Factory Bar Kitchen in Torbay

Food was abundant but greasy and salty. In general it feels like food is just mistreated, the ribs in particular were carbonised... the nice detail of the spicy coleslaw was marred by it being three tablespoons. Service was ok.

Started off bad and got worse….we got seated and ask what we wanted to drink with no enthusiasm or uplifting tone. Waitress seemed bored and fed up. We were told to pay for our drinks now and not at the end of the meal…we stated that we were looking to have a meal here and we still have to pay for drinks there and then. When we ordered the food my partner’s burger sauce wasn’t in stock and we had to change the sauce as the order was already put through. We asked for it to be doubled up and it didn’t come out like that. When we told the waitress she got it added and said that we’ll need to pay for the extra burger at the end of the meal. Food was lovely, cooked well and presentation was good..burgers are quite greasy but nice. Front of house (waitering staff) really bring the place down. Very unhelpful and unmotivated. We won’t be going here again…shame because the decor reminded us of our time in the U.S.A

An order of a lukewarm hotdog, so cool that I didn't have to worry about burning myself, A what should of been premade Mocktail that I had to finish stirring myself, resulting in spilled ice and drink on the table, when asking staff for extra napkins was responded with a, "you'll get a napkin with the cutlery" I'm guessing there's a paper shortage for me to be unable to be given extra napkins when requested, yet when spoken back with the request of my order to not have coleslaw was still provided with a side of coleslaw. So I was given what I requested not to have and denied what was needed, sums up this place.

3 of us went had completely different orders and each meal was cooked to perfection chicken combo , hotdog, and chicken burger. Service was good and will definitely go again

Hostess was very nice and friendly. Hospitable and informative. Food was good apart from one issue about the corn cob which was rectified right away. Ribs are the main sell and posted outside but not available. Anyway.. beer are American.

I've lived in Paignton for years but hadn't been here until recently. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the grilled chicken burger and it was delicious! You can tell the ingredients used are quality. I don't know what they do to their burger buns but it was delicious! The chips are just right and the chicken was moist. The portion was more than enough. Loved sitting out the back on a sunny day 🌞

Reminds me of an old girlfriend. Looks nice from the outside but when you get in there its not what you would expect. Cheap and rubbish portions. Dirty fries were not dirty for the extra money. No BBQ sauce on the dirty fries or in my BBQ Chicken wrap!!! AVOID

Service was very good, staff lovely and this premises it dog friendly. We had a breakfast which was really tasty and lovely and warm. Would recommend this place to eat

Again we visited here in August and liked it, so we called in on saturday night for a couple of drinks,then we called in for food on the Sunday afternoon and it was really nice. The staff were friendly on both visits a nice place to go.

Visited just after lock down 1 ended. Nice welcome from the staff, everywhere nice and clean, ordered at the bar, mixed starters, steaks, burgers, chicken with chips and salad. plenty of good lovely food and great service. Beer, wine & soft drinks. Great for families, garden out the back, TV’s, pool table etc. Location good near sea front and tourist area.

Absolutely dreadful meal today. It was cheap produce cooked and served badly. That’s why you have to pay the bill first! Nobody checked if our meal was ok. Would never return! Overpriced dried out Iceland frozen food!! Avoid!!!

Visited on a morning for breakfast. On arrival walked in after signing a book with name, address & tel no. and made our way to an empty table. The venue wasn’t overly busy. Ordered two breakfasts at the bar, then waited and waited. The food eventually arrived 40 minutes later (minus toast which came 5 minutes later) and to be honest wasn’t worth the wait. The breakfast was far too greasy with parts of it not very warm. Probably wouldn’t return in the future.

We always visit this bar when in Paignton and we have never been disappointed, friendly staff, great food and drinks.

Overpriced food, thought it would be better to go elsewhere for the money. The food wasn’t great either for the cost. All 6 of us had very small portions and were not happy. There was one waiter that was lovely and asked if he could get us a dog bowl and the other waitresses that served us were annoyed that they had to make our milkshakes and then threw the cutlery towards us when she bought them out. No service with a smile or care for attention. Would not recommend.

