Feast At The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink in Brighton and Hove

Beautifully done, very nice experience. From booking tickets through to getting onto the ice was really easy, straight forward and nicely organised. The bar is cute and reasonably priced. The rink itself was good and the skates clean and fresh.

Very rude staff Arrogant manager Staff are not equal to diverse customers! Avoid if you can

A whole Christmassy atmosphere, with lovely staff. Fairly standard coffee shop fare, but no Large or pots of tea. The only savory snacks in the mornings are crisps. But later on there is a good menu.

Excellent concept of an Ice Rink and restaurant in the grounds of the Royal Pavilion. Loads of people having lots of fun…good for all ages!

A staple in my festive calendar. Enjoy a go a around the rink or indulge in some mulled delicious mulled beverages.

Paré aquí para tomar el té de la tarde y comer algo. Principalmente una pista de hielo, pero también ofrece una cafetería decente. Amplios asientos con vista a la pista o mirando hacia una de las carreteras principales (!!) El menú ofrece una amplia variedad para comer con ofrendas ligeras también. El precio es bueno para el área y obviamente es popular ya que había un flujo constante de clientes para el café. El ambiente es ligero y amable y el personal también fue amable.

Went for a couple of drinks. Lovely venue despite the bad weather it was beautiful with the lighting at night.

Out door Ice rink was great fun. There are small lockers a bar and kitchen as they call it and toilets. All made for great day out.

Best ice I've skated on in years.the earl grey tea was also quite acceptable.

It's a bit pricey. The locker's are a bit of a rip off. But if you ask where you get skates as you can put your bag back there as it's only a £1 and you can for put all you bags in one. The drinks are really overpriced and the food was not great. But the ice is good.

Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing gluten free toffee cake but the cleanliness let's the place down. Dirty tables, very dirty and greasy menu, such a shame

To be honest there is limited Beers or caffes you can get and coffees are not fresh at all and there isn't cafe machine there only hot water and cafer powder.

Really clean and well run seasonal rink. Definitely busy at times and better to strategically plan your visit to quiet times to maximize your visit, especially if you have small unexperienced children. They also allow visitors to bring their own skates.

Lovely ice rink, twinkly. NB have had things nicked ring side though. Use lockers.

Great but was pouring of rain and your not allowed to reboot so puts me off booking in advance as it's not cheap so was a waste of money this time but great when weather is dry

Can get quite busy but to be expected on a Saturday night! Great place to go in the winter and do something different for a change with friends. We go every year.

Fantastic! Such beaituful sourdings and warm atmosphere even though your Ice skating! Great bar and restaurant area with a huge choice of drinks, food. My daughter was allowed to bring her dog too..

Surprisingly tasty food in wonderfully seasonal surroundings at the right price. They really have got it right here. The food was just perfect, served speedily as the occasion requires. The whole table of 9 chose differently and all were very impressed. The only downside is the bar serves very undrinkable white wine (we tried a few, all disgusting) and very sadly the ale tasted acidic, a shame as it was Longman which everywhere else is excellent so clearly it was not kept well (& the pipes not cleaned daily). Avoid the bar but eat the food.

Great festive bar and the ice skating is incredibly festive

Mis hijos y yo lo pasamos muy bien en la pista de hielo de ayer, seguido de una deliciosa comida en el restaurante. Esta fue nuestra primera visita y sin duda volveremos. Las instalaciones y la organización son insuperables, ya que es una atracción temporal. No entiendo a los críticos que se quejan de que no hay reembolso en caso de mal tiempo. El sitio web dice claramente vestirse para el clima y es un enlace al aire libre. Los organizadores no pueden hacerse responsables por el clima.

Wont let you cancel or change days of your booking even though its raining heavily so your basically ice skating in a pool of water. Okay fair enough no refunds but at least let people change the day of their booking!??!?

Do not bother booking in advance, there is no refund even during HEAVY rain.

