Finsbay Flatiron in Glasgow City

Great location in Glasgow friendly staff very helpful food was delicious I had the Sunday roast and my daughter opted for the signature steak

After seeing all my fellow foodies rave about this place all over Instagram I thought it was finally time to give it a try!! Turning up I was a bit taken a back as there was a Halloween party on in the bar and I didn’t realise there was a seperate restaurant section but then the waiter to our relief took us next door to a cute little cosy area- so take note when visiting!! The staff were all so lovely here also, just as a wee side note! The menu is quite small, but what that indicates to me is what they do they do well! I of course went for the steak topped with gochujang prawns 🍤 and garlic butter sauce. For my side I went for the garlic cheesy truffle fries. Don’t know honestly where to start when it comes to this meal- it was the best I’ve had in a longgg while!!! The steak I had medium rare and was cooked to absolute PERFECTION. The prawns were delicious also!!! And the garlic butter genuinely just made the meal. Now the absolute star of the show for me though was these garlic truffle Mayo fries- ugghh they were so good. My mouth is actually watering just thinking of them now !! 🤤🤤🤤 The cocktail menu looked fab here also but didn’t feel like drinking this night so passed (not like me 😂) Fiance went for the chicken burger with a side of the most cheesiest maccaroni I’ve ever seen. He on the other hand said it was alright, chicken a bit overcooked but macaroni amazing. The prices in this place are actually sooo affordable also, the steak only being £14!! So it’s definitely worth a visit when your next in the west end area. I’ll definitely be returning

My mum bought itison vouchers for us to use for their festive menu and omg, the food was unbelievable!! Fresh, hot amd delicious food!! Staff were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. We booked an itison voucher and had to pre book our meal through email…not the worst thing to happen but you instantly get off on a bad foot, thinking its all of this going to be pre made and then given out! Yip that’s exactly what happened, it’s such poor quality food and then to give customers absolutely freezing cold mains…it is up there with the worst food we’ve ever had in Glasgow. The server was alright and was happy to take away the poor steak and veg and try and fix it but to be honest it’s just not good enough. Maybe if you are an itison voucher customer you receive a poorer quality of food…who knows, but we won’t be back

Me & my partner were here for a table booked at 8:30pm. We arrived early & was able to get a few drinks before getting sat down. With it being christmas, we were well warned that there is a significant wait with multiple large table orders being booked. Completely understandable & appreciate the heads-up instead of avoiding the awkward conversation. Waited for around an hour for our order, but was definitely worth it. Sides & Steaks were great, just be careful that if you are used to ordering a medium rare steak, it will more than likely be on the rare side. Highlight of the trip were the staff. The girls that served us were brilliant, there’s few places I’ve been to where I’ve felt so welcomed. Regardless of it being a busy night, they were top notch. Good prices & overall really impressed. Will be back!

My Husband booked this for my birthday meal, and we had a great night out. They do some fab cocktails and the service is wonderful. Think they were having a few issues in the kitchen, but we understand this was to be rectified this week. We will definitely return when we are next in Glasgow.

Disappointing. Asked for steak to be medium/well and it came back rare. Asked for it to be cooked some more, came back medium/rare. Sides were underwhelming and bland

Pretty disappointing experience all round, We were going out for my partners brothers birthday and when we arrived the place was pretty dark. We asked for the lights to be turned up slightly as you couldn’t even read the menu. They turned the lights up for maybe 30 seconds before turning them back down, I politely asked if they could be turned back up again as we literally couldn’t read the menu (multiple tables had flashlights out). The female staff on the night were very nice about this however the male (what seemed to be manager) was incredibly rude and told us “that’s how it’s supposed to be”. It’s a real shame as the food is really nice but they set themselves up for failure by not having enough staff on and not enough chefs. It took us over an hour to receive our food and by that time we’d already spent a considerable amount of money on drinks. In the past, it seemed to be good music, good food, good service but from our recent experience it’s went incredibly down hill. Crap pop music, rude staff and not an environment you’d want to be in for the prices they are charging. For a family of 5 to be going out for a celebratory meal to have this experience is disappointing. I’d maybe be understanding if the male staff member didn’t argue back and treat us like we were in the wrong. The only thing stopping this from being a one star was the female members of staff. Especially the woman in the Carhartt vest. She was very good at her job and did everything she could within the circumstances.

Took a trip to Finsbay Flatiron after seeing a lot of hyped up videos on social media. Myself and my partner went for our anniversary dinner (we booked online and made a note of this in comments). When we arrived, it was quiet with a lot of empty tables, we were put at a table in the corner near the start of the restaurant which was pretty tight, the table slightly rocky and the table itself felt sticky. We tried to overlook this. We waited a while to be served both our drinks and food for a quiet Thursday afternoon. I feel the service extremely let this visit down, I had tried to offer a non-alcoholic cider as I had saw someone else had ordered in pictures/videos on tiktok but was informed they “didn’t do these” and wasn’t offered an alternative option. My partner when ordering his steak after for it to be medium well and was then told this would be “too chewy” so we opted for medium steaks but these came looking more rare than medium. The steak was good despite not being cooked to our preference so we overlooked this. The sides options were lovely though and couldn’t fault these. The Mac and cheese was especially a winner. No one came back to ask how our food was or if we were ok, again despite it being quiet. We then waited a while for the table to be cleared and then again when we had asked for the bill. I had to take our payment up to the bar and nothing was said upon our departure. For a £4.80 service charge on top of our bill, we personally expected a better experience, service wise, as we felt we were just shoved in the corner and forgotten about. This was supposed to be a special anniversary dinner after hearing such good things but left pretty disappointed. We aren’t ones to complain or make a big deal as we get how hard hospitality sector can be but this was a huge letdown. Unfortunately, we will not be returning due to these reasons which is a shame considering the food was decent.

Visited Finsbay Flatiron tonight on a 5pm deal. It was the same steak as you get on full price. We requested medium rare steaks which were chewy. If you have been to one of the London Flatiron restaurants this is nowhere as good although it is not the same chain they are replicating the dining model. Be careful of the cooked greens as they have horseradish sauce. Staff were friendly and service was ok. If you go here request to be in the main area of the restaurant, we were in the rear restaurant which had no atmosphere. This was a very average dining experience and won’t be in a hurry to go back. I would rather pay more for one of Glasgow’s better steak restaurants.

I was apprehensive about going to this restaurant after reading online reviews. I had an Itison voucher, so had to go. It exceeded all expectations. The staff were brilliant, especially Gerry, who advised us on our steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. We will be back.

Went here on the 19th of July with a friend and was looked after by the lovely Loraine. The steak was cooked to perfection and we shared the side of green veg, Parmesan fries and mac&cheese. Could not fault the food at all. The service was fantastic and very attentive, drinks were even better and food was immaculate.
