i have been shopping with you for many years, I popped in on Sunday morning and picked up a few things including a lasane - never bought before WOW we had it for tea last night and it is the nicest lasagne we have EVER tasted, will be back for more for sure. we normally buy lasagne from a well known store in Willerby ( begins with W) but not anymore.

Excellent high quality food as always and wonderful service can’t fault the place. The deli offers a wide range something suitable for all tastes (the maid of honour is worth a try for sure). And the butchers is located just next door so can conveniently grab your evenings delight :)

This is a little late I know but I was just going to put it down to experience. Collected a buffet from the deli on August 20th 22 at around 1:30pm First thing that happened was the staff member went into the rear to start fetching the food and placed it onto a wheelbarrow stand next to the counter. This then tipped up sliding 2 trays of sausage rolls, pork pies etc towards the floor. Luckily these were caught in mid flight which saved the day. Getting to the food We chose Fields on their reputation for quality and service. They are not the cheapest by a long way, but wanted something special for mother-in-laws 80th birthday party. The food was well below our expectations for example the sausage rolls and pork pies pastries were soft like they had been cut up since the day before and left in the fridge overnight. To be fair they tasted like yesterday’s left over buffet. The sandwiches were ok but again not what was expected from a business that boasts the reputation they do for quality and service. They went stale and dry within minutes of taking the covers off. Even our guests since the event have commented that they have tasted better. The tray bakes were all very similar and again tasted like yesterday’s left over buffet All in all we were underwhelmed by it and will not be using them again for future events.

Occasionally stop by when passing, very good choice of meat in the butchers which has always cooked well. However what does let Fields down massively is the staff.. I couldn’t narrow it down to one person as 9/10 the person serving is what can only be described as miserable and unapproachable! This is in both the butchers and the bakery part. Could really do with improvements on that front.

I have just absolutely never visited anywhere with Ruder staff in my life. It is horrific how rude and patronising these older ladies are . Considering the reasonable prices and tolerable food, it is saddening that such sour and mean women work here . I hope the owners come to realisation and re evaluate the poor quality of their older staff.

Ordered 2 bacon sandwiches but when we got back to the car which was about 30 seconds away the bacon was freezing. We never return them because the queue was pretty big so we just ate them. It’s was a Shame because the bacon seemed good quality. We return 2 weeks later to try the bacon again. We asked the assistant if she could heat the bacon up because last time we came the bacon was nice but very cold. She reassured us the bacon was hot so we took her with word it. Once again we got back to car and the bacon was cold. This time we decided to take it back. When we asked the same assistant if she could heat the bacon up because unfortunately it’s cold again she replayed with well the bacon was hot when you left the shop. We said we was 30 seconds away so there’s no way it could get cold that quick so could you please just heat it up please. She looked at me as if I’ve just asked her to butcher a pig and cook me some fresh bacon. She reluctantly put the bacon in the microwave then not even a thank you or we are sorry for your inconvenience. Unfortunately will never come here again.

We popped in for brunch on a busy Saturday morning. We both chose a sausage sandwich (£4.50) on warm ciabatta bread cake and hot drinks. The sandwich arrived promptly and was packed full of tasty butchers sausages (which one would expect from a butchers deli) and was absolutely delicious as always. The only niggle to our visit was that our hot drinks did not arrive until I had almost finished my sandwich (my husband had already finished eating his). I would have liked them together. However it was very busy and the waitress did apologise for the delay. We will definitely return.

First let me say I LOVE Fields Cafe, the food never disappoints but we ended up disappointed on this occasion because afternoon tea has been taken off the menu! Having enjoyed afternoon tea for 2 previously with my daughter, my husband & I called in to have afternoon tea after a day out but found that sadly it is no longer served! More disappointment was to come as we could not even order a cake to have with a cuppa as they had stopped serving food at 3:45pm. This seemed a bit odd as the opening hours on the door state that they are open until 5pm. Please bring back afternoon tea Brian. We will return another time but will have to visit earlier in the day.

