Nothing special here, way too much seasoning/dressing too salty. Decor and seating is good, menu needs improvement.

The menu has a dedicated vegan section. We ordered three vegan dishes. The spicy vegan wrap and vegan fritters were delicious, and they come at a bigger plate that we expected. However the vegan pasta doesn’t have taste at all. The atmosphere was good.

I went out with a girlfriend on Sunday night for a casual dinner. I said let’s just take a stroll along the highroad in Cockfosters and see what we fancy as there are lots of restaurants there. We happen to Park very near Middeys and I had passed it often, but never gone in. I will be going in a lot from now on😊. The minute we arrived at the door. A lovely member of staff rushed to open it for us. It was very warm inside (which was lovely as it was very chilly outside for September). We immediately felt very welcome and Saturday very comfortable table with a banquette which I love. There is something on the menu for everybody, but we just fancied a burger. There are quite a few to choose from. The service and the food is very very good, and reasonable. Thank you very much for a lovely evening. We will be back very soon.😊

Had a very nice late lunch at Middeys yesterday. In fact one of the nicest meals of our trip to the UK from NZ. Great staff, great atmosphere

Excellent - a really enjoyable all round experiences

Had a lovely brunch here with my friend. I ordered the french toast (i definitely recommend this!) and my friend ordered a salad which was a good size. To drink, I ordered a chai latte which was lovely and not too strong..just how i like it! My friend ordered a hot chocolate. Both came with a little biscuit. Service was great, servers were very friendly. Toilet was clean and well kept.

I've been here many times with family, friends, or my toddlers. Each and every time we have an enjoyable experience. The food tastes good, it's presented with thought, and the service is exceptional.

Good service with a varied menu

Came here two days in a row and the service was alright the waiter doesn’t really care feels like and doesn’t help out on the menu just says I don’t know to me which is unprofessional. The burger I will recommend not wow but good but the other foods are tasteless no effort being put into feels like doesn’t taste correct not a good place to have good food at all

Ordered spaghetti meatballs and a burger for delivery, the meat was raw and disgusting in both dishes. Completely inedible. The chips were soggy and unsalted too.

Excellent place for breakfast any time of the day, I’m yet to try their lunch or dinner menu, but I’m sure it will not disappoint! Great staff, quick service and lovely restaurant overall, I do recommend:D

I used to come here a lot but the last few visits were disappointing as prices are very high and portions too small. Today we had brunch and I really regretted it. Staff are not friendly at all and today we had the Mediterranean breeze breakfast and while it says choice of egg you couldn't choose scrambled and when it came we realised why. It was only one egg. I have been to so many cafes in Barnet and I have never been offered one egg in a main breakfast mix, especially when it costs more than 13£. Like come on this is ridiculous, just add one more egg. And I have been told that can't choose scrambled eggs when it says choice of egg. You have to write it on your menu: one egg fried or poached/boiled. Definitely I will not be coming back here anymore. Such a shame you charge so much and offer so little and you staff are so arrogant and not friendly at all.

10 or so of us went there to enjoy the evening. Upon entering it was quite loud but a good vibe/atmosphere. 5 out of 5 for that. Food - over priced and not much for vegetarians in the evening. Pasta (over priced) and chips and a few other bits which were over priced. The drinks again were well over priced. I would give a 3.5 if I could. The menu needs to be improved massively. However, the vibe and music is decent.

Went this morning for Brunch with friends. Restaurant not overly busy. We were upstairs, very quiet. Firstly my friends tea was served in a teapot, no milk given alongside. Waiter asked but no acknowledgement given and milk just dropped onto the table - say something atleast, apologise, even smile. My breakfast (also semi cold) was served with no toast even though menu listed served with toast . When I asked the waiter peered into my plate to check - I suppose to see if I'm lying & if there was evidence of crumbs & then he said he would check with the kitchen . My point is to the Restaurant, its only toast. Don't be rude and peer into a customers plate & the statement I will check with the kitchen translates to the customer as I'll double check its not our fault. Unfortunately I will never come again. Its a local restaurant but there are many more fabulous choices alongside Cockfosters Road that I would rather part my money with. Tip brush up on service please.

