We have just had the most beautifully moist, white battered haddock and chips. We ordered a mixture of regular and large - and the large were absolutely huge, all with perfect, crisp batter. A large portion of chips fed more than four with good appetites. We always have our fish and chips from Fish and Chips at - and never disappointed. Delivery was on time ( was able to book mid afternoon) and the food was piping hot. Recommended

We love Fish and chips London Road - they are so great - we have not eaten in we always use there delivery service which is perfect We can book a time and date slot many days before and they arrive on time with delicious succulent fish (we usually have either cod or skate) the chips are great and even a regular portion is very large. We think that especially during lockdown to have fish and chips delivered of such high quality is a real treat and definately recommentded

Fabulous chip portions and I’ve never had a bad meal - it offered delivery also which I a plus when you want a cheeky take away and don’t want to drive. Their lunch menus and children’s meals are great! Would always recommend

I had high hopes for fish and chips @ when they first opened however they seem to be going downhill all the time - from soggy chips to long queues. I personally do not find the sausages very nice and it is a shame as this is such a staple at fish and chip restaurants - there is a more traditional restaurant nearer by that seems to have a great mix of restaurant and takeaway.

Unfortunately the restaurant has now closed but we tend to use the delivery service from the take away. We had 2 cod, plaice and scampi, a large chips and mushy peas between four of us. The delivery arrived promptly ten minutes before the allocated time and was piping hot. All of the fish was absolutely gorgeous, the batter was crispy and light and fish tasted fresh. The chips were lovely and the portion generous, none of the meal was greasy at all. Definitely will be ordering more often.

I am very picking with my food its got to taste good I got fish and chips my husband got savoloy and chips and got the kids pie we all started eating and it was horrible I found a hair in my chips and everyone complained and it not tasting fresh come on but I wont be going their again

Phoned an order for delivery - the lady I spoke to on the phone really had very little English and didn't know how to take card payments, this proves problematic and we had to phone back 3 times for her to try and take the payment, eventually asking us "go out and get some cash" which is what we ended up doing!

We go here twice a month and have really enjoyed the food it has always been freshly cooked and is piping hot and well worth the time to travel to it we usually have cod and chips and park somewhere to eat it from the paper like we used to do when we were courting.

Hemos estado aquí muchas veces desde el restaurante abrió hace algunos años y nunca nos decepcionó. Fuimos a cenar temprano y tenía vieiras y calamares para empezar; ambos perfectamente preparado. Para los platos principales tuvimos solla europea, patatas fritas y guisantes Mar y blanda de besugo con ensalada, nuevo todo perfectamente preparado. Con una botella de vino y un refresco, el 'Early Bird' significaba que la oferta llegó a 55 libras bill y valió la pena. Continuaremos a volver!

We had dinner here recently. Scallops wonderful, calamari and chips excellent. Chicken pie average . Value for money ok and service excellent. We would go back for sure and would recommend.

They used to serve very good fish and chips from here but unfortunately the food has been terrible lately, we have been getting our takeaway fish and chips from here (Enfield Town Branch apparently they have 2 shops), since they opened and most of the times they have been good but the last couple of months the quality of their food has been awful ! And We noticed lots of arguments between the staff over the last 6 months, Anyway We ordered cod and chips and fish goujons with mushy peas, the cod and the fish goujons were very badly overcooked and the chips must have been sitting there in the chip tray for hours !!! Everything was cold! And even if the chips were hot, unfortunately someone forgot to throw away the green ones which made up half the portion! So after dumping most of our food in the bin and wasting £17 on rubbish, we have decided to use a different local chippy who is a owner/fryer and takes a bit more pride in what they serve. And we are glad we won't here that awful Annoying recorded message by a lady! We have wasted too much money here over the years, the food has to be good all the times! Not sometimes! people pay good money and expect good quality food in return.

My first experience with this company - Regular fish and chips.Fish was good, the chips that were served and the condiments that were added later, tasted awful. Overdone sweet vinegar taste, ruined the occasion.Sent feedback to website, replies back and forth; after almost a week - no resolution.Bad effect on a first time customer!!

