Didbt eat. On ordering a drink, no ice for G&T, no crisps either. Lovely to sit outside in sun but tables dirty.

place was nice, service was standard and the food was overall okay, good portion for a good price! Tried the trio sunday roast and was very full in the end! The dog menu is also a nice touch, our Loki loved the mini chicken sausages!

We have been here before, each time it’s fantastic food and such good service. Have the roast beef it’s amazing, beautiful location.

My wife and I stopped here for a drink only today Great location views are worth the journey. Food that we watched other people eat looked lovely no complait that we saw. The building needsmoney spent on it looks tired General outside area and smoking area need a very through tidy up. Staff in the pub where very friendly and efficient. Parking free for 3 or 4 hrs just follow rules.

A lovely meal of gammon steak and trimmings together with tirimasu sweet. Also the staff were first class and efficient and one of them was able to wait on a large number of tables and take orders without writing them down and still deliver without mistakes. A credit to you all

Good restaurant - perfect food and service. Lovely restaurant and a good choice of food. There was even a blackboard with a dog-food menu, so it is definitely dog friendly. Very good service, Ken and Sara looked after us very well and were attentive and helpful. Don't be put off by the "wooden hut at the end of the island" appearance - it is beautiful inside, warm and welcoming, just what we needed after a long walk from the north of the island on a rainy day!

Had buy a gift voucher for Christmas. So decided to get out and cheer ourselves up yesterday arrived to have lovely table looking across the waterfront.Service from the moment we arrived Wes excellent.I believe the fist person who introduced himself was Ken at the same time introduced Erin. Both attentive throughout. Food excellent ,environment excellent. Well done guys. Will definitely be back.

The pub was extremely busy though didn’t have to wait long before being served. Pint and brew ordered and both brought to our table for good service

Great food but terrible service, ordered drinks with meal but never arrived, nobody came near us at all during meal to ask did we need anything, cutlery not replaced after starter. Service let's down the quality of the meal

Great location, large pub venue on the seaside at the entrance to the harbour. So usually something to watch. It might just be early evening, but i often find it very quiet, which has affected my atmosphere rating. I am not a local, so only visit when travelling in the area. Car park is intimidating, but free to customers, with a voucher on purchase system.

The management either have no idea what is going on, or the lie. I will not come back to this place again.

It really is 'just okay'. Sat in the bar area for the views. Food arrived quickly but was average. Help yourself to the cutlery and sauces etc. I saw the manager come in to the bar and shout "oh my God it's dead in here". Bizzare. Parking situation is not clear either.

Lovely pub in a great beach location in Hayling Island, just a short hop by foot ferry to Eastney, Portsmouth - ideal for those who want to walk or cycle to either location. Great place to sit outside when the weather permits, with shelter from the wind provided by glass screens. Popular with dog walkers as beach is next to pub. Pub has a really good menu - specialities include superb roasts, lovely burgers and many other options. Good range of beers and drinks. We love this pub especially for the atmosphere and the warm & friendly service. Today Ken hosted us and couldn’t do enough to help us to make our meal enjoyable!

Very good lunchtime meal. Service fast, polite and accurate. 3 hours free parking which was ample for lunchtime. Added bonus of half price mains as well. Thankyou Ferryboat Inn.

The Ferryboat Pub is an absolute gem on Hayling Island! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish served to perfection. The pub itself has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it’s clear a lot of care has gone into maintaining its charm. The customer service was top-notch, friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. You can really see the difference great management makes here. A fantastic experience all around, can’t wait to visit again!

I love this little pub next to the ferry. You can walk your dog around and then go for a pint or even food. They sell dog food and treats, too. I had a veggie burger from the Christmas menu and it was lovely. Solid pub food. Above wetherspoons etc quality without being fancy/expensive. Not the cheapest but not crazy. Good selection of lager on tap, including Asahi, Peroni and Birra Moretti (including unfiltered). Saw quite a few ales, spirits and wine. A few varieties of alcohol free beer. Cosy atmosphere. There is a separate dining area if you don't want to be around people and their dogs. I wouldn't say it's ideal for wheelchair users, but not impossible, but you can only go in the first dining area as there are steps and narrow corridors most of the way around. I don't think you could go in with both a dog and a wheelchair, but if you ring and ask I'm sure they'll help out. Staff have been friendly and helpful any time we've been in. It is awkward for them with the shape of the bar and people being spread out, but they do try hard to pay attention to all areas. Parking is free with purchase from the pub. Toilets are clean and in good repair.

We came to visit the area for a family day trip and stumbled across this beautiful pub and decided to stay for dinner. Everyone loved their meals and we even stayed for some desserts. The team were amazing and really helpful with our son who doesn’t cope to well in public. Thank you again and we will definitely be back.

