A lovely meal with sea views! Free parking too.What more could you ask for. Loved it.

Order a creamy mushroom bruschetta, got given mushrooms with melted cheese- advised not what it should be. Was given another, that was just more cheese served hotter. No creamy sauce at all- just melted cheese. Advised staff who literally just shrugged and said they don’t know what it’s meant to be. Not even offered a refund and couldn’t be bothered to wait even longer or complain again.

Good things come to those that wait....and it's true. The food was pretty good but took a very long time to arrive even though we were almost the only people in the restaurant.

So good!!! Love this place, perfect lunch stop if you’re walking along the beach. The steak sandwich is really nice, I’d recommend this place. It’s also dog friendly!

The restaurant has such a nice decor and really lovely staff. The food was great. They have a dedicated glutenfree menu and although it's not massive,the options are good. I was allowed to order from their lunch menu for dinner as I wanted a specific glutenfree meal. The service was fast and the whole experience was very pleasant.

This pub is beautifully situated facing eastney point. The tables near the waters edge have a protective clear screening ensuring comfort even when there's a brisk sea breeze . The service was impeccable, from the hostess to the waiting and bar staff everyone was so helpful and finally we were served really good bar food, reasonably priced and well presented.

Great pub food with a fantastic view. Dog friendly which is a big plus point.

Me and my family had a simply wonderful time at the ferryboat Inn yesterday the food was just excellent and the service from Ken was amazing he just made our day thank you all so much Angela

A varied menu for all tastes. Ken our waiter started by asking if we had any allergies that's something you don't get asked often. Thank you Ken for making our meal more enjoyable.

Just had a drink as my nieces had played on the beach-yes sand. Parked in their car park so got a drink for a voucher. Got a shandy niece lemonade and it wasn't very nice. So went to tell them. Had to change barrel but our drinks were swapped immediately.

We asked for chips to take away as we wanted to eat them further down in the beach. They came fairly quickly and were tasty. Pub is located directly next to the beach with various opportunities to explore this part of the island.

Table was sticky and dirty. Food was fairly overpriced and service quite slow.

We went today to have Fish and chips at the ferryboat inn , we arrived and all looked good , until we tried to sit outside all vacant tables were filthy with used plates and glasses , we found table 507 was free and decided to clean it up ourselves , I went in to a 3deep at the bar with two people flat out serving stood for 15 mins waiting to get served , when i heard a young lady say to the two staff that were working their feet off “ one of you two need to go and pick up glasses and clear tables” the lady working behind the bar said “ we cant we have all these customers to serve” WHY Didnt the miss no it all barking orders roll her sleeves up and get out there and clean tables ! Is she too high up to do such small tasks How ever we did get our food and drink and all was good , But staff need to all work as a team to achieve ‘ I was alway taught not to ask anyone to do something your not prepared to do yourself !!!!!

The best fish and chips meal iv had in years ..pudding was out of the world sticky toffee pudding with Bailey and pop corn staff was very welcoming and was friendly and nothing was out of there way hope to come back soon if you are on Hayling you must go there

My wife and I and a couple of friends recently went to The Ferryboat Inn for Sunday Lunch. We were welcomed by a lovely lady. The staff were friendly and efficient and the service was very good. The food was delicious.

Great food and excellent service matched with a lovely restaurant and a great location. What more could anyone ask?

Outside area looked pleasant from a distance. Right on coast. Needed some tlc. Tables cleared very slowly, quite grubby. Generally needs a face lift. Inside looked ok. Service a bit slow for drinks. Didn't stay for food due to above reasons. Won't go back.

When we got to our table that wasn't even reserved as requested we were told at the bar that the menu had been changed and food was limited due to the manager getting married. We came from Bristol to come here didn't end up eating and went to a nicer place. They should of put something online to let people know what they were doing will never come back here

Lovely place to sit and have food and drink looking out at the sea would like to say how fantastic Noah is he constantly clearing glasses and plates while helping guests and serving food a real credit. I work in the Industry and think he is a superstar

Only stopped here for a drink this time. Other food looked great, but unfortunately, this time we didn't have any. I will definitely be trying the food when we are back here.

Came to this pub on Wednesday 7th Aug 2024 for the first time. Didn't eat, but the service was very good and the staff were very friendly. Atmosphere was great. All in all, was a very nice pub. Would definitely go back there next time I'm on the Island

Beautiful place to sit and have dinner, especially if the sun's out and you can sit on the decking. I've never eaten a better roast, absolutely delicious, the parsnips and potatoes are devine! We've been at least 5 times in the last couple of months As with most places the prices have risen considerably for eating out, however with this pub I feel the roast is absolutely worth it, you don't mind paying a little extra if youre getting something extra special, which you are. Well done to the kitchen for serving fantastic quality food even when it's busy!

Top notch. It was super busy when we visited, but the staff kept us aware of how long our food would be, and were so friendly. Food was ace! My son loved the prawns on the children's menu. He has not stopped talking about them since.

Very nice venue to sit and relax after a long week. The views are great and the food is very good. Had burgers and a pint. The place was busy but had plenty of seating for every one with space

The staff were really friendly and nice to talk to and got along really well. It took a while to serve, but it was expected with the busy crowd, my food was also made wrong but they gave it back for me for free. 5 stars would recommend.

Haven't been for a long time. Thoroughly impressed with Sunday roast. I had roast sirloin of beef and my husband had trio of meats. Hot food and plenty of it. Very tasty indeed. I really didn't need the pudding though 🙄

A bit of a quiet night, but great tasting food and service. Big bone in the Lamb Shank, and Beer tasted a bit flat.

A make over since we last visited three or so years ago and a massive improvement in quality of food, excellent staff, courteous to a fault, comfortable surroundings and very competitively priced food, cooked and presented well. Very happy to recommend and visit again.