This is the second time I have been to Fields for a meal, and sadly the second time I've been disappointed. Nothing wrong with the food itself, just the staff. My friend and I went along about 1.30 Sunday afternoon, and although there were plenty of staff there, no one seemed bothered to greet us or serve us. They genuinely looked as though they'd all rather be somewhere else. Preoccupied with other things, not us - the only 2 visitors who needed to be served at that time. Not helpful in helping us make a decision about what we could eat, eg. No suggestion at looking at specials board or recommending something. And typically the things we chose were sold out. Food was nice though when it came, but a huge disappointment with the pot of tea for 1. It literally was only the size of a teacup, they might have just as well poured it straight into the cup and ditched the pot. As we were upstairs I wasn't fussed on going all the way down to get it topped up. Sorry, doubt I'll be going back, although might still get take away. The staff are the problem..... Cheer up and smile!

When first walking into the deli the counter looks amazing, and very tempting which led me to think the food in the cafe would be something a little better than it actually was. I ordered scrambled eggs, but had to specify I wanted a ciabatta, as listed on the menu, when asked to choose brown or white toast. No problem. However, the food itself just didn't look very appetising when it arrived, it was just warm, and basic. I can't say it was terrible, but average, a little expensive for what it was to be honest. The service also wasn't particularly warm or friendly, which the presentation of the building seems to suggest it would be. I wouldn't go back in which is a shame as the deli itself looked fab.

Never been in here before, although lived round this area for ten years! Don’t often get the chance to see my pals as have moved now, however we got together here a couple of months back. Lovely little cafe, has an upstairs section, where we were, 6 of us met for breakfast. Ordered eggs Benedictine’s with bacon for breakfast, delicious! Came on a slate plate, beautifully presented. Lovely tea with brekkie too, nice to have a choice to have it with breakfast or before. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Very clean and well presented cafe. Reasonably priced too. Available takeout too. Air conditioning could be better on a hot day, was under the fan and it gave a blast now and again then died!

Tend to use the pie van, rather than the shop, as I am lazy! However, the prices from the van and quite a lot more than in store (why, I do not know). £2 for a scotch egg is a little high (when Bothams, Whitby, sell better for less), however, they are nice, so I don't begrudge it TOO much. Friendly staff and always nice food. Shame they sting you for more when it is not (VAT crap). Buy cold and microwave at work !!

So I asked how it worked and was told they will take my order where I was originally stood. I wanted a meat pie and a sausage roll. They refused to serve a meat pie on its own without it being a meal. But if I was to order it to take out that’s okay??? Sounds like they are just after more money.

We had two visits to this great deli/café in a week as my husband was receiving treatment at the nearby Spire Hospital. The food is fresh, delicious and local with some great Yorkshire sausages and pies made with local meat from their own butchery, 2 doors away. Really good cakes, slices and sweet treats. A large menu of breakfasts, snacks, light meals and full lunches was hard to choose from. We variously had goats cheese quiche, a great plowmans, king-size fish finger sandwich and a delicios pie with homemade wedges. All delicious and served with salads/coleslaw. They do take-away and good teas/coffee. It's licensed too.

My daughter and I called in for lunch one Saturday and had great difficulty choosing from the extensive menu! I have been for breakfast a couple of times before (fantastic butcher’s sausages) but not lunch. In the end we decided to opt for the afternoon tea for 2 so that we would have a mixture of savoury and sweet with our pots of tea! We had a choice of teas and in a perfect tea pot that did not drip! Our afternoon tea was all well presented on a cake stand and absolutely delicious. There were 3 of each finger sandwiches (ham & mustard, chicken/mayo & lettuce and cheese & pickle). There was a scone with pot of jam each with a generous pot cream to share. There was a date slice, rocky road slice and millionaire’s shortbread each too. In fact there was so much we couldn’t eat it all and had to ask for a doggy bag! The waitress wasn’t fazed by our request so we obviously weren’t the first to ask for one.

We had 2 wonderful pies around 3 weeks ago (they were full of chunks of meat) and decided to travel to Anlaby for another 2. What a disappointment. My pie was very tasty but as far as I am aware, I didn't order a gravy pie. There were not even a few strands of meat within the pie, just gravy, albeit very tasty gravy. I have read some of the reviews on here and I can certainly concur with the posters about the lack of meat. We will certainly give Fields another try, I do hope that on our next visit we manage to secure a couple of pies that contain meat and not just (very tasty) gravy.

