Awful customer service, the bar staff are unfriendly and look miserable you wonder why they have chosen a job in hospitality where surely being courteous and friendly is a must.

The Sunday roast was a great value for the price. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. They even had Halloween decorations for the children, which was a nice touch.

Unhappy with my experience in this pub tonight, as i was minding my own business while on the phone, when a group of people who already seated, later got their menus, and decided to order dinners… I was moved without being asked to another table, not of my choice, I felt uncomfortable with my visit, and won’t be returning again, as I was not asked whether I wanted to move, which was most most professional.

Only just realised this pub is cricket themed! I used to play cricket!!!! I was really good!!!!!!!!

Today I had lunch at the Cricketers with 12 friends. We all agreed the food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were perfect. As a group we visit local pubs for Sunday lunch every month and we all agree the Cricketers is the best.

Really hope this place goes back of the older style that’s hidden just beneath the surface. But a lovely pub with wonderful staff.

Love the cricketers! Super friendly and welcoming. Really nice good, the roast is lovely. I'd just say to make sure you get an earlier booking as popular items sell out quickly!

Friendly bar staff, fair price beer and food

What a great location which is nestled between locals, of course this causes issues for sound and they close early but hey who is going to move a Pub from the 1900's. Food is on par with rivals in the area. Let's talk decor, wow.. if u are a cricket lover you are going to love the hidden gems of history inside.. draft taps made to look like stumps, cricket balls as lights and countless historical photos of the past. For a name like cricketers it can be a little deceiving as even though it sounds like a sports bar, they only have 1 tiny TV... so not a place you want to go watch a final day of a test Match on a Sunday. Service: great young man which I think is from South Africa, great personality and always smiling, but there is most times a Jekyll and Hyde and there was an off day for a young lady who could possibly do with a few shifts off. All in all great historical Restaurant with a mustard seed of becoming a great Sports bar... I would go at least every month with a group of mates to have a quite conversation.

Love this local pub. Either having a drink in the garden or inside, the service is great. Great selection of beers, good food and great atmosphere.

Bad experience. I called to ask if they were still doing roasts I was told yes, told them I'd be there in 20mins. Got there and they had sold out of all options except beef. I said I should have been told that when I called I wouldn't have made the journey. I got the beef anyway and it was a poor roast. The beef was overcooked, soggy Yorkshire, uncrisp potatoes. The whole roast was bland. The pub looks nice but I definitely won't be going back for food. Also no dogs allowed in the pub so I was forced in the garden. Luckily it was a nice day. This pubs not the one.

Friendly staff and the food was good The nachos were a real standout – a huge portion perfect for sharing, or for a very hungry nacho enthusiast like myself. They came loaded with all the classic toppings, and there was a generous amount of delicious dips included. I never ran out of dip, which is a true mark of a great nacho plate! The burger was good, with a tasty overall flavor. However, I would have preferred the patty cooked a bit less. It was a little dry for my taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend. The friendly service and delicious nachos make it a great place to grab a bite. If you're a burger lover, just be sure to mention your preferred cooking temperature when you order.

met up with family for the quiz and a bite to eat out of 3 meals 2 arrived half an hour apart and 1 not at all seeing as though it was only burger and chips you would not have thought it would be to difficult waited for the quiz which was hosted by an illiterate who could not read the questions and rattled through it as if in a race whilst at the bar unfinished drinks were removed from the table at closing one member of bar staff came round and said there was 15 mins drinking up time after 10mins and multiple directions to leave i was told that my glass would be taken and was stood over until my drink was finished I found the staff extremely rude aggressive and incompetent needless to say this was my last visit

Easter very busy but 100 % servic, food ambience great job x my mix grill as usual superb, in fact to much, had the remains for breakfast.

It's an amazing and quiet place to see friends and have a drink with them. The atmosphere was lovely and warm. I felt like I am at home. Definitely will visit again.

Appalling experience. Have been a regular customer. Pub environment lovely and bar staff are courteous but senior management have always been aloof and unwelcoming. Today wanted to have drinks, but on entering pub asked if booked table and then told fully booked. No sign outside pub to say fully booked. Explained only wanted to have drinks and was this not ok? Informed could stay at bar but not sit down. Lots of empty tables not due to be occupied for some hours. Extremely cold and unpleasant attitude from management personnel. Ended up leaving before finishing drinks as felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, which as a paying customer is unacceptable. Went elsewhere where staff were lovely and welcoming despite being busy, Terrible customer service

Nice pub, good food and top star service just a shame they have bbc news playing on tvs come to the pub to get away from bbc news.