Wow what a pub, The Ferry Boat is a stunning pub , so nice sitting in the Top bar watching the world go by especially when there's a nice sunset , can't wait to come back

Quick service of both food and drinks ,friendly ,pleasant efficient staff. Good ambience and views and food was well presented and prepared. First visit to meet with distant family and will be returning.

Great food , the roast with all the trimmings was the best I have tasted in a long time, extra roast potatoes Yorkshire puds and lot of gravy , and the veggie nut roast my wife had was amazing as well all in all fantastic.

Nice pub for a stop if your walking along the beach.

Quiet on return and in ordering the Sunday roast we were told the main trio was sold out, the free extra Yorkshires were sold out also. We recommend if going here go earlier. Food was standard. Roasties were like frozen Aunt Bessie aswell and the Yorkshire. The extra paid for cauliflower cheese was hard so we left that. All depends how you like your veg. We won't be returning for the roast. Beautiful place great views and not overcrowded.

We had a family Sunday lunch. Food was delicious. We asked for extra roasties, Yorkshire puds and gravy which we were brought immediately. Highly recommended

Had Christmas Dinner here today. Incredible food lots of it. Thanks to Edwina and all the amazing staff for a amazing Christmas Dinner. Will definitely do this again.

I've been here before and it was very nice. Today was awful. The chicken in the sandwich was rubbery and it was all just very bland. The chips were ok though.

The food was quite good and the large pub is in a nice seaside setting.

Awesome location, right on the marina with a large beer garden out front overlooking the estuary. The food was well presented but didn’t taste particularly good. Quite a few menu items and drinks we tried to order were out of stock/not available. The menus with sticky as were the tables. The ladies on the table next door had to ask for their table to be wiped clean as it was also sticky - this was in the restaurant area where the tables had been set so no reason for the tables to be dirty. Beware of the very scary parking notices outside and follow the notices carefully

Really good food, I had beef and venison pie with chive mash and veg. Also my partner had lamb shank which was delicious and my grandson had a burger with chunky chips which was very good. We all enjoyed our food sorry no pictures as we were all too hungry to faff about taking them lol 😂.

Made the mistake of parking in the car park. Went to leave the car park tried paying for the parking and card part of payment system wasn't working 🤬. Luckily one of the bar staff came outside and saw that I was having issues and helped us out by means of a voucher. £100 reduced £60 fine. For not being able to pay. Nice little earner there.

After leaving the Inn on the Beech as we waited so long to be served a drink as only 1 poor staff member doing everything we left and went to the Ferryman. What a difference great service even though they were busy they acknowledged we were waiting, order taken by a lovely lady. Food service was prompt and waiting staff were friendly. Great value for money, lovely warm atmosphere. Well done to all front of house and behind the scenes We will return

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Great welcome & service from friendly staff. It was busy when we arrived then almost emptied, think we got there towards the end of the lunchtime rush. Tastefully decorated, warm & cosy (unlike some places we've been to, where you daren't even take your coat off or you'll freeze to death lol!). Super clean and fairly quick to clean away tables after customers have left. We had starters, mains & pudding...all served in good time and reasonably hot. Great presentation and fab tasting, no complaints from any of us, the empty plates said it all! We didn't feel rushed to eat & leave, which was really appreciated. We all (5 of us) had a lovely meal and left feeling full and very happy. We highly recommend visiting here and we will definitely be returning. Thankyou to The Ferryboat Inn for a fantastic experience. Oops, almost forgot to mention, there's parking directly outside, free to Ferryboat customers with a ticket you get once you've paid and then enter your details in the machine by the door as you leave. Perfect!

We had a lovely roast dinner, lovely attentive staff, hope to return again in the future!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch soon after midday. The three meat roast was very good and plenty of it. There was the option of more roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding but we couldn’t eat anymore. The waiting staff were very effluent and friendly. We will definitely return.

We went today to have Fish and chips at the ferryboat inn , we arrived and all looked good , until we tried to sit outside all vacant tables were filthy with used plates and glasses , we found table 507 was free and decided to clean it up ourselves , I went in to a 3deep at the bar with two people flat out serving stood for 15 mins waiting to get served , when i heard a young lady say to the two staff that were working their feet off “ one of you two need to go and pick up glasses and clear tables” the lady working behind the bar said “ we cant we have all these customers to serve” WHY Didnt the miss no it all barking orders roll her sleeves up and get out there and clean tables ! Is she too high up to do such small tasks How ever we did get our food and drink and all was good , But staff need to all work as a team to achieve ‘ I was alway taught not to ask anyone to do something your not prepared to do yourself !!!!! Thanks for your reply but your staff were delivering food and walking past full cluttered tables on the way back in , total waste of service , and it was the lady in charge i saw behind the bar , shouting orders , so it must of been yourself , next time roll your sleeves up and get out there

Great food choice and separate fish & chip hut outside, so you don't have to eat inside the pub. Great for sunsets. Lots of seating inside and outside

Order a creamy mushroom bruschetta, got given mushrooms with melted cheese- advised not what it should be. Was given another, that was just more cheese served hotter. No creamy sauce at all- just melted cheese. Advised staff who literally just shrugged and said they don’t know what it’s meant to be. Not even offered a refund and couldn’t be bothered to wait even longer or complain again.

