The lady on front was so rude to the staff she was working with , swore at one !! Shouting to someone in the kicken area behind the wall . Very rude and not polite to myself . Large order some missing . Potion was ridiculously small . Was about ready to leave and a staff member I think come in and she was swearing shouting and abuse to her the staff member said something and walked off !! I feel for the staff member it was totally uncalled for and completely unprofessional not sure if she is the owner or manager but she shouldn’t be working there she is awful and rude I front of paying customers !! I won’t return It’s a shame as food wasn’t bad but missing ! Sack the large lady out the front and your business will do better

Had a great meal as always from Fillets. Large chips that feed 2 with a chicken kebab each. Lots of chicken which is cooked perfectly and the chips were hot and really nice too. Not sure why so many bad ratings but then the majority only leave reviews when they want to leave a bad one and play the victim. Sure things don't always go to plan, that's life, suck it up. Well we enjoyed our meal and we be back again very soon.

AWFUL, TEREBLE, NO TASTE.... Fish taste of nothing, chips dry and hard.... On the positive side it reminded me of a wonderful holiday, Swimming in Grease....

I've had many issues with staff not fulfilling my order in the past and that has put me off using them which is a shame because the food is generally good. I have never felt the need to put in a negative review partly because the work force are predominantly kids and we were all once kids and had to learn right? This week I placed my order, paid for the food and waited for my change, the young lad totally forgot to give me my change and was very apologetic when I asked for it. when I returned home with my order it was not all there! I called Fillets and the lady on the phone advised me that I hadn't paid for one portion of the chips and that the order must have been taken down incorrectly. I asked that she have a chat with staff to be more careful when taking orders to which she responded, next time I should repeat the order twice to ensure that it was correct......... umm not quite the response I was expecting, for that reason alone I wont be returning to Filets again.

Tasteless, dry chips and an awful sausage. Very disappointed. Fillets has really gone downhill since I started using them.

Popped in for last minute meal. Haddock looked as though it had been sat in the 'warmer' for hours, tasteless and although I ordered a small, it was the skinniest fish I've ever had. Cheeseburger was also ordered and wish I hadn't. It was tasteless and rubbery. Oh well lesson learned.

I came to Fillets Sleaford today to grab dinner on the way from work. I’ve been using Fillets for years and have never had any complaints, until today! First thing that put me off was having to witness, I’m guessing the manager, discipline a staff member behind the counter in front of customers, I was unsure if my order had been fulfilled correctly as there was quite a few staff members behind the counter doing parts of everyone’s orders unfortunately this was confirmed when I arrived home and some of my order was missing. I also get prices are going up across the board but I didn’t realise that this also entailed cutting back on portion sizes. The large fish and chips, which my daughters normally share, was the size of the the old regular size, the regular fish and chips was more like a fish finger shape and for some reason came without the chips. Taste was still up to standard and we did all enjoy our food Im just unsure if it will be my regular haunt in future

Best chips often go with my partner and 30mile drive but my just love the taste and side they give u not botherd about fuel sooner enjoy my meal

we requested a large order yesterday to be deliveried today between 18:00 - 18:15, the group is starving doing 13 hour shifts for a covid site, its long days and and to say the least its risky. the company could not deliver our food on our lunch break at 18:00 we are all so hungry and very annoyed. We had to cancel our order because of incompetence levels in your work force. I wouldnt order from there. Dont offer delivery if you can not fulfil the order !!!!

Now used Fillets 3 times for delivery as we are self isolating each time order has arrived on time, always hot, good helping of chips and fish even when ordering a small portion, delivery is always socially distanced and always a cheerful “enjoy”

Why did I just pay ove £17 for these 2 crap little pieces of fish, a regular chips (that are soggy and mushy) that are the same size of a cone and a kids meal? My sons fish bites added up is bigger than this fish. A large battered sausage is bigger than this fish. A mini fish is bigger than this supposedly regular one. Not to mention the beans that came with the childrens meal were stewed and dry as anything. Looked like they'd been on the stove all day. I understand there is a lockdown and businesses are trying to save money but it takes the piss that you are basically stealing from us and serving sub par good. Will not be eating here again as this is the 2nd times you've given us supposedly regular fish and its been smaller than a mini fish. Waste of money 🤬

As we live at the opposite side of Sleaford to Fillets we have tried all the other chippies to avoid taking the car but always revert to Fillets. Chips are good and the fish is excellent. The batter is thin and crisp, just how it should be. They have even set up a delivery service booked on line so we even have our take away supper during the lockdown.