Stopped here for lunch, the food was awful, and they did nothing when we complained. Avoid at all costs, lots of places to choose from, and this is one to avoid

We visited as a family of four, and as they had withdrawn from the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, the place was very quiet. However, the tables were arranged as they would be pre-Covid, with no more than a metre between groups.The table had a sheet of paper with a QR code to scan and fill out some track and trace details. No staff wore a mask or anything protective.Perhaps the group that came after we ordered and sat at the table right next to us assumed their table was an adequate distance away (or they have a much, much higher tolerance for risk than we do), but as they then pulled a chair round to sit even closer to our table (they had young children and buggies as well), there was / is absolutely no chance of groups keeping any sort of distance from one another if the table arrangements stay the way they are. The few other groups that we saw dining in sat much further away from one another.The food itself is distinctly average. We are unlikely to visit again.

Food was good, staff were very friendly, also enjoyed the cocktail very berry (not even heard of this before) would recommend this place.

Terrible service and mediocre food. After paying for it I was told there was an half an hour wait for food which turned out to be an hour wait for over priced and bland food. There were only couple of other tables eating so not sure why it too long. Argumentative staff etc. etc.

Absolutely awful place to eat, please please save your money and go elsewhere.Walked in and was not greeted or asked to leave any details (RE: COVID) so I chose a table and looked at the menu. On the face of it, it looks appealing, but the standard of the food is very, very low. I ordered at the bar and waited for our food to arrive. An hour passed by and still no food so I asked a waitress if she knew how long it may be (I normally hate doing this, but had waited an hour with two young kids getting bored). She carried on serving other customers before going to find out about our food, so another 10 minutes passed by. She then returned and asked what exactly we had ordered, so I gave her the list and she came back with 3 of the 4 meals. She then asked me what else had we ordered (obviously had forgotten the fourth meal I’d told her) so I asked her to explain exactly what was happening as surely there would be a receipt in the kitchen detailing the order. She told me that our order hadn’t been allocated to a table and so had just been left on the side in the kitchen. I can not understand why none of the kitchen staff or waitresses didn’t think to try and establish who the order was meant for?? Had I not of asked her where the order was we would probably still be waiting for it now!!She then appears with the fourth meal, a burger with chicken goujons on the side, except the chicken was missing. I told her the chicken was missing and she said “I don’t know what it’s meant to come with do I”. After storming off to the kitchen she reappears with some low budget, fried chicken dippers, the kind you get in a bag frozen from Iceland or Farmfoods. The burger wasn’t much better, tasting identical to the type you get from a burger van outside a football stadium and still slightly pink in the middle. The meals were all luke warm, after being left on the side for so long in the kitchen. Another waitress came over and asked if everything was ok (our first positive interaction of the visit). When we explained what had happened she became very defensive saying things like “well you’ve eaten most of so it can’t be that bad”. I think she could be either be a manager or some sort of owner because of her defensive attitude when we explained the poor service. She said that the other waitress was “very young and new” as if that makes everything ok! Overall this was a very poor experience, and I would say this place is similar to any large town centre weatherspoons but with worse food.

Do NOT visit here for the eat out to help out scheme, they are not a part of it anymore (although still on the government site of participating restaurants). They don’t even tell you, I had already paid when I saw a very little sign on the bar to say they had pulled out!Breakfast wasn’t even anything to rave about, would have been better next door at Weatherspoons!!

Visited a few days ago and its terrible, the staff are extremely rude and scruffy, food needs binning and as for the manager, well I'm surprised he's actually got any staff the way he talks to them. Place needs closing down

We visited here a few years back and loved the food and drinks, and this year proved there food does not disappoint. Being a family of 9 i did call to book a table but you don't have to book you can just pop in. I asked if we could sit at the back as with the kids they could run on the green at the back of the restaurant after the meal. The burgers are absolutely filling and amazing, the kids meals are big as well and cheap for a drink, meal and a pudding. My brother in law ordered the combo, its not for one person that could easily feed a family of 4. We also purchase some cocktails but unfortunately for us they were not that strong. They have complied with the covid and have a one way system around the bar.