Stopped here for a quick coffee with a friend. Very warm welcome by staff even though we only wanted coffees. Coffees were very well presented and came with a biscuit. Great service and door held open for us by staff on arrival and departure. Will definitely be back another time for food as a result of such a positive experience.

Lovely breakfasts and good service.

Service was lovely, food was flavoursome, and they had a separate halal section on the menu with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too :) I had the halal New York and it was delicious and filling.

Our visit to Middey's was marred by a disappointing experience, as the restaurant denied us entry due to their strict no-dogs policy, despite our canine companion being a trained service dog. The staff displayed a lack of understanding and unwillingness to accommodate our needs, forcing us to seek an alternative dining option. The overall atmosphere, coupled with indifferent staff, diminished the overall appeal of Middey's. Recognising and respecting the rights of individuals with service animals is crucial for creating an inclusive environment, an aspect in which Middey's unfortunately fell short. Until they reconsider their policies to better accommodate diverse customers, particularly those with service animals, we cannot recommend Middey's for a welcoming and accommodating dining experience.

It's OK. About what you'd expect from a brasserie. Expensive for what it is. Just my opinion. Staff seemed nice however.

Great resturant, food was good but not to the quality I was expecting, I would still recommend. I would suggest the milkshake for sure as that was the best part of the experience.

Amazing restaurant, always amazing and quick service

Came here for a coffee a few days ago after being turned away at another place a few doors down that said we had to buy food as well. It was wonderful to receive a such a warm welcome when we asked if we could just come in for a coffee and really lifted our spirits. Staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was cosy and stylish. Haven't been here in a few years but will definitely be returning soon to try out the food and will be recommending to others.

So I got food poisoning from the chef legend sandwich. That wasn't the main problem, when I tried to address the manager about it, he came on the defensive and tried to say it was my allergies that I may not know about and how the food was cooked freshly on the day. Not acknowledging that food poisoning can come from multiple other situations. In the end, I got a refund but the food was bland and as mentioned, I didn't expect to get that response from the manager.

Ordered the burger and chips. I must admit, its the worst burger i have ever had. It was dry and tasteless. Sorry On the other hand, the mocha was lovely.

So nice I did it twice. Always a treat gotta love Bobby and his staff. From soup to nuts, they have it all. Gull bar for branching booze crowd, champagne for the more refined. Terrible service, we booked at the beginning of the week for today at 6pm but from 5pm they started calling us to arrive earlier. When my mother arrived, they said I had to arrive before 6pm otherwise there wouldn't be a table, once I arrived they started asking and pressuring us to order immediately without any friendliness. The manners are inadequate, friendliness and smiles are missing. As an Italian, I only have to say, 2 thousand years after our Roman ancestors arrived on your island and found barbarians, 2 thousand years later you may be the financial center of the world but you continue to be barbarians, indeed, savages.

Oh wow this place is special! The decor is amazingly cozy and stylish. I had the breakfast brunch and my husband has the halal breakfast both were amazing I didn’t reach for Salt or pepper or any condiments as the food was seasoned to perfection!. Staff were dressed very smartly in shirt and bow tie and service was. Good. I would definitely recommend this place especially as something a little special

I only ended up here due to the train strikes in London . A woman on her own. I had no idea how I was going to get home to Northampton. But my son was on his way . But 2hour away. So I found somewhere that I hope I would feel safe and warm . So had dinner here . I'm so glad I did . Made me feel safe and comfortable. Food was fantastic. Unfortunately I probably will never go there again. And it is so far away from where I should have been . This definitely would have been somewhere I would definitely take my family and friends. Thank you for making this bad train strikes experience. So much better . Definitely 5 stars all round ✨️

