Came for a light lunch today .. The light meals on offer were very limited as there had been delivery problems. The food was awful .. thick dry ciabattas with hardly any filling….

I booked a table for 8 on 13th December for a work Xmas lunch as the Christmas menu looked good. When we arrived we were told that we could not order from the Xmas menu as we had not pre-ordered. No-where on their website, or in the booking process, said that pre-ordering food was needed, even though I had said it was for a Christmas lunch. The waitress said there was nothing they could do and that we could only choose from the regular menu, which was not festive & not very interesting. I checked their website, and booking process, to be sure that I hadn't missed anything, but there was absolutely nothing to say we needed to pre-order. Had it not been the only date we could all do, we would have left and rearranged our Xmas do, but it was this or nothing so we stayed. We were all disappointed - we had an okay but nothing special meal, and I then paid almost £300 for the experience. I emailed afterward to complain and suggest that they make it clear on their website, or when ordering, that pre-ordering food is required and I have had no response. I guess after 2 months I'm not going to get a response either. Very disappointing and next year we will go back to The Cricketer's Arms (Berwick) instead as the price is comparable but the food & staff are much, much better.

My partner and I visited yesterday, 2nd Feb, for Sunday lunch. From the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised at the decor, very much an olde worlde pub. We were served drinks by very friendly bar staff and when we mentioned that we had booked to dine they offered to show us our table and if it was suitable. We initially sat on a comfortable sofa before making our way to the table and within minutes a member of the waiting staff brought a menu. We decided to have the mixed meat Sunday roast, with a side order of cauliflower cheese. We both agreed that the lunch was stunning, the meats were tender, and the whole meal was piping hot. However, as someone who likes a lot of gravy, I had to ask if I could have more, which was happily supplied. By the end of the meal, we were so full that we decided not to have a dessert. However, a singer and acoustic guitarist called the Spooky Wagons started performing, what a treat!! The music complemented the afternoon and finished off a perfect lunch. We will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I called in at 2.00 Friday. Busy, we were put in the annex. Service was good and friendly. I had the Duck. Well cooked on a bed of Butterbeans..lots of Butterbeans with a Chorizo and tomato sauce. Sauce was really bland the Chorizo (Dulche) in slices, pea sized might have helped spread the flavour. Spinach. My wife had the Fish and Chips. Freshly cooked but the fish, Cod, was the tail and you can't batter and fry that cut and keep the thin piece of fish from being dry and the batter crisp. Great Tartar sauce. Chips, lots of bits. Can't see me returning.

The landlady and her team simply could not do enough to ensure my son and his gorgeous new wife had the most glorious & magical wedding day. The head chef created two magnificent wedding buffets, It certainly was a feast. Working together with the landlady & Chef to create everything within our budget. Allowing us free reign to decorate, although the venue already has ample rustic charm that lends itself as a wedding venue. The whole team assisted in anyway that was needed, even providing refreshments to keep us going during set up and takedown.Everyone was just so friendly & helpful. The communication with Emma the landlady was spot on with every step, friendly & accommodating, from planning to execution. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend ' The Farm' Friday Street as a wedding reception venue, fabulous Sunday roasts with acoustic sessions, a great meeting place with friends and family. You will be given a warm welcome for sure. I can not thank them enough.

A glass of very mediocre wine was £6.20 the cheapest, a packet of crisps was £1.30 and a small child’s coke was £3. ! At five glasses to the bottle this equates to £31 for the bottle which zi doubt cost £5. We looked at the food menu, basic ordinary starters and mains are ridiculously high, cheaper in some proper restaurants, needless to say we declined to eat and left, We will not be returning to any Revived Inns public houses. Whist I appreciate that prices and costs have risen and places are closing many of them I’m sure because places like this are putting people off. Really good value. Service quick. Food good for the price, bearing in mind this is a pub , not a restaurant. Menu varied and surely something for everyone. Can't go wrong for a few pints and bite to eat if you find yourself peckish.

Upstairs in C@H. I had a lovely slice of coffee cake and a pot of tea. Perfect for a quick pitstop. Very reasonable price. Friendly service, background music catering for trad style tearooms, but not too intrusive. Tables clean. Not at all hurried.
