Food was delicious, I gave a four because my pathia wasn't hot at all and full of onions but apart from that top notch grub, service great, the guy at the till is a top bloke, Atmos 4 because it's a takeaway, not exactly expecting anything special.

Moved locally 6 months ago, had about 6 take aways from here, very good, very consistent, the best I have had in Newcastle and we have had quite a lot in different places locally, some we paid a lot of money for and still not as good as here, recommend online ordering and payment works well, thanks Lee

Really tasty NaanBabs and the tandoori chicken starter was fresh and tasty. Complimentary chips was a nice touch...they also tasted great. Highly recommended

Ordered tikka mossalla nan that appeared to have very little but sugar, red food colouring and sliced precooked chicken, in it, nothing remotely authentic. Very disappointing 😞 although the nan was OK but also seemed a bit sweet.

We ordered a takeaway. The food arrived exactly on time with friendly delivery. The food was delicious with big chunks of meat and tasty, thick sauce. The tomato sauce on top of the rogan was especially good! We will definitely order from here again

Got delivery today, absolutely shambles. Ordered a lamb rogan josh got the complete wrong thing couldn't even make out what it said it was. Ordered a garlic naan and plain but they sent 2 plain. Naans were underdone and just not to standard.

Terrible service wrong order not willing to correct also just been told they received a zero stat food hygiene few months back . Prawns were over cooked

Great food. Wonderful tandoori kebabs. Cash only, which is a bit annoying. The website is a pain to order through. Very easy to get to, with parking at the front and back.

I’ve just had a mutton rogan josh it was beautiful my partner had mutton madras which was lovely first time but won’t be the last the man on counter said see you next week and we will be back well worth a visit

Enjoyable meal - decent portions too. Slow service when busy but that's the price you pay for choosing a popular place.

This takeaway is by far the very best tandoori takeaway in the north east, by a mile! The food is amazing, the service is excellent and the staff are always professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. If you’ve never tried it before give it a go, you’ve tried the rest, now try the best….

Best tandorri for years, last nights takeaway was inedible, chips were dry and hard as if they were standing 3 days curry was ok but previous curries a lot better and Nan wasn’t cooked enough , is it under new management?? mentioned this to my daughter to be informed recent hygiene inspection ( March 23) rated 1star , what’s happened??? Used to be one of the best on the north east by far , lost my custom very saddened by last nights takeaway

Best Indians I've had and would recommend. Went for the samba which is billed as being "like a staff curry", very nice.

Got chicken tikka masala. Instantly made me sick, caused heavy breathing. Got pneumonia a few days later. Food hygiene is sus. Literally 5 bites in I felt so sick I was going good is and puked it all up. Went to this place for years and can’t trust them now EDIT Got a bacterial infection from the food now have reduced nervous system function from the bacteria in the food. Had the food and was sick the next day!

This second review of FT coincides with the second time I’ve ate their food. I must say, my overwhelming sense was one of disappointment. I wanted to taste a curry which revealed layer upon layer of flavours. That didn’t happen. All I got was heat from the chillis. No depth. No breadth. No bandwidth to the notes. My naan was dry. And the fabled FT chips were at best average. I tasted nothing to compel my return.

Indians tonight & looked online . No Deliveroo or Just Eat so went to pick it up . The guy’s in the shop were really busy but friendly & lovely greetings & byes . Food was lovely & hot & tasted amazing . We had chicken pakoras with a dip , chicken tikka masala , garlic chicken , garlic & special rice & a nan , cost £27 . Definitely be back just lovely thanks 👍🏼

After ordering from here for a while now I must say ordered last night waited 2 hours for my delivery the food was cold and some items missing absolutely disgusted with there service blamed the driver for not checking my order at the shop for stuff missing won't be ordering from here again bad manners aswel

New years eve so I understand . Ordered for 7.30 delivery arrived 9.40 . Over 2 hours late . Spoke to them 1 hour over delivery time . I was told that they had 250 orders taken , ridiculous. Should not be taking orders if they cannot fulfill delivery time . On arrival the order was wrong ! . Now they are not answering the phone I have used this takeaway for many years but I will not be using them ever again . Very let down by this takeaway . Very poor service . Very let down .

