Food is good. One of the managers was rude..the waitress that looked after us was lovely..very very helpful, cheerful and polite..I am still waiting for a voucher for 30pound that I could not retrieve on my phone!

Not made aware Prezzo was cashless until after the meal and asked for the bill. No signage event anywhere or advertised. I do not support a restaurant that operates in the UK that does not accept UK currency. As such I will not be visiting again

Always good food! As always though we ordered a dish of olives at time of drinks order, twice had to remind the staff! Olives should be served with drinks not with main meal! Perhaps inform the staff! No other problems. Decent delivery if lovely food.

Lovely places as always - prices are increased a lot! £8.25 for a small portion of cheesecake. However, Taster Card did the trick with 2 for 1 on all food.

Had a wonderful meal with my daughter-in-law & granddaughter aged 11 - it was a special occasion. We wasn’t disappointed we all enjoyed our food, especially the desserts. Staff very friendly with genuine smiles. We left feeling full and satisfied. There were a lot of other diners on a Saturday lunch time.

We had a family meal at Prezzo Rayleigh. Overall the food was nice, my sticky toffee pudding wasn’t cooked very doughy. The service could be a lot better a couple of staff were poor could do with more training. We said we had some Tesco vouchers to waitress and asked for bill instead of bringing the bill she bought her machine and started scanning our vouchers I asked if we could see bill but said she has to scan vouchers first I said how are we meant to know how much our bill is then ? It spoilt our evening as it took over 30 minutes to sort out.

I've eaten here before (years ago) and the food and atmosphere was nice. It wasn't hugely busy for a late Friday evening, but the whole feel of the restaurant was "grim" Food took 30 minutes for starters and almost hour for main. Food was inedible, cutlery was dirty, a hugely disappointing experience for us both so made a swift exit. Stopped off for food elsewhere on our way back! Such a shame but never again!

We were very disappointed with service on 16th Feb. We were waiting for everything, needed to ask for everything from new cutlery after appetizer, 1 meal for one of us (probably forgotten) , Parmigiano cheese... it was not busy restaurant as there was just 4 tables with customers. After meal we waited for somebody to ask for bill.... we have to go to bar to pay as nobody came to check on us. Completely different service and experience then Chelmsford Prezzo.

Great food and lovely friendly staff. Had not realised it was the last evening of school half term holiday and it was full of families with young children and extremely busy. The wait staff seemed to be run off their feet but were really friendly and served us quicker than expected given how busy it was. Calamari was amazing and the black forest sundae for dessert was delicious.

Service wasn't very good at all, even though it wasn't that busy, with long waits unnecessarily. The food was really good but the prices were too high, comparible to a an independent higher end restaurant.

Not a problem with quality of food or service, yes a bit pricey but you get what you pay for these days but OMG no cash accepted. This could’ve been so embarrassing and unfortunately that’s put me off. Maybe the Bank of England should reconsider rewording the notes, crazy world. Sorry Prezzo, I think you need to reconsider, maybe a contributing factor towards your restaurants closing down

It was chaos. Staff running about and then standing around at the bar wondering what to do. It took 50 minutes for us to get our drinks order (which was wrong), our starters came out five minutes after but they forgot one. We then waited another hour for our main meals. Inbetween the starters and main we ordered some more drinks which took 30 minutes (even though we could see them being prepared on the bar). One of our party left to get a take away as the mains took that long. The waitress was apologetic and when we asked for the bill she asked if we had any vouchers! I pointed out the terrible service we’d had, and that maybe they should be offering a discount. She went to manager to find out. 20 minutes later we got our bill. They did take money off but I would never ever go back. It was a disaster.

Food was nice but not much chicken for the extra £3. Drinks are quite expensive. Service was excellent and so added the tip to my card payment. Note, card payment only at this restaurant. Music was a little loud for my taste and not really necessary.

Food OK, but nothing special considering the price, plus our table had to wait a long while before the food arrived. Also, it was uncomfortably cold inside while eating the meal. Very unlikely we would return.