Great etablishment deffiently worth checking out a bit of a hidden gem! The karaoke on weekends are a great vibe!

Amazing place been twice in 2 days food is amazing staff are so friendly and helpful waiting time was amazing defiantly come again

Came in with my partner and her parents after being out for the afternoon.Restaurant was empty bar the 4 of us and 4 other people.We ordered 2 burgers and an ultimate sharing combo and halloumi fries with cheese and bacon ranch topped on it.Halloumi fries come without the bacon and ranch topping, and where so over cooked it was like licking the inside of chip fat fryer.So after 15 minute or so wait 1 burger came out. Then we had another 10 minute wait before 2nd burger come out follwed by another 5 minute wait or so for the pulled pork topping to come out for the original burger.Finally after what seemed like an eternity our ultimate american combo comes to the table in the shape and form of a burger.Turns out they took order wrong after all that time.Fortunately the milkshakes are on point and filled a whole enough that we was just able to get a refund on the burger we never originally ordered.Place looked like it had potential but if they cant manage to bring food out on time and the right order I'd hate to think how theyd cope if it was busy.

Great location right on the Main Street great American style menu served very quick and food was great happy eating food

Went there for a pint and all what I could see, was a young guy wearing factory shirt standing by the bar with a pint and shot. Not saying staff is not allowed to drink but he could change his uniform at least.!

Excellent meals, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere,had a great time and will return again. Easy to find, and a good variety of food and drinks to choose from both menus.

We come to Paignton every year, and used to go in here every day of our holiday. This year we have been in once, and won’t be returning. We had 2 pints of Carling, that tasted shocking. It smelt sour, and tasted more like lemon. We suffered through the pint until we couldn’t drink any more, as there was no point in a replacement. When taking the glasses back to the bar and explaining it tasted disgusting-the blonde member of staff was rude, saying ‘if it’s that bad, why have you drunk most of it, I’m not replacing it’. We did not want a replacement because they would be just as vile! Her attitude stinks, and so does the Carling.

Can't say I had a good time here, and as it was the last day of our holiday and we were starting to become strapped for cash I wish we hadn't wasted any here. We went in because we quite like an American style diner, usually, and we wanted a quick change from all the seafood we'd been eating. The place was empty but it was an awkward time between lunch and dinner so we didn't think too much of it. The barman was very friendly, welcomed us and gave us the menus. We went to the back of the room, which is rather large, to sit by the open doors as it was very warm.The decor is what you'd expect from an American style diner, and it seemed pretty clean and whatnot in the restaurant itself, no food left out, no spillages, lots of chrome and dark tables, so far so good. Maybe there's more staff in the evening or maybe there's good drinks deals that make it a good place to visit at night, I don't know, but I don't recommend it for a quick dinner. My partner had the chicken platter and to be fair he said it was perfectly fine. I had the 'hot dog' which was 'loaded' with chilli and 'American cheese'.It came with skin on 'fries'. I also ordered halloumi 'fries' on a 'bed of green salad'. You'll notice all the quotation marks. What I received was a sea-side chippy style sausage in a dry bun, with the smallest amount of tasteless chilli shoved down the sides you've ever seen. The topping only went halfway up the dog. Loaded it was not. The cheese was not American cheese, it was this weird congealed lump of chewiness and very thin on the ground. The fries were actually chips, and though they were okay they tasted very deep fried and a bit insubstantial. The halloumi fries weren't fries at all. If I read halloumi fries I expect them to be battered or crumbed or ... ya know ... something. This was literally a small plate of halloumi chunks. That was it. Unadorned cheese bits. No seasoning, no batter, no nothing. The bed of green salad it came on was one piece of iceberg lettuce. And this was £5. All in all, my meal was foul and I couldn't finish it. Partner faired much better, so maybe they know what they're doing when it comes to chicken.Oh and the toilets were naff. Have to squeeze in to get the door shut, the toilet roll dispenser was behind your head just where you can't really reach it, and the sinks were soaking wet. I leaned forward to check my face in the mirror and the front of my top became immediately soggy.Again, the staff were friendly and attentive and said goodbye when we left, can't really fault them.