Love it as always but always go early or when most kids are at school less busy

Vi esto anunciado en Facebook y como un grupo grande de nosotros buscábamos un lugar peculiar para nuestra Navidad, decidimos que esto parecía ser muy divertido. Inicialmente estaba satisfecho con el aspecto de este restaurante temporal. Tenía un ambiente cálido y acogedor. El entrante (sopa) era realmente bueno, pero la ensalada de queso azul se veía muy triste por sí misma. Lamentablemente, la tarde comenzó a desinflarse desde este punto en adelante. Hubo un giro constante alrededor del lugar, lo que llevó a la mayoría de nosotros a sentarnos y comer con nuestros abrigos a nuestros hombros y dos personas decidiendo irnos temprano como resultado de esto. Hubo un problema por el hecho de que no queríamos una cuenta y preferíamos comprar nuestras bebidas individuales a medida que avanzábamos, el plato principal estaba frío, al igual que el café después de la cena y conseguimos leche en lugar de crema para preparar el café. Tal vez solo una o dos veces el personal preguntó "¿todo es O. K? Al final, para pagar la factura, teníamos que levantarnos e ir a la caja porque no había personal visible para preguntar. Pagar la factura resultó ser un poco fiasco, ya que habíamos pagado un depósito para asegurar la mesa, pero cuando terminó la noche, a pesar de decirle al gerente que teníamos a 3 amigos que no pudieron asistir, ¡nos cobraron por sus comidas! Naturalmente, nos negamos a pagar esta parte de la factura, ya que habíamos avisado al personal de quién no estaba aquí y de lo que habían pedido específicamente, para que supieran que no había ningún requisito para cocinar estas comidas y que no había ningún lugar en su papeleo. Es claro que este sería el caso. Afirmó que el depósito no era reembolsable? pero no indicaba claramente que el resto de la factura aún se pagara por el "número total" de personas para las que estaba reservado el cuadro. Un final muy frustrante para lo que había sido una velada agradable, debido al ambiente de la ubicación, menos el borrador.

Very colourful and great fun. Cosy restaurant looking out on a fairy tale ice-rink. Very friendly. Just walk in. Skate hire. Easy access.

Went for the first time and definitely glad to have tried it.

Great rink, worst staff in Brighton. Tom who works in the skate collection area is extremely rude to everyone he serves, I've personally obsevered him being rude to the elderly and children. Not to mention how rude he was to me and my life partner Gregory. Tom should be put on leave and given customer service training immediately, if this is done I'll rectify my damning review, his manager Tracy was also not willing to speak professionally about Tom's outlandish behaviour.

After a nice meal out me and my freinds decided to go ice skating and it was amazing the place is very cosy and beautiful and the cafe is really nice too for a ht drink

Popped down for the opening of the Ice Rink 2018. Since we last went they have made the main skating area bigger by moving the childrens skating area round the corner. Very reasonable price, 14 for an adult for almost 50 minutes of skating. My only criticism is they allow a few too many on the ice at once. When confidence has built it becomes a little chaotic with everyone zooming around.

Opening day for the Brighton Pavillion Christmas Ice Rink and what a great setting. We have visited this place on a regular basis for the last 4 years and love it. However: The inside bar and catering area for spectators and visitors used to enjoy Christmas records playing throughout their visit. Last year, there was no music which dulled the atmosphere The rink is for the Christmas period so it would make it special by playing festive music while the the skaters are enjoying their activity and the spectators can join in the fun.

Nice food and bar (serving mulled wine) with view at the skating ring. Good prices.

Was expecting a nightmare, was surprised. Well managed.

Overpriced drinks young inexperienced staff, can't see the skaters, won't bother in future.

Watched family members skating at the pavilion , inside room very warm with heaters, mad outside with children skating , very pretty lights, well signposted and temporary paths put down to get your there

Great for all ages, well organised now as they have been doing it for years. Good coffee bar as well as a pub, lots of seats and viewing areas. Staff are friendly and attentive. Excellent!

Every year a group of us friends go out for a Christmas meal. This year we decided to try the Christmas menu at the Royal Pavilion ice rink. Lovely setting with the back drop of the pavilion but very disappointed with everything else! -the menu I received by email was not the “full menu” I was told by waitress. We didn’t know the soup was spicy (wouldn’t of chosen as an option) and that the shallot tart had mushrooms in it (allergies) -the creme brûlée didn’t have a hard crispy topping, the cheese board was dry - the waitress got nearly every drink wrong; ordered vodka fresh lime and soda, instead got lime cordial. Ordered G and slimline T, got normal G&T - by 10pm it was absolutely freezing- we had our post dinner coffee and mince pies in our coats and ended up moving tables! For the money we were really dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The effort of some of the staff just about made the evening enjoyable. Won’t be back next year!