Under difficult covid circumstances they dealt with situation in an appropriate manner with a great attitude. Service always been top notch. Food good value.

We go to Fillets every Friday because it has the best fish and chips in Sleaford. Also does tasty scampi, sausages and pies. Always friendly, helpful staff and excellent hygiene standards. Thoroughly recommended.

Having just moved to the area I thought I’d give Fillets a try. I’m glad I did. The portion sizes are very generous and the fish is to die for. Will definitely be calling back

Bought a mixed kebab from here to takeaway and it didn't taste of anything it was really bland no taste at all, as for the salad, it was not fresh at all would not be rushing that

We decided to eat in and both have fish & chips. The service was fine , & waitress was friendly enough. Anyhow when the food came out to us I actually thought it was a jumbo battered sausage on my plate.What the owner had done was cut the fish in half down the middle fried each piece and served each piece back on to our plates! This is appalling ! All for the sake of maximising their profits. Will not be returning here. I do not expect to pay full price for a fish & be served up half of it. NO THANKS

We just fancied fish and chips, and having just moved down here, we had past "Fillets" a few times, so headed there, The batter was how we like it and everything was red hot. The service was 9/10, and the courtesy shown by Aaron, the manager was 10/10. We will defiantly go again

We were seated quickly and drinks ordered. Good food. Extremely attentive waitress don't know here name but she was from Bristol, Kingswood originally

I don't know what cheese they use but my cheese and chips was not at all like any other I have tasted. The cheese was gritty and most did not melt! Think I will go elsewhere in future.

We went in with friends for a take away and the restaurant was very quiet. Decided that it would be nice to sit in and enjoy our food before travelling back home. However upon sitting down to eat a member of staff came over and rudely kicked us out stating that we couldnt eat in the restaurant as we had bought takeaway... i could fully understand if this was a busy peak time however considering the fact that there was only one other couple eating in there at the time. You have left a very bad impression on some frequent customers. I would suggest you rethink the way you handle customers buying your food in future...

A very clean chip shop and very tasty. The kebabs are also top notch. Another place definitely worth a visit and as they also have seating you can take your time. Free parking outside.

Generally find Fillets to be good fish and chips. We always have take away as siting and eating in the restaurant can be very hit and miss if the counter is busy.

A busy night at the chippie, and the takeaway staff were pleasant and accommodating. The skinned halibut was a little overdone, so they gave us an extra piece. The cod and chips were just the way you look forward to, with large portions that go a long way feeding the family.

Eaten here before in the restaurant and always been very pleased. However decided to have a take-away this time. Couldn’t fathom why there were 6+ people queued in front of me until I realised later, they had ordered fresh and were waiting particularly for the fish. I ordered cod & chips and looked in the top trays and saw a couple of pieces of fish and saw when I ordered, one turned out to be mine! Well when at home the piece of fish turned out to be awful, it had a funny smell to it as though not fresh and the batter wasn’t particularly good either, although the chips were ok, I threw the fish away. It had obviously been under the warm lights on the tray for some time. Very disappointed!

The restaurant was clean and presentable. The meals ordered were cooked beautifully and the large cod fillets we both had were moist and meaty. The chips were also very nice being new potatoes. The only minor negative points were the mushy peas could have been thicker as they were quite runny and margarine was used on the bread whereas butter would have been much nicer. The staff particularly Anna was very helpful but all the staff were very polite and attentive. Would I eat here again? Most definitely! Would we recommend Fillets to our friends? Yes!