First of all ~ the staff were very nice, polite and keeping busy. The menu was a disappoinment. No seafood. Only one vegetarian option. Only suitable for meat/burger eaters in our opinion. The tables outside on, the main street, were old and dated.We won't be returning.

Went here last year and it was great. Sun terrace, cocktails and food. This year not so much. Cheap undercooked food that's made my partner ill! The eggs were overcooked aswell as the hash browns and sausages, my partner is now so poorly on our last night of our mini getaway and its ruined our visit to paignton. Wont be returning!! Ever!!

I have been eating here many time when visiting Paignton But this will be the last time as quality of the food was appalling, ordered hot dog and said no onions, came with onions and the bread roll it came in was stale and very cheep brand, My gammon steak was very fatty and cold, the chips ere also under cooked and almost cold, the meals were served on cold plates could only stomach a quarter of the meal we both left My pint of cider was not the best tasted like the pipes needed cleaning.

Food was way below par, not as cheap as many nearby pub restaurants. Burger came and missed half of what it should of had, when it came back it was a mess. However the milkshakes are incredible and the place is good to watch the sport.

Quick stop for breakfast. Cool interior and decor with helpful service, but I think the cooking oil needed changing - the bacon had a lot of black bits on. Everything was slightly too greasy and oily which detracted from the enjoyment, and the fried bread was over cooked and too crunchy.

Lovely friendly staff of 2 ladies behind the bar. They were so helpful & knew the menu choices well. I settled for a fantastic milkshake with all the trimmings. Followed by a really tasty mocktail, as I was driving. I will be back 🤩

We stopped in for a quick coffee but after looking at the menu decided on a coke float, and a milkshake- we were not disappointed. The service was relatively quick and friendly. Nice view over a park at the back. Finding the ladies toilet was a little confusing, but that might be because I am getting old. Next time I am not trying to stick to a diet I will visit to eat. It is on the walkway to an from the beach, easy to find and adds to the excitement, and the feeling of being treated during a trip to the beach!

Walked in, the place was empty but thought we would give it a go, lady bent behind the bar, we were waiting for some kind of greeting(never been here before) after being ignored for a little while we asked if we could sit anywhere, lady behind the bar still didn't look up and just said "order at the bar" no menus were offered, the worst greeting at a restaurant ever! We walked straight back out and found somewhere else to eat

Came in for a few drinks.. Ended up staying all night.. Love this place.. A must visit if passing...

Went here to watch the football, lots of screens and choice of beer. However the beer is very expensive, £4.80 for an estrella. The food I had was perfectly fine, however we were rushed to order before 8 for some reason. Was very empty inside

Despite the negative views I wanted to try for myself. Just me and my 14yr old son went for a late lunch it was very quite inside. My first impressions not good. I thought it was like a TGI Fridays real American place. No just general music playing no atmosphere. For the prices and American style you expect a bouncy smiley waitress coming to take your order. You have to go up to the bar. We both had the pulled pork sub. You have to order sides separately. I thought £1.50 for fries and £2 for onion rings wasn't bad until they arrived. 4 onion rings for £2???? Really?? . I thought we would get a bowl full. Fries were to die for but a tiny cup of them waste of time really. The subs were lovely no complaints there. Bar lady very miserable not what you expect in an American restaurant at all. My main complaint was £3 for a small diet coke. It was coke zero which is not like diet coke. An American place needs real diet coke or Pepsi. That is a discusting price. Most places do unlimited now for that price or at least a large drink. As a local I look for nice places to eat. To be honest much nicer food and drink in weatherspoons next door and half the price. Very very disappointed will never go back.

Very poor food we had bacon with our meal and it tasted horrid I think it was on the turn as they say. The price was average but to be honest I wouldn't bother going back, the Wetherspoons next door would have been a better option if it hadn't been full.

