My partner and I recently booked a table at Fino Tapas in Preston for a birthday celebration, and it has quickly become one of our top restaurants! Our experience was fantastic, and I can't help but share how much we enjoyed it. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or a cozy dinner date. But let's talk about the food! We started with the hummus and pitta bread, a great way to kick off the meal. The hummus was delicious, and the pitta was warm and soft. Next up were the meatballs – juicy, flavorful, and a real treat. The highlight for us was the chorizo in red wine. Wow! The rich, savory flavors were amazing, and it's definitely a new favorite of ours. The chicken in garlic and cream sauce was another hit. The tender chicken and creamy sauce were just right. And the patatas bravas with feta cheese and caramelized onions? So tasty! We kept going back for more. To finish off, we had the churros. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with a great dipping sauce – a perfect sweet ending to our meal. Fino Tapas has really nailed it. The food is great, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is just what we were looking for. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and book a table. You won't regret it! Visited Fino Tapas last month with a group reservation on Saturday and they were busy, but still providing excellent care to all of the customers. Last night I went with my friend and it was nice relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was too much for Lee and Alex in making sure we have everything we need to have a good evening. They were providing excellent care, checking in regularly with casual chatting, giving advice on menu options. We started off with drinks in Plau ground floor, then we were taken to our table on first floor. Food was brought to us just after it was ready and we enjoyed it. We then moved to the second floor to enjoy the terrace and holiday atmosphere with our coffee. we will definitely return. Thank you

I came here for the first time, with a friend around 4pm on Thursday. The lovely restaurant was empty and I must admit to having reservations about what the meal would be like. However, encouraged by the great reviews, we stayed. We were not disappointed at all, as each plate of tapas was generous and delicious. We chose 3 plates each from the 3 for £12.95 lunch menu and then asked for one more calamari and a vanilla ice cream. Totally, absolutely amazing quality food and great value. The waiter was extremely pleasant and very professional and the dining room beautifully presented. I can't wait to return.

Loved everything about this place. Incredible value for money, beautiful building upstairs, really tasty food and nice wine. Service was attentive and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere for a lunch date. We will definitely return.

Great atmosphere, visited with friends but would be very romantic. Excellent wine and help to choose something I would enjoy. The food is really nice, all the usual tapas favourites done well.

An absolutely wonderful little tapas bar very handily located. Also surprisingly affordable - ideal for a cheap student date night! Drinks selection was somewhat limited, but the food more than made up for it.

A quiet Wednesday evening in January so can’t judge atmosphere but it’s a nicely styled place, but smaller than the previous location which makes it a bit more cosy/comfortable. Chefs did a great job, really good tapas made my birthday keep it up guys

It was a very enjoyable visit at Fino. There were 3 of us and each one of us said the menu was great, the food served was fresh, tasty and presented well. David, who was our server that evening, was super friendly and chatty. We are vegetarian and must say there was plenty of choice on the menu for us. The place itself is very nice with a good decor and super pleasant vibe. I would definitely recommend and I hope to go back there and try other dishes very soon!

Awful food, and overpriced poor quality food.

Poor service, poor attitude. We went at the old location and previous owners…completely different don’t be fooled by the same name! We won’t ever go back sadly!

Food was good, the waiter with the dark hair and beard was actually very rude. Spoke to my friend so condescendingly, after she asked for an extra plate he exclaimed in an incredibly patronising way that "we only actually recommend 3 plates per person" which I understand yes may be a recommendation, but the way in which he spat it out was so patronising, to which my friend felt the need to justify? I'm sorry, but we literally wanted to spend more money... and you could have been much more polite. It took 20 minutes at least to get water, then a further 15 for the drinks...with the same waiter. He essentially dropped the water and walked off as soon as we asked for drinks. He also couldn't wait to walk away from the table whilst we were ordering food. Not to mention the fact that he shunned us for not wanting to pay a service charge. I'll pay that happily if the service was actually worthy. Honestly wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for his demeanor, which made us feel very unwanted and looked as though he genuinely couldn't be arsed being there. Other than that, the food was good, reasonably priced and well presented. Oh, and the other waitress was lovely. Shame about the other one.

Disappointing choice due to lack of several items on the menu. Decent quality, inadequate value for money

I left a little disappointed with our meal at Fino. The service was poor & there were many menu items (bar & food) which were not available. I think this was down to them recently moving, so maybe I am being a little harsh. I would try again, I just think I caught them on a bad night.