Pescado y patatas fritas preciosa pasaron a mejor que ordenados, sin cargo extra, debido a un cliente cambiando su mente.

Habíamos ido a la iglesia el sábado por la noche y realmente no le apetece cocinar, íbamos a tener una cena de pescado y entonces decidimos llevar a último momento para comer en el restaurante adjunto a la tienda. No comer pescado y patatas fritas muy a menudo y normalmente me arrepiento cuando lo hacemos. No ESTA VEZ! Honestamente puedo decir que este fue el mejor pescado y cena chip que he tenido en mucho tiempo. El pescado estaba muy bien preparado, las patatas fritas eran preciosas y el guisantes blandos eran simplemente cómo me gusta. Tomamos una copa de vino, que aunque sólo se sirve en botellas individuales era helada. El servicio era perfecto

Nos visita aquí en una base regular, y nunca he tenido una mala comida todavía. El pescado es siempre perfectamente cocinada. Tenga cuidado de cómo muchos chips que ya son abundantes. Hemos encontrado para una familia de cuatro dos grandes porciones es suficiente. El Kebab de pollo es delicioso.

Nunca terminaremos toda la comida. La comida siempre es estupenda. El personal es encantador. Mejor zona chippy en. Visitado por un largo tiempo ahora y siempre.

Always use this take away! We usually gave a mixed kebab special which comes with chips, two meats, salad and pitta bread. I can never finish mine so hubby does!

Suffered a broken tooth due to a chip being rock solid which was caused by it being mixed with the scraps or something to that effect. Taken the chip back to discuss way forward from the incident the most offered was a free meal and a refund for the chips purchased. The chip was not just hard it was like a rock, I can understand if it was a matter of me just breaking a tooth on a scrap that was slightly hard you take chances that a scrap may be a little hard however a chip should not be so a knife cannot even cut it. I am having to mess around and contact an injury lawyer for the broken tooth I thought maybe fillets would have offered a little something especially as we had the courtesy to try discuss to them beforehand rather than just rushing ahead and contacting injury lawyers and leaving negative reviews etc. However this is not the case.

Regular haunt for fish and chips. ..never had a bad meal here yet. ..the staff are brilliant too....I'd definitely advise anyone to come here.

Gone down hill latterly toilets are cold, drafty and untidy. service in the restaurant was as frosty as the toilets, girl didn't want to be there so in the end nor did we.Cant fault the food and generous portions.

Having just left Fillets, we feel compelled to share how long it had just taken to get our food!20 minutes for a takeaway that comprised of 1x pineapple fitter (ordered on arrival), 1x chips and cheese, 1 x regular chips and 1x pie (that they didn't have cooked so said they would microwave instead).There was only one table being serviced in the restaurant, one couple in front of us and yet we counted SIX members of staff working!!! Whilst we were waiting, two separate customers walked in behind us, one of which stood for ten minutes without even being acknowledged. All four sets of customers were all stood joking about how long it was taking but in all serious, it really shouldn't take 20 minutes to serve a fairly small and straight forward order!! Let's hope our order is right when we get home!Avoid, unless you've got all the time in the world!!

Food has always been really good and portion size and price is very reasonable. However, if your in a rush probably not the place to call in to grab a quick take-away. Service, whether they shop is busy or not can be painfully slow, which is a shame because the food is good.

Quality of service all depends on who is duty manager. If you see one of the two white-coated men doing the frying, you should be OK. If you can't see either of them out front, then give it a miss. I went in for a take away tonight (24/9/16) and asked for a piece of freshly fried haddock. I was told that the freshly fried pieces on display were reserved for restaurant users - which would suggest that if you use the restaurant, your fish should be fresh. The staff were insisting on giving me a piece of fossilised fish which looked as though it had been sitting on the hot-plate for at least a day and a half. After a protracted argument, they finally agreed to fry a fresh piece for me. (In fact, it was for my wife who has been ill and who cannot digest dried-up batter with the consistency of armour plating.) The fish and chips I eventually took home were very good, but it is such a pity that I had to start World War III to get them..

