Fifth Element in Southwark

Fantástico lugar con un gran ambiente y comida encantadora. El personal es muy bien informado y muy amable. ¡Me encantó!

Después de leer algunas críticas estábamos deseando este lugar para la cena pre teatro .. pero nos decepcionaron mucho .. en primer lugar, el lugar es pequeño y aunque tenía algunos toques decorativos agradables, se sentía más como un café que un restaurante ... el lugar era muy tranquilo cuando llegamos, pero el camarero / barman todavía trató de sentarnos en una mesa casi contigua a dos de las otras 3 personas allí .. elegimos una mesa diferente al lado de la barra donde encontré la vista de las botellas de dettol limpiador a mi lado menos que atractivo ... además, los asientos son estrechos con espaldas curvas que pueden ser un poco apretados en las caderas si no eres el más delgado de la gente .. nit muy cómodo ... Como él estaba sin nada que hacer le pedimos al único miembro del personal un menú y nos dirigió a un código QR .. cuando solicitamos una 'copia impresa' menú en su lugar, dijo que solo tenía uno y el otro cliente lo tenía ... de todos modos, finalmente hicimos nuestros pedidos . . (encontró el menú de bebidas un poco limitado, pero hizo un buen aperol spritz) ) Todos pedimos pan de ajo y un principal ... el pan de ajo fue probablemente el peor que he visto . . 3 pequeñas rebanadas de pan francés, completamente cocidas (quemadas en los bordes) secas y sin sabor... la pasta estaba un poco mejor pero para ser honesta, he tomado carbonaras mucho mejores (y más grandes)!!! Luego al recibir la factura notamos 12. Se había añadido un cargo por servicio del 5 % automáticamente sin ninguna de las notas «discrecionales» habituales... teniendo en cuenta lo abrumados que estábamos, nos preguntaron si podíamos reducir esto al 10 %, pero el camarero/barman no sabía cómo hacerlo y, como llegábamos tarde, lo pagamos... pero era furtivo, especialmente dado que cuando enviaron el recibo por correo electrónico no mencionaron este bit adicional como un cargo por servicio! En general, no fue una gran experiencia y ciertamente no volvería .. y la única razón por la que llegaron a ser tan altos como 3 estrellas fue porque el joven que nos atendió era muy educado y agradable y porque el baño era agradable (aunque unisex! ) ...

Mi hijo de 13 y yo compartimos un carbonato de pasta y una pizza pepperoni; ambos súper buenos. Pasta cocinada justo al dente, la salsa era cremosa y el tocino era ligeramente crujiente pero jugoso todavía; perfecto! La pizza estaba deliciosa; bien cocinada, con una cantidad equilibrada y generosa de cobertura y una gran hoja de albahaca para completar todo! Ambiente informal muy recomendable y funky!

Muy ordinario. Ingredientes insípidos de mala calidad y vino, menú limitado, probablemente bien si solo quieres una pizza. Música navideña fuerte en noviembre. Asientos de banco incómodos demasiado altos para la mesa. Bien intencionado personal joven.

I could not have been more pleased with our choice of restaurant before going to the Old Vic (very close by). Our group of 8 friends had a variety of ‘nibbles’ to share including bruschetta, garlic bread and olives. We then ordered pasta, chicken, kebabs, salads, chips, roast veg which all arrived together. It was hot , tasty and you could tell freshly cooked. What a pleasure to see a business serving cheerfully serving fresh food in a lovely setting . I just wish you were closer to where we live!!

Fuimos a cenar y realmente no solo comomos riquisimo, sino que terminamos hablando con el chico que nos atendio que hablaba español y hablamos muchisimo. La comida como dije exquisita y excelente la atencion! Muchas gracias

Horrible experience, clearly not wanted there. Despite being only two of four customers the waiter took forever to get our orders and promptly forgot them afterwards. He then proceeded to bring the orders 30 minutes apart despite being the same dishes with no apologies. Topped it off by not letting one of us use the toilet despite having been queuing for the toilet.. wanted to use it first; we thought it was because he wanted to clean it up for his customers but alas..there was pee all over the toilet seat and floor. Worst experience ever...not worth trip up the already jittery alley to the restaurant in the evening.. please don't bother.

We recently had our Christmas party here and it was brilliant. The food was delicious, the cocktails amazing and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be going back!

Friendly helpful staff, great food, relaxed atmosphere. Fries were amazing, rivaled the famous fries of Place Jourdan in Brussels but of the skinnier, skin on variety. Cocktails were amazing!

I had a terrible experience at this place a few days ago (I forgot to sent this) . After a long week and a very long trip back to London to meet my friends I arrived to this place and order a shandy… the waitress comes back with a tiny glass of wine and I asked what was that and she said Chardonnay… I explained that I’ve order a shandy and then 3 people of the staff are standing in front of me deciding if I can send that drink back and have a drink…. Then they decided I won’t have that as they don’t serve it. I asked if they sell beer, they say yes. I asked if they serve lemonade and they said yes so I order them both and the waiter asked me where do I come from and started to lecture me on how to order that as a “lemon beer” I certainly did not need that attitude and treatment. The food was less than average (being nice) But the attitude was way out of place… I have work in high end street restaurants with well known chefs and have been trained in go Food and drinks and I did not need this on a Friday evening. Cheers!

We had a lovely pre-theatre dinner at the Fifth Element. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service was attentive, friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our meals, cocktails and especially the delicious coconut baklava.

Fantastic spot in Waterloo. We visited on a Friday with our family and received top class service and fantastic food. Highlights included the freshly made pasta mains and chorizo starters. Hidden gem in the area; highly recommended.