Warm welcome from lady in front. Clean, and neat. Order taken promptly by waitress who explained the specials of the day as well as selected menu. Food always freshly prepared and arrives at your table piping hot. Very accommodating if there is something in your selected dish that you do not want. Generous helpings, chips fresh & salad crisp. Drinks delivered to table without a long wait. Crockery, glasses & cutlary clean. Bathrooms neat & clean. Not very fancy interior, but cosy none the less.

Eaten here with friends a few times over the years and it always been good for us. We went for dinner on a November Saturday night without a booking yet we still managed to get a booth. Since we were relatively early and were seated before 18:30 we were eligible for the 'Early Bird' offer which meant we could get 25% off the food on the menu.Staff were friendly and attentive, and service was quick. The menu continues to offer a number of different fishes, battered or grilled. I went for the cod and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it.I know prices have gone up in recent years, but with the 'Early Bird' offer it really is worth it and I'm sure we will continue to go to this restaurant.

Tonight, 06.11.16We ordered from them, they told us it would arrive at 18:45, shortly before get a call where they said their driver was in a hit and run. We asked about the chicken we order as it would be cold and they revealed it hadnt even been cooked. they suggested to pick it up which is stupid as if we wanted to collect we would of done anyway, They wont emit to the lack of stuff and would rather get more money out of you.

We have been coming here since the day it opened several years ago, and have introduced many of our friends to it. We eat both take-away and in the restaurant, lunch-times (special deals) and evenings, and the fish here is by far the best we have eaten anywhere. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating, and prices are very competitive. We don't hesitate to recommend fishandchips@ London Road Enfield!

Great service, and the food was excellent . I had the large Haddock in lovely crispy crunchy batter. The chips were stunning and the Mushy peas were flavourful. Friendly staff smiling and lots of happiness Alright a seriously good nosh!!!

This was the second time I had visited the restaurant within the past year but just didn't leave a review last time.Grandma ordered the Salmon and the rest of us has Sea Bass... We all had ideas of either ordering Plaice, Dover Sole or Lemon Sole but all of them were sold out which is a shame as that's mainly why we went their really. Never mind, other than that the food was great, cooked to perfection and I asked the waiter if I could have some sort of Garlic Butter, he brought me 2 different ones... One with just garlic and the other mixes with herbs, oh my is was was tasty on top of my new potatoes and veg NOM NOM! For desert, everyone except me had Sorbet, I had the days special Kiwi Cheesecake with Kiwi Coulis... NOM NOM! Everything was SCRUMPTIOUS! My Boyfriend treated us all... I didn't look at the bill when it arrived when later when we got home I asked him how much it was and he said it was £120. Bare in mind that there was 4 of us eating, 2 of us shared a bottle of wine and the other 2 had soft drinks x2... So our bulls was about £30 a head, doesn't seem too dear. For me, is good because they offer gluten free fish & chips and you can order your fish without the skin on, something that is an English tradition that I don't understand as is awful. Is all freshly cooked to order and they offer a delivery service. Used the Southgate location but doesn't offer the opportunity to review separately

Large portions. Had COD goujons as starter which were ok but the gluten free batter was a little too greasy for my liking. It's usually good though so perhaps an off day. Dover sole was delicious. Worth going for that alone. We were a large group & staff were accommodating though service was a little erratic. It's usually better. Don't usually have deserts so can't comment.

I have been here a few times and would very much recommend this restaurant if you want some good Fish and Chips. The restaurant is airy and spacious with plenty of seating. The food is great though I've only had fish and chips, grilled fish and king prawns. The fish and chips I guess is the speciality and this dish does not disappoint. The portions are good and overall the prices are fair.

We thought we'd give Fish and Chips a try after a gap of two years following a very poor meal, and wow what a disappointment. My partner's cod was raw and had to sent back. The waitress was very obliging and brought a second piece of fish. Sadly this was watery (frozen?) and brown on the underside - again not cooked properly. What a shame that the prices don't match the quality of the product. On the plus side the portions are generous.

