Great place with lots of choice. Great choice for vegetarians and I love the way they let you choose which side to have with your burger.

The burger and fries were both delicious however as you can see from the photo the portion of fries was pathetic. I'll never understand why places are so stingy with their fries. A nice full bowl of fries would have made this a 5 star experience and guaranteed my return, but the half full bowl just annoyed me and I'll probably try somewhere else next time.

Staff ignore you until you eventually leave and go to another restaurant. Strange business.

Dreadful. Been to the one in Newcastle so was expecting the same positive experience. Quite the opposite. Service woeful, food took 45 mins due to some sort of "issue" in the kitchen. Uber Eats / Deliveroo people banging about in and out letting cold air in. Felt more like a takeaway than a restaurant. One particular member of staff just simply did not want to be there. Made the whole experience quite uncomfortable.... anyway.. never again. :)

A Disastrous Dining Experience: Terrible Service at Fat Hippo (Glasgow) My recent visit to Fat Hippo in Glasgow has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated, turning what was supposed to be a special occasion into a complete disaster. The evening was marred by abysmal service, a lack of communication, and an overall disregard for customer satisfaction. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, it was evident that something was amiss. The atmosphere was chilly, not just in temperature but in demeanor as well. The door remained constantly ajar due to Uber Eats drivers loitering outside, smoking without any intervention from the staff. This not only made the dining area uncomfortably cold but also compromised hygiene standards. Despite enduring the freezing temperatures, our patience wore thin as we waited over an hour and a half for our food with no updates or apologies from the waiting staff. It wasn't until I approached them to inquire about our order that we received any semblance of acknowledgment. Even then, the response was lackluster and indifferent. To compound matters, it was evident that the kitchen staff were overwhelmed, as we witnessed numerous Uber Eats orders being dropped and hastily packaged for delivery, compromising the quality of the food. When we attempted to request additional items such as sauce or drinks, we were met with blatant disregard and treated as though we were inconveniencing the staff. When the bill finally arrived, we were incredulously asked if we intended to leave a tip, despite the deplorable service we had endured. Unsurprisingly, our entire group unanimously declined. As for the food itself, it was nothing short of disappointing. My chicken burger arrived cold, with the batter tasting stale and old. The accompanying chips were equally cold and lacked any semblance of freshness. In a final act of frustration, we decided to cut our losses and seek refuge elsewhere, opting for Five Guys instead. The contrast in service and quality was stark, serving as a painful reminder of the dismal experience we had just endured at Fat Hippo. In conclusion, I am utterly dismayed by the appalling service and overall experience at Fat Hippo. The staff's lack of professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy left much to be desired. It is evident that significant improvements are needed, not only in the operational aspects but also in fostering a culture of customer-centricity. Regrettably, I have no intention of returning, and I would caution others against subjecting themselves to such an ordeal..

Bad experience! We weee recommended this place, after talking about its nice atmosphere, the manager who delivered our food, came to our take with a attitude and threw out trays on the table, then threw the sauce bottle down. We mentioned it to the server, the manager came to apologise however the excuse being ‘I’m dealing with a difficult situation in the kitchen and I’m a bit off’ I explained what happens in the kitchen shouldn’t affect the customers. Nice burger however I don’t want to be treated like that again m so won’t be back

We had "dinner" at the restaurant for date night. Our table was booked for 1730 and wasn't ready for us, so we had a 10 min wait, of which we had to stand off to the side like a couple of spare pr*cks. The waitress that seated us was great and flawless throughout our short time there (although she did seem like the only member staff actually working hence the 1* for service) the other 2 staff members on seemed completely in a daze and incompetent. We ordered the Wachos to start which arrived cold and the nice waitress (sorry I didn't get her name) solved straightway and they were decent. We then had to wait 10-15 for our starters to be taken away as the waitress seemed like she was hosting the whole floor on her own taking orders, making drinks, seating people (it was busy), our mains arrived quickly after but the quality for the burgers was dreadful, a McPlant from Maccies would have been nicer and that's saying something. All in all a real disappointment for what should have be a quality little dinner date. Also having Uber eats cycle dudes stood in the doorway constantly, lowers the atmosphere of the restaurant and made it very cold and uncomfortable place to sit. I would definitely not recommend.

I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the experience. The burgers were not just huge but tasted as incredible as they looked. Starting with the wings, they were spot on, especially with the delightful BBQ sauce. The menu offers a wide variety of chicken and beef burgers to choose from, ensuring there's something for everyone. Sure, devouring these burgers gets messy, but that's all part of the fun! I regret not capturing the beauty of these burgers in photos, but trust me, they're worth every messy bite.

Lovely friendly staff, I requested a quieter part of the restaurant for my son who has sensory needs which was accommodated, the food was great, service was spot on and a lovely atmosphere. We've been meaning to try this place for ages so glad we did, we will be back

Guy with glasses who works front of house has some amount of arrogance for someone in a burger restaurant. Needs a bit of manners and a reality check.

