Fieldfare in Chorley

Plenty of space inside, car park busy. Food good and waiter, Dylan Andrew, seemed to be doing everything including running the bar. He was very friendly and efficient. Meal took 45 minutes to arrive which we assume was due to staff shortage as it seemed Dylan had to help in the kitchen as well.

Really good service from the young lad who was on duty and the other gentleman who brought our food

Came here today and just wanted to share my amazing experience I had here, the service I received from a lovely chap named Andrew was 5☆ such a lovely man, so helpful and really took care of us while dining, he's a credit to the team, we had burgers they were really tasty and great value, will be coming in more now after that experience, keep up the good work Andrew

we went as a family of four , for our 56th anniversary, we are regulars at the fieldfare , we ordered our meal and drinks , the waiter spilt my daughters drink didn't offer to clean it up so we just laughed and cleaned it up our selves, when starters came the garlic mushrooms where burnt, (we didn.t say anything) when our mains came two of us had sirlion steaks we sked for well done they came still red in the middle ,i tried to eat mine but it was like chewing rubber so i had to spit it out , my husband called the waiter over to complain , he removed them another member of staff came over and apoligised said they would cook us another steak , the steaks came was very fatty cooked better but we couldnt finish them. so no more visiting fieldfare

Our book group called here to ask if we could meet at short notice, having found our usual venue closed. We were welcomed, accommodated and served with our various coffee choices. We've arranged to come back for future meetings. Thanks to Dylan, Paul and other staff for their friendly welcome!

Good food which was nicely presented. Staff really friendly and helpful. Would go here again.

Took my mum for lunch. We had the light lunch gammon followed by puddings. Food was delicious, excellent service, didn't have to wait long for food. We will be back again.

14 of us turned up unannounced for a birthday tea. Not only were the staff more than happy to accommodate us, but they were absolutely wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. And the food! Absolutely amazing, 10/10. Thank you to everyone, but especially to Chrissy and Aaron. You guys are ace and the wonderful gent on the bar is too!

One of the meals was over cooked and very dry, no vegetables either, another meal had very little turkey and we had to ask for more, another meal was forgotten and came much later

I visited the fieldfare today and it was very disappointing I am a type two insulin diabetic and I had to wait 45 minutes for my meal .

Nice & cosy, staff really friendly & polite. Food great, had soup of the day for starters Tomato delicious, then decided to go for the light meal option of fish finger sandwich, which I really enjoyed. There was a nice family area for smaller children this is a lovelly clean pub, This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. I would recommend anyone to pay a visit,

We love coming to the Fieldfare, the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Food hot and delicious, and there is plenty to choose from on the menu.

Really didn't enjoy, the lad serving didn't ask us if we wanted ice in drinks, I ordered gammon which was really fatty and lukewarm also a portion of onion rings which was stuck on top of stick of my sons burger. Didn't ask if we wanted chips or fries and my son got fries and wanted chips, felt like I wasted my£40 treat, it's really sad because we use to go alot, the lady thats been there for years is really friendly and helpful, can't believe this experience so bad that I didn't even get asked about the obvious? if you want ice and hate lukewarm food

Food was ok, sticky toffee pudding was a bit naff but my son still ate it. Staff friendly enough, can’t complain about anything really. Maybe more vegan options would be nice as I have a dairy allergy so not much I can choose from but overall happy with what we got.

Really disappointed, been going alot and been good, tonight was awful. The lad didn't ask about ice in drinks. Got my main course of gammon was lukewarm and alot of fat on it, I ordered a potion of onion rings and they stuck them on top of stick of my sons burger order, didn't ask if we wanted chips or fries and my son wanted chips and got fries which were cold really felt I wasted my £40 treat for us and put me off going back which is sad but annoyed I wasted my money as well

Great place for a pint with the lads, also does decent food. Would defo recommend.

Not been for a few years .Decided to go on valentines night .Friendly welcome and very clean. Did not know it was dog friendly may bring ozzie sometime .Food piping hot and ample,service very quick .Will definitely visit again well done all staff(bar and chefs).

On entering the pub it clean and warm with friendly staff members Dylan and gerri who made you feel comfortable and welcomed at the bar. We took our seat ,looked through the menu and returned to the bar to order. I was again greeted by Dylan who took our order and payment and was extremely polite and approachable, who also ensured that I received my order with no cucumber. Our meals arrived within good time and the food was hot and tasty, with the plates cleared quickly on finishing. Dessert and coffee then arrived shortly afterwards and was also asked by the staff if everything was to our liking. All in all, very good food and service with professional staff and have no hesitation in returning again, thank you.

What a pleasant surprise we got here. A large comfortable pub with friendly helpful staff in a lovely setting. The food was very good quality served reasonably quickly and at reasonable prices. We will be back. Ok, we have been back and again were not disappointed. The spicy pulled pork was superb. Not too spicy, but delicious. Back for a third time and as usual, excellent food and service.