Went as part of a group of 3 adults. The place was surprisingly empty when we arrived so we had a choice of tables. It’s an American style restaurant with a menu reflecting a traditional American diner; there’s a lot of choice on the menu and we all struggled to choose as everything sounded so good!

Kids ordered hot dogs and were served sausages, as covered in cheese they didn’t realise until they started eating. Refund refused as they had started eating, only asked for 1 to be refunded as one of the girls liked it. Trading standards ???? if it’s a sausage it should say so on Menu. Rest of food was ok but customer satisfaction is not on the menu. We left and got desserts of waffles and ice cream else where.

Food was okay but expensive for what you got. I ordered hotdog, chips and coleslaw no where did it say it was spicy coleslaw, my daughter asked if it contained peppers as I have severe allergy, we were reassured there wasn’t . After eating most of it at the end of my meal I had a severe reaction again my daughter asked to which the cook/manager came out and said no when my daughter questioned her she shouted for someone to bring the sauce bottle when reading out ingredients she was not having it that chilli was a pepper at which she tutted and walked off. The attitude was awful and then I ended up being ill rest of night so had to stop in my room wasting a night on my holiday thanks to the staffs thickness. DONT GO THERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY THEY DONT CARE x

We had the simple, no frills burger and asked for them to be well done. They were delicious, cooked to perfection. Moist and tasty, very filling.

I read the reviews for this place and was a bit put of.but I thought I'd try it anyway for myself.im really pleased I did try it was the most amazing burger.you can tell it's a quality burger and it really filled me up.the 2 girls behind the counter were very friendly to everyone.she explained that the girl serving me was new at her job.if you have a burger here I 100% recommend to try is the route 66 burger it's amazing.the reason I'm only giving it 4 and not 5 though is for 2 things.the chips from there I didn't like much.and the second thing there was a female working there carrying her baby picking up plates and glasses she seemed to give everyone dirty looks and never see her smiled once.but I would defently go back here again as the burgers are amazing.

One member of staff was enough for the small number of clientele; we found out why. She was as disinterested as it gets, the drinks weren't cheap and nor were they cocktails. Not even a single shake, just plonk; in went the ingredients. We didn't bother finishing them; try the Hyde Dendy and The Spinning Wheel on the seafront instead.

Welcome us in,friendly staff,good food(told us about happy hour) and they had the football on.What more could you write x

Actually we’re supposed to go to talk of the town next door, but I’m really glad that they were useless and messed up our booking. All 9 of us really enjoyed the food and drink. Yes, the menu is limited, however it’s an American food place. Burgers, ribs, steak, wings, hot dogs were all really tasty and the cost was fine. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Ami whitehouse brought out food and was very professional. Would go again.

This place should only be frequented as a last resort as the food is well below par ands the service is pretty poor also. Toilets are also bad and my partner had to complain about the women's toilets twice which the staff did nothing about.

Having visited the factory bar, banx bar and Jack's torquay I don't understand why even though all terrible comments are true there is no management response to comments

What a weekend we had the place was busy as anything, Jade, Beth,Kelly all at the hand cracking entertainment to with the karaoke all weekend.. Door staff very bubbly and approachable unlike other venues

Had a meal here with the family and wasn't disappointed.. I was nice and empty and nice, relaxing and quiet.. Food was great and the drinks was good too.. A nice place.. And far better than the food they save next door....

As we were in the area and our last visit we enjoyed, we thought "lets have lunch" , perfect, lovely, staff food and premises. ... will say our last visit was mothers day year before and the lady that cooked for us then was still there, excellent food, gentleman on bar..... perfect team in hospitality service quality of everything was exceptional 5*

Over priced for what it is.. burgers were like something you got off a dodgy burger van after a night on the booze!! And not even cooked.

Spent £54 which seemed very overpriced for what we had. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Food was nice.

