Exotic Karahi in Slough

I ordered the food and the dhal kidney beans were under cooked and all 3 garlic naans were not cooked either very disappointed with my order especially spending £55.00

Always fresh, consistent quality, friendly service. By a significant margin, this place is the best Indian restaurant within a large radius. We drive 10 miles, past many other restaurants to dine here. I recognise many regular patrons every time we visit. We sometimes act on recommendations and try other places for convenience or variety, but they always turn out to be anglicised flavours, no seasoning, dry chicken, tough grilled lamb or just reheated food. We visit Exotic as a family and usually order a chaat, mango lassi, followed by a selection of tandoori dishes, veg main such as karela or spinach and a curry, along with some fresh breads which are always great. There are healthy options available, along with more indulgent courses. Try it, you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect a generic homogenised “curry house”.

The madras was way too oily. There was more ghee than sauce. Husbands chicken jalfrezi was spot on and the samosa was as always was perfect. Only half a tub of pilau rice and the popodoms were stale. Roti was perfect as always

The only problem is my food was cold. Had to reheat it, do they just heat the food up or actually cook it. It definitely tasted great but should have been hot as it is just down the road

The Amritsari fish starter is delightful. Light flaky fish that is covered in a lovely, spiced natter. The lamb biryani is generous, more meat than you'll find in any competitors' dish, and tastes fantastic. Service is always good.

I have ordered through just eat on 19:48 and food was delivered on 21:13. Also why they are charging for bag & service charge? Bag should comes under delivery charge. Service charge should be optional. Estimated delivery timegiven iwas 1:30hr. Not worth to order at this location.

I have ordered from Exotic Karahi twice before. I have also eaten at their restaurant on the Farnham Road. Food those times was excellent. However, this time: a bit disappointing. Not as good as expected.

We had to wait at least 20 minutes for a table and with glasses were asked to stand on the street. Hardly safe, or legal with an alcoholic beverage. I order a Stella top and receive a Stella with a wedge of lemon in it!!! Really? We were finally seated to our table and order taken. I received the wrong bread, which we sent back and we’re asked 3 times why it was wrong. By the time it came back 20 mins later our mains were cold so had to send them back to re heated. Then ordered another round of drinks which never show up, so we decided at this point to cut our loses and leave. Wouldn’t return nor recommend this place to anyone.

I was so amazed how quick and so delicious the food was. Absolutely top. sheesh kebab and garlic naan bread was the best combination and balance for all tastes. Will definitely return.

I’ve been ordering from yourselves for yrs but tonight I was very dissatisfied, it tasted not gd that I ended up throwing it away which I’ve never had to do . Friend were disappointed as I’ve always said how good it was 😞

Dal was ok but karahi paneer was like it was made without putting in karahi as water ,masala and paneer all were looking separate ..no masala or taste ..avoid karahi paneer ..they need to learn to make gravy !!

We ordered lamb chops 2 portions and of 10 pieces only one was soft enough to eat. Rest 9 are too hard to chew so have to throw that away. Hope they refund for the bad quality of lamb or they least charge their suppliers

Very bad service, rang the restaurant and waitress pick phone I ask when food arriving she said to could not pick the phone, food arrived very late.

I had order a lot of stuff but Palak paneer and chilli paneer are the worst. We are the very old customer but they disappointed this is not a first time many times it's happened we ignored.Please investigate the person who cook this.

Ordered Before from here many times,for over 6yrs, i know what a Buttered Chicken looks and taste like. When they deliver you a red chicken coloured curry that's a massala,don't have them tell u that all places have their own recipes so might look different, just own up and admit u fcuked up.

Was told with delivery driver at 1850 only a 7 min drive to my house, told order would be here between 1915-1935 didn’t come until 1943. Had guests over was terrible service

The best Indian I've ever eaten. I live in Swindon but always stop here when passing as I can't resist. Try the tandoori lamb chops if you haven't already.

The food here is amazing, but the service is quite poor as the delivery driver is always reluctant to deliver at home. We always have to go downstairs to the front of the apartment where he parked his car to collect the food.

Both dishes were below par considering earlier experience of having takeaway from them or dining in their restaurant. The dishes was too watery and taste was not like before. Chicken chunks were not marinated well.

Always like exotic food, my daughter loved shai panned. Today ordered, tottal rubbish tasted like a tomato can. They changed chef whatever but food in exotic is rn rubbish

This used to be the best food around but no linger unfortunately. The daal was ok but the paratha was awful. It was very doughy instead of flaky and parts were uncooked. Shame

Food was cold and all leaked into the bag. Ordered at 7pm food turned up at 8.30pm and by then was very hungry.