Had a few issues booking I confirmed the time for a 10 person table twice and when we did arrive they’d given it to a table of 3 people then told we’d have to wait half an hour which meant one of our party had to leave. As we were seated there was another party of people that were kicking off for rude staff who then complained at my partner. The food was good and the service we had wasn’t too bad just seriously disappointed by the booking screw up especially as it was my sister’s graduation day and then some food didn’t turn up it was just a bit naff. The sangrias are 10/10 though

Just had a food at Finos after my grandaughters graduation. 7 people in all, and we all had food from the tapas menu. It exceeded our expections. Delicious food, efficient staff. A most enjoyable experience and a delightful end to an amazing day. Thankyou to all the staff at Finos for contributing to making this a memorable day.for my grandaughter. Will definetly be back. And will highly recommend to family and friends.

What a nice surprise! No words… everything, literally everything was perfect. The service, the atmosphere, the staff and the food? Unbelievably good! As Portuguese I’m very used to these foods and I can tell they are legit! Those churros in the end … such a masterpiece :)

Astonishing value lunchtime tapas. We ordered 3 each for £12 a head (plus some small supplements on some dishes) and it was way too much food for us. Everything was excellent except the roast sardines which were a bit skinny and dry. A really nice room they've just moved into (hopefully those panels will get a second coat of paint soon :). Very quiet lunchtime but it should be very atmospheric on a busy evening session.

Plau as we knew it is dead.. sadly the “fino” franchise decided that the diverse and expensive small plates on offer before the takeover where obviously not what the people of Preston wanted.. the staff were extremely young, inexperienced and not interested in working in the service industry. Upon taking our order, the young lad who was barely out of school asked us “do you want some food?” In possibly the most unenthusiastic manner possible, the drinks choice is now just larger, no craft keg or cask from downstairs as it is run as a separate entity. As for the food.. we ordered 6 plates, the highlight being the fine bean salad and the croquettes but it was down hill from there, the “Spanish” black pudding was 2 pieces of the bury black pudding company which is £1 for 4 slices in most major supermarkets, I’m a betting man and I would bet big! The prawns were bland, the patatas bravas were average and the pigs cheek was cold. I get the impression the businessman behind fino and his other ventures gets extremely giddy, makes lots of rash decisions then gets bored when it goes wrong…

First time at the new restaurant. We have been many times before to the other venues. Always super tasty food and never waiting long. Great value and friendly staff. They need to bring back the salt cod fritters they were my absolute fav 😍

The food was lovely when we eventually got to order it. Water was served but didn't offer drinks. Sat 10 to 15 minutes before drink order was taken. Only one other party of 2 that were served before us. We waited ages to pay the bill. So tempted to walk out without paying because nobody seamed to care. 5 Of us ate at £50 per head so a little bit more service would have been appreciated.

We did the bottomless brunch which was amazing! All staff were helpful but especially Becky the manager who went above and beyond to serve us drinks and check we were satisfied with food as well as our drinks. Would recommend to anyone who wants authentic Spanish tapas and good cocktails.

Had an afternoon Tipsy Tapas for our wedding anniversary. 6 dishes and 2 hours trying prosecco, cocktails and beer. Was a bit dubious it would be hard to get served being as it was all you could drink in the 2 hrs. How wrong, our waitress Becky was excellent and not once did we have an empty glass. She even explained what was in the cocktails and showed us the bottles and alcohol volume. Great service and Definitely was tipsy walking home ☺️

Very disappointed. The food tasted was OK, but not authentic. The low score was the staff. It's like they didn't want our custom. The place wasn't overly busy, but waited over 20 min and had to ask twice just to order drinks. If the food we ordered 4 dishes never turned up. When we asked we were told we wouldn't get charged! No apology for the lack of food. Empty wine bottles and wine glasses couldn't even get their atte tion to try and sell us more wine! On the plus side it was comfortable and we had a great catch up with friends

Food ok but menu seems limited since my last visit. I know it was a busy Saturday night but waiting over 20mins for a drink and 40mins before starter of flatbread and dip served and followed almost immediately with rest of food. Would probably visit again to give it another try in the future.

Not sure where to start with this but I’m gutted to be leaving such a bad review. We had especially driven 40 mins to come here for a meal as it used to be our favourite place. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Soon as we walked in we felt so unwelcome, the staff ignored us from the very beginning. After waiting ten minutes on our grubby table looking at grubby menus, and after asking staff if we could get a drink repeatedly, we walked out. When we said we’d had enough, the staff member just looked at us and smiled and said have a good evening. Will never go back again

Really poor experience.. my partner had been before and highly recommended it but was surprised by the drop in standard.. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday it wasn't busy and lots of waiting on staff, most were miserable and sullen. Just all stood at the bar chatting. BUT we waited a very long time to just order drinks, which i had get the attention of a staff member to order,even longer to order our food. Only one meal was really nice and no one even checked our food was OK. The quickest service we received was asking for the bill then the machine provided for payment. I would avoid it, a Macdonalds would give better value for money and better service.

Food was mediocre at best, very bland, edible but not worth paying for. I had a mojito which was extremely sour. On top of that the tables and the floor were very sticky?