When we got to the restaurant it was very quiet and looked nice from the menu I ordered a southern fried cheese and bacon burger with fries and my husband ordered the works burger this is where it started going wrong it took me 10mins to explain to a server that we didn't want American cheese or burger sauce and no salad after that our food arrived very fast which was concerning as we paid £28 for our meals and what we got was not worth the price it was on a small plate with a cup of chips and the quality of the food was not warrant he expense we paid my chicken burger was salty and tasted like something you buy from farm foods and my husbands burger tasted cheap and nasty we left very disappointed with the quality and quantity of food never going back!!!!

As all my regular readers know ribs and wings are my thing so on spotting this little gem next to a ridiculously crowded witherspoons in we went the staff were brilliant it was a bit quiet but it was only 6 on a tues night the menu is fairly large as are the contents on it wife had scampi chips peas salad 6 99 nipper no 2 fried chicken chips onion rings 9 50 me wings ribs onion rings corn on cob chips 13 50 now the wings are from the smallest chicken but well cooked and the bbq sauce is nice and sticky the ribs are capitol style with a rich smokey flavor lovely and tender chips are these curious skin on chaps which are lush all ln all very nice clean quick friendly bit expensive but i dont mind when everyone eats the lot thanks guys especially the the young lady with the huge bun of dark hair

Drinks were lovely when they arrived but wouldn't go again due to the unfriendly staff (girl with long dark hair needs to get a smile).

Esse com certeza é o melhor lugar para se comer bem e beber uma deliciosa cerveja em Paignton... the sloppy joe burger é o tipo de sanduíche para levar para a vida... melhor onion rings do Reino Unido!!! O atendimento é uma outra vantagem... PERFEITO... impossível não amar esse lugar... não é barato, mas vale cada centavo...

Came here with a few friends for a quick meal. Although the food was served promptly I feel like the chicken wings I ordered could have been of better quality, unable to get much meat off and was all drumstick rather than 'wing' I ended up leaving half.

After the BMAD Bike festival, we were looking for a place to drink and The Factory seemed the perfect place and it was, good quick service from the staff, descent price for drinks and a friendly atmosphere.May even try the food next time.....

I was shocked when this establishment decided to hike up their prices. Really bad move when there is a wetherspoons next door serving the same quality food for a fraction of the price. Ribs and wings £18?!!! Good luck.

Steak was gone off and when taken back the bar lady told me I was in the wrong and there was nothing wrong with it and then charged us for the steak . Will not be going back and very over priced food .

We go to the factory every time we're in Paignton and the Worthington is always lovely we had it on thurs and it was to it's usual standard however two nights later a different story watered down swill is the best way to describe it not everyone out on a Saturday is happy to drink crap

We stopped of here for a quick drink and I had a milkshake it was okay although the chocolate sauce was all over the side of the glass which resulted in me having sticky hands I went to wash them and there was no soup in the toilets.

Because this is next door8r to a wetherspoons it tends to be quiet, however I have found the food to be just as good.

Popped in for tea one evening whilst on holiday in the area.Very quiet inside, only a couple already there when we arrived. With having a baby we headed to the back to be out of the way and got set up with a high chair. Ordered quickly at the bar and food came fairly quickly too. Nice enough, decent enough portions too, especially dessert! It is American themed and although I would say isn't necessarily authentic American food, I've had a lot worse at some other places. Here the food was hot, well cooked and nicely presented.Staff were friendly, just a shame it was so quiet. Perhaps gets busier later in the evening, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. Would go back if we were in the area again.

Very average food. Slightly overpriced and not very big portions. I had a chicken wrap which had been cut in half to look like it had a number of large chicken pieces inside. However when I ate it, I found the chicken was in all the middle and the rest was empty.

went in on our first night, not that busy but karaoke on we all had a sing and it was a good night only around the corner from our hotel, they do a cocktail happy hour between 4 and 7 !!! on a sunday, they also do food but we only went in for the karaoke

just called in for cup of tea and bite to eat...we had bowl of chips with the skins , they were really nice and also a toasted teacake ...all very nice

Great range of cocktails, mocktails, sodas and beers. The staff are really good And remembered us when we returned. The cocktails were great fun and not too much ice so you get what you pay for and not a load of ice. Would recommend and visit again.

