the bald barista/barstaff was very rude when we asked if they was open stating “well you came through the doors didnt you?” staff member then proceeded to ignore us and make himself a coffee terrible service TEACH YOUR STAFF COMMON DECENCY AND CURTESY

Olly was excellent. Super service and very friendly. Food was great as always! Sports on show and plenty of room for everyone.

Well what can we say , great food ,quick service ,pleasant staff. We’ll definitely be coming again it’s a nice atmosphere and welcoming . Good choice of food on the menu thankyou !

Came in to fair maid yesterday, I had a hunters chicken and I have no complaints the staff member Alisha-May was very welcoming, amazing service managed to persuade us to a dessert after which was delicious. Will be returning soon X

Great selection of beer and cider. Lilleys is always great to find in a pub. Always show alot of different sport. And the ability to play your own music is great. Staff are always friendly especially Nathan and reese

Great food, pleasant staff, and the seating area, be it indoors or out. It always looks clean and fresh. Everything we've tried on the menu has always been very tasty and well presented. Not had a bad meal there🙂

The staff couldn't wait to get rid of customers before half ten and were cleaning up straight away. As far as I knew time was called at 11 o'clock. The food is always cold and a certain member of staff is rude.

Decent value food spoiled by surly & miserable service. We occasionally visit the restaurant and have always found the service to be friendly and welcoming. Therefore, was very disappointed to have the world's most miserable waitress and surly barman serve us today. Personally, if your job is that depressing you should get another one. A smile and manners cost nothing!!!!

Two friends out for tea and had 2 mains + 2 puddings and 2 drinks for £32-00. Teresa looked after us and made us welcome. Will come again. Thank you

Went past this pub many times and finally we decided to go in for dinner and a relaxing evening. The place is immaculate inside , the bar is well kept and looks inviting. The staff were pleasant and not overbearing. Loved their deal of 2 classics for £15 . Had the steak pie and the cheese and mac with a side salad . Food came within 15 minutes, very tasty and all in all had a relaxing evening. Definitely recommended and maybe we ll try their Sunday lunch soon

An impromptu visit by my husband and myself, so glad we did. Fantastic friendly staff on arrival, great choice of food and drinks with wonderful guest ales. Food was served quickly and was plentiful and very tasty. We will be back. Thanks.

Was “home home” for Christmas and brought my family here as a nice post Christmas treat. December 28th and they were taking down all the decorations! As in, during the day. It was bizarre. All staff looked like they were on a mission and miserable. Managers were not friendly in the slightest and it just ruined any festive atmosphere that everyone hoped. We arrived with decorations up and left 1.5hours later with the place bare and it just felt odd. Can’t quite explain it. Anyway. Food was ok. Not great but the whole time was pretty crap to be honest. Sorry to mention it again but, it wasn’t even new year!! Why finish Christmas when not everyone can get together before? Felt pretty embarrassed I brought people here.

Had a late appointment at Castle Hill Hospital, so called in for tea on way home. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they have 2 mains for £13.49. Hubby picked the Gammon, I had the Hunters Chicken, and although it didnt look much, it was very filling and tasted gorgeous. Saying that we thought the beer was expensive at £4.05 pint lagar. Will re visit though.

Always enjoying coming to the quiz night on Wednesdays at the Fair Maid. Sophie is always very welcoming and friendly, as are all the staff!

I rang on Thursday 25/1 to book a table for 12 for a birthday/retirement meal for Sat 27/1 and it was arranged without any issues.Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing everyone had a clean plate all staff were brilliant and I would highly recommend it.

Really great food in nice comfortable surroundings. Staff friendly and welcoming. Two of us had the Krakatoa burger - highly recommended!! Will be having that again for sure! My elderly father is a fussy eater but he tucked into his 8oz gammon steak on a sizzling plate and cleared the lot! Looked really succulent and thick, and came topped with pineapple and fried egg. £50 for 5 of us to eat decent meals (obviously drinks were extra), my only issue was the food could have just been a little hotter but it was still delicious.

Give this place a wide birth ! Me and my husband went last night for a meal, nice big pub and seemed like a nice place to eat. However when we ordered at the bar we waited 30 minutes for the drinks to come to the table as the bar maid who took our order carried on serving other customers. We ordered a chicken sharing platter, everything was dry and really hard , it had obviously been cooked and re-heated , it was awful. We left most of it . A few hours later we both started suffering with bad tummy ache and was both up and down all night vomiting! I will never eat or recommend this place for food … the service at the bar is awful too .

Came in and asked for ID which is fair enough. Paid via card and the QR code. Manager was rude and snotty when i asked for the payment to be refunded, didn't listen to what i've had to say and said I can't give you the pint back when I was asking for the money. Her attitude was poor and uncalled for

Visited Fair Maid for the Halloween Party and had an awesome experience! To say it was value for money was an understatement! Both kids had an amazing time, they had two hours of dancing, games and even a foam party as well as a full English breakfast and goodie bag. The adult food was really reasonably priced and tasted great. As per usual, the staff were really attentive and friendly. We will definitely be booking for all the themed kids parties in future.

Unfriendly staff who were not accommodating. Partner and i went in to watch rugby which was only on 2 of their many screens (other screens had F1 which no-one was watching) we tried to move a few chairs so we could watch which for some reason upset them and they rudely told us to move. We would have stayed and spent alot of money on food and drink after the match but went elsewhere at half time…..to a near by pub that happily let us squeeze in and found extra chairs etc

This pub is our regular and never fails to disappoint. It is a well loved pub with a variety of food and drinks. Food is amazing every time and never fails to impress. Staff are wonderful and friendly

Amazing staff got seated instantly treated like a celebrity, they took our order and within 15 minutes our food and it was gorgeous, I got the hunters chicken skillet whilst my partner got the chick and mix grill and the chicken was succulent and really juicy. The chips fried to crispy perfection couldn’t have asked for it to be any better. 100% would recommend amazing food and the staff are amazing.

Second rate food served by second rate staff , ordered 2 burger meals on their “ 2 for 1 “ deal to be informed that it didn’t cover the burgers we ordered after it had been placed , admittedly eventually saw it on menu in smallest writing but ordered anyway, burgers came and to say they were burnt would be a understatement, will I return, he’ll will freeze over first

Came here with my family. 1 hour wait for food. When finally got it, the onion rings had weird dots on,the corn on the cob felt weird, the chicken nuggets were hard and didn't even look like chicken nuggets, the chicken strips tasted like soap and the bbq sauce had bits in. Didn't even finish it gave the rest to my younger siblings. Terrible!

As a couple went in to watch the World Cup, we got a table easy enough but my partner has a bad back so I took the one from our table to a table just behind us and swapped it for one with a padded back Almost immediately a staff member (male and bald) picked up the stool I had just swapped and aggressively almost through it down at our table saying angrily that table is reserved and matched off. The people at the two tables next to us said staff are always rude like that. There was. no need for the aggressiveness there were loads of stools he could have just said would you mind getting one from another table as that one is reserved. As it turned out nobody ever used the stools at the reserved table. Won’t be going back there in a hurry if that is an example of staff behaviour.
