Evolution Experience Restaurant in Doncaster

My family came here for my nieces 16th birthday after we had been to the Wildlife park Christmas lights. We were all quite excited about the experience which were soon dashed and I wish we had read these reviews before booking. We were all sat down at the table and despite the restaurant been quite empty, only three other tables and there been about 10 members of staff floating about we had to ask to order. Order was eventually taken and food arrived in a deficient time but was mediocre. The beef burgers were very disappointing , really thin patties that were dry and over cooked my mother left most of hers. At no point through eating did any of the staff approached the table to check if anything was ok or to ask if we needed more drinks despite us having refills. After finishing the meal we sat again waiting to be cleared so we could have deserts, but again no staff came till we asked for the table to be cleared. We had brought a birthday cake with us which the staff did bring out and sing so that was nice, but we never got asked if we wanted deserts and we never got the one that came with the children’s meal. We decided to just ask for the bill and leave. Overall the experience was very disappointing, the food was below average, the service was bad all staff you seem to be young and experienced with no supervisor or manager around. Just before leaving, we did voice a disappointment to staff and we were offered free desserts, but by this point, we were all stood up with a coat on and just wanted to leave. Im quite surprised after reading reviews as the bad ones seems to be consistent for quite a few months and no change seems to have happened.

There's no doubt that this place is all about the experience for children and not the quality of the food. We were a party of nine and there were two that were happy with their meal for the price paid. Vegan option was completely tasteless to the point that the ketchup on the table had to be used to get any sort of discernible flavour, another meal arrived lukewarm. For the price you're paying do yourself a favour and head to a local pub outside the park, you'll get much better value for money. Outside of the food the service was fantastic and the space, full of dinosaurs, flashing lights and sounds, was incredible for the children in the party.

Family Restaurant that serves adults food first before we even got drinks ! It came out so quickly and was tepid ! Kids came last then there’s was red hot ! Ordered a baileys coffee it was cold and returned not much better !

We took our Grandchildren to celebrate one of their birthday's. I understood that it wasn't cheap because of the surroundings and the intervals of entertainment but there was nothing. The food was over priced. The service was slow. The staff kept asking what table number we were. We had to chase up our drink order due to drinks missing, same with the food. We were there for two hours, expecting dinosaurs to appear but nothing. It's notcsomewhere we would revisit. Very disappointing 😞

Terrible food. Cold, gross and expensive. Sent 3 dishes back, 2 came back hot, 1 I asked they didn’t replace. They took this one off the bill. Having said this, the food was the only downfall, the experience, the service and the staff were great.

The facilities are unbelievable, we took our grandkids but the service was poor. They got our drinks order wrong, waited ages for a menu & had to ask 4 times for the childrens ice cream

Arrived to a very quiet restaurant with a few families dining, food orders were taken and 1 of the group almost got missed placing order. The staff seemed a little on edge and not very welcoming. Drinks arrived a short while after ordering. We didn't have to wait long for food however after diving in wasn't to happy with a few meals. One meal of rump steak was really under cooked and just full of fat. I had a burger which tasted awfully and was left. Slaw was heavily covered in mayo and sauce. Chips were good 👍 Kids meals of chicken nuggets seemed okay. A bit over priced for the quality of the meals. Theme of the restaurant was good but was expecting some sort of show and more of an experience as it says on the Internet. We as a family won't return again unfortunately 😕

Came here for an evening birthday party. We were the only people there. Food was nice but it came out really really slowly, staff didn't seem to be overly interested in efficient service. Also had an espresso to end the meal which came out in a huge cup and was almost cold, definitely room for improvement.