Been here a few times now and the food is just incredible! Ordered a PB&JJ burger and even though I’ve had this a few times I will never tire of eating it, the combo of peanut butter & a burger is just so clever! Those onion rings are so worth the money as well! Fabulous flavour, and they are huge! 🤣 just wanna also say I had fabulous service from Rebecca! So lovely, made sure we were satisfied, very much appreciated her comment about my nails too 🤣 please make sure she sees this her service was so lovely!

I asked about a cocktail on their online menu, but was no longer done in-store, but went out their way to say I could get the cocktail as they still had the ingredients. They didn't have to do that, but they did, which was amazing of them to do, that is amazing customer service down to a T.

My partner and I were looking for somewhere new to try for food that wasn't you're standard food and so after a bit of searching around we eventually decided to go to the Fat Hippo. (Thank god) The menu wasn't all over the place it was short and sweet but still had plenty of options to choose from. We had a starter each (Wachos & Wings) and by the way we started off we knew instantly it was getting the thumbs up. For our main My partner had a double buttermilk fried chicken burger and I had the Fat Hippo burger which had a double smash patty and other toppings. Service was amazing and fast, our server Rachael could not have been nicer. We both highly recommend this place to all and we will certainly be back again!

Food was excellent, the burgers are unbelievably good. Service was friendly and effective, and the prices were very reasonable. The only issue was that one of the portions of hand cut chips was overcooked, bad enough to not finish but not bad enough to send them back.

The food was absoultey amazing the lady who served our table was pretty rude, she came to ask if we were finished twice in the space of 15 minutes when my friend was clearly still eating, the second time we did say yes as felt rushed and pressured into giving up our table.

Our order got mixed up, wings were undercooked, 35min for the burgers, folks who came later got served earlier. Patty was so so. Not coming back.

Had a good dinner here, burgers and sides were great. We were seated in the basement in a corner which was quite cold. Overall the service was good with the server being very helpful but the dessert took ages to come little and was a the only real disappointment. The ‘Cherry Baked Well’ had only a tiny amount of biscoff at the bottom and was primarily a really dark cherry flavoured goo. I’m still not convinced it was made correctly it was so bad.

Food was okay but the practical design of the restaurant is awful. It’s a tiny space and there’s no buffer between the restaurant and the doors to the outside. Every time someone came in or left, a freezing breeze was let in, sometimes for minutes at a time as there’s no space for more than 2 people to stand at the pos point. Staff were attentive, trying to close the door quickly but that shouldn’t be part of anyone’s job. The temperature drop was very distracting and ultimately ruined our time. There are more vegan options than competing burger places but until this issue is sorted, I couldn’t recommend this particular branch to anyone.

Very tasty burgers with excellent crispy sides. The PB&JJ burger was very unusual and delicious and the Frickles (fried pickles) were absolutely stellar. The dirty tater tots are also very delicious.

Burger was good, went Swiss. Fried pickles were soggy and luke warm by the time they arrived. Chips are fine!

Visited on a recent trip to Glasgow and it was a very good experience overall. I had the classic style of burger in the form of the American and it was excellent. Well-seasoned beef on a robust bun with a side of fantastic tater tots I could just polish off a bowl of. My partner had the same burger with a side of terrific onion rings. Service was notably good with staff being super friendly to us and tables nearby, as well as knowledgeable about the product

Bad experience using deliveroo, forgot sauces and even forgot the buffalo sauce on the buffalo burger very disappointing

on entry, rude member of staff in the door demanded we moved in and shut the door. she gave no reason for this and therefore made me and my colleagues uncomfortable, because we felt like we were unwanted and blocking the work flow. following this, we had a nice tall brunette server who was understanding when we asked for more time to study the menu. another member of staff ripped the menu from my colleagues grasp. the food runner mumbled and gave attitude when giving my colleague there food. the food was not placed on the table, instead slammed with force into her clutch. the chips were also cold. not impressive!!!! and rushed us to pay the bill. despite this the burgers were satisfactory and filled our needs.

Really enjoyed our lunch. The burgers were burgers with a twist, and were very tasty.

The place to go if you wanna have a sloppy burger. My partner and I shared our burgers, with an american burger and a semi-parmed life burger. I personally enjoyed the chicken burger a lot more, I found the buttermilk chicken tender and crunchy. For the american burger, I usually prefer my patty to be juicier and more flavourful. Overall, it was a good experience.

First time coming to any of the fat hippos. As you would expect on a Saturday night near the end of November, it was pretty busy. There was plenty seats available downstairs but we were made to stand about near the bar which was getting a bit crowded with everyone else that was waiting to be seated. Admittedly there is a pane of glass between where everyone is herded up waiting to be seated and the nearest table, which ended up being the one we got sat at, but it feels like everyone is standing over you with all their outdoor clothes on whilst you are eating your meal. Service was fine and food was delicious as I expected it would be.

Went in here as we passed at 5:30 and it was busy enough for that time. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, attentive on allergen from the minute you speak to them at the door. The menu had plenty of choice on it and the service was quick, we only waited 10 minutes after ordering for food. The burger was awesome and this was my first visit, would return! 🍔