We popped in for a drink and ended up staying for a couple rounds of cocktails! More for the younger set than our age, but never the less they made us feel welcome.

When you visit somewhere out of season you expect places to be fairly empty but you know that, if there is a large family group of you spending a lot of money, you will be welcomed wherever you go, except when you visit the Factory Bar.We are a professional and well mannered group of adults with children ranging from the age of 11 to 27, so you can understand that we appreciate good food, drink and company. If you visit this bar you will be unwelcome if you appear too loud, unappreciated for the money you spend and happy if you like stale beer.There are plenty of bars and eateries to chose from in Paignton so don't make too much of an effort to call in here.

Been here before and had lovely food however on this occasion the mojito my parnter ordered was sub-par (very weak, no lime juice) and the bbq chicken wings tasted awful, almost like fish. Mistakes happen, so we decided to mention it to a member of staff. The only member of staff in the (admittedly quiet) restaurant, at that time, was on his mobile constantly and didnt spare a second look to our empty plates so I approached him to politely explain the situation. I was told there was nothing he could do as the manager wasnt in today and no one else had ever complained about the wings. No exchange or refund offered, he was totally unsympathetic. My partner works in one of London's top restaurants, and, though we dont expect 5* service when we're eating hot dogs and chicken wings, there is a level of customer care that any establishment who values its customers should adhere to and Factory really let themselves down today. Either it's a bad policy that means only a manager can do refunds or I was lied to. I suspect the latter, as it doesnt make sense that there would be no manager (or supervisor?) on shift with the power to deal with complaints. Either way the chicken, and the service, left a sour taste in our mouths. Compliments, however, go to the perky young girl with the curly hair who took our order, and was very sympathetic when she came to collect our plates a little after the incident with the man.

Prices high and food, cottage pie, nothing special . First time I 'be visited and would prefer Wetherspoons for price and quality!

Mixture of family members ranging from 12 to 55 turned up to watch the football on Saturday night the place was nearly empty,the bar staff where very helpful turning the Tv over so we had space, but when a goal was scored we were told to be quiet as we where upsetting 2 diners by the owner, we felt very uncomfortable so left after being watched for 20 minutes,so we left after spending a lot of money, don't advertise live sport if you want it quiet

Stayed in Paignton back in the summer, four of us ready for drink and food went into Witherspoons (next door) but it was packed and no seats so popped in to the factory for drink it was happy hour(bonus) saw the food coming out looked fab , it was, the burger good, hot dog good, myself had chilli & Mac cheese,we all had sides fries salad corn on cob fantastic,service good music gave it nice atmosphere and reasonable prices,will certainly return.

Ordered ribs and ribs and wings combo. Some of the wings were stone cold and the ribs were lukewarm. Complained about the chicken which were re microwaved! The food was very overpriced for what it was. Basically straight out the freezer and microwaved. Not good. Staff friendly but food a letdown. Just hoping we don't get food poisoning!!

We went on a Saturday evening and we all had chicken which came with chips, onion rings and sweet corn and it came to just over forty pounds not bad value which we all enjoyed. It was happy hour when we went so the cocktails was two for a tenner and drinks cheaper. The bar and food service was excellent and choice of food was brilliant I would definitely go back.

Our first visit and a enjoyable one. Loads of choice on the menu and at reasonable prices. Service was very good, staff helpful and polite. The only downside ..... the toilets need a refurb. I'd definitely go here again.

