Fatboys Caffe in Gedling

Called into Arnold and decided to treat ourselves to a cooked breakfast, so dropped into Front Street Café, just up from Asda. Ordered the classic breakfast with a fried slice at £6.50. It was very tasty, not greasy, lovely sausages, and a great portion. And the tea was especially nice, which isn't always the case in some cafés. The café soon became busy as it was already lunchtime. The interior was welcoming, clean and inviting, with a friendly lady serving. Will definitely call in again when next in Arnold Centre, based on our experience today. (The only downside, and hence only 4 stars, was the condition of the toilet, which needed some serious attention.)

I love this place for a decent breakfast. It's really hard to get a good full breakfast these days but these do a great one. We went in today, with my kids and the food was perfect as always. The staff are always friendly, no matter how busy they are. This is our go to place when we have breakfast in Arnold and probably will be if it continues. I will mention, if you have a pushchair, it's fine if you're the only pushchair in the restaurant but it gets a bit tricky if there's more than one as they block the aisles. Other than that, thank you guys.

Llamado aquí 10 am ish para un desayuno, el lugar estaba ocupado, pedimos y pagamos en la caja registradora y nos trajeron la comida. La comida era su desayuno grasiento medio de cuchara y había mucho, la mejor parte de todo era el precio definitivamente barato.

Un amigo me trajo a este restaurante (tuvo que irse). Ordenar fue muy fácil y la señora que lo dirige fue realmente agradable. La tortilla de champiñones que tuve fue muy agradable y se entregó tan rápido como podría cocinarse. Las patatas fritas estaban calientes y crujientes, y la ensalada estaba realmente fresca. Me alegraría ir de nuevo.

Only popped in because I was on the go and had a busy day and it was actually really yummy. The staff were really nice too. Recommend popping in if you get chance. The out dated decor is a little off putting, but it's nice food and pretty cheap!!

On the main Arnold High Street. Car park next to Asda to rear, free 2 hours. Friendly staff. Nothing fancy, wooden tables & chairs etc. Proper mug of tea. Good quality breakfast for the price. I had the standard ‘1’ breakfast at £4:90. Value for money. Well cooked. Would visit again.

Tried this place on the recommendation of a local and would certainly go back. The choice of menu was astonishing, the portion sizes legendary, the staff friendly and value for money excellent. We were there on a quiet midweek day but business was good and little wonder! For just over £5 my partner got a very generous slice of beautiful home made steak pie with enough chips and peas for 3 people, while I had the most well-filled omelette I have ever seen. Even the hot drinks were made with greater care than in most cafes and my side salad was done with flair as well as originality. I do wonder how the portion size can be cost-effective but would urge locals to support this small business rather than one of the bland chains that are diminishing the local character of our high streets. The cafe's name does not do justice to it's nature but the owner seems committed to her business and deserves success.

You name it, they have it. staff friendly portions are massive on breakfasts so be carefull No fancy slate plates or artisan bacon sandwiches that cost £7.00 just proper food

tried this place for to try there menu found the place kept nice and clean the food was ample and well cooked and presented would return the prices very good.

Came here today with my family was amazing the food was just what I fancied very good portion sizes very tasty indeed. I asked for a milkshake for my little boy and they put it in a fancy glass jar with a straw. The staff were so friendly. I've already been recommending this cafe to my friends.

If your hungry go in here portions really huge all meals are served quickly and always hot if your like me and like your bacon crispy or well done they will do that for you. Reccomended

Large portions. Friendly, welcoming staff. Great value. Kids love their ice cream milkshakes. Could do with better sausages.

A very friendly place you are made very welcome and the food is great and you get plenty of it and at a very good price,so do not go in if you are not hungry as you will be surprised at the size of the portions.WELL RECCOMENDED

very good reasonably priced excellent selection and generous portions hence the name, food served freshly cooked.

Went here for lunch, they have chalk boards all round the cafe with pictures of meals they offer. they offer everything from a plate of toast to a full cooked Sunday lunch, you get real value for money. The portions are huge and you may struggle to finish them, but you will never hungry, May be the only meal you need to eat the day you go there. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Has a nice friendly and relaxed feeling.