The orders are wrong 90% of the time, nobody in store knows what they're doing, the food storage isn't exactly hygienic. There are better takeaways to go to in Sleaford. Don't waste your money here.

I and many people want scoffers back.As this is the only chip shop within walking distance for a quick meal we have used Fillets more than a few times, each has had its own set of complications. Its either staff with poor attitude or poorly cooked food for what seems like premium prices. I don't like to batter the reputation of what looks like a very clean and professional fish and chip venue but I'm just never happy after my meal. All this said the guy that works their (Maybe the owner) is lovely and always very cheery! Apart from that if you are able to wait until Scoffers makes it return or failing that take a trip down to Sunnys!

Hubbie and I popped in for fish supper and were pleasantly surprised with lovely restaurant area and staff. It's a good size venue so although there is also the usual fish and chip takeaway traffic, this didn't impact on cafe area. We both had haddock n chips and were very happy with quantity and quality of meal. Would certainly call in for fish in future.

I don't even know where to start. Staff are fine, but the food is absolutely horrendous, I honestly wouldn't serve it to my dog. Ordered a jacket potato and it arrived a strange yellow green colour. Other food was Luke warm and not tasty at all. Will never return

I have been here before and the food was just as good. The small portions are very large, with lightly cooked but tasty chips. There are a variety of accompanying items that can be part of the meal. It is a small restaurant with take away attached. The restaurant food is cooked to order.

I do not leave comments that often but tonights appalling meal has driven me to. After spending £18 on 3 meals to takeaway Fish and chips we are so disappointed. You seriously have to worry when a chip shop cannot cook chips properly. I would say they needed at least another 5 minutes which just goes to show how under cooked they were. The fish was tasteless (both the cod and haddock) and the batter soggy. I do not often eat here myself but apparently my co eaters said that this is not the first time the meal has been poorly prepared and served. We paid good money for a very substandard meal and will certainly be looking for a better local chip shop from now on.

We called at Sleaford to have tea at SCOFFERS ,but on arrival found it was closed due to a fire.So we went next door to Fillets , We waited 10 minutes for service only to be shown to a dirty table and advised we will clean it in a few minutes. We ordered our food and waited and waited and when it arrived the Chips were cold the Fish overcooked and nobody was interested..To Sum it up LAZY STAFF, FOOD BADLY PRESENTED, WILL NEVER RETURN.

I have never had a bad meal or take-away from Fillets. The portion sizes are generous, the fish is white and fluffy, while the chips never taste of old oil and are always golden and hot.

Up until tonight this was in my mind the best chippy for miles.I love in Sleaford and have had many a take away or sit in meal, After tonight though ( 16th dec 1800hrs) i freally do not thinki will be back. I was so looking forward to mixed kebab and chips and curry sauce a favourite of mine. Firstly the place is no where near as clean as it was that includes the staff. The girl that served us hadn't a clue, It took 15 minutes to get a menu abd 35 minutes to get served.The restaurant wasn't that busy infact 2 people walked out they waited so long.Another couple arrived and sat at a dirty table.The girl handed them their menu eventually and seemed oblivious to the fact a bit of hygiene was required,The lady had to ask to have the table cleaned you would have thought she had asked for the crown jewels,To top it all i now have an upset tummy, I'm sure my review will not stop people form going to Fillets it will remain popular and i am sure my opinion will mean very little but its just a shame an excellent place to eat has gone down hill like this You should be ashamed !

Fillets is a great place to get your fish supper from. The fish is gorgeous and the portions are great. They also do jacket potatoes, if like me you're on a diet but still want to go out and eat with the rest of the family! The cafe/restaurant part is always clean and the service is good. All of the staff are very friendly. Good value for money and is one the best chip shops in town! I highly recommend it!

Never had a bad chippy take out from here. The fish is massive with lovely crispy batter and the chips are always fresh. We also like the kebabs from here and like that they don't smother them with raw onion. Although we have never sat in to eat the restaurant area looks lovely and inviting.