What a gem of a restaurant! Popped into The Factory after a long day of travelling with my boyfriend, both tired and lagging at this point;and received such a genuine,warm welcome from the lovely lady at the bar and the manager, it pepped us both right back up! . The bar/ restaurant has an American style menu, with so many Delicious options to choose from, it took us about twenty minutes to decide what to get! ( as a fussy eater it was such a joy to find so many things on one menu that I knew I would like). I went for the baby back ribs; My boyfriend for the Rib, wing and steak combo ( both came with corn on the cob, onion rings and skin on chips). When the meals arrived, we both momentarily turned into drooling Homer Simpsons. The food looked and smelled incredible. One bite into my ribs and I was in heaven! I don't think I stopped to breathe until I was about four ribs in. The fries/chips were delicious, as was everything on my plate. My boyfriend is a chef himself, and and is fastidious about his steak and the way its cooked, and one bite in, I honestly thought I saw tears of joy! He says it was the best steak He's ever had ( and after snaffling myself a little piece, I definitely agree). The wings were also succulent and moist, just wow!. To echo ashton2356's review, this is the best meal we've ever had too!. So glad we decided to pop in, and recommend everyone visiting the Paignton/south west Devon area; do not walk past this restaurant, walk right inside and order some of the best food you will ever eat. Hats off to the amazing staff, so sorry we did not think to get the name of the barmaid and manager/chef, they obviously take a great pride in their work and it shows. 10/10, can't wait to visit again. Me and my boyfriend stopped here for tea on our holiday in Paignton. We had the hound dog and it was by far the best meal we have ever had! It was delicious and we will definitely be coming back next time we are in Paignton.

We visited this restaurant 4 times in the week we stayed here. It looks dingy from the outside but the food is amazing quick service and hot when it comes out. We would recommend the bacon and chicken salad & the pulled pork cheese burger. The cocktails are equally as nice as the food especially with 2 cocktails for £10. Recommend Key West cocktail, fruity and refreshing. The waitresses were welcoming and always in happy mood. Only one thing is we went in a group of 11 and could have done with being served drinks at the table rather than all going up to the bar

Dropped into The Factory in Paignton yesterday and was very impressed with this pub. The Factory is next door to Wetherspoon's Talk of the Town and competes very well. The Happy Hour between 4 and 8 pm means that the most popular beers and cider are a little cheaper than Wetherspoon's. I did not eat here but other customers were very impressed. The service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. A member of staff even brought out a large bowl of water for a customer's dog without being asked. I would certainly recommend.

We popped I'm for an early dinner this evening as the menu (and drinks) looked great. My husband had the Philly Cheese Steak wrap which was served a little to rare for his liking but they were more than happy to fix that for us. Yummy food and friendly service.

The prices here are great, £3.50 for a small breakfast which is more than adequate for an adult.All very well done,quick service and the venue is spotlessly clean! Would defining tell recommend.

We visited Paignton for a long weekend and discovered "The Factory" on the first night, its a great bar serving reasonably priced drinks with friendly staff. We ate here on the Saturday lunchtime and the food was very good and served very quickly. They also show all the big football matches which is also a bonus when you have 2 teenage boys !! We would recommend it to anyone...we will definitely call in again..

We recently visited Paignton for the week and we visited here towards the end of our holiday even though we wish we'd found it sooner.We had a chocolate brownie shake and a fruit smoothie.We soon found out these were no ordinary drinks,they were out of this world! With the shake being more like a meal topped with whipped cream and dashed with m&m's and chocolate brownie throughout....If these drinks are anything to go by then the food must be amazing.

We visited in August as a group of 6 (including 2 children). The food choice is very good, along with the cocktails (I recommend the bubblegum one) and there is something for everyone. The food arrived quickly and was very well cooked, thoroughly enjoyed by all. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Not a huge dessert menu, but what we had was lovely. Would definitely go back, the only shame is that we discovered in late on in the holiday!

Me and my family came here in July. We got a lot of cakes/ice cream from here and they were all amazing. We also came for dinner and the size of the meals were massive for a great price. Their cocktails were also great!.

Popped in for a bite to eat on Sunday after walking around Dubs at the Beach. It was quiet in there which was quite nice. The menu choice was extensive and we chose a starter and 2 sides for a mixture. The portions were very generous. I have a small appetite and between us we must have left over half. The food also appeared very quickly. The lady that served us (bright pink hair) was happy and very helpful and polite. Will definitely be back!
