Favo'Loso in Eastbourne

I've been here a couple of times before pre theatre and had lovely meals. This time I had a friend visiting for the weekend and brought her here for lunch on Sunday. The place was packed, but we were still able to find a table. The staff are always wonderful and the service is friendly and efficient despite the volume of customers. We enjoyed our main courses and, as it was a special lunch with my friend, we decided we'd have dessert - my choice being one of their fabulous ice cream sundaes. We felt we had to make a special mention about the young man, Jayden, on the ice cream counter who could not have been more courteous and professional. It felt like he'd been helping customers for years, although we discovered he was only in his teens and a relatively new addition to the team. We'll be back again soon.

Our children enjoyed the ice cream here at Favo Loso. Eldest child rated it 5* as "it was outstandingly delicious." All ice cream is made on sight. Very friendly staff who servered us. Lovely decor inside. The staff even gave the children a little freebie ice cream to celebrate easter - the mini egg ice cream which was really tasty too! Well worth a visit!

I had breast.of chicken. When it came there were a lot of so called new potatoes which were green. The chicken breast was over covered with a mushroom sauce which tasted like it was made from a powder. Some of the chicken was tender but the rest was very dry. When my Husband complained the Manager did nothing. We will not be going there again for lunch.

Stopped off here before a theatre visit. Very busy, coffee and pastries were delicious. Other food looked very good. Friendly staff.

No vegan. So don’t bother if you have any dietary requirements. Lady behind me wanted gluten free - and they sent her away too! Fine if you just want normal ice cream or cake but otherwise I wouldn’t bother. If out of 20 cakes you can’t make any vegan then you simply don’t care.

Comical interior hides the fact that this place sells some of the best desserts and coffee that I can remember. The coffee is just absolutely amazing. The cake portions are huge and ought to be shared.

9 of us arrived for lunch before a matinée at the nearby Devonshire Theatre. The menu is simple. No twirly flourishes but honest food. I had a cottage pie and salad. It arrived sizzling hot. Just right on the freezing cold day. Some had minestrone soup, which they said was thick and warming. Some had baked potato 🥔, which could win a prize as the biggest baked potato in the world! The service was quick and friendly staff. Altogether, a good choice by our organiser. I highly recommend for quick simple food.

Always used to come here for their afternoon sundaes however they have put the price up so much now £10.95! So not worth it. Also we waited nearly an hour for 4 sundaes and when I enquired the response was rather rude no apology just a grunt and a we’ve been very busy reply. Shan’t be going there again !

Lovely staff, good portions of food and an amazing menu of ice cream sundaes made to perfection. It is self service to order than your food is delivered to your table with a smile. The prices are not too expensive and pleased to say they accept cash or cards.

Attending an event at the nearby Wintergardens this made an ideal spot to call and grab a spot of breakfast before starting the day. Great friendly staff, excellent coffee which is a must, and super surroundings. A great selection of everything by the looks of things, so should have something for everyone's taste.

Been there before and everything was ok, Been there today and the food I had to eat was terrible, I ordered poached eggs on toast, the eggs were stone cold and hard yolk nothing like poached eggs, my friend had paninne and was so hard and could not finish her meal. Don't think that we will choose it again

This place is outstanding, we have just had the steak pie, which was absolutely delicious and it is just like my mum used to make, very tasty and well worth the money. The staff are extremely friendly and polite I totally recommend this place me and my husband will definitely be visiting again, thankyou Favo`Loso 👍

We were tipped off about trying out this place, so after visiting the air show, wandered round to find this. Judging by the long line of people waiting to order, they must be doing something right. It's famous for its giant ice cream based sundaes, so the wife decided on a cherry liqueur based one but I decided to opt for the scampi, chips and salad, as the crab had finished for the day by then! Wouldn't say this was cordon bleu type food but nice enough and a definite must for families with younger children, which I guess is what it's really aimed at. Very popular and only just enough tables for everyone being catered for but maybe because of the airshow it was busier than usual?

We decided to have a late breakfast before watching the air show. We ordered a full English and some toast, and the other member of our party ordered theirs just after us. We were told that the fried egg on the full breakfast could not be swapped for scrambled egg, even though this was a dietary request - apparently the kitchen were too busy to be able to do this ! Scrambled egg is on the menu so hardly a difficulty especially when it was a dietary request, really poor reason for not being able to accomodate this. We also had to wait ages for breakfast, infact the order placed after us was given before ours, and by the time we got breakfast the drink had all been drunk. We received half the breakfast and had to ask where the rest was to be informed it was just coming, several minutes later. The breakfasts were cold and strangely the toast had already been buttered and more butter had been given as well. Usually toast is given plan and the customer can then determine how much butter they want to add. Eccles cake was also very dry and inedible. Very disappointed with the whole experience.

While walking by the sea front, I wanted to treat my children to ice cream. So we went to Favoloso, this was a big mistake and the quality of the products are definitely not worth paying the price. 4 single scoops of ice cream did cost us £17 pound. Unacceptable, Unbelievable! I refused to pay and wanted to leave, however I could not explain this to children. £17 for 4 single scoops of ice cream.

At a time when the most modest cafe offers non dairy milk options it was disappointing to be abruptly told by your staff that no oat milk was available. You lost customers but never mind we found another nice cafe with friendlier staff.

