Fiddlers Highland Restaurant & Cafe Bar in Highland

Absolutely fantastic local find! It was so good we ate here twice. All four of our group wanted different experiences and we all got them here. From healthy salmon, to amazing haggis and a great steak, they had it all. True Scottish Highland dining in a warm and welcoming Scottish inn.

It's with a heavy heart I have given Fiddlers a poor rating. It isn't for the quality or the service received. It's not even for the value for money. The reason I've given a poor rating is simple. Myself and my family have been avid fans and visitors to Fiddlers for over 20 years. We all love it and would highly recommend it. However, on this visit we were staying over 90 minutes drive away,but checked the website,which said Fiddlers was open. We drove all that way only to find it was closed! I rang whilst outsideas I thought maybe it didn't open until 7pm. Eventually the phone switched to a voicemail which said Fiddlers was closed untill March 2024. Well, it IS March 2024! But when looking through the window it was clear by all the plastic covers over the furnature that whenever in March it was to be open it most definitely wasn't open. So unfortunately we had made a 3 hour round trip for nothing. Lesson learned, always call before you go and don't rely on the website. Of course this won't stop us from returning, but for Fiddlers, please please make sure you update your website and put the date of opening on.

Booked here after reading the reviews and was absolutely delighted we did. The salmon & prawn starter were delightful & venison main was delicious. I tried a couple of whiskeys and although I'm not a big drinker of whiskey both were nice and smooth. The staff were happy to accommodate our two young children with the dishes they chose and great throughout. This was our last meal of a 4 night stay and it's a shame as we would've booked earlier in the week if we'd had known it would be so good.

An amazing bar/ restaurant. Went with the family while on holiday. The staff were brilliant and very friendly. The food was amazing and the selection of whisky huge!!! Whisky pairings available with all courses and also with the beers, which was really interesting! Would highly recommend. Definitely best to book in advance, we were very lucky to get a table as a walk in.

Excellent food. And if you've never had haggis (like us) but want to try it, this is the place to try it (and it's actually delicious). The people were friendly and accommodating. It's recommended that you book in advance. I concur. I will say that we did not and they were able to fit us in. I suspect this is because of the time of year. And if you're a scotch lover...try not to faint when you walk in. But absolutely *do* walk in!

had a great dinner here! amazing atmosphere and super friendly staff. one of the dishes was not available, however the waiter was truly lovely and suggested us a perfect alternative that we really liked. a huge strength of this place is that on the menu every dish is paired with the best whisky to order along with it, helping you to try the perfect choice out of the wide variety that they offer. prices are fair, considering the great quality of the food and drinks. would come back again and definitely recommend!

Good size pub with parking across the street. We both had the salmon and a couple of drinks. Food was tasty and service great.

The fish and scampi from the van in front of the restaurant were absolutely delicious! You can also sit inside when ordering from the van which is a bonus on a cold day.

We came here for lunch on the way from Inverness to Isle of Skye. I don't think you could go wrong with any menu options here after having such a great lunch.

We pre-booked as a recommendation from our B&B and certainly weren’t disappointed. The welcome was extremely warm and friendly and the pub had a pleasing traditional charm. The food was extremely tasty and my haggis starter (eaten for the first time) in particular, was divine. Our Monk Fish main meals were also delicious and the sherry & ice cream sweet, arguably the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. The Fiddlers is a hidden gem and I would ensure a return visit is a must next time I visit the Highlands.

Our second visit to The Fiddlers, and once again it did not disappoint. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful meal; the venison stroganoff was superb. The main draw is the whisky though, such an incredible selection, and the staff are so knowledgeable, happy to give advice. Will be the first place we book next time we are in the area

Stopped late Tuesday afternoon for a wander around the village and decided to stop here for a quick drink, surroundings were lovely, not too busy, good selection of whiskey, gin and the usual lagers and craft beers plus tea and fresh coffee in addition a trailer in the yard serving fresh hot food in a basket. I put review as a 4* as only one person serving on the bar and a queue of around 8 waiting, young lady was trying her best but no assistance, other than that very nice.

Fiddler’s is a great pub in what really is an incredibly touristy area. Sure, the pub is touristy as well, but the food is legitimately good and the service was also warm and quick. Both the burger and the salad were top notch and priced fairly. Toilets were clean and while the restaurant was busy and a bit cramped, they did their best to keep people moving through. You can’t beat the location and parking is available in a large public lot just across the street.

We had booked for 5.30 and that's when it opens so had to wait a little, but with the bar and picnic benches outside that was not a problem. The children's menu was not the usual fare but the waitress and kitchen staff were very accommodating and came up with a solution for my granddaughter to get something to eat which she enjoyed, along with the ice cream. For the adults not a lot of choice but settled on something and yes everyone was happy with their meals, though not large portions and pricey. Service was very good as was the ambience.

A pub with a decent choice of beers and other drinks (scotch included of course), with a limited menu of basic pub food from their truck. All what we took was rather good, but the atmosphere is dominated by the flows of tourists passing by. Probably much better in wintertime.

We loved Fiddlers. Ate here just last week, we wished we’d eaten there a second time. It’s a beautiful setting, right on the village green. Before the meal we sat out in the sun and enjoyed a beer from their bar. The bar has a fantastic selection of craft beers and whiskies - I was a suitably happy man. We then went inside for a meal, super interesting inside with hundreds of whiskies all over the walls. A top menu too, local dishes all with suggested whisky pairings. Food itself and service were both top notch. Really wholesome, filling, top-quality gastro-pub food. My partner had a goats cheese salad to start, which she loved, then their salmon dish. I had a beef casserole for main which was rich and lovely. We then each had a giant, deconstructed pavlova for dessert - The biggest meringue I’ve seen. A Balblair along with it too.
