Ordered on the app it failed, then had to go and order at the kiosk. When food arrived it tasted like the oil for the fried chicken burger wasn’t clean, everything was cold and the meat was dry. This cost a lot of money for what it was and it was awful. Don’t order here. The manger at Komune is cool and helpful but the food was dire.

Rude staff. One eye rolled at me and they frankly did not care about the customers paying their wages. Burger itself was nice, and delivery was efficient but the staff really need to work on customer service.

I’ve eaten at Fat Hippo before and have enjoyed the food previously. This time around the burger wasn’t great, with tough bits in the beef. Fries also very average. I like Kommune and don’t like leaving a negative review. Need to be honest though, the quality of the food needs to be better.

Went with my university for a meal….the burger was absolutely disgusting 🤮 it actually tasted and smelled like a real life cow in the fields! I am sure this place is a public health issue…avoid eating from here like COVID 19! When leaving saw the bar staff using their fingers to put lemon slices into drinks after handling money! 🤮🤮🤮

Told they were closed after 25 min wait and got nothing. So rude!! Spoke to me like dirt, didn’t care at all. Disgusting!!

I'm literally sat here right now after not finishing the burger I have just been served. Short back story, I haven't had dairy in nearly 9 months due to breastfeeding a milk intolerant baby, so to say that first dairy filled meal I've had in that time was disappointing is an understatement. Go classic American, you can't go wrong surely, but how wrong I was. Firstly £11.50 was the price for the burger with a side of fries, upgrade to dirty fries for an extra £1.50, yes please. It took about 25 minutes to come which if they're cooking from fresh, you can excuse to some degree. The food came... the displeasure started. Let's start with the burger. The meat was incredibly dry, compensated with a ridiculous amount of cheap tasting Tomato ketchup, pickles the size of a house which made the bread soggy. I love pickles but there was more pickle than burger. It wasn't even hot. The fries were your generic frozen French fries that were stone cold when they arrived, the dirty fries were latterly just smothered in a mayonnaise based nonsense, and if you closed your eyes and was told to identify the presence of bacon, I think anyone would struggle. One of the worst meals for price. I don't go to McDonald's at all, the last time I went I was about 21 and it was the result of too many pints and not a lot of options. I can honestly say that I would rather have eaten at McDonald's because it was exactly the same but with a pretentious coat on. £13 for what I wouldn't have charged £5 for is ridiculous. This place needs closing down and making room for someone who actually knows how to cook. Avoid at all costs unless you like wasting your money and have no taste buds.

Avoid ordering online !!!!! Waited over 2 hours to find out our order had been delivered according to deliveroo but there was no food in sight so now having to wait up to 10 days for a refund absolutely disgusting avoid at all costs . Clearly can't take orders and follow through with the delivery.

Fat hippo's social media manager is amazing, present the food so great and tasty and juicy. But the burger was awful, the beef was tasteless and cheap! a burger from McDonald's would have been much tastier and definitely cheaper! Did not enjoy a single moment of eating this burger and awful experience overall.

The 'burger' and fries turned up cold and wouldn't have been any better if they were hot. It was not only far worse than any of the well known burger chains, it was worse than any backstreet fast food grot hole I've ever eaten at. I ordered it as 'no brioche' expecting that this would mean the burger would be served on an appropriate bun instead of between two slices of sweet, buttery cake in accordance with the mystifying current fashion. Instead, the two tasteless lumps of cold mince came without any bread at all. All they had to cover them was great dollops of eye wateringly acidic tomato ketchup, some indiscernible yellow slop and numerous slices of gherkins. The cold fries could have come from any budget frozen food supermarket and the 'purple slaw' had no distinguishing flavour whatsoever. I'd like to say something positive about getting £10 knocked off my first Deliveroo order but given that I still paid eight quid for this rubbish, it's impossible to not feel badly ripped off. If I'd paid £18, I'd feel like taking legal action. I don't think I'd eat the same thing again if I they paid me twice that. This awful place needs to close down soon.