Having previously complained about a hair found inside a vanilla slice and our details being taken and promised a call back as " Brian takes these matters seriously " and never hearing another word we vowed not to visit again on the basis that you should judge a business on how they deal with complaints and not just when things go right. However we found ourselves in Anlaby on Saturday lunch and I persuaded my wife to stop for lunch. We ordered a Light breakfast and Eggs Benedict plus coffees at 1253(time on receipt), within 5 minutes the coffees arrived. At 1330 our food arrived, both eggs on the Eggs Benedict were hard and dry. My breakfast was actually nice. Complained to waitress who offered to replace my wifes meal but didn't want to wait another 35 minutes so she asked for a refund which left me to eat alone. Funnily enough Brian Field came in after us to eat and waited no more than 20 minutes for his food, which included Eggs Benedict. Other nearby tables also complained of the very long wait. Not sure we'll give them a third chance.

Tucked away along a parade of shops is at first glace a deli, but take another look and you see that this is also a cafe, that serves a fine breakfast of choice. Being a Sunday morning we both went for the English breakfast. I reasoned that an award winning butcher wouldn't risk it with inferior sausages and bacon, and so it proved, with a nicely presented breakfast arriving with the black pudding especially being a revolation.

I had been before so knew to order our breakfast sandwiches and pots of tea at the counter. We were both very impressed by the non-drip teapots! It was so nice not to have a puddle of tea on the table. My knife was dirty so I had to request another but it was no problem. The total bill was £12.70 for 2 teas, 1 sausage sandwich (on ciabatta) and 1 fried egg sandwich (on floury bap). I was a little surprised that the egg sandwich (2 fried eggs) cost more than the sausage (4 gorgeous tasty butcher’s sausages) sandwich but never mind! Both were really tasty and worth the price for good quality.

This is a serious health risk and I know this practice will be denied by The Managment but they deserve this review for allowing such a disgusting practice to continue.

Good food at reasonable prices. Comfortable seating and table layout.Pleasant service/ very helpful staff. The bell to request service from downstairs apparently had not been working for some time although we didn't have to wait long. You would expect this to be fixed promptly.Limited choice of non-meat dishes, it is essentially a butcher/deli outfit though.Piped music not that great.Glassware was certainly clean but well worn and the cutlery dulled by dishwasher powder residues although clean.

Excellent food friendly staff, maybe too many tables as we are a quit large couple and found it difficult to be at ease. Cakes to die for I always purchase some too take home Toffee cream slices excellent value. Also a must is the butchers next door lots of new ideas for meals different to the norm.

I left a well-deserved five star review upon my first visit to Field's Cafe last year, but was very disappointed after visiting with a friend for an early morning Sunday breakfast.Upon arriving, the floor hadn't been swept upstairs but the staff were so polite I decided to not mention anything.I opted for Eggs Benedict for my breakfast and my companion had a tea-cake. What arrived however was poached eggs on toast. After notifying the waitress of her mistake, she swiftly brought me my correct order and knocked the cost of our drinks off the bill. This is great service, but the food that was presented to me was a little underwhelming. The poached eggs were hard in the middle and the whole plate was lukewarm - like it had been stood for a little too long.I didn't raise this at the time as the staff dealt with it in a responsive and well-mannered way.As a side note, the milk jugs and tea cups were stained and not pleasant to drink out of or use, I'd suggest replacing these as soon as possible.Has this stopped me from returning? Definitely not. The service was exceptional, but the food really let the place down this time around.

I love the breakfasts here. The meat is, as you would expect, of top quality. Beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are always really nice too. Great coffee. I usually buy a massive cake on the way out as well. Happy days at Fields Deli

For me, a trip to Field's cafe is pure indulgence. It's a special treat, only I keep treating myself all the time! The selection of cakes that greet you at eye level when you walk in is out of this world, and I am working my way through all of them bit by bit. No good for the waist line, but hey, you only live once. The butchers is absolutely top notch, what a wonderful choice of prepared cuts, marinaded fillets, skewered thingymebobs with delightful pieces of all sorts, stir fry mixes etc and the pies are to die for. The family steak pie is stuffed to the rafters with steak, and it is gorgeous. I have left my favourite till last. I bet there's not even a bakery in the whole of Greater Manchester that can bake an Eccles Cake like Field's. I hope I am not going to live to regret mentioning this, because I would be in tears if they have sold out next time I go. I hope I haven't instigated an Eccles rush but I felt I had to mention them. So all round, my opinion is that it is a jolly good place where you get food of an excellent quality, served by pleasant and helpful staff.