Had lunch here today, pizza wasn't nice at all , my friend's meal didn't look great either and she told me it wasn't tasty . Told staff, very disinterested. I would avoid eating here, would just go ice skating only

This really has to be the most beautiful setting for a ice rink in the south of England. With the Royal Pavilion lit up at night and the restaurant sparkling with lights, great food and a bar selling a great choice of beer and wines as well as a whole menu just for gin and tonic. Examples include Foxhole London dry gin - £4.80 with Folkingtons tonic at £2.00. Expensive but worth it as you watch the skaters from the warmth of the restaurant. A real most go to venue.

Great food, large portions, reasonable prices while watching the skaters. We went here four some lunch with friends from the area who brought their kids to skate. We had a lovely meal of all kinds, Pizza, fish and chips, pies, Burgers chips, prawns, calamari all very tasty. a pleasant surprise!

Beautiful location and nice-sized rink. The cafe and bar were a little unimaginative and too expensive for us to stay long, but I have to commend their excellent toilet facilities.

Booked a couple of tickets for the ice skating through the website on ticketmaster earlier in the week - no hassle and no issues. The day of the skating resulted in awful weather, lots of wind and rain all day (not outdoor skating weather)! I called the box office in order to try and reschedule or gain some assistance with altering our tickets. The constant rain and wind makes it dangerous to ice skate outside in my opinion. I received no help and was told I could either skate in the awful weather or loose out on the money! Awful serviceAwful customer serviceAwful assistance

Popped in for a cup of tea and and bit of relaxation looking at he lovely view, but was somewhat distracted by the seven out of twelve tables in the large bay window area covered in dirty dishes.Such a shame. Lovely looking room, terrific view, but staff don't seem to be very professional or trained at all, preferring to chat to their friends.

We all thoroughly enjoyed eating here recently, great quality & choice of food for us none meat eaters & the meat eaters in our party. At a very decent, price too. Wonderful home baked breads meant we didn't have to worry about out daughters soy allergy, which made a pleasant change & she loved having much more choice. & very wheelchair friendly too Only negative - I just wish we had discovered it sooner, as it won't be there for long, so we will miss out on going back as often as we would like

Again they delivered, always a good time on the ice, the staff as normal helpful to those who shall we say are not quite up to Torvill and Dean standards. The cafe area is nice but personally a little over priced with so many other places to eat around that area. Overall worth a visit

The Royal Pavilion annual Chrisimas dinner was held as usual on the 11th and 19th December in the fabulous Banqueting Room. The food was excellent and the service was impecable. This room must be seen to be belived! We started off with a drinks reception in the Great Kitchen,sparkling white wines served with canopes, and then moved into the recently fullly restored music room where a quire sang Christmas Carrols. Dinner was served in the fab Banqueting Room where large circular tables (for ten persons on each) were laid around the massive long central table laid with gold plate and fantastic china & silverware as ready for the Prince Regent!

Me and my fiancee came to have a drink at the restaurant after our ice-skating session around 5pm. All we asked for was 2 glasses of hot milk and bartender charged us 4 GBP (!). I told him it is ridiculous price, I have never been charged 2 GBP for a glass of milk. He said there is no other option on the till machine and it is the same as coffee. I said it can't be the same - because there is no coffee, it's just milk. COSTA coffee charges 0.49 GBP for a glass of milk; 1 pint of milk costs 1 GBP in a shop. I only asked for 1 glass. Bartender was rude and gave us an option either to pay or leave. After all I spoke to a manager and got 2 GBP refund. He still said they "need to make profit" because of the high rent and season. I still think it is still inappropriate to charge so high for a glass of milk.

Excellent tapas style lunch, chorizo and onions, patatas bravas, garlic prawns, calimari and fresh bread, all while watching the skating, also reasonably priced bottle of wine

The ice rink in front of Brighton iconic pavilion must be one of the most romantic sites in the south east. We had lunch there today and the food was excellent "Sunday roast" or tasty starters. Highly recommended for grand parents to take their off spring and watch them on the ice from the comfort of the warm and friendly restaurant

The Ice rink comes to Brighton every winter and with the backdrop being the Royal Pavilion it is not to be missed.

very disappointed, could have stopped off at any number of small coffee shops and had coffee in a proper cup. Instead paid £5.00 for 2 paper cups.