Terrible. 2 missing items. Soggy cold burger. Undercooked soggy fries. Don’t bother. Really disappointing and won’t order from here again.

Whilst eating the chicken burger last night I found a piece of plastic in my burger. Then obviously stopped eating it as I was then slightly put off my food. Spoke to a waitress at Kommune who said she would speak to the vendor. She came back to confirm that is was a corner from a plastic storage bag they used. She then said she could offer me a new burger. I was no longer hungry and my friend had already finished eating, when I said that I didn’t want more food she apologised and left. Only when speaking to the hostess at the entrance on the way out did she explain that we could go through the app to ask for a refund as public aren’t aloud to go up to the vendors at the moment due to COVID. Ridiculous, that I have to ask for a refund when I didn’t eat my food as I found plastic in it, even after they’ve confirmed to me what kind of plastic it is ! Also, it would not have usually bothered me but the dirty waffles I ordered where curly fries, if you don’t have something in stock why not make a note of it on the app or don’t serve it ? Will not be eating with them again.

We’ve had a number of take outs via Deliveroo from here over the last year. Our favourites are the born slippy, American and fat hippo. We love that you can get gluten free versions and the taste is always amazing. On our first take out we were disappointed that the chips were cool, but we’d missed the notice on the order that recommend you heat them up for a few minutes on arrival. We love the sweet potato chips and Cajun fries. Can’t comment on the hi ken burgers but we’ve never been disappointed with the beef burgers we have had. Thanks for the tasty treats through lockdown Fat Hippo!

This looked like a fancy fried chicken. This wasn’t even close. Will stick to kfc next time. Could even get half way through it. The crispy beer batter bites were soggy and fell apart, The chicken burger was rock hard and dry, even the coleslaw didn’t save it. Best part of the delivery was the coke in a glass bottle. £23 wasted!!

I am extremely saddened writing this review. After visiting Fat Hippo in Kommune and absolutely loving it, i was disappointed tonight after ordering a takeaway via Deliveroo. We ordered a chicken burger and a beef, The burgers themselves were over cooked (chicken over fried). Lacked seasoning and fries were soggy and dry (even after the suggested oven cooked time with a delivery). My issue is this... you order a burger from a standard take out place with fries and it comes to £8-10 for both. We paid £32 for 2 burgers and fries...plus delivery and service... now for £32 you would want restaurant quality. I get that it’s lockdown and delivery but the food we received was unfortunately not even close to the standard we have come to expect from Fat Hippo at Kommune. Sorry Fat Hippo, if you can’t replicate quality, don’t charge the same.... will not be ordering again for takeout.

Orderd for delivery. It arrived on time but the chips were cold and the coke was room temperature. I asked for no vegan cheese on my burger and got vegan cheese on it so my burger just tastes like vegan cheese which I really don't...

Premium burgers at a premium price. I’d have no issues eating in as the food is generally tasty and worth the price, but our recent delivery experience was far from premium. Two hours from order to delivery with a meal missing, and no attempt made...

Burgers have been just amazing, so fresh, so good, the best in sheffield in my opinion! Definitely gonna get back there.

Usually don't particularly see the fuss about burger places, but Fat Hippo is a definite exception! Another one just opened in the Lane 7 bowling alley on the Moor. Would definitely recommend.

Everything much so well.Hangover burger is just out of this world. It is no words to explaining that beast. For sure will cone back soon.

Service was good with helpful staff, especially when staff said that fries were included in the price of the burger. Wild Bill Burger and dirty fries hit the spot (£1.50 upgrade). Will visit again

Very nice and I would say it’s worth the money but certainly not cheap. Definitely enjoyed it, Waffle fries were really good!

Visited here with work colleagues on a lunch time. Service was friendly and speedy and food came quick. The burgers were out of this world, everyone said the same. Mine was the PB&J (yes peanut butter?!) total game changer! Already made plans to come back...

The chips were great, the sauce was great. Meat and buns could use some work for the price. Meat was dry and buns were mildly stale. Would buy again in hope it's better than the last time though.