This was on a Wednesday lunch time, the restaurant was very quiet. We were informed by the waitress of the unavailable foods and drinks even before we ordered. I can only describe the food as mediocre and extremely garlic laden.

Was looking forward to going here for my dads 70th birthday, however we were all left considerably disappointed. They had many items missing off the menu and also no drinks on draught and offered warm beer only for the same price. Service was slow, glasses and dirty plates left all on the table, wrong meals sent out and one member left waiting for their meal to arrive when we had all nearly finished eating. They had a cheek to add a service charge on top of receiving this abysmal service and not even an apology. We will not be returning and definitely won’t be recommended to others.

For me the food was overly greasy, the staff were lovely though and the place is very nice, I just didn't really like the food that much.

I’ve waited 2 months to calm down to write this review. Let me take you on a journey that I hope no woman, child or man has to go through. First off, we waited around an hour before we piped up to ask where our food was. Thankfully we received two of the eight dishes an additional 10 minutes later. The beef dish was nice, but to accompany that was sourdough served with that can only be described as vegetable oil (described as olive oil on the menu). We complained to the waitress who unapologetically took the dish away. 10 minutes later we receive two more of the remaining six dishes left, which turned out to be our last. This is because they had lost the rest of our order. At this point our patience had already worn thin and our backup plan to find somewhere else to eat was in full swing. While we decided, we tucked into the meat board and the most flavourless calamari you can imagine that we also sent back. We knew it wasn’t just us as I saw another pristine portion of calamari that was abandoned from some other poor souls who probably left disappointed. Two hours into this test of endurance, the manager comes over to apologise about the service and the food. It turns out that there had been some issues with the tills which somehow also affected the chefs ability to cook a decent meal. He assured us that the last four dishes would come but we all wanted to be home by 6am… Instead, he offered us a free round of drinks and 50% off the bill which, in all fairness, was the only salvation in this dire situation. To make matters worse for the restaurant, we saw a celebrity BBC radio presenter dining on a nearby table. My girlfriend had a conversation with him on the way out and also had similar complaints about the service. Apparently one of the chefs had walked out. It’s a shame we didn’t know this earlier because we have walked out with him. We left the restaurant disappointed, hungry, but optimistic to get some nice food elsewhere. We went round the corner to find a burger place called Boo that I can highly recommended. I’m sure Fino has high ratings because the food and service was good once upon a time, however, if the standard is continuing to the level it was when I visited, save yourself the stress and disappointment.

The food was good however the service was diabolical. Firstly, as we arrived we were told there were no prawns, chicken liver parfait, mushroom croquets or beer on tap, which was really disappointing for 6pm on a Saturday evening. One of our party ordered the sardines however we were told a short time later that they had also ran out of sardines and the waitress said she would come back to take an alternative option but she never came back to do this. They then added the sardines to our bill at the end even though we never had them. They also forgot two of our plates. We had ordered drinks but as they took so long to come, one of us went to the bar to cancel them, however the man behind the bar was stood on his phone and completely blanked us. We also had to ask 3 times for some more water. We were a group of 8 and we’re seated out the way which made it really difficult to get the attention of the wait staff. To note, it wasn’t overly busy and there were several tables free. It was a really disappointing meal for our friends birthday and we won’t be going back.

The food was good, but the experience was not. We had made the booking well in advance, so we were disappointed when we were told that they had run “out of cocktails” an hour before we had to leave. when in fact he just wanted us to leave. However, another waitress was kind enough to explain that the table was booked out. It was frustrating that we were asked to leave early. To top it off, they forgot what we had ordered. Overall, the experience was not great.

Celebrated our son's 30th Birthday in early March. The food was lovely and was served very quickly once we had ordered. Disappointed that on arrival we were told several items were unavailable, including Chorizo! Service was a little slow in terms of ordering. Also no decaffeinated coffee or tea available

The place is beautiful, the atmosphere is inviting, and very relaxing. However, food quality wasn't up to our minimum expectations. And even though everyone was very friendly, for customer service, it needs some improvement.

Had a lovely evening on Friday night. Our waitress (long blonde hair with a pink claw clip) had a great sense of humour and good food recommendation whilst we all really enjoyed. The only think that's let the dinner down was the desserts. The chocolate for the churros was very bitter and the Custard dessert was bland and very close to splitting.

First time here and I loved it. It was our 1st anniversary meal and here made it perfect.

What a difference from the other times I have eaten there. Prawn dish had shrunk to 5 prawns in a small dish, no change in price, very disappointed.

Amazing food, decent atmosphere (could be a tiny bit darker?). Service could have been better but that may have been due to visiting late-ish (8pm) which I understand to a point, but may make sense to stop bookings earlier and give 100% service throughout. Had to get the staff's attention to order more drinks/tapas which wasn't idea. Very friendly and again the tapas was excellent. Would come again.