Food is tasty but forgot some of the order

Specifically requested for two dishes to be made mild and they were so spicy! Inedible for the kids. Paneer dish was watery, aloo gobi undercooked and the yogurt had run in to the chickpeas in the tikki chaat making it watery and unpleasant. Also called the restaurant to confirm the order as it was nearly running over the expected time and the person who picked up was so rude and unhelpful. Won’t be ordering again.

The restaurant didn’t sent any chutney with the food. I asked for extra mint chutney they neither sent the extra one nor the regular one.

Worst food ever. Tandoori chicken was not fresh . Probably been in kitchen for few days . And dishes were too oily. Lots of oil proper greasy . Definitely not quality . Wouldn’t recommend.

So so glad exotic is back open food is lovely so fresh and tasty . Best thing is to do it collect because they do get busy. Which is a good thing because you know it’s a great spot Will have no shadow of a doubt about going there again

Place the order at 8:25 pm, Got confirmation that order will be delivered at 9:40 PM. Waited till 9:50 and when I contacted just-in, then I got a confirmation that order is getting delayed and will be delivered around 10:15 pm. I waited till 10:20 pm and when there was no update, I called the restaurant and they said order is on the way .... the order reached me 10:25 pm at my door step . I waited hungry for 2 hr after placing order, the worst part is there is no update from just-in nor exotic. Very bad service

Order arrived nearly an hour late (which was 2 hours after order time). Food quality lacklustre.

Food was warm not hot, wanted food at 6.30 but it came 40 minutes early wasn’t ready to eat may not seem like much difference but was in the middle Of other stuff so had to eat early.

Food was very tasty, still piping hot and delivery was quick.

Food is stone cold and some aspects soggy, called the restaurant who cut me off three times and they said it should be fine if it isn't it's due to the weather!! Meenee was very rude and suggested I was lying and I should be happy that I got 20% off my order due to a promotion...but that is irrelevant. When asking for a refund she told me to contact just eat, who I did but they cannot help me as the order is not complete and expect me to contact the restaurant and then them again! Is this not their issue?? Will not be using just eat or this restaurant again despite ordering numerous times from both and never had an issue before but the service has put me off

The food was good as usual and the delivery was slightly later than expected but not too much of an issue. However, I am disappointed as I ordered 3 poppadums and all I received was cracked pieces in a paper bag. I tried calling the restaurant directly but couldn’t get through. Being a food lover I have dined at most Indian Cuisine establishments in London. Some with family and friends and some with clients. I have repeatedly dined at Exotic in Slough with both friends and family along with work clients on a number of occasions. Every time I have been highly impressed. From the modern settings and decor mixed with traditional Punjabi cuisine. Every dish I have had has been of upmost satisfactory and full of flavour. From the veg and non veg starters (kebabs, fish and chicken) to the paneer. Main courses are of high standard my personal favourite is the 'off the menu' punjabi nihari and keema.I will be a future ongoing customer and a highly recommend this restaurant to all Indian food lovers.HK

The food was awful. The veggie Bhindi was burnt black with audio taste, Rita was so sour and salty and the pashwari naan was the worst we had tasted. Apart from the taraka daal I will not recommend anything else.

wanted to take my wife for her 66th birthday(she does not look 66) and went there on Thursday without a booking.had to wait a bout 10 minutes as tables were socially distanced.after that the food and service was absolutely tremendous.the champagne was good price and food was like good punjabi home made.

Visited Exotic last weekend and had a great meal with my family. The place was busy but seemed everyone had their duties and we were given a table after a short wait. The table had been cleaned and our group was at least 2m away from the nearest customer. We usually go for a mixed grill with naans and then veg for main. The food was just as I remembered last time. We did mention that the naans werent very hot, but within I'd say 2 minutes there were 2 fresh hot naans on our table. A smile goes a long way in a restaurant and although the staff were busy attending to a lot of tables, we were still asked nicely how our food was and if we wanted to order anything else.I'm not local to Slough but if I was I think I would have come here quite a few times during August !!

Tell me, when have you seen a water jug like this in a restaurant?I rate Exotic nearly as good as What's Up India in Rotterdam and that place blew my Indian experience to a new level.I loved the food, described as "Exquisite Punjabi Cuisine" I do have one issue, there was too much to actually eat everything..If I had not been staying in a hotel the leftovers would be in my bag!So, in conclusion.... Exotic is Excellent!

