Top spot for health African / East African food. Delicious variety of authentic Ugandan food. Get the whole flask of hot chai tea with milk after your meal and thank me later!

We went to this restaurant and travelled far to support a fellow east african business and were absolutely dumbfounded when she threatened to call police on us for £5 ! They never once stated that if you don’t finish your food you must pay a fee, the woman then tried to say that it’s on the wall in black and white…incredibly rude and the poster was even so small. We stated that not everyone could read and she flipped us off disrespectfully. She then went behind the bar and said she’s going to call police when we never refused to pay just asked why we never informed on entry. Shall not be coming back.

The price is rip off. Child buffet price same price as adult price. Adult price is 18 pounds per head same price of my son age of 10 they charging my son price of adult price of 18 Pounds without any kids prices for kids to eat. I recommend never bring your kids to that restaurant because kids prices is totally rip off without any menu prints.

I always enjoy my time at Exceline. The quality and range of Ugandan cuisine is perfect. I always arrive starving so I can properly sample every dish. Thank you for your service and hospitality!

I ate here a couple of weeks ago with my brother who knows the staff well. I have to say that not only is the food very good indeed with generous proportions but also served by a staff who are humorous, hard working and very, very friendly. I will definitely be going back. Thanks for an enjoyable evening in a cosy and friendly restaurant where nothing is too much.

Had a really good dinner here with my son. The smoked beef in groundnut sauce, with matoke (Ugandan staple of mashed plantain) was delicious. Vegetarian son had vegetable side dishes and jollof rice - very nice. Chapatis were excellent- proper East Africa style (ie much better than Indian). The food was freshly cooked, restaurant was clean and smart. Highly recommended for a taste of East Africa

We really enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. The food was FANTASTIC however for a buffet at times there weren't enough options there so waiting for a top up did bring the experience down. Overall great food and great service. Miss Uganda UK team

I went here with high hopes. Owner kept shouting at staff in front of customers, took Ugali away halfway through the meal (it costs 50p to make ffs!) and seemed surly and inhospitable to our group of 15. I was later informed that staff are abused by owners regularly and payments withheld to ensure they return to work in the (empty) hope they will keep returning to work. Google this company for more details. Widespread criticism.

If you are looking for a taste of what Ugandan food is like in London, then this is the place to go. We went for a Sunday takeaway and received such a lovely welcome we stayed for the buffet which was tasty. Food is accommodating to all tastes and would strongly recommend a visit.

Celebrated a joint 50th birthday party at Exceline (private buffet for about 50 people at the restaurant in Leytonstone). We feasted on a mouth-watering and tantalising array of traditional Ugandan food (fried beans, spinach in a peanut sauce, chapati, matooke, plantain / gonja, baked chicken, beef stew and more besides!) Host and waiters were attentive and unobtrusive at the same time. Decor needs a refresh and venue lacks dedicated parking, but there are free spaces in road parallel to High St. A must for lovers of authentic East-African cuisine in a simple setting.

We visited Exceline in search for African food and we were not disappointed. We've been to Shaka Zulu which is in a different league. Exceline is in a lower league as it's but a family run East African cuisine of selective Ugandan dishes like ugali or posho etc..... I recommend it to anyone looking for good and well cooked Ugandan dishes.

I took my family out for an African meal and a friend recommended this restaurant. The outside does not do justice to the restaurant because the ambience was fantastic with a very good selection of Ugandan background music. It didn't matter that I could not understand a word they were singing because the selection was brilliant. The restaurant decor is very tasteful and a single fresh daisy at the table centre was a special touch. One of the challenges I have faced with African restaurants is the lack of clean facilities which is not the case at Exceline. The facilities here are clean and well supplied. The buffet presentation was clean and all the food was appetising. We enjoyed Matoke, ugali, chapati, matumbo and other East African delicacies. Nothing was too much for our waiter Ray who was warm, friendly and went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our meal. Fantastic service and great customer service! The food was absolutely divine! I will definitely be coming back regularly and would highly recommend if you are looking for a true African experience with friendly pricing, fantastic ambiance and great food.

As a Ugandan living in London, this took me back home. We came in on a Thursday, had something from the Ala carte Menu, Tilapia Special. It was amazing food. The Service was great. We plan to return and try other dishes on the menu.

This is a local Ugandan restaurant, where we would like to eat African food once in a while, but each time we visit the food is dry, there is no variety and you wonder what kind of eatery this is.

I used to visit here regularly but after meeting with staff and witnessing the appalling hygiene standards and customer service offered by the owners for myself, I have now joined the mass boycott of this restaurant and it's branches in Leyton and CoventryInfested kitchens, undercooked meat, leftovers served up as fresh and hidden charges on billsThere's better options out there. Now I stick to thatched house and mama jumbes. Check Google for extensive critique

Predominantly Ugandan food...good place to eat if feeling a touch nostalgic! The sunday buffet is a reasonable price. Can be a bit of a wait if ordering from the menu. Exellent catering services.

The worst Nigerian suya I’ve ever ordered. Not only was it frozen, it wasn’t microwaved properly. The puff puff was an eye sore, probably fried a week before and was microwaved atleast six times. The absolute worst and a waste of my money AVOID!!!!!