We chanced here having been let down, our luck the best pub meal i have had in years, perfectly cooked in a pleasing atmosphere and friendly staff.

Good to see a full pub these days. Had a table next to a warm fire. Pub food was good though the chips could have been better. Happy to go again

Friendly staff. Always a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Parking not always easy as there are only a few spaces outside the pub but it is a very small lane. We usually park in one of the turnings off of the road on the opposite side of Chase Side.

I went to this pub around December time and the food, the staff and the atmosphere was all brilliant. A young lady called esmae was who served me and she was amazing and full of conversation! And was so good with my son. Such a nice pub !

Friendly pub, gastro food. Enjoyed my beetroot burger, and my partner loved his curry. Still need to spend an evening there, not just popping in for lunch.

Food here is absolutely delicious, we had our works Christmas lunch here and considering it was busy with set menu there were no complaints from anyone! Great time had by all!

Two families hoping to have dinner here, but we were turned away as it was busy, however we saw a staff member eating at a table that would have been perfect for us! So we took our business elsewhere.

Lovely pub for old friends' christmas dinner - good service, humerous, welcoming landlord, quirky cricket themed surroundings and hearty honest fare - what's not to love !

Had a wonderful Christmas dinner from the festive menu. Have been coming here for the last 3 years, and each time the food, service and atmosphere is great. The staff are attentive and the entire ambiance is exactly how an evening out should be. Will certainly be coming back time & time again.

Had our Xmas party there and it was fabulous!!!

I grew up in Enfield and last visited the Cricketers many years ago. Decided to book a table for Sunday Lunch with Family for today. On arrival staff were very helpful and friendly and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly. Order for food was taken shortly afterwards. After about 5 minutes there was a power cut and the whole pub was plunged into darkness . The staff were incredibly professional and immediately informed us what was happening and that there may be a delay in the service while the kitchen worked out exactly what was going on. After about 10 minutes we were informed that the power cut was likely to last a few hours and that as such the kitchen would be closing and they would not be able to complete our order. Despite our disappointment we were impressed that staff kept us informed exactly what was going on and took ownership of the whole situation. Many thanks to Abbie and the rest of the staff for looking after us. We will return in the future for our roast dinners.

We walked in on a Friday night for some drinks, first time we've visited here, there is a nice warm welcoming feeling when you walk through the doors. We walked up to the bar and the staff member that served us wasn't welcoming at all, was borderline rude in fact, we got our drinks and sat outside as it was quite busy inside, we thought we would leave and go somewhere else however we brought our empty glasses to the bar and tried to say bye/thanks to the same member of staff but she gave zero eye contact or appreciation for our custom. Maybe it was just a one off and maybe not all the staff are like that, we will give this place another chance in the future hoping it will be a better experience as i liked the feeling of it there and the food looked ok too.

A very cosey little place hidden away at the end of it's own Road. I myself didnt know it was here, a hidden Gem for sure. Food was excellent, Staff were friendly and accomodating, overall a pleasant experience, will be returning. Thank you

Very disappointing lunch. The salad was expensive and mostly consisted of bits of limp lettuce. The burger was not bad but was topped with flavourless cooked minced beef. It is unusual to find really poor coffee but these guys managed to produce some. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day. But it was pretty bad.

Unfortunately my husband and I had a very mediocre Sunday lunch yesterday. Very pleasant governor but food very poor. We had the small plate which was too small for the amount of food on it. The crackling was soggy and tough. The yorkshire pudding was plonked on top of all the food with gravy poured all over it making it look like a wet floor mop.Meal fairly tasty but being British we did,nt complain. No return I am afraid. Valerie

First visit here. Very nice food. I had the large roast with Turkey and Pork. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Service was good and friendly. Already planning my second visit.

Food is OK, chilled white wine isn't chilled enough. Busy pub in a lovely area...main issue is the staff...they are all fairly officious and terse...except one young lady behind the bar who was smiley and great. When you have finished eating your plate is whipped away in a nano second without any interaction. I did try and said to the guy who took my starter plate....'really enjoyed that' I said....the response was 'order some more then'. Nice. How about 'Glad you enjoyed it will you be ordering a main course'The couple and I on the next table giggled as their plates were whisked away whilst they we still chewing there last mouthful. I know this is a chain and therefore the staff probably aren't invested in the business bit think it could be a much better experience. Probably being a bit hard on the staff as this is obviously a management problem...or lack of it.l

Great Sunday lunch - gets busy so worth ordering in advance. Not too many vegetarian options on Sunday lunch but lush regardless!!