Amazing food and lovely decor inside, the staff and owner there is very friendly, would definitely recomend this place for a breakfast/brunch or lunch, parking there is pay and display right outside so not to much to walk in the rain, good luck and looking forward to coming back

highly uncomfortable experience a few days ago. I had ordered a mocktail and it had arrived very watery. My husband suggested I tell the waiter as restaurants are usually more than happy to replace a drink/dish if it is not to the customers expectations upon arrival. I called over the waiter and explained I did not like the drink and I preferred the one my husband had. The waiter asked me what was wrong with the drink, I explained and then he said he needs to call his manager. This made it feel like a massive ordeal when it’s not. In every other restaurant I have been to, the waiter has taken a plate away without consulting the manager - this is normal practice. This felt really intimidating and in my experience, terrible customer service. When the manager came, he kept asking me what was wrong with the drink and said i need to explain in detail what is wrong with it in a patronising tone. He kept asking me if I had stirred the drink. After interrogating me he decided to change the drink. I was extremely shocked I was spoken to in such a rude way for such a minor thing? It’s my money and I will only spend it on things that are to a good standard. This treatment ruined my whole experience as the restaurant is quite small and intimate. Rudeness aside, the food was very average in my opinion. My steak wrap had no flavour, the curly fries were good but they were straight out of a freezer obviously so I could’ve had that at home. I suggest management review their tone when speaking to customers who raise complaints and don’t get defensive.

Came here as a suggestion from other people and what a suggestion it was! As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by the door with a smile and had the door held open for us. Simple but effective customer service. We were sat down straight away, in a nice cosy booth with a comfy sofa. Within a few minutes of ordering our food arrived. The presentation, as you can see from the photos was fantastic. The food was fresh, warm/hot and full of flavour. Definitely hit the spot! The restaurant itself is kept nice and clean, well presented and has a fairly fancy, but also comfy atmosphere, making it perfect for a great dining experience. Price wise, it's not cheap, however with the location and the food quality that you have, it's definitely worth the price. 10/10 from me, would definitely recommend to others and would definitely come back again!

Really nice restaurant with spoilt-for-choice breakfast options for all types of diets, including gluten free 😁 Fantastic customer service, tasty food, brilliant ambiance and very attentive polite staff, who are not pushy and don’t rush you to order or finish the food. This is my 3rd visit and each time the food has been delicious with a unique Middle Eastern twist.

Been here a few times in the past but this was my first time since the swanky refit. Very impressive. Visited for Sunday Brunch. A very good selection of breakfast and brunch options with amazing juices freshly prepared. The service was lighting fast and most importantly the food was hot (none of this warm rubbish). Staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was just right (but the music was a bit loud as we had to raise our voices on our table to be heard).

Just received middys breakfast plus extras and drinks and I have to say all were excellent quality and proportions. I have ordered from here many times and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work guys and a special thanks to Kaan the manager sorry If I misspelt his name.

I truly appreciate a clean environment in a dining establishment, and this restaurant certainly lived up to my expectations in that regard. Moving on to the facilities, the toilets were also clean and well-maintained. As for the drink I ordered, it was decent, but I felt it lacked a bit of flavor. Perhaps a more robust option or a creative twist on the drink would have made it more enjoyable. The service is so bad. Took my family out and our plates were still full and the lady asked us twice if we had finished even though she can clearly see plates are still full? I felt rushed to eat up and get out.

We visited Middley's on a Sunday and understandably it was busy, however due to the positive reviews we were happy to wait for a seat. Once inside our order was taken quickly. It was over 45minutes until food arrived for our 4 year old son and our meals did not come for a further 20 minutes. No explanation or apologies during the long wait. In addition to this, drinks we had requested never arrived and were still added to the bill. Overall the food was average, service slow and clumsy. Very disappointing.

Mixed opinion! Really good, trendy music and nice food but… £42 for two people to have breakfast is just too much! I know that this restaurant is in an expensive area but it was just not worth the price. We got the smoked salmon breakfast with avocado and poached eggs, a smoothie and a coffee. I was also disappointed that for such a LARGE restaurant, there was only one female toilet and one male toilet? Unless I am mistaken and there are more toilets upstairs? Correct me if I am wrong!

We came to Middeys after a long journey and it was only place open! They showed the football that was going on at the time and our servers were kind and attentive, always asking after us to see if we wanted anything. The food and drink were incredible and we’ve returned a few more times every time we go to Cockfosters!
