My family and I decided to go for a meal for my daughters partners birthday. We had forgot to book but it wasn’t an issue. We found a table easy and selected our food. The manager came over to say there was a wait for the food and we were fine with that as it was very busy. (We didn’t wait as long as expected though). All of our food was exceptional. I had the home made Chicken Kyiv pizza absolutely delicious. The rest had the Greek Gyros all with different requests (2 with tzatziki on the side and hand cooked chips instead of fries and one without tomato) the birthday boy had the chicken Parmo hunter style. My grandson had a burger and it was demolished as he said it was yummy. 6 adults and 1 child for a fantastic price of £65. This was due to the Gyros being on special offer for a Thursday. Fabulous food and lovely drinks. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back very soon.

Sadly this place is not as good as it used to be. Having been here a couple of weeks ago I ordered Steak and Kidney Pudding and was served basically a steak and kidney pie as it had a puff pastry lid on a pie dish of steak and kidney. At the time I put it down to my daughter giving the wrong order. So I decided to go back yesterday 15th October and this time I ordered a leek, mushroom and Stilton pudding only to receive the same dish with a puff pastry lid, if I order a pudding I expect a suet pastry encased pudding not an open pie. As for the stilton I could not taste it as it just seemed a cheese sauce. One person had chilli and left most of it and the same with the spaghetti bolognese. This was finished off with a "Fresh" Strawberry Eton Mess which was clearly frozen strawberries.Very disappointed and wint be going back

Went to this pub with friend and her son. The floor was covered in food. the tables were dirty and sticky, and the carvery was unattended with a customer standing nearby coughing. The play area should have an age limit as there was an older boy climbing along the window ledge and was clearly too big for the play equipment.

I often visit here, the food is incredible and its great value for money, you get the £7.99 or the £9.99 three course menu options to go along side there main menu options which offers varied amount of starters, mains and desserts to choose from and they often change there menus so you keep getting new things to try. Its mostly home cooked too which is rare to find nowadays. My girlfriend loves the crab cakes with hot dip and i must say there favourite of mine too. The portion sizes are very generous,i got a brunch style breakfast one time and i could barely finish it,but if you get full towards the end you can take it home with you, which we once had to do with dessert .

Tried Sunday lunch. Was a good helping of food, even for someone (like me) who likes a big plateful. Meat was well cooked and clearly came from a carved animal, not a packet. Lots and lots of vegetables, which helps. The meal was not a Michelan meal by any stretch but there was lots of it and it was well priced and we'd eat it again. The pub itself is a traditional Gateshead pub with a good kids play area attached. By comparison to the Sutherlands up the road, this place was an oasis. Recommended.

I went in a group of 7 for lunch and I was amazed at the extent of the £7.95 3 course menu. I can honestly say I have eaten in restaurants where the starter they served me would have cost that and I wouldnt have complained. I chose the Scotish egg as a starter , Egg wrapped in haggis and black pudding with a special mustard dressing, it was delicious. There was more traditional starters for those in the party not so adventurist, soup, chicken goujons etc. The mains were well presented and the home made chips lovely. The carvery choices inc. roast, lamb chops or mince and dumplings with help yourself yorkshires and nicely cooked Veg. The desserts were splendid but alas I had no room, the staff happily cartoned my Lemon meringue pie for me to take it away. My mums traditional trifle (served in a Latte Glass) looked lovely and a hot pudding was devoured by one of our party fully. Cheesecake looked lovely, too may puddings to describe!

My wife and I visited the fiddlers some time ago, last weekend we went back with three of our granddaughters, our great granddaughter and our only grandson for a Sunday Carvery. We were pleased to find that the good impression we had on our first visit was maintained on our second. We were quickly shown to the table I had deserved, you order your food and drink at the bar and given a voucher for your meals, the food was well cooked and extremely tasty, so good in fact that the kids cleared their plates and then asked for desserts of chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. My grandson, who is normally quite a fussy eater enjoyed his meal so much that he wanted to know if we could go back often. The prices of the meals and drinks were very reasonable and this has now become our favourite eatery.