To say something is very wrong would be an understatement. My friends and I have eaten at this particular Prezzo for years, and never usually had problems...however, recently things have gone rather wrong. The order sizes have shrunk, especially the pasta dishes. We usually order the spaghetti carbonara with added chicken....it used to come in a lovely large dish and now it's a tiny portion with 4 or 5 tiny bits of chicken (which for an extra £3 is ridiculous). But more worrying was the serious lack of communication between staff. I understand it's a busy time of year, but the restaurant can only get so busy as there are only a set number of tables. So surely the staff should be able to handle it at it's busiest, if not then management need to restructure their staffing needs. On our last visit for example, we waited 45 minutes for our food, and when it came the waitress bought our desserts before our mains....took them back....then we waited a further hour for our mains to finally arrive (que the disappointment in the tiny carbonara) then a further hour past whilst we waited for our desserts which they had tried to serve us previously....in the end we told them to cancel the desserts and asked for the bill so we could just leave. The table next to us were having the same problem and also decided to leave half fed. £50+ it cost me for the privilege of two tiny dishes and a couple of fruit juices over the time span of 3 hours of waiting.....and it then took 4 staff members just to sort out our total and give me the bill. But sure, take my £50 I guess. I sincerely hope things improve.

Ordered online - £42 for a cold pizza and wrong pasta order. I've always been loyal to Prezzo but this was really poor. The pasta dish arrived cold and wrong, so it went in the bin as it couldn't be reheated again. The pizza and garlic bread was stone cold, again it had meat on the top so it couldn't be reheated again so we shared it, cold. Really really disappointed and will not make the mistake of ordering here again.

If I was you don’t order it because it was supposed to get here 1 hour and 45minutes it’s bad why take orders if you can’t deliver them in the time it’s ridiculous but the food is amazing but don’t order it.

NEVER eating their food again! Came here for the first time and took a very long time to get a drink or order food. Was served mouldy raspberries that were placed so that you couldn’t see the fur underneath. Ordered a takeaway to see if it would be better, was served bacon in a veggie burger! Useless chefs!

Used to visit once /twice a month when it 1st opened, was always a busy,good food and atmosphere . We've been back occassionly In the last year, but Rayleigh has some very good independent Italian restaurants and Prezzo sadly is NO competition! Wife and I booked with short notice Sunday and I wished we never bothered! 2.30pm and the restaurant was empty apart from us and 2 other couples ( odd) long story short - NO atmosphere, service slow ( although staff friendly ) both mine and wives meal arrived stone cold - had to flag this with the waitress after trying to find some warm pasta underneath- waitress asked if I would like mine "warmed up a bit " ? I asked for a a fresh one please, which was agreed and in less than 10 mins it arrived . My dish was OK, a little bland but hot and edible , I ate my lunch , but we then waited and waited for the bill , another waitress appeared and took payment , as we left at 3.30 prime time, the restaurant was deserted , no staff apart from the young waitress ! Soo a big disappointment and a shame for an , nothing special , no atmosphere- shell of a place it used to be ! No wonder big chains are struggling , they no longer care and Given up trying ! I have complained to Prezzo and they do not reply or care ! Another chain gonna go bust ! and deservedly so !

Visited 27/7/24 at 1915 The older brunette woman with the black and white top. When we first arrived I noticed she was slurring and talking to a male member of staff like rubbish. The male member of staff then told me and my son to wait for a table to be cleaned so we did. This woman cleaned the table about 15 minutes later so we sat down. She then said loudly ‘ERRRR I DIDNT CLEAN THIS FOR YOU’ again slurring like she was drunk and looking me up and down like I was a problem. Absolutely disgusted at her behaviour. She even asked one of the young blonde waitresses what I was doing. Never have I been so embarrassed by a jumped up jobs worth who seems to be on the booze while on the job. I walked out and I will let EVERYONE I know to never EVER bother with that place. The woman needs sacking and a lesson in customer services before ever being allowed to work with the public again?! ABSOLUTELY VILE!!!!

What a disappointing meal! As customers of Prezzo for over 15 years, it was the worst meal I’ve had. After waiting an hour, the pizza was chewy and luke warm. The goats cheese and red peppers on top were raw and the base was hard to cut causing me a bad bout of indigestion. The tables were sticky and grubby and the place looked run down. The staff were friendly but waiting time was far too long. I would not recommend this for a good meal any more. 🙁

Saw a car pull up at around the right time went to the front door but no person got out so, as still within timescale, assumed not delivery. 10-15 mins later order delivered from the car I’d seen - when I said you’ve been sat there a while apparently the address was wrong so had to make phone calls. What a load of tosh - correct address on order so no reason why a computer would change. Food might have been tasty if warm but tepid at best. Sack the delivery driver for a) not attempting delivery

Worse restaurants as flies everywhere, staff are very slow, not busy but takkng a long time , not good place to eat.

