’ breakfast stop with friends and family. I enjoyed the Asian and western ‘fusion’ aspect of the restaurants dishes, which cater to everyone’s tastebuds. I highly recommend the smashed avocado, French toasts and big breakfast options. Excellent coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice!

We’ve been regulars at BlakTan since it opened and have never been disappointed. The best okonomiyaki this side of Osaka and bao to die for. Thank you James.

I just left the place with my son and husband and haven’t eaten anything. We arrived at the cafe at 1pm and placed our order. We started to notice that all tables around us were receiving their dishes, although they arrived after us. At 1:30 my husband asked a waiter about our order, and he just said it was coming soon (certainly did not bother checking). After another 15 min of wait, we asked a waitress about our order. She came back from the kitchen to advise they had lost our order, and if we wanted they would start cooking it. We decided to leave. Very disappointed with the poor customer service and irresponsibility as we’ve been customers for a long time.

The servers themselves were really nice, but the manager was extremely rude. Both myself and my friend, who has been there many times, were shocked by the way that he spoke to us. Something as simple as asking for a milkshake using lactose-free milk resulted in rudeness. I would not recommend this cafe.

The welcoming environment and pleasant atmosphere is complemented by a great coffee and food experience. I will happily be returning to try even more items from their menu.

You can feel good vibes as soon as you walk in with the welcoming staff and with the tone of their furniture and interior. The food was great in every aspect but the portion. It would have been better with a bit more for an adult man. Otherwise eveything was very pleasant and next visit is already booked. 😉

Salmon rice bowl will blow your mind. I order the same meal every time we go to Blaktan, and it just gets better! Pic speaks for itself.

Super busy, super great coffee and food

The male staff member’s attitude was overbearing and unpleasant when we were visited the cafe, which made us feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, his service did not improve throughout the meal. We waited about 25 minutes for our food.And the water was warm. I had high expectations because of the good reviews, so I was disappointed.

Iced Matcha latte was way to sweet i asked for no sugar was full of sugar i guess they just use a pre made mix.

This is THE BEST CAFE on the North side of Brisbane possibly all of Brisbane. The coffee is extraordinary and the food is absolutely amazing. We love going here as a family and I have never had anything bad to mention in all of my visits.

A very comfortable and clean place with a great fusion menu of Asian / Australian and excellent coffees and drinks. Will definitely be going back for lunch again soon.

I visited Blaktan Coffee Kitchen with my mum, specifically looking forward to trying the acai bowl. Unfortunately, we arrived 30 minutes after the breakfast menu ended, and we were told no exceptions could be made. We left feeling very disappointed and still hungry. While I understand the need for menu cut-off times, I believe a bit of flexibility would have gone a long way in creating a positive experience for us. It’s disappointing that something as simple as accommodating a small request wasn’t possible, especially given that it likely wouldn’t have caused much inconvenience. A more customer-focused approach could have left us happy and eager to return, but instead, it has created a negative impression. I hope the team considers being more accommodating in the future to avoid other customers leaving as disappointed as we were.

Stopped in for a takeaway Bahn Mi, it was the second worst Bahn Mi I’ve eaten in Brisbane. The only reason I ate the whole thing is because it cost me $19.00. Most expensive Bahn Mi ever and most disappointing. Friendly staff and I’m sure their coffee is good.

Went today for breakfast. Amazing service, delicious food. We had eggs Benny Asian style and Okonomiyaki with Bulgari beef. So yum!

Have been to Blaktan a couple of times. But this will be the last. Both my wife and I feel nauseous and unwell from the lunch today. Very fatty and oily chicken and pork.

Fourth time I’ve been here and I’m just as impressed as the first. Good coffee and a unique brunch menu, I had the eggs Benny with bulgogi and a soft shell crab bao. Poached egg was cooked to absolute perfection. Always worth the drive, but I do recommend booking first if you are coming on a weekend

The food is relatively tasty but the chicken kind of had a strange flavour to it. Both my dad and I felt a little nauseous after our meals. I find the menu is full of fried/greasy food and it’s difficult to find a healthy option. The service was great but I wouldn’t go back to this place.

I had the Bao Buns (Pork and beef) as well as a Massaman curry. Both dishes were amazing! 5 stars for the food, the service was nice but nothing exceptional. I also had a banana smoothie that was quite nice

Amazing food and the best service.

Blacktan has the most amazing food that you can’t cook from home. After finding this place when we lived local, we now travel 70 minutes to come for breakfast on weekends on occasion. It is that good! Some things on the menu sound a bit out there, but do yourself a favour and give it a go. You won’t regret it!

Friendly service, beautifully presented matcha hotcakes and chai latte. The Asian flair to its menu deserves special mention, however, perhaps it's time to introduce new items??