We had 20 in our party for Sunday lunch seated in the raised area. Lots of different things ordered from the Sunday menu ( we supplied a pre-order to assist the pub team ) all items delivered by smiling attentive staff. Looking at the empty plates after ,everybody enjoyed the traditional pub food.

Went there for Sunday lunch. I like to order the beef in a pub as you usually get nice rare beef cut from a large joint, not here! The beef was a few very thin slices of over cooked meat not dissimilar to the stuff you buy from supermarkets for sandwich filling. I think they had heated up some left overs as shortly after we got our meals I heard a waitress tell someone that they did not have any beef “at the moment” that was 1.15pm. The vegetables were nothing special, potatoes ok, broccoli over cooked and a spoonful of red cabbage saving grace was a reasonable amount of gravy. It was sold as a “large” portion but I have had much larger standard portions in pubs.

Disappointing Sunday roast, I order the roast beef because in a pub you usually get the chance to have rare meat cut from a large joint. This however was a few thin slices of overcooked meat (reminded me of the stuff you buy from the supermarket for sandwiches). If they did not have a proper joint on the go they should have said something.

Quiz night with mates!! Enjoyable

Waited 40 minutes for staff to take order, eventually one of our party went to search for a waiter. Fish was overcooked, batter dark and crusty and fish within dry and shrunken. Tiny thin fries were tepid and full of hard-baked inedible bits. The roasts also looked overdone and meat was in short supply. Would have complained but we were guests of other members of the party. Our second visit - last time the meal was mediocre as well. Will suggest going somewhere else next time. A shame, because it's a pretty little pub in an interesting location.

Very nice pub located in one of Enfield's nicest spots. Selection of beers and spirits, food and a nice atmosphere. They also have a very nice beer garden, which is ideal for when the weather is nice. Highly recommended for a night out or for your Sunday roast.

I had probably the worst roast lunch ever! Soggy Yorkshire pudding, undercooked potatoes, tasteless gravy and the meal was tepid not hot. Never again. My friends hamburger was overcooked and was not enjoyed either.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch here with my daughter, son in-law and grandson. Provision had been made for where we sat due to having a buggy and a highchair was provided as requested. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was prompt, well cooked and piping hot. My only critism was the portion size was smaller than in the past with very few roast potatoes. I personally only had 5 small cubes, which totalled less than 1 potato. All in all, thoroughly enjoyed our meal and look forward to the next visit

We arrived just before opening at lunchtime on a weekday, the man setting up outside was rude and belligerent. We went in anyway and wished we hadn’t. The pub is beautiful but parking a nightmare. The chef must have had a bad day. The food was greasy and overcooked. Our boys nuggets were dry as a bone and the chips were worse. I sent back the onion rings, burnt and greasy. It’s a shame because I’ve had a lovely Sunday roast here before. The best thing about this visit was our lovely waitress.

Kind, friendly staff and nice drinks and food

Popped in here for lunch and a pint and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been to the Cricketers before on numerous occasions going back nearly 30 years. You can’t beat a McMullen pub - the beer is superb and the menu is always pleasing. Today I had a chicken burger and a pint of Country. Both were delicious. McMullen Country is a fantastic pint of ale and the one I had in The Cricketers was as good, if not better, than the one that I drink in my local. Would definitely recommend this pub - great location, great choice of beers, clean and presentable pub and courteous and friendly service.

We first came here for lunch with my partner then the second time for a family meal. Nice pub and friendly staff's. All my life I lived in Enfield I had never been here even though I go past it everyday. Will be back for drinks soon.

Cozy pub with a nice selection of beer and food. The burger portions were really filling and the service was quick. The outdoora seating was big and comfy but not suitable for a cold winter's day.

What a stunning pub! Really open. Clean and good staff with a good variety of drinks. Cozy sofas and good seating. I'd go back any time.

Great beers and food. Hopefully the quizmaster will get his microphone sorted as the last quiz was cancelled due to no sound! Usually a good quiz every Thursday, although my team alternates with another local pub.

I want to give a shout out to this lovely little pub. I and a group of friends (12) went for a christmas meal. The manager and team looked after us so well. The service was excellent. Very attentive. The food arrived quickly, piping hot. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. 10/ 10.

The food here isn't very good. I didn't finish my meal, the mixed grill was overcooked and the chips were too salty.
