Extra Life Gaming Lounge in Sheffield

Staff denied my disabled client use of their toilet, stating he'd have to buy something first. In all my experience, this is the ONLY establishment in Sheffield to have this attitude. Well done, policy hero. Classy.

Our third visit to this establishment and an absolute must if visiting Sheffield. My husband and I both had a delicious breakfast. It is an extra cost if you want to game, but don't mind that as we're both avid gamers. We love coming here as the staff are helpful and extremely friendly, food is delicious and clean and tidy.

I tried a food eating challenge for the first time- you have to finish a large amount of food they've put together, plus a milkshake, in 25 minutes. I managed to do it! More important than that, the food was delicious, they were so helpful and kind to me and they turned the whole thing into a positive and memorable experience. My wife (supporting me) really enjoyed her milkshake too.

Solid full English breakfast and you can go large for just £1 extra which just about doubles the food on the plate!! ❤️ Top notch espresso too.

Popped in for breakfast as it's right next door to Ponds Forge pool. Food was really good, great service, freshly cooked and fast servive.

I have been here a few times, and I have to say that the food is exemplary, and the selection of video games is massive, but beyond even that, the friendliness of the staff is incredible. Just a perfect place.

A lovely, accomodating cafe with friendly staff. Often come on school visits and we are always welcomed, accommodated and nothing is too much. A great selection of games to play and enjoy and some cool local merch to buy too. Lovely cakes and food at great prices. If you're planning a large group visit I would ring ahead to double check as it can be a squash with lots of people in. No available parking but it is on some direct bus routes and a short walk away from the tram stop. Also there is a council car park behind the cafe.

Took my other half here for his birthday and the set up consoles especially for us. My other half loved it. Great food and service. Mike was a great host and looked after us all really well. We loved it! Will definitely be back! Thanks Mike!

We booked a 2 hour slot on our favourite type of console. We received a warm welcome and everything was clearly explained. I ordered a breakfast and coffee. Both were delicious. Lots of lovely cakes to choose from. Very clean and comfortable seating.

Sometimes you just stumble across somewhere that has great service and lovely food at very reasonable prices, and this is one of those places. It's only a small place, but friendly and well-run, and if you want nice food (and a good range of food) at a good price, and to play some consoles you can't beat it. I took my family and would definitely go again next time I'm in Sheffield.

Myself and a few friends recently visited Sheffield. We went karting, visited the national video game museum and spent a few hours in the Extra Life Gaming Lounge. Mike and his partner are two of the most welcoming people you could wish to meet. The lounge is clean and tidy, has some awesome games and systems set up. I enjoyed a fantastic milkshake and my friends had food which again was very highly spoken of. If you find yourself in Sheffield with some spare time I highly recommend checking this place out, you won't regret it.

My partner and I had a date here and used a living social deal which gave us several hours gaming and afternoon tea. On arrival the place was clean and we witnessed areas cleaned after use. Staff wore masks which made us feel at ease. The staff showed us to the snug we had which was comfortable and as a novice recommended a cute game to play which was really fun. To top it off the food was excellent and all homemade. Never had ice cream with an afternoon tea and it was a nice touch! Staff kept checking everything was fine.they're a family run business and all welcoming and friendly. Thanks for making it so enjoyable for someone new to gaming. We'd love to come back.

Myself and six friends visited Sheffield recently and we popped into Extra Life Gaming Lounge for the afternoon, what a place :) The food was amazing and the coffee was even better. Mike was a great host and very knowledgeable about the games and systems he has on site. In short, if you are in the area it is a must visit.

Took three 11 year olds for lunch. Great selection of games and consoles, cheap, delicious and really helpful and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more, I'd definitely recommend and will absolutely be back. It's a really good place to come after NVM if you want to carry on the gaming!

I was visiting Sheffield for a few days and went here for lunch every single day, I only wish I had stayed longer to go more! This hidden gem of a café puts so much love and care into every aspect of the experience, the game consoles are maintained and kept to a high standard, there are tonnes of games to choose from, ranging from original classics like the original mortal kombat and Pac-Man arcade games to modern classics on next-gen consoles. The food has the ultimate 'mom and pop's diner' feel to it, from BLT's to the iconic chilli cheese dog, even the super meat boy burger. Everything feels so homely and nice, also for the price you wont find a cheaper meal anywhere in Sheffield, especially not one of such high quality.

The venue is cosy, the staff are super lovely and the food is great too. There's consoles on the tables so you can play while waiting for your food, or spend the afternoon gaming and snacking. They have weekly events for things like watching 80s...