I dined here with colleagues yesterday evening. I had the deep fried brie as a starter followed by cod with new potatoes as my main course. The portions were generous and the food tasted nice at the time. Unfortunately I have spent the whole of today feeling unwell and have not eaten anything all day. I don't work on Fridays and so haven't asked my colleagues if anyone else is unwell. I suspect there was a problem with the tartar sauce (not in a bottle but in a little tub at the side of my plate) since the fish and brie were deep fried and potatoes rarely cause problems.

Been to this restaurant on numerous occasions usually early evening and always find it tastey, it is a bit pricey but I feel that it is worth the money with quite large portions and not greasy. The decor is modern, fresh and miminalistic, children are welcome and they have good discounts. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating.

Pretty average fish and chip diner. Decor is the 'warehouse style ' minimalistic. Food arrive quite quickly and was hot. Would have been surprised otherwise with only 10 diners for a Thursday evening.

I love this place and usually go for a closeby dinner-out! The fish -I usually prefer haddock, as they offer both haddock and cod- is well crispy and potato chunks are delicious! portions are too big for me to see the bottom of the plate but well filling for the ones who enjoy big portions! we did order a take away once and the meal was really hot when arrived. I have been to fish and chips loads of times and pretty good except sometimes the curry sauce was not very thick.This time I ordered two pieces of cod one small and one reg - chips were OK. I even wrote a review on the site whilst eating 1st piece of cod we shared which was ok but not as great as it was in the past. 2nd piece of cod luckily I looked at it as it was a thick piece - it was brown translucent and slimey ...it was not cooked and smelt raw!!!Curry sauce was like water or tea ... !!!I rang Mario the manage who asked me to email a photo and promised to call me back.Clearly not interested in customers! As I never heard anything. Shame as I had liked this place but maybe as they got busy quality may have droppedLuckily there are some great fish and chips shops including burlingtons....

The last time we ate there we had to send back the grilled sea bass it was a miniscule dried up and inedible would not go any more shame because we used to go every weekend but the service and food went down in quality

This is the first time we have tried here. Have to my hat off the food was so delicious. I'm pregnant and really fancied cod and chips. The cod was spectacular and big portions. The most important thing is not being oily and it definitely wasn't this. The cod was fresh and skin crispy my husbend had the savaloy with batter loved that as well.

Having gone off this place as it went downhill while the management focussed on their new place in Southgate, very happy to report that it is now back to it's best. Service was always good and remains so but now the food is also very good. Very good quality fish and excellent chips - all you could ask for. Forget silly negative reviews all nonsense on the quality of the desserts , the custard was to yellow or the rum baba was not quite right THIS IS A FISH N CHIP OPERATION guys ! not a four star restaurant.It's really good , they cook really good crisp, fish, great chips, loads of ketchup tartare sauce, and with glass of beer what could be better ?I took my partner a notoriously difficult pain to feed , on a Wednesday lunchtime for a bit of fish.I had a large wing of skate sparkling fresh and it can be tricky to get this, skate goes off easily and can have a bit ammonia, this was sea fresh, plenty of it with loads of chips , she had scampi and new potatoes, God knows why she has scampi they are always a frozen product often reformed tails, vile , however she likes this and maintains these are as good as she has eaten anywhere.With some sides and a couple of drinks it cost £38 for the two of us, mains were £12 odd...I think this is good value the skate alone is not a cheap fish to buy fresh.Critique nothing really perhaps they could get modern and take off the service " at your discretion" calculated at 15% charge, and leave it for the customers to make their mind up on this, I find it an annoying hidden charge for the restaurant to make a bit more profit, in saying this the service was very good, nothing to much trouble.A good excursion middle week, I have reviewed this before and this update confirms the standards are as always first class HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Enfield Trips.

We had a great family meal here (we are 10 and quite a handful), one of the meals we were given was wrong but it was replaced quickly (even though my husband had already started to eat it before realising!) with no fuss. Very generous portions - make sure you're hungry!

Myself and 2 mates decided to go for dinner and ended up picking this place so we went in had a drink ordered food was very slow for what we ordered then when it did land one of the mains was cold but ate it anyways because of such a wait in the first place chips average and then the cod i ordered the batter was that hard it actually chipped one of my teeth so that was enuf for me so called for bill as if I wasn't bad enough I was hit with a £65 bill for fish and chips and 2 pies and drinks that's a joke never again keep your money and head to bush hill park you will get the same food plus £50 better off and much better food !