Went for my mum’s birthday meal and everything was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed there meal. Definitely come here again.

We have now visited three times over a period of some months and each time the food and staff have been of top quality. The Sunday Roast was excellent and reasonably priced. There is plenty of room in this delightful pub as it is quite large.

What wonderful staff. Gerri and Paul were absolutely lovely. Helpful and polite. The coffee was excellent and so were the chips which I ordered and ate with my friend. We both thoroughly enjoyed it there and will be going again

Dog friendly pub near Astley Park ….. standard pub chain food for a fair price. Lovely decor inside, nice and relaxing and the staff were great.

Food was good but obviously from frozen menu like most tied pubs.....just good reheated food.....

Promptly and pleasantly greeted at the door and shown to table. drinks order taken (we were first of 10 to arrive) and drinks tab set up with no issues, Great start! rest of guests arrived and attentive Dylan introduced himself and patiently took the drinks order. Christmas lunch was both delicious and HOT and Dylan continued to take further drinks orders unprompted and efficiently. Clearly a highly motivated young man, capable of working under duress. Thank you for a very enjoyable Christmas lunch!

Had many meals here over the years and been at Christmasyear2023 was a big let down the main course was poorly served no taste turkey dry 40 mun to be served not good Christmas pudding I would not gave to a dog for the money very very poor will never come again at any time of the year but Christmas noway

Amazing service from Chrissy and Gerri. They went above and beyond for me and my family, especially with the little one. Food was yummy with a lot of good options, especially on the festive menu. 10/10 would come again.

Had been to a pub before this in an attempt for lunch so by the time we arrived we were all very hungry and moody, staff were very attentive, children's meals are slightly on the expensive side for what i imagine to be frozen microwaved food, however the children enjoyed it so who i am to judge. We had hunters chicken & scampi which you can't complain about for under £30 for the entire bill

Superb meal at a very fair price and the staff were very helpful. There were a few hiccups (otherwise it was an excellent experience) but these were related to the till. Like so many things that "think" they have a brain but don't, it caused the staff problems.

The roasts we had were lovely and good value, the friendly barman took our order and brought the food to us, he's all smiles and made our visit very welcome and pleasant.

We travelled up from Nottingham to see my husband's parents and thought we'd treat them to a meal at the Field Fayre. The pub was quite deserted for a Saturday afternoon close to Christmas. Where do I begin.... I ordered lasagna with garlic bread, they then came across to the table to say they had no garlic bread, the lasagna just tasted like plain minced beef with soggy pasta sheets, no Italian herb flavours and microwaved to within an inch of its life. My husband and mother-in-law had gammon, the fat on the gammon hadn't even been browned so they had to just cut it off. Pubs like this usually pile your plate high with chips to make it look like a large meal but I think chips were on ration at this pub, more like a young child's portion. A disappointing almost egg cup sized portion of pepper sauce. We order desserts and they then came over to the table to say they didn't have the sticky pudding that we'd ordered so we ordered chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. They then came to the table and said they only had two portions of that. We then ordered Irish coffees and they didn't have any cream for that so the coffees were served in a cup with squirty cream on the top with separate glass of whiskey. A thoroughly disappointing visit. The pub locked like it was about to close down for good and they were just using the stock up. Maybe closing down wouldn't be a bad idea.

Very good service and friendly staff fantastic food

We stopped in for some food as we haven’t been in many years. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service! The deal was great for a curry on a Wednesday, excellent value for money. All of the staff were very helpful and kind and overall a really lovely experience. Will definitely be coming again!

I enjoy coming down to the fieldfare as the staff are friendly, the managers are great. The food is good, the menu has a good variety to choose from. Never had an issue with any of my food and if I don't want something on my meal, the staff always accommodate it for me.

Dropped in on way back from walk and the bar staff very welcoming and even after serving Paul came over to ask if everything was ok and ended up buying another drink which he brought over to me great service friendly and will be back with family and dog

Loved it here. This pub is great and has a nice big car park that's free too. The food is great and we enjoyed every bite. I had a big group of 16 and everyone was very happy. There was lots for the children to do, some computer games to play with learning games on and colouring in also toys to play with. The toilets were clean. The pub was clean, warm, and spacious. The staff were very friendly, kind and welcoming. I would definitely come again when I'm next visiting. We celebrated my mums birthday, and Paul Cassell went to extra trouble to make it special. He went the extra mile the whole evening making sure we were happy, where we were seated, that we liked the food, asked if we needed anything more, making sure my Mams dessert had a candle in it and brought out at the right time. Paul was just so attentive, and I think that makes a big difference. He also had a lovely chat with us when ordering our food and made us laugh. Great service given. Perfect evening!