Unfortunately, as this restaurant was a recommendation we had high hopes of great quality, authentic curry but, this was far from what we received. The food was average, oily and cold by the time it arrived. There was a lot of sauce and most of the creamy dishes we ordered tasted the same - definitely not authentic.Aside from the taste and quality, the customer service we received was atrocious. Having been outside of the delivery area, we were asked to pay an extra £5 for delivery on the basis the food would be no longer than 1 hour. Just over 1 and a half hours later, the delivery driver has finally reached us after being given the wrong address by the manager of the restaurant. (photo evidence from the receipt shows this). We called to ask to speak to the manager who was incredibly rude and assured us the address she'd given was correct. It was not, it was printed on the receipt, we could see it was wrong. She then tried to over charge us by £10 which we refused to pay. We also refused to pay the delivery charge as the food was over half an hour late and cold. The manager on the phone was very unreasonable and made our overall experience of this restaurant more unpleasant. She was incredibly rude and the customer service was appalling. I would definitely recommend choosing a different restaurant, not only for better food but, for better service. We were all very, very disappointed.

This place was actually recommended to us however, ordering from here was a big mistake. The food turned up more than half an hour late and cold (1 and a half hours wait in total). The poor driver was not given the address we gave on the phone and understandably got lost after seeing what was written down for her. The address had been repeated on the phone to the manager several times and using the phonetic alphabet so I am not sure how she got it so wrong. Once the food arrived we called up the manager to explain that we would not be paying the full price due to the lateness of the food and the fact that it was cold. She also told us a different price to the one on the bill which was more. We were actually pretty generous by explaining that we would pay the price mentioned on the phone (£10 less than on the bill) when we could have paid half or refused to pay at all. However, when we explained this to the manager on the phone she implied that we were lying and were wrong because she had taken down the address exactly as we said it. We have a copy of the bill and it is absolutely nothing like what we told her on the phone. She was very angry and would not back down making out like everything was our fault. When we gave her an ultimatum and said that either we would pay what we were offering or they could take the food back, we were accused of threatening her. She was extremely angry and unreasonable. For someone in her position as a manager the way she dealt with this situation was appalling. I would advise the owner to send her on a customer service course because this sort of behaviour will put customers off.The food was not even that nice, if it had been amazing we may have been able to overlook all of the above but, it just wasn't worth it. I would give the food a 2 out of 10. My advise would be to avoid this place and to go to or get takeaway from one of the many other much better restaurants near by.DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Spoke with a representative and they did not want to help. The order was over 45 mins late and told the person and they said they do not have the power to refund my purchase. Half my guest had left and others kept asking when the food was arriving and felt embarrassed. I want a refund on my order. This is the 3rd time it’s happened in the last 6 weeks. I want a response and I want it now fing now

After searching for a while around where were travelling we decided to try this place , what a mistake, we had our 2 children with us both under 6 . The restaurant was quite so we ordered drinks starters and mains . We had chips & mix grill to start. The mix grill was piled high so enough for us all . Lamb chops over spiced burnt and what I can only describe as Balti or tandoori paste over marinated. The wings the same and not only did the whole lot taste the same it was the worse I’ve had in my experience. The food was NOT fresh so after tasting the 1 chop that I had I called the waiter over to cancel our mains . I still offered to take the food home I had eaten on to see if the (manager) would make an appearance but no . After cancelling the mains the waiter who was nice enough went into the kitchen returning with my spicey to hell old starters. When we were leaving a women approached the table saying she was owner/ manageress. Ah good I said , “do you know the food coming out of your kitchen is not fresh “. The wings were old and horrible , chops burnt black , dry old chicken . ? No she relied it’s fresh . Well being avid diner I know fresh food . She needs more customer service skills not just look at the money . She didn’t even know what nutmeg is . Totally disappointed!!!! Disgusting food

Food as always is good. Ordered at 1830 for 2000 and still was half an hour late. No apology from restaurant or the driver. End of day, customer service plays important part and goes long way!!!!

Definitely a place to check and visit, enjoyed some very amazing food and have become bit of a regular now.

I visited this restaurant with my family and I was extremely pleased with the level of service that we received. The staff were welcoming and friendly which made us feel very much at home. The food did not disappoint as it followed the same high quality service from the staff and the overall atmosphere being as warming as it was ensured that me and my family had a great time and would undoubtedly visit again.

If you want to spend money expecting to receive a good service - DON’T ORDER FROM HERE!!!!! Food is oil galore/cold and tasteless! Food was packed so poorly that half the items had spilt in the bag, delivery over 2 hours late, restaurant never answers the phone and when their staff do they are extremely rude, passive aggressive and very dismissive! Never ordering from here again. Typical bad business owners wanting your money without caring for customers.
