Wow! What can I say. This is probably the worst curry takeaway I've ever eaten. Cold, food fried in old oil. Odd burnt taste to jalfrezi and the lamb pathia was awful. Everything had an odd flavour to it. When I called up I was just asked if I wanted more food. Will never order from them again

Came in for a quick curry after visiting someone in the area. I asked for a lamb tikka and King Prawn curry, but have been given normal lamb. Both Lamb and King Prawn were super over cooked to a point in which I probably wouldn’t not have chocked myself if I swallowed the lamb pieces without chewing, the worst lamb tikka I have ever tried. 3 stars is for the service only.

Disappointed. Got here just after opening for a gig at the Town Hall. No-one in and suspect that old chicken left over from the night before may have been used as my wife had some tummy trouble the following night. This isn't an accusation, just a suspicion. We went to Exquisite last night for a birthday meal for a friend of mine. I was originally going to rate it as Very Good, but it lost a couple of points for not being licensed and being a bit on the small side. However, those two things shouldn't stop you from going if you fancy a curry. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating considering the mess and noise our one-year-old made. The food was very nice, and the naan breads weren't ludicrously big, as is sometimes the case in other Indian restaurants. If you're in Burton and you fancy a curry, I reckon you could do a lot worse than Exquisite.

Got invited here for a friends birthday meal. I'll start of by admitting that I'm a fussy eater who doesn't like Indian cuisine. However that aside I was really impressed. I was suggested a dish by my friends half expecting to be served a plate of liquid hot lava, I was pleasantly surprised. A dish Mr Fussy can eat at an Indian. I could go as far as to say I enjoyed it. One thing I would say is don't judge the venue on the decor, it's shocking the staircase is lime green, the gents loo looks like it's been painted with spray tan and the ladies I can only imagine a care beer has exploded it. Taking that out of the equation its a great little place I would happily return to, especially knowing a dish I will now enjoy is on the menu.

We were taken to a table upstairs as the downstairs part was quite full....a shame because the downstairs had a great ambience whereas the upstairs was just a bit like a bedroom! The curry itself was nice, my husband had a problem with his desert, it was still frozen and tasted very old and odd as if it had been in the freezer for years lol! We pointed this out to the waiter and he was quick to change it for the same desert I had which was the mango ice cream. The service here is good and its very clean and great value if you're on a budget. Also a bonus that you can take your own drinks. We stumbled across this place because next door but one (Balti Towers) wasn’t open for business and we were en route to the cinema. I will point out that as it was early, we were the only diners in, so I cannot comment on what service is usually like.We were very satisfied and will definitely return when we are next in the area. This is a small traditional Indian restaurant serving the typical British style curries of Dopiaza, Bhunas, Vindaloos, Kormas etc. etc. with a handful of chef’s specials. It is not a top end award winning asian eatery which is reflected in the final bill.Portion sizes are good, as is the amount of meat or fish contained in them.A bonus is that they do not have a drinks licence, therefore take your own, drink what you prefer and not pay uplifted prices for the privilege. The two of us had popadums and pickles, followed by a main course each, we shared a special rice, and a cheese and chilli naan, and it came to under £21.00. Bargain! It was cheaper than a take away!Again, next time we want to eat early evening in Burton, this is the place I'll be heading.

I went here for a meal with friends and my girlfriend as had tried to book Apne, but it was full on Friday night. Exquisite had a table and the place looked great from reviews and their website so I thought we'd try it.The staff were very welcoming and polite, and the atmosphere was, albeit quiet initially, great throughout the night. The restaurant is well decorated and is very clean.Poppadoms were on the house and they have no licence, so take your own drinks - makes for a cheap night out! We had starters and mains because we thought there were only three desserts - however there are more, but there is a separate menu they bring you afterwards - just a forewarning!I had the onion bahji to start and a chicken bhuna for main. Both of these were very tasty but a bit too greasy for my liking - we all agreed on this, Apne isn't as greasy at all. But nevertheless it was good tasting traditional indian food. Another slight let down was that I was expecting it to be much hotter than it was - it said on the menu hot and dry, but it was extremely mild.Everyone else enjoyed there food and were pleased with the restaurant. The staff were always very helpful and very jovial. For four of us to have starters and mains and a side order of nan breads each it came to around £40 which I thought was extremely good value! The night was excellent apart from a group of 8 lads who ruined it for everyone. They were very rowdy and drunk; they kept spilling the drinks everywhere and annoying a group of ladies behind them. Nevertheless, they did go soon after and the atmosphere was restored. This is nothing to do with the restaurant and isn't a negative aimed at the restaurant.Overall, I was very impressed. I would come again for the tasty food and great prices. Although I do think Apne is better - more tasty, hotter and less greasy. I would recommend this to anyone though.

Drinks can be bought in by yourself or alternatively the Devonshire will allow you to take drink away to the resturant.Popadums and pickles were provided, free of charge and whilst not particuarly inspiring they were ok.The orders were taken and arrived a short time later, piping hot and very tasty indeed. The price of a Lamb Madras Balti, with rice and a garlic nan was less than ten pounds, excellent value for money. The only down side to the resturant is the very tired decor, especially the stairs and whilst the facilities are clean, again they need painting. A little time spent on these issues will enhance the otherwise pleasant ambiance supplied by the staff.Well recommended.

Am a regular here . It may not have the ambience of a posh restaurant , but the food and atmosphere more than make up for it . Often interaction between tables is a friendly place to go for curry . Is very cheap as well but the food is as good as much more pricey venues. They are so accommodating it will be your favourite restaurant in no time .

I visted this restaurant with my husband the other week, first time we've been here and so glad we found it. The staff we're very friendly!!The decor is a little on the cheesy side with the tigers painted on the walls but once the curry comes out and you taste it you forget about the 80's cheese tastic walls..... We've had many currys in our time and this we can honestly say was one of the best we've ever had. The currys tasted fresh, you could taste all the herbs, the chicken was nicely cooked - it actually looked like it was a curry made from scratch as apose to a microwaveable curry from another establishiment. The price was also very reasonable and happily tipped them as it was beautiful. We didnt realise it was a BYO which was unfortunate but we know for next time. This looks like a very popular place as the staff knew the people coming in to eat which was a nice personal touch. Overall I'd highly recommend it and will be going there again very soon..... but i'll be booking to avoid disapointment!!

Arrived yesterday evening. Check in quick and easy, except being advised to wait for someone to take our bags, which we did ourself. What I would say is, the staff are excellent, so hard working, whoever the management are, they need a large rocket, period. This place feels nice but the attention to detail is shocking. So we arrived on April 01st, who is the joker?! Queues of 20 minutes to get a drink ffs. Complained but didn’t really change anything. A la carte restaurants shut, nice one. Low and behold, today, the ice creams, 25 minute queue to be told no strawberry, vanilla or chocolate. I’m not rude but i did stop the server from chatting to his buddy as there were 25 people in the queue behind me. Joke. Overall £500 a week for here is good value, don’t expect anything more. Right on the beech.

Family of 10. Where to begin. Mixed up veg and non veg samosas and my vegetarian wife ended up eating meat. Half hearted apologies, blaming each other - they didn’t really have a clue. We waited 1 hour for starters even through the restaurant was super quiet. Food was not great. Fish Amritsar slimy and bland. Chana Puri bland. Nan breads flat. Chilli paneer and paneer shashlik were identical. Tandoori chicken and aloo tiki were ok. No drinks menu. Left after Starters. Place is a joke.

Pleasant staff, quick service, great food. They do not have an alcohol license but offer a good range of soft drinks and I noticed other patrons had brought their own alcoholic drinks