I've been to Fiddlers Three on many occasions over the years and whilst the current Management are not the worst, they are some way short of being the best Management the pub has been under.Standards are beginning to slip; when the new Management arrived, it was a huge improvement on the very poor previous owners, but over the past year it simply has started to slide.Take the ever popular Carvery. Roasts now seem to be offered mainly on Sundays and on Saturday and mid week it's generally mince and dumplings and or minted lamb chops or chicken in gravy. Why is this? It's the same price as Sunday. The vegetables have 'texture' - they are cooked to the bare minimum so if you like veg with a real bite, you'll be in heaven. The service for the meat is sloppy, with gravy/mince trails left on the edges of plates, so make sure you have napkins to hand.Despite this, it's quite tasty. But I can get tastier for a similar price elsewhere down Low Fell or near Saltwell Park. Desserts have been a disaster though and I dispute the assertion that these are 'homemade' as Staff had no idea what nuts were in Hubby's carrot cake and my fruit crumble had no crumble other than a few dots here and there and the 'fruit' was pie filling from a tin. I know it's pie filling from a tin as I've used the same filling myself! Where is the economy in buying pie filling for a fruit crumble when cooking apples are incredibly cheap - as is the sugar and water required to make a 'proper' fruit crumble?I'm not really sure that anything is actually 'made' from scratch in the kitchen at Fiddlers Three. I think the term 'homemade' refers to a home somewhere else in the Country, but not the one behind the bar.The interior is starting to look very shabby now and the upholstered wall benches have badly faded and are threadbare in places. They creak and move terribly. The carpet and curtains tell a similar tale and are in badly need of replacing. The once dried flowers and object d'art on the rafters look very sad indeed and hark back to a past when things were good at Fiddlers Three. Those days are long gone.

Myself and my 8yr old son had a fantastic meal here last night. The staff are friendly and go out of there way to make u feel welcome. The 3 course set menu is great value for money and some fantastic choices that you wouldnt expect on a value menu. Bar staff very friendly and if you get to meet the chef he cheeky but funny. All round great family pub!! Am now a regular.

We have visited here on many occasions and tend to visit when it's a family members birthday as this is an excellent establishment for families with small children. They have a great play area for small children and you can sit in the play area too but does often get busy. Food is fabulous and we have never had a bad meal even as a big group all ordering different things. It's even better when you buy any meal off the menu and you get child's meal for £1. Great place.

We sat in the play area because my friend has two small children. They played happily the whole time and ate a small bowl from the carvery for free (under twos). The carvery was looked good but I ordered fish from the menu plus carvery veg. I asked for a large portion of cod but this was very generous. It was obviously fresh baked too so although I had to wait a bit it was worth it. Our bill came to GBP 14:90 for one carvery, one main course (fish) soft drinks and two baby meals. Very reasonable and definitely worth a look if you have small children.

Fiddlers Three is a excellent public house serving good food the carvery is £5.95 and you can help yourself to as much veg and Yorkshire puddings as you like. There is a £6.95 three course menu which includes the carvery as well as a fine selection of other meals. The traditional menu is of excellent value with a selection of steak and fish cuisine. There were 10 of us. Variety of ages and the wonderful menu and specials were vast and so appealing. We were not disappointed. Not one meal was wrong and the food arrived at the same time. 4 of us had ribeye steaks and cooked perfect for our individual tastes. My husband and brother had a huge mixed grill and they never left a morsel. Very pleasant staff. Friendly and lovely atmosphere. Going back soon. That's for certain!!!!!

Absolutely spot on, couldn’t fault it. It’s busy so they’re clearly doing something right. Lush honest fresh food

Was at Gateshead College for a meeting & popped into Greenhouse for lunch. Got a fabulous spiced lentil takeaway soup, complete with warm crusty roll, butter, knife and spoon all for £2.50. The soup portion size was excellent value. It was piping hot and super tasty & the warm roll was a fabulous touch, well done. More than I expected for a takeaway soup option. Highly recommend it. 🙂

Visited here with a friend for lunch, Pub was quiet but very welcoming , the assistant mamager Joanne couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, we asked a few questions about the food items which she was able to call down Charlie the lovely chef who was very knowledgeable and eventually cooked and presented our food lovely . We had chicken schwarma which was really tasty and presented well, salt and chilli chicken with a katsu curry sauce which had so much flavour and colour, the food was got and served within 15 mins , we received a check back and a bit chat with Joanne who was leady offering us more drinks and recommending dessert to get us thinking ahead , we ended up having the lava cookie and jam rolly polly, again, really tasty and overall great value . Can't wait to go back for the service and the great value food, keep up the good work team bay horse . Ash xx

Busy little cafe next to the riverside walk. Also dog friendly. Stopped by for a morning coffee break.