Great café food, great prices, huge portions (even for the small breakfast), and the nicest and most welcoming staff and owners there could be. We eat here every week and can't fault it.

The breakfasts are great here. Amazing prices yet such large portions! I am sure there will be someone that says the food is cheap, its not, but for such good prices please dont expect farmshop sausages etc.You also get a drink included in your breakfast price (hot drink or orange juice). Also included is toast or bread & butter. There is a wide variety of options for breakfast so its good for picky people like me that only like certain things.My boyfriend had the biggest breakfast they did and it was well worth the money, he got loads!The actual premises is outdated and nothing to look at but PLEASE dont let that put you off. The staff are super friendly and made a real effort with us and its extremely clean.I would certainly go back again.

We regularly eat at Fatboys. Staff are very friendly and organised. Food is excellent value, salads/paninis delicious as is most of the food. Portions are huge but if you can't manage it all they will box it up for you to take home.

Today I went with 2 of my children , this was my 3rd visit ....and my children's favourite place to eat now ...even rather go here than McDonalds or KFC!! The milkshakes are amazing and for 1.30 more than value for money. The service is excellent , staff are so polite and attentive and child friendly ....the food is of excellent quality and for the price amazing value....and you would never leave here hungry as the portions are humungous ...an amazing place to eat and I shall definatleybbe reccomending to all my friends

this little cafe just great nothing fancy just good food at a very reasonable price,in centre of arnold front street.not one of those eat all you can at a price, its very hard to eat all the lady puts on your plate and its very good inc tea or coffee all good wholesome quality food.

The service is second to none, greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival, who then offered to get us a drink whilst we chose from one of the most extensive and impressive menus Ive ever seen! From great big hearty breakfasts to pasta, lasagne, chili and suchlike, to traditional home cooked roast dinners, and many many more! The prices are fantastic for the amount of food you get, which is great quality. The cafe is clean, has a nice ambience and comfortable seating. Just cannot fault it and we will definitely be back.

Previously i had normally dodged the normal greasy spoons in favour for more branded fast food establishments but after being introduced to Cafe's whilst working in London where it is more socially acceptable for all types of people to use them I thought I’d give it a go closer to home.I recently went to Fat Boys Caffe on front Street in Arnold after I needed to kill some time with my 6 year old Son.We were warmly welcomed in by the owner, sat and chose the set 2 breakfast (2 x bacon, jumbo sausage, 2 x fried eggs, chips, 2 x slices of toast and a mug of tea) for myself and my Son had the Banana Milkshake which I’m sure was made with ice cream. My food was £4.80 and my Son's milkshake was £1.30.Whilst my Son was drinking his milkshake which tasted really good, the waitress topped it up with the remaining milkshake from in the blender which couldn't originally fit in his glass, nice touch.Whilst there; I noticed a number of regulars popping in and out as well as a couple of contractors and families, all were given the same warm welcome.What was also refreshing was their attitude to children; they were attentive to me and my son.The potion size for what I had was very bog and more than enough for me and my little fella to share. My son couldn’t finish all of his milkshake so they put it into a takeaway cup., again i thought was a nice touch.I the last couple of days I have recommended the cafe to friends, family and my wife who is a childminder.I am genuinely looking forward to going again soon.

We have been using this café since soon after it opened, and are constantly impressed by the fantastically high food quality, the really wonderful value of all the meals and drinks and the Brilliantly warm and friendly service you receive from all staff members. If anyone is looking for a nice sized, tasty meal and drinks for good value prices, Fatboy Caffe Arnold isthe place to come. I can't recommend it highly enough.

If you’re not one for lunch and dinners then you need a real hearty breakfast and that’s exactly what you’ll get at Arnold’s (Nottingham) Fatboys Café – open from 7am. I was amazed at the size of the full plate and the value plus the genuine friendly welcome was a real bonus. If you’re not into eating breakfasts out then no worries, they offer a truly exceptional range of lunch and dinners too and their milk shakes are to die for! Fatboys is a café definitely on my “to go again” list.