Good things come to those that wait....and it's true. The food was pretty good but took a very long time to arrive even though we were almost the only people in the restaurant.

The restaurant has such a nice decor and really lovely staff. The food was great. They have a dedicated glutenfree menu and although it's not massive,the options are good. I was allowed to order from their lunch menu for dinner as I wanted a specific glutenfree meal. The service was fast and the whole experience was very pleasant.

This pub is beautifully situated facing eastney point. The tables near the waters edge have a protective clear screening ensuring comfort even when there's a brisk sea breeze . The service was impeccable, from the hostess to the waiting and bar staff everyone was so helpful and finally we were served really good bar food, reasonably priced and well presented.

A varied menu for all tastes. Ken our waiter started by asking if we had any allergies that's something you don't get asked often. Thank you Ken for making our meal more enjoyable.

Just had a drink as my nieces had played on the beach-yes sand. Parked in their car park so got a drink for a voucher. Got a shandy niece lemonade and it wasn't very nice. So went to tell them. Had to change barrel but our drinks were swapped immediately.

We asked for chips to take away as we wanted to eat them further down in the beach. They came fairly quickly and were tasty. Pub is located directly next to the beach with various opportunities to explore this part of the island.

Table was sticky and dirty. Food was fairly overpriced and service quite slow.

The best fish and chips meal iv had in years ..pudding was out of the world sticky toffee pudding with Bailey and pop corn staff was very welcoming and was friendly and nothing was out of there way hope to come back soon if you are on Hayling you must go there

My wife and I and a couple of friends recently went to The Ferryboat Inn for Sunday Lunch. We were welcomed by a lovely lady. The staff were friendly and efficient and the service was very good. The food was delicious.

Great food and excellent service matched with a lovely restaurant and a great location. What more could anyone ask?

Outside area looked pleasant from a distance. Right on coast. Needed some tlc. Tables cleared very slowly, quite grubby. Generally needs a face lift. Inside looked ok. Service a bit slow for drinks. Didn't stay for food due to above reasons. Won't go back.

When we got to our table that wasn't even reserved as requested we were told at the bar that the menu had been changed and food was limited due to the manager getting married. We came from Bristol to come here didn't end up eating and went to a nicer place. They should of put something online to let people know what they were doing will never come back here

Lovely place to sit and have food and drink looking out at the sea would like to say how fantastic Noah is he constantly clearing glasses and plates while helping guests and serving food a real credit. I work in the Industry and think he is a superstar

Only stopped here for a drink this time. Other food looked great, but unfortunately, this time we didn't have any. I will definitely be trying the food when we are back here.

Came to this pub on Wednesday 7th Aug 2024 for the first time. Didn't eat, but the service was very good and the staff were very friendly. Atmosphere was great. All in all, was a very nice pub. Would definitely go back there next time I'm on the Island

Beautiful place to sit and have dinner, especially if the sun's out and you can sit on the decking. I've never eaten a better roast, absolutely delicious, the parsnips and potatoes are devine! We've been at least 5 times in the last couple of months As with most places the prices have risen considerably for eating out, however with this pub I feel the roast is absolutely worth it, you don't mind paying a little extra if youre getting something extra special, which you are. Well done to the kitchen for serving fantastic quality food even when it's busy!

Top notch. It was super busy when we visited, but the staff kept us aware of how long our food would be, and were so friendly. Food was ace! My son loved the prawns on the children's menu. He has not stopped talking about them since.

Very nice venue to sit and relax after a long week. The views are great and the food is very good. Had burgers and a pint. The place was busy but had plenty of seating for every one with space

The staff were really friendly and nice to talk to and got along really well. It took a while to serve, but it was expected with the busy crowd, my food was also made wrong but they gave it back for me for free. 5 stars would recommend.

Haven't been for a long time. Thoroughly impressed with Sunday roast. I had roast sirloin of beef and my husband had trio of meats. Hot food and plenty of it. Very tasty indeed. I really didn't need the pudding though 🙄

A bit of a quiet night, but great tasting food and service. Big bone in the Lamb Shank, and Beer tasted a bit flat.

A make over since we last visited three or so years ago and a massive improvement in quality of food, excellent staff, courteous to a fault, comfortable surroundings and very competitively priced food, cooked and presented well. Very happy to recommend and visit again.