I have always found this to be a very genuine place to eat. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and owners who are eager to please. I have always experienced good quality food and customer service here. Very hygienic staff keeping the place spotless at all times. Everything is cooked fresh and the cabinets are NOT stacked full of fish etc that is drying out. I would always recommend this establishment for the best quality Fish and Chips!

Kebab meat dry and tasteless. Chips old. Cod was shaped like a big sausage and dry. Trouble is you cant see what they've dished up as box lids are closed before you can see contents. I wonder why? Cost £15. Too far to drive back otherwise I would have asked for refund. Will never use again or recommend.

We are regular visitors to Fillets and they always provide top notch Fish and Chips. We have never been disappointed with the food, and the fact that you may have to queue some time in order to get a takeaway surely must be a testament to how good and popular the food is.

First time visit here and very glad I decided to drop in. I ordered cod and chips, I had to wait a while but at least it was freshly cooked. All served in a nice box it was still lovely a hot when I got to the local Travelodge. Definitely go back next time I am in Sleaford.

I use Fillets fair bit. Always good and always great service. If I am local and fancy a feed of fish and chips this is where I head too. That says something because there is plenty of choice for fish and chips in town.They also do doner meals but never tried them.They seem to sell well though.

Architecture in a chippy? A real surprise! A really unusual fusion of an ultra modern takeaway with a clean spacious and well decorated restaurant.The quality,variety and presentation of the food was splendid and the service speedy and friendly. If you're travelling the A17 bypass the burger chains, drive 5 minutes towards Sleaford from the Holingham roundabout and look right... Easy car parking too...

By far the best in the Sleaford radius, have never been let down by this place. Friendly staff and the food is all serviced very fast for take out and if you would prefer you can sit in the restaurant area. Would recommend to give them a try.

Nice to have a chippy with a decent restaurant, which this is. I love the chicken wrap and chips were delish! They also offer jacket potatoes which is good for when you want something healthier!Always spotlessly clean in there with friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommend.

From the service to the food and the quality and amount it was all round excellent. The fillet of cod (10oz) was lovely and the batter light and crisp. The chips were good. Challenging when cooked with new potatoes. All nice and hot. The salad garnish was a lovely heap of fresh salad. One of us had the pensioners special and it was plenty big enough a portion. So great value all round. Definitely on my list for a return visit. Thanks to the two members of staff on at lunchtime for making it such a pleasant meal. Ok only downside is the rather boring restaurant decor. That's not exactly inviting and could be brightened up.

We've tried them all, this is our favourite in Sleaford. Always cooked fresh, and the place is always nice and clean and has a modern feel to it. The staff are friendly and the sit-in restuarant is very nice. If you're looking for a quick cheap meal while you're out and about and are near to the co-op end of Sleaford I'd recommend a trip to Fillets. We need a Fillets in Skegness!

Best chips in town, prices not too high. When I fancy pigging out I have kebab meat with chips and salad and its better then most of the actual kebab shops! Really yummy!

This is the best chip shop in the area. The chips are always crispy but soft inside and the fish is very fresh and batter is always light but not soggy. The staff are always friendly especially when you eat in - 2 lovely ladies saved the day for us when we were struggling with a friends baby who wouldn't stop crying, we tried everything, then one clever lady brought us some ice cream and that did the trick, she was teething! Just really friendly and good food, thanks.

Used on several occasions Fish and chips excellent chicken kebabs superb.very friendly service.Fillets is often very busy which speaks for itself but the food is well worth the wait.

Called for a takeaway lunch whilst visiting elderly father in law. OK we're from Grimsby so used to exceptional quality but even Sleafordian FinL said it was poor. Fish consisted mainly of dried up batter with very little flesh & the chips had seen better days. Maybe we caught them on the hop but on this showing, we'll not be returning. Sorry.

There is always a queue here - good sign! Fish chips and mushy peas can't be beat. Service pleasant. Better value to take away. Big portions on huge plates.