We were in Eastbourne for the tennis. Conveniently located for Devonshire Park opposite the theatre. Great menu to choose from. Quick efficient service. Lovely ice cream to finish off a freshly cooked meal.

We were looking for a place for lunch near the Convention Centre/Theatre and came across this restaurant, it was very busy, so we decided to try. The selection of food and cakes etc was overwhelming, but we managed to decide on what to eat. We had and cream Cheese Bagels that came warm with two crispy hash browns each and the Granddaughter had a vegetarian meal which she said was good. Drinks were three cokes. Total bill £37.40. Have to say it was very popular so therefore food is good, we were more than happy with ours.

I had called up a few days before and spoke to "Thai" as I wanted to reserve 2 of there cod. I had offered to pay over the phone as well but was told there was no need to. I did want to talk to the jady owner but couldn't remember get name. The staff know me as I frequently go in here with 3 of my grandchildren for ice cream after school. Something the grandkids and I do eat her as well as a treat as the grandkids want the fish and chips and got 3 of you it's £45!! Plus £21 for 3 ice creams not a cheap eat out at all. Do when my friend and I arrived on the 17 th October for our fish and chips that we had looked forward to all day I explained to the girl that served me that I fad 2 cod reserved with This a few days ago she told me they had sold out of cod. She must have seen from my face that I wasn't happy at all. Then the owner the lady came over told me the hitl I fad spoken to gad been if sick since when ever but not really the point she says sorry but I felt she didn't hear it it's just 5 letters that don't mean anything to her. I replied that this Thai should be fired as she lost the shop £15.95 X 2 plus any extras on top. Again didn't seem at all bothered. She did say we gave a big menu you can choose something else . But I didn't want anything else we wanted the fish and chips we had looked forward to all day. So my friend and I walked out and went to a fish and chip shop further up the road . We both had medium fich and chips that was much cheeper and just as nice. So NO I won't be going back there for my 'go to' fish and chop restaurant in Eastbourne!! I don't know the name of the the new go to but will find out so I can leave a review

Best cafe in Eastbourne. Come here regularly. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or ice cream you will never be disappointed. Lovely family run establishment where you always feel welcome.

Bad quality food. Salad had slimy green lettuce when shown to the staff they said it was just trimmings and they did not replace the salad . No apologies offered . When I made a complaint I was faced with rudeness from all the staff and they refused to let me speak to the manager or the owner of the restaurant. The person I spoke to slammed the phone down on me . I vow I will never go to this restaurant again or recommend them to family and friends. Very bad experience. It had made me very sad to be treated in such a way .

We went for Brunch and have visited many times before. We had poached eggs on toast but the eggs were over cooked and not runny so this was disappointing. Cheese scone was dry and hard and not really very nice. Tables and menus could do with be a bit cleaner and the floor needed vacuuming. It was fairly busy being a Saturday but not up to the usual standard.

The food was tasty and the menu extensive, both meals and dessert. The guys bringing meals were very polite and friendly. The counter staff were not to the same standard. On our 3rd visit it was very quiet and within 1hr of closing, found the counter staff disappointing. I asked for a glass of water with the other drinks on each visit, but this time got 1/2 a small plastic cup slammed down on the counter. If it had been our 1st visit it would be the last. It would be nice if the menus were wiped down. Can't deny the meals were fine which was the main thing

Been craving a Knickorboker Glory for ages. Really enjoyed my indulgence. Well worth the calories and the pound notes.

I am 60 years old with a disabled wife. I visited with her and my son. We ordered drinks and meals. We received the drinks ok but were still waiting for the food more than an hour later. The food never arrived. The manager gave me a refund but only for the food. We insisted we should have a full refund which most restaurants would do by way of an apology but this was refused. Instead of being embarrassed and sympathetic towards us for having messed up our order, various staff members came out from behind the counter ordering us to leave, one guy saying he'd give us 3 seconds to go! We had every right to be annoyed by their failure to give us our food and to expect some recompense but received hostility and aggressive behaviour instead. I can only say that if you eat there,you'll be treated very poorly if the staff mess up. Avoid the place.

Love this place and after several years returned to find it was just as good ! After a long walk ,so pleased to return here and had wonderful fish and chips ,fish finger sandwich and delicious ice cream to follow .Perfect. The service was excellent and friendly .Even the weather was kind and we sat outside on the pavement of this quiet road.

Somewhere between a British cafe and an Italian trattoria. I was there on a very busy morning (due to the Eastbourne tennis tournament). Food is simple but good - I had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and salad, service very good. They managed our expectations by telling us food would be slower than usual, but it still arrived in good time. The coffee and walnut cake was excellent. If you are staying in a hotel in Eastbourne, don't have hotel breakfast, but come to Favo'Loso instead. If you are in Eastbourne for a beach day with family and kids, it is a great place to have a quick, no fuss lunch. It is a large cafe, that could use an update, but with good food and service I think they have their priorities right.

I was totally impressed by this place, perfect for cooling down on an overheated day! Staff were pleasant and helpful, and my banana and coconut ice cream was of premium quality. Well worth the walk and the price!

My wife and I called here for coffee recently while in Eastbourne. We were on our way to meet friends for dinner and I immediately wished we were eating here. The menu looked fabulously homely and well priced, the waiter was super friendly and efficient and the decor like nothing else I've seen. I will certainly go back for something more substantial than coffee next time.