Came for a catch up with friends, we both had lattes, with the weather getting colder the staff were lovely, welcomed us when we came in and make sure we was ok during our visit would recommend this pub and will be visiting again

first and last time we will visit here. went on sunday for a carvery - which they advertise - to find the carvery wasn’t even on with no explanation. decided to stay anyway but wish we hadn’t. the portion sizes are small considering the money they charge. the mash had a layer of hard skin on top like it had been sat for ages and heated up. the food is very basic and didn’t come out hot. no atmosphere in the place and the speakers don’t work so you sit listening to music with a horrendous crackling noise over it.

The experience as always was fantastic the bar staff are fast and attentive the quiz was fun the drinks were very good and the servers were kind and food was delicious- overall amazing experience as always

If I'm honest, we use to love coming to the Fieldfare. The last time we came was in June everything was available then. Yesterday it was like a limited menu with nothing that really screamed out at us. We scan the QR code and ordered at the bar off the online menu. When the food came it looked appealing but as we ate more and more it wasn't that great. There was a big party that came in to celebrate a 30th, who was very noisy and didn't care about who was around and keeping the noise level down. My daughter struggles with loud atmospheres and felt the only place she could escape from it was in the toilets. We couldn't get out of The fieldfare quick enough. When I went to pay I did mention but the manager didn't seen that bothered and just said sorry about that.

Zodie welcomed us as soon as we walked in, she was really pleasant to talk to. The service was great all around, and chef Darren cooked us some really nice food, that was hot and tasty. The chef even started cooking earlier than usual as we arrived before food was serving, which we really appreciated. Thank you Zodie and Darren!

Had the best time celebrating my daughters 18th birthday. Considering there were 7 of us, the bill was really reasonable 😊. One of our party was a vegan and was really pleased to be able to pick from the menu and have more than one option to choose from. All the staff, Chrissy, Dylan, Harry, Arron and Andrew were amazing and made it a special night for us all. Andrew took advantage of a birthday and having a microphone to encourage the whole pub to sing happy birthday as well 🤣 Bonus of the night, coming second in the quiz so will have to go back to spend the bar tab we won 😊🍻🍷 Thank you 🙏

"Standard pub grub with nice decor" was my review four years ago. On my last visit the menu was very dull and the two mains we wanted weren't a available. The decor has not changed but now looks shabby in places. Arcade games have been installed ruining the atmosphere. The food took way to long to arrive, there is no table service and the table had things stuck to it that had clearly been there sometime. The food looked poorly presented but tasted good after the long wait. Oven chips. The beer was warm. I don't think we will ever go back here which is a shame as it close to our house.

This place has gone downhill severely, use to come here quite frequently and it’s was brilliant but I haven’t been for some time and we received some 30% off vouchers in the post (no wonder why) so we gave it a try first the starter came out wrong and didn’t listen to our dietary requests and then my main meal came out as a hunters chicken instead of fish and chips! When my fish finally arrived after another wait it wasn’t the best the batter was so thin and had no taste at all! Such a shame as this used to be a really good restaurant/pub

Went to the fieldfare today unfortunately the food wasn’t great ordered their loaded fries unfortunately they didn’t have the pulled pork but this wasn’t the issue the issue were that whole dish was cold I also had the hunters chicken the chicken was nice but the chips again where cold and stuck together will not be returning

Great food fast service friendly staff

Popped to Chorley for work trip, popped in for lunch. Welcomed and Served by the lovely Zodie and Cary’s. The bar was very quiet but still felt warm and genuinely friendly. Lovely super quick lunch prepared by the lovely Ryan. Thank you all, I certainly would come back again.

Chrissy served us for my birthday today and was funny and attentive, great service. The food was also very lovely :) would come again!

Took my son for his 16th birthday we were allowed to take our own balloons and cake when we arrived to drop the balloons off they had put birthday banners up for him out of the kindness of their hearts. We arrived with him and the rest of the family to be greeted with the nicest possible faces the food was great the service was great all in all a really good night thankyou for making his day a little more special chrissy and gem you were amazing

I booked a table for Sunday roast. I thought there might have been a carvery but instead I had to order a single meat plated meal. The pub was not busy at the time but I still had to wait quite a while for my meal. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The 2 slices of turkey were dry and browned. The mashed potatoes although tasty were cold. A steak knife would have been more suitable to cut through the roast potatoes which were tough and chewy and the one portion of broccoli was mushy and cold. And why on earth was there no Yorkshire Pudding with a Sunday roast? As an ex chef I can tell when food has been kept warm, this meal appears to have been plated up then left under a heat lamp for a while. At no time did any member of staff come over and ask if everything was ok .A totally unsatisfactory meal and service.