Dropped in for an impromptu Sunday lunch. Decent food, good portions. Attentive service and reasonable prices. Parking voucher supplied when paying.

Nice spot with a great view of the estuary. The food was standard pub grub, possibly a little on the pricier side for what it was. It looked like the sea wall had shifted when we visited causing some subsidence of the outside seating area which was consequently cordoned off, so I suspect it may be having a refurb soon.

Lovely location and atmosphere, and we took advantage of the set menu. The house salad was delicious. Very friendly service.

First time frequenting this lovely pub - we’ll definitely be back. Parking very easy and free for guests. Plenty of room both inside and out and lots of choice on the extensive menu. Portion size is just right. My fish and chips was really good. Friendly, efficient service provided by Ken and the team. The only minor criticism is that the front of house staff are not always up to date with what is available on the menu. It took three tries and trips to and from the kitchen for us all to achieve a dessert - they were yummy when they arrived.

Nice vibe, good Guinness and the lamb shank was falling off the bone. Perfection I would recommend!

Plain nice food but not big portions and nothing special. Don’t go for the food - it’s the views which are spectacular. Have a doggy menu too.

Walked from the East of the Island along the south, mostly coastal walk, last bit has a small road section, but ok. The reason for 4 stars was the tables where sticky and didn't seem to get a wipe between customers, otherwise food was great, nice choice and view well worth the walk

Decent pub food at a reasonable price. Doombar ale for £4.30 a pint is good too. Very accommodating to our party including elderly parents.

We just had a drink in a mid week afternoon. It was fairly quiet and not much atmosphere.

We visit the Ferryboat inn regularly and it’s by far the best bar & restaurant for miles around. Today we were served by Noah and he couldn’t have done a better job. Made us feel very welcome and our experience excellent as usual. Thank you Noah & Ferryboat inn.

Only there for drinks which were fine. One thing that lets this place down is that the staff are expected to do too much. Been like this for years.

Nice location. Reasonably priced food. But two non alcohol small bottles beer 11.00 not impressed. Drinks on menu expensive.

Thought we would enjoy a pint and a meal next to sea in garden. Sadly only fish on outside menu. Went inside to bar at rear of pub and only one staff. Poor lady had to keep running to other bar to get beer as no taps seemed to be on in our bar. One person serving only. Not great

Ordered 2x sharing platter’s to come as main meals, this was confirmed with staff. The food came early just as our starters had come, they said they couldn’t take it away but they offered to cook us a new batch. They clearly didn’t do this, was just put under a heater (which the waiter promised they wouldn’t do). This resulted in me and my girlfriend who was sharing this to end up with food poisoning. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT

Tasty meal of sausage and mash followed by rhubarb crumble and a yummy vanilla custard. Staff were great not pushy but checking everything was OK. It was quiet when I was there in the evening but enough people to give a relaxed atmosphere.

At times it's very busy and it takes some time to get served but the food comes out quite quickly. Food choices are good with something for everyone. Car park is free for dinners. Please book online if you plan to go at peak times. We have visited a number of times and enjoy the experience.

Very nice food. We chose from the light bite menu. Chicken bacon and avocado focacia sandwich with chips and salad was delicious and good value meal. The dog friendly area we sat on was spacious well decorated with great views of the sea and ferry. If using the car park, its free, but don't forget to pick up your scan code from the bar, and enter your number plate from the machine inside the pub as you are leaving. Will be returning soon.

Tables weren't cleaned, all sticky. Seating had food on and needed a good clean Food had been left on a windowsill from the day before. Prices have increased but the quality has gone down again and the portion size was small. Definately gone downhill, which is such a shame

Easy parking but was later in the day

We hadn't booked a table for Mother's Day, but we decided to try it as we were in the area. We were given a lovely table in the back room, with views of the sea in all directions. Special mention and thanks to Ken, who was well organised with all the tables in the room. In particular, it has to be said that he took great care of us despite it being jam-packed. All of the food we ordered came out at a reasonable rate, piping hot, and was delicious. I recommend the fish and chips, and the gluten-free options were also great. Children's meals were well priced and a good portion size—also tasty. I asked for a coffee to go, and that, too, was no problem. The atmosphere was great, with pleasant background music —not too loud. Five stars—I highly recommend the Ferry Boat Inn and look forward to stopping by again.

It was not our first time at this pub, but it has been a while. Everyone of our group enjoyed their meals with the exception of me. I had the fish and chips, which was, in my opinion, over cooked. The fish meat was dry with batter being ultra crispy. Several others also had fish and chips, all declared their's to be very nice. As for the other meals, the scampi, beef and venison pie, and hunters chicken were all declared to be very nice too. So, I drew the short straw. I didn't complain as I didn't want a replacement meal, meaning I would be eating when everyone else was finished. And it wasn't inedible. Will I go back ? Yes. I never write a place off on the basis of a single meal. One other negative comment. I ordered bread and butter to go with my meal, having noted that they were going to charge £1 per slice. There was I thinking it would be a nice crusty bread, maybe granary, ciabatta or something special. Nope, two slices of slightly dry sandwich bread from a loaf that probably cost £1.50 That's not a bad profit. I'll end this on a positive note. The apple and ginger crumble dessert served with a jug of custard was very nice.

Not the best food and was not great service, someone served before us who came in after us, was OK for a quick lunch though.

Had lunch here today was vey disappointed that was unable to have a glass of savignon blanc without having to buy a bottle had to have a glass of chenin blanc that was not particularly nice. Also it's a shame you don't do small plates as not only children but the elderly do not have large appetites. In the past I have been able to order a savignon blanc by the glass this change will definitely make me think twice about coming back what a shame.