We were told by family members that after a year without being able to eat fish and chips, this was the place to break the fast. It was decent but the little things to make it good seemed to be lacking. Chips were a little dry for my liking, the fish a little bland (but still very good) and the prices a little high compared to the prices next door at their own take away. We also ordered some bread and butter and the bread was a little dry with fresh from the fridge butter on the side, making it impossible to spread without tearing the bread to pieces. Another slight negative was being told what to give as a tip. To the glancing eye, I'm sure most will look at the revised total (with 10% added to it) and despite it only being an optional tip, I'm sure most don't realise and think this revised amount is the exact bill and then tip again!If service is good, then I tip. I don't like it being assumed that I should regardless.

The food at Fish & Chips was still as good as ever. Menu had changed slightly since last time and I was disappointed at the omission of Chicken Caesar Salad from the new menu.Service was as good as always, although for the first time we decided to have a dessert and the staff seemed to take a long time between giving us the dessert menus and then actually taking our order.Prices are creeping up a little and for the first time when the bill came we actually thought it was a little on the expensive side.Would still go again though.

This is a proper licensed restaurant as well as a take away. The food is always freshly cooked and it is worth waiting the extra time for this. We normally visit at lunch time for the express menu which is excellent value and yet is still adequate portions. Look out for their 2 for 1 offers at other times. Staff have always been very courteous and efficient on our visits.

Had Sunday lunch at this restaurant today & was really surprised as fish & chip shops are not usually so attractive. The decor was lovely really nice seating with quite a few small booths(4-6 seats) as well as other more open seating arrangements. The Atmosphere was pleasant, & staff very attentive & food first class so a really good experience. Reasonable prices also.will definitely be returning.

We visited for a quick takeaway. I had scampi, my girlfriend had the "express" cod which confused me. Wasn't listed as small, medium or large but express and regular. Maybe it's me as I dont visit fish and chip shops often. The fish was cooked well and the chips were particularly good. The chap didn't offer salt and vinegar so we had to open the food to add it ourselves. Not a big issue but it's not possible to coat the chips etc fully. This is short and sweet and simple.If you want a really crisp fried large piece of fish , I just had fried skate wing, with loads of chips, plenty of Ketchup, maybe a beer or a coke, this is unpretentious great British food.Price is ok say £20 per person all in, service is fine, plates are hot and loaded up.Beats the crap out of Pizza Express and the like when you are hungry.Professional manager who looks over the business like a Mother Hen.Highly recommended............

Popped in after a long day to have a fish & chip supper. We had heard from friends that it served great Fish & Chips. Found the atmosphere was cold & uninviting, we ordered, then had a long wait for which can only be described as very ordinary overpriced fish & chips. The fish was mainly batter not much fish & the chips were soggy.

We have eaten in and had take-away from here. Eating in is great, posh fish and chips with the option of turning it into a 3 course meal! Take-away is great too! Win win!

I came to Salsar regularly because the chips were not greasy however the last time i came the lady carried a plate with fish and chips from the customer, scrapped the chips back into the tray behind the counter. She then took the plate back to the customer.The man then served me these chips.I did not say anything but complained to the Food Standards Agency who didn't respond. I have not been back since because this is unhygienic taken a customer's food and re-serving it.Don't eat here. Buy McCains oven chips

Just called in for takeaway chips and the server didn't have a clue about proper customer service. I did complain and the manager promptly replied and offered a voucher which I won['t be using as I won't be going back.

Ive been to this place a few times as I find myself always craving their food. I got the goats cheese salad and my boyfriend loves their pies. The portions are more than adequate with the prices to match. The food is good quality and fresh and the staff are so friendly.I definitely recommend!!!

There is also a good selection of grilled fish.I recommend the Tiger Prawns, Skate, chips, mushy peas and gherkins.Staff were really helpful and friendly the way it should be!

Visited Fish and Chips, London Road Enfield yesterday with my wife and my mother.As always the food was of outstanding quality, the portions more than adequate.The young staff were well trained and clearly pleased to be there.I would recommend this location to everyone.