Oh Dear. I have been to this restaurant on 4 occasions previously when working In Preston. Unfortunately tonight they were not taking walk ins even though the restaurant wasn't even a third full. We were turned away. Such a shame as we always make a night of it and very rarely have spent less than £120 on previous visits. We of course will try again but very disappointed

The food was really good, however my companions food arrived well before mine and I had to ask where my food was multiple times. A good 20 minutes passed between his and mine.

Food was amazingly good! Sangria tasted really nice. Though had to wait quite a bit for my dessert to be served, overall experience was great.

Sadly one star is too generous for what we have just experienced. The point of one star would be too generous. Whilst the manager tried to make amends it just doesn't fix the issue. After 1 hour and 20 minutes we only had been served 4 plates ( 1 was cold and sent back and we ordered for 7 people so you can judge what was missing). We were then told the rest of the order had been missed off (maybe it was written with one of those disappearing ink pens) . It was meant to be a birthday meal and turned out to be a disaster. Clearly the system in place has some fundamental flaws. A crowd of charging Wildebeest will not get me back through the doors.

We came for just a few tapas and wine and everything was good. The service was excellent! Thank you to Jake for taking care of us and being considerate of food allergies/intolerances. We will definitely come back again.

Tasty food.. place empty but was the Sunday before Christmas so hard to comment accurately on atmosphere. Some food came out cold but was dealt with quickly.

Tasty, good value, friendly and efficient service, excellent location, cool decoration with big bold murals. One oddity, it's named, Fino, after a very popular drink, that it doesn't offer for sale, even though there's a good sherry behind the bar only available as a cocktail ingredient.

Just popped in for a meal with my mum and just wanted to say a big thank you to Jake, Holly and the rest of the staff. The meal was fantastic & the service was 10/10. Cheers guys.

We went for a lunch tapas set. Happy with the service and very generous food quantity. Couldn’t finish all. Very attentive service. Thumbs up!

The place is very bright and the acoustics are terrible. The place was about a third full but the staff of which there were only 3 servers insisted that everyone sat on top of each other adding to the echo and creating a squeeze for the servers. The night we visited they only had one house lager on which isn't worth it unless you're driving and they didn't have the wine I asked for. We waited for 15 minutes to order a drink, another 15 to order food which came sporadically between 30-60 minutes later. I had 3 sardines which were the size of anchovies which I felt was naughty. The prawns were nice but took an hour to arrive after I'd ordered them, therefore 90 minutes after arriving so treated them as a pudding. I will not be going back. Fino means fine in Spanish, it also means gentleman and ladylike!

Decent variety on the menu and quick service. Some dishes were excellent and some a bit average but overall a good place for some Tapas. Ideal for large groups.

Fantastic PBG Christmas Do last night. Food delicious and a great amount. Had a Victoria beer from Malaga which brought back memories. Even the train chaos didn't mar the evening.

Went tonight as part of a group. No heating, leaking toilets and not good

Went for lunch and it was freezing had to keep our coats on

We arrived on time to our booking, the table wasn't ready and we waited 40minutes to get seated. We ordered drinks and nibbles for the waiting area. The drinks arrived 30min later and the nibbles never arrived, despite mentioning we had a pregnant lady who needed to eat. Once seated, we explained there was a few different dietary requirements- vegetarian, pescatarian and lactose intolerant, which we were told would be dealt with before the food came out. Those with intolerances were not catered for. We had one pescatsrian dish but the veg person and dairy free only had potatoes and bread, we had to ask for the mushroom dish to be lactose free. We asked for drinks multiple times and they would take 20/30 mins to arrive and needed reminders to the staff. The same bottle of wine was ordered 3 times before it arrived and at which point we needed to ask for glasses twice after that. After we had been there for 2 hours 20 minutes we were still waiting for 3 dishes each. Our pregnant person had to leave she was that hungry as well as our vegetarian. We told the staff to cancel the food in the end as we were so disappointed and had waited so long. After spesking to the manager it was clear the feedback had not been taken on board. Fino has been a firm favourite for years, safe to say we will never return. You have lost loyal customers.

Food was nice but the place was extremely cold, this has happened on 2 occasions I have been. Also all the staff were very chaotic , we had to keep asking them to serve us with food and drinks. They got our bill wrong. The people in front of us when paying also had an issue with their bill so we had to wait ages for it to be sorted. Then they had to adjust our bill as they had charged twice for items. Not sure we'll go again after this!!!

Superb food, can think of only a few other tapas restaurants as good or better. One in Manchester run and owned by a native Catalan and the others are in Barcelona. Service was great also, food and drinks all served quickly , efficiently and with a smile. I had to give the Atmosphere 5 stars but tbh it was a Wednesday night and the place was probably a quarter full but I can imagine a busier time of week it would be buzzing. Pricing was reasonable also.