Today I visited fields after purchasing some mince and chops from the butchers witch were no better than other local suppliers me and my husband decided to visit the cafe WELL after squeezing into a tiny corner we made our order the staff were as though they were on day release and forced to be there no please or thask yous whilst the snack we had was almost enjoyable (due to cramped space) I found it overpriced maybe reputation isn't every thing there are other optionside nearby

Recommended by work colleague so travelled over to this cafe / restaurant in Anlaby. Great breakfast cannot fault it. Friens tried other items off menu which they enjoyed too. Clean place with friednly staff plenty of room even an outside area. Best bit though is the butchers owned by same company as you can buy everything on menu. Also an outstanding selection of BBQ meats, various pies sweet or savoury and a massive custard slice which is the biggest i have ever seen. So if your in the area its a must stop although expensive worth the trip.

We went in for tea & cake and at the counter we were told to take a seat and our order would be taken, we said that we would be going into the Secret Garden and she said that was ok they would come to us. Nobody did come to us so we went in to order. No complaints about the staff though. Our 2 issues were the outside area was in need of cleaning, the tables all had a grubby look about them and the floor had 18 pieces of rubbish on it, nearly all was empty sauce sachets. The other issue was that the size of the pieces of cake has gone down dramatically, last time we were there a couple of months ago the cake portion was huge, this time they were very small. Small but delicious.

I'm a regular at Fields; both in the butchers and the deli/cafe. Friendly welcome, as always. Ordered a Light Breakfast - homemade sausage, home cured bacon, baked beans, eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato and brown toast. So nice! Delicious bread, and everything else is good and tasty. You can tell the the food is top quality and it makes such a difference. Priced at £4.50, it's worth every penny.I also had a flat white with a double shot; perfect! The server was lovely; very friendly & we were singing along to an 80s soundtrack - Five Star and Rock Astley. Brilliant start to the day.

A quickie work, birthday lunch and we had a table for 4 on the roof terrace, that became a sun trap. As 3 of us are trying to eating healthily, I was slightly disappointed with the apparent lack of salads. However, we thought we had just about got around it.I ordered the quiche lorraine salad without wedges. The quiche was plentiful and nice but I was expecting it to be warm. My friend ordered the feta salad starter & asked that it be a main course & without onion, she received a small bowl of salad - no onion but no feta either. As we were on a tight time schedule & she can't bear a fuss, she insisted that we didn't say anything. Clearly it was a misunderstanding as we ordered, but the order wasn't checked back at the time or as it was delivered. The other 2 were happy with their tuna jacket potato and smoky meat quiche with wedges & side salad (again he thought it would be warm or that we should have been asked if we wanted it warm).

We ate upstairs, which is a nice little space (although it was very warm indeed). Steak sandwiches were delicious and perfectly cooked. The coffee was also very good. The staff were excellent and very smart in their uniforms. And they were very pleasant and smiley☺ We will be back. Thank you.

I've had most of the menu here, paninis, sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiches, cakes, buns, pies you name it! Personal favourite however has to be the roast pork or beef sandwich in the softest bun, with a jug of gravy and the option for a side of roast potatoes! So proud to call this place my local deli!

Myself, sister and both our children who are two visited today. As anyone who are parents will know a hungry toddler does not like waiting for their food to be made and served (which may I add was a long time) we gave them something to tide them over and did order food for us and a snack for them too. A member of staff came over, stood over the boys and told us we were not to give them our own food. In over two years of dining out no one has ever said this or made us feel so uncomfortable!

We have been to Fields Deli and Cafe a few times now on a weekend and very time we have been it has never been overly busy and the service has always been mediocre. The staff always take so long to prepare a couple of sandwiches which isn't ideal as if it is a hot one it gets cold and they are never seem to be happy! I know it's not the best working weekends but the least they can do is put a smile on their faces. For the sandwiches they are average just with the more upper market edge to them.

We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon out of season because the previous review said they allowed the dog to go inside. I asked if we could take the pup in and sit out of the way in the corner. The lady said no sorry I don’t allow dogs in at all.

We had lunch at The Potting Shed with family. This was a return visit, and we think it’s the best garden centre restaurant in the area. Soup was carrot and coriander (delicious, could’ve eaten more!), sandwiches were very fresh, and the haddock and chips were delicious. Restaurant is very clean and well laid out, tables not too close together. I’m sure we’ll be back!

This cafe is now called Miss Bs pantry. Very friendly ladies and delicious food. As a coeliac myself I have to have gluten free. This is very well catered for here so my partner and I have visited on numerous occasions.Various selection of savoury dishes and cakes. Lovely latte too. Well worth a visit.