Haven't been to Prezzo for many years but visited with friends on a special offer. Really quite disappointing, and glad we did not pay full price for everything. Even with the special offer it seemed not great value. Can't quite put my finger on it, nothing was horrible or inedible, it was just all quite underwhelming and a bit 'meh'. Lacking any real flavour or identity. Would be fine if it was run of the mill pub food but when the price is a premium it doesn't quite work. The service and staff were really nice so the star rating is not a reflection on them really. Can't really fault them at all. But due to the food, would Def not rush back . You can't pay in cash ( but we were able to tip in cash which I prefer) and should have been told when we arrived but this was missed. Not a huge deal and not contributed to this rating, just mentioned for information

Took an hour for our food to be delivered once the order was placed. Really disappointed as the shop is less than 10 minutes away from my house. When our food arrived, it wasn’t hot and our chips were soggy. Assuming the driver had several drop offs and didnt come straight to us which would explain the luke warm soggy food and the delay in delivering. When we told the delivery driver how long it took, he just shrugged, dropped the food off and walked back to his car.

Food was lovely and the young girls serving us was lovely. And really welcoming to our kids. However was a bit horrified at how the manager was speaking to these girls who were working really hard and rushed off their feet! Not nice hearing her shouting at them! Shocking!

Went for my wonderful mums birthday the staff where amazing polite helpful, the food lovley made my mums evening when everyone sang happy birthday .

I've given 3 star because of their prices. Prezzo is so dear now even with your discounts. £18.50 for a Calzoni pizza and £6.95 for a pint of lager there's no need for restaurants to charge so much. You need repeat customers ok I'll be back next year

We have had to complain before about the quality of the chicken being left over from lunch time and warmed for the evening, (we were told they never do this and each order is cooked fresh) this did improve and we have had no problem for some while. we ordered for delivery various chicken meals on the 24th February, and was found yet again the chicken had been reheated the skin was like cardboard and the meat was not as you would give to a pet, I will now think again before ordering again.

We booked via a call, for 9:30pm as the restaurant says it closes at 11pm. Upon arrival we were informed the kitchen is closed so we cannot be served. This is of course ok however believe this should be stated online/not let us book. We informed the gentlemen at the door that it let us book on the phone, and he was rather defensive in stating the kitchen is closed however we only meant it in an informative way so this information was updated. Is a shame as would like to were keen to try this restaurant but the defensive response has put us off a bit. Understandably, it’s a Saturday night so he probably has had a long shift but we believe there could have been a kinder approach.

Situated along the Rayleigh shopping precinct. This venue offers good options for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. Also has a well stocked bar and also serves hot beverages.

I went with family who all enjoyed the birthday celebration, 11 of us. I have allergies there was no real alternative menu. Just one item that didn't contain garlic. Sea Bass and oven chips was only just acceptable.

Good food, friendly service. UPDATE JAN 2024 Had a shocking experience. Wait times were horrendous and when we did eventually get the food my starter was overcooked (calamari like bullets) and my main was ropey (Salmon rigatoni ) not much evidence of salmon. The staff were incredibly good given the circumstances. My guess is they were understaffed for what was a busy Saturday evening. Won't go again.

Such a disappointing visit last night. Waited a good few minutes to be seen when we arrived, only to be greeted by a very surly front of house staff member. It seemed like we were a real inconvenience, despite us having prebooked. She disappeared to find our table and then did not return to us for at least 5 minutes. Once all of our party had arrived, noone came to see us for about 30 minutes, and even then I had to ask the waitress if we could order drinks. Eventually, someone took our food order, which when it arrived was average at best. Noone came to see us during our meal to see if we wanted more drinks or if everything was OK. Once again we had to ask to order more. . After we had finished our mains, we waited for over 30 minutes before having to go and ask if we could see the dessert menu. By this time it was 10.45 - we arrived at 8pm. When it came to payment, I went to pay with cash but was told that it was card only. At no point before or during the meal were we told that cash would not be accepted. We were not told at booking, nor did I see any signs in the restaurant. Fortunately I did have my card with me, but what if I hadn't? Overall, a hugely disappointing evening which spoiled a friend's birthday..

The last two times we have ordered the food has been stale and Luke warm at best. We are loyal customers to them so I think we deserve freshly cooked and hot food.

Main course food was ok but should have been better given the price. Garlic bread was very good.