The first time I went to Blaktan it was amazing but the last was a bit dissapointing. I ordered the not-so “big breakfast” which at $29 you’d think you’d get more than one rasher of Bacon hmm. I’ve paid a lot less at other places and got a lot more. Their bao bun however was wonderful, and I loved their matcha too - very sweet. Cutest design on the coffee cups with the doggo on them. Sad the big breakfast was a let down.

A really nice cafe for breakfast with both indoor and outdoor, covered, seating. Very busy. Food was quite delicious and service was very prompt with a positive customer experience.

Today I went to a brunch shop and had a great culinary experience. First, I ordered a glass of refreshing orange juice. The sweet and sour taste instantly refreshed me. Next, I tried the chocolate drink. The rich chocolate flavor made me feel warm and satisfied. The main dish is Okonomiyaki, which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The other main dish is paired with bacon, fried eggs and perfectly toasted bread. It is nutritionally balanced and delicious. The mushrooms are also fried very fragrant, adding to the flavor. A delicious taste. Not only is this brunch delicious, but it feels like a great start to the day.

Great food, especially if you like Japanese Korean fusion cuisine. Lovely staff, great coffee, nice fun atmosphere. Food favourites are always the Okonomiaki, sweet chilli chicken, vermicelli and the rice bowl.

The staff here are always lovely and the coffee is so good! I've only eaten instore once as we tend to grab takeaways but it was really nice to have a dine in meal too. Had the matcha pancakes and they were delicious. They do great babycinos for children too.

I stopped in here while my vehicle was being serviced. The atmosphere was classy and relaxing. It was a great place to get coffee and a meal while I worked. They were even able to accommodate my need to charge my laptop as well. Thank you!

Great Asian Fusion in North Lakes! Love their Beef Bulgogi Benedict - it is always our go-to brunch of choice. Coffee is also good.

Coffee and matcha were average. Foods portion were small but taste ok. Can get better Korean fried chicken elsewhere. no good reason to come back again.

Best food and coffee for miles around..no doubt about it. I just wish this coffee was available on line. I live 2 and a half hours away. Thankfully one of my daughters lives close to this amazing place..so this is where we will always go for breakfast or lunch. Thank you for your high standard of excellence.

A treasure of a meeting place for almost any occasion. Coffee here is also really spectacular. I’m yet to have a meal here with my dad since he’s rather keen on their menu. I am too, I enjoy even dining by myself. Such friendly staff and great service.

Good little dining experience in the northern suburbs! We visited specifically for the Bao buns! They were good, a little pricy for the size but very tasty.

This is a fantastic place to have either breakfast or lunch. We often attend here, the problem is it is so liked, that bookings are suggested. Coffee and food are amazing. And the staff are really attentive and hospitable. A little gem in North Lakes.

Ordered a Bahn mi pork belly, I got it and there was beef on it… the bread definitely looks different in the photo as to when I got it the bread was soft the beef was disgusting no flavour. Took one bite and spat it out don’t recommend try something else other then this

Ordered a Banh Mi that was not authentic Vietnamese. The bread lacked crunch usually associated with authentic Vietnamese.

Came here for lunch on a whim on the way to Bribie, really happy with the food and value, Okonomiyaki was just fantastic. Most dishes have their own sort of twist on the tradition, what we had was great. A lot of mains around the $20 mark.

What a nice surprise great coffee and the food my husband had the big breakfast and couldn't stop saying how amazing it was had an Asian twist to it and both agreed to not only go back but also recommend it to family and friends very happy with the experience 😀

First time trying blaktan. Booked a table at the start of the week for Saturday, and details were confirmed. Day of, we found out the table wasn't booked but luckily there was a table available. Apart from that, the food and service were great. Ordered the rice bowl with pork belly, blueberry mocktail, and pork bao buns. Decent prices for what you get as all were a 10/10, great portion size and very satisfying. Wish the place was a little bigger as it's very small inside with not many tables. Will return again, but will need to make sure the booking is definitely booked.

I visited this amazing Korean cafe that has everything from tasty meals and coffee to awesome service and even cool interior design. It's like every part of the cafe is made with great care and quality. The place was buzzing with locals, showing it's a popular spot. It seems perfect for people who work nearby to grab a coffee or a bite before heading to their job. I tried their latte, and let me tell you, it was delicious! It's definitely a must-visit if you're looking for a place with great coffee, food, and vibes.

Beautiful Coffee. Food was fresh and tasted good. Couldn't see much in the way of vegan options on their menu, but they use good oat milk for their coffee. Customer service was lovely. Aesthetically pleasant and had a nice vibe.

Staff are always so lovely and make a very personalised experience for everyone. Staff have made the effort to get to know us and our orders. My friend and I come in with prams frequently and there is always space made for us and staff holding doors. Excellent coffee too!!

Don’t try breakfast menu but the lunch we had just so average. Disappointed and wouldn’t be back.