I would have to say that this is the best Indian takeaway around here for miles! It has been around for a very long time, since the 80's and it has always been very good! I hadn't had this for around 7 years maybe more and so thought I'd try it again for a new year's eve treat and we were not disappointed. It may be a little on the pricey side but it's definitely worth it. If you're looking for a nice, local Indian takeaway then look no further, you won't be disappointed! We booked early as we knew they'd be busy on new year's eve, we ordered for it to arrive at 7:15 but it came early at 6:45, I wasn't complaining as I don't like waiting around. Overall, we can't fault it. The food was full of flavour but not too spicy as a lot of Indian dishes can be unbearably spicy for me. Keep up the good work guys, we will be ordering again soon and recommending you to all our friends and family 👌👍

Been 3 times for collection on every occasion had to wait over 2 hours an hour of that in the shop food not to bad but not worth the 2 hour wait!

Me and my partner have just had a tandoori nan bab and he got mix balti nan bread and this food was fresh and gorgeous.first time trying here and it most deffo is our new take away.would recomend this place to any one.its a must try 👌👌👌👌

Twice now, I've ordered what was meant to be a vegetarian meal, only to find chicken in my food (both times I only realised when it was actually in my mouth). We've ordered from Fawdon Tandoori for years, but we just can't trust them anymore. Order at your own risk.

Food got here 90 mins later I understand they are busy this time of year but it was freezing cold when it arrived. Won’t be ordering again

I had despaired of EVER finding a good Indian takeaway in the area - then found this place! Excellent chunks of quality meat in delicious sauces - chicken tikka bun is delicious! It’s quickly become a firm favourite...highly recommended.

Food is excellent however, I will not be using these people again as there is a £13 minimum spend on deliveries which they don't tell you on the leaflets. They deliver to suit themselves and open to suit themselves. I am told to look at it from a business prospective. I have been a loyal customer since 1988 when they first opened. I feel very let down!

La familia y yo siempre usamos el fawdon para llevar, siempre consistente, pido un pollo tikka Dhansak, buen plato, agridulce, un poco de calor, perfecto, muy morisco, el arroz pilau, fragante y esponjoso, ahora mi pan naan (peshwari ) Cuando lo ordeno en línea, siempre pido que se queme un poco, me encantan los bordes nítidos y luego el suave relleno dulce que está dentro, perfecto, bien hecho, sigue haciendo un buen trabajo.

Absolutely disgusting I saw a rat jumping around the shop and the curry was cold and the chicken was raw and also it was dry and gave me food poisoning and lastly it was stinky and look very disesive and the person who served me was absolutely rude. Never recommending this place.

After a friend reccomding this place omg by far my favourite Indian food in Newcastle. The only bad thing I can say about this place is It needs to open earlier on a Sunday 😂 oh and maybe don't ask for extra hot it comes to hot.

Without doubt the best Indian Takeaway in the west end of Newcastle, from somebody who has tried them all. The food is consistently brilliant and I travel out of my way to use Fawdon ahead of all others.

I love this place! I've been going for a number of years and never been disappointed. I've tried all the curry houses in the area and none of them can compare. The staff are great and the food is amazing. I've always been a fan of meat cooked in the tandoor and so their Tandoori mixed naan kebab should not be missed. Mixture of chicken tikka, sheek kebab and mutton tikka with peppers and onions and then chips. But upgrade to the spicy chips to really get the full experience. Another fantastic meal is the bindiya chicken which is very delicately spiced and cooked with mango. The garlic chicken tikka is out of this world too. Can't fault the place and you can even order online.