Tenía una mesa reservada, pero tuvo que esperar casi 30 minutos en una larga cola para llegar a cualquier lugar cerca de la entrada. Mesa reservada para 3. 30 y se le advirtió que la mesa debía devolverse a las 5. Extremadamente ocupado, gente volando por todas partes. Acabábamos de sentarnos, ni siquiera habíamos tomado nuestros abrigos solos miramos el menú y nos saltaron para un pedido de bebidas! 2 minutos después nos saltaron de nuevo para un pedido de comida, de nuevo no tuvimos oportunidad de mirar el menú, especialmente con un niño en el grupo. Después de eso fuimos ignorados durante 20 minutos. Finalmente pedimos comida y esperamos 45 minutos para que llegara, así que tuvimos unos 20 minutos para comer antes de que la mesa fuera necesaria para otra reserva. La comida de los adultos no estaba mal, el pollo estaba seco pero sabroso, las costillas eran agradables y una buena porción, pero los niños mac & cheese era una abominación! Medio tazón de slop microondas con un trozo muy pequeño de pan fino disquete no vale el 100% de la etiqueta de precio de £ 10. Le pregunté a la joven que trajo la comida si eso era cuestionar la cantidad que su respuesta era "im nueva" y eso fue todo. Más tarde le dijimos esto a otro miembro del personal que preguntó si todo estaba bien con nuestra comida. Esta jovencita era increíble, tan amable y pensativa, que sentí lástima por ella, ya que todo el nuevo personal de Navidad se había soltado en un día extremadamente ocupado con poca o ninguna formación, así que estoy seguro de que esta señora estaba haciendo 3 personas trabajos. Ella amablemente quitó la comida de los niños de la factura. Salimos a las 5. 30 ya que conseguir la cuenta y el helado de los niños que es inc con la comida tomó mucho tiempo. El tema es buenos dinosaurios y la selva por todas partes, pero el gran número de mesas crea caos. Cuando rellenes bebidas necesitas ojos en la nuca esquivando al personal, niños y patentes. Si volvemos al parque de vida silvestre no volveremos a evolucionar pero si lo haces asegúrate de reservar o recibirás una mirada de absoluto disgusto y ninguna posibilidad de una mesa

Bonito entorno, sin embargo, encontramos el precio extorsivo para la calidad de la comida. Mi opinión sería que se basa en una de las visitas turísticas en lugar de dirigirse a clientes repetidos o locales. Tiene potencial con un menú más asequible y variado para estar abierto todo el año en lugar de solo en determinados días de vacaciones escolares, pero era obvio por qué no está lo suficientemente ocupado.

Had a very nice family get together for my birthday. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and we particularly liked our goats cheese pizza and goats cheese salad. Grandson enjoyed hearing and seeing the dinosaurs. Hope to return.

Hex Evolution, la calidad de la comida era muy mala. Las pizzas tienen un precio excesivo por chorrear salsa de tomate dulce y grumos de queso que simplemente se caen, con el pan muy espeso Sobreprecio y mala calidad , no recomendaría en absoluto.

Stayed at Hex hotel for a couple of nights and didn't fancy venturing out for tea after a few hours of driving so decided to give this a whim. Also as it is only open Fri-Sun off season we only had one chance to visit. Front of house was efficient in getting us seated and also the servers were quick to take our order. Food came out surprisingly quick after reading some reviews on here, and was also piping hot. We had 2 different burgers, both were delicious. All the animatronics/effects/ambience around the place seemed to be working which was nice and added some atmosphere, think Rainforest Cafe on a smaller scale. Only taking a point off because we weren't informed about the drinks refills when they were brought to our table and thought the wait staff would do it for you, until we flagged someone down who told us where to do it ourselves (at the pirate ship bar). Yes it's slightly higher priced than other places, £16.50 max for a burger, but all prices have gone up across the board and for the experience too I think it's worth it.

We went here for dinner here whilst staying at the Hive site. I was really impressed with the welcome we received from the front of house staff and the restaurant when we walked in. My two toddlers were amazed by the atmosphere, interactive elements and the immersive lights and sounds. The waitresses were brilliant with taking our orders (which included allergies). The allergy information was detailed and the staff were knowledgable. Would definitely go back again.

Over priced and underwhelming! Food awful but service brilliant

Absolutely amazing place to take my family for our boys 5th birthday. The staff were all polite and made him feel so special on good birthday. Yes the good was overpriced as it’s just your typical pub grub saying that it is very good but also the atmosphere makes up for it. Will happily be coming again for other occasions!!

We had a lovely time here! My 3 year old boy loved it. The food was better than expected although definitely on the pricey side. I also had a passion fruit martini which was very good although the drinks took a while to come to the table (after the food). Overall great experience and worth a visit!

My experience was a mix of positives and areas for improvement. While the ambiance was undeniably charming and offered a unique experience, the food quality was somewhat underwhelming, falling between average and below average. This was particularly noticeable given the relatively high prices, which seemed disproportionate, especially for a venue that caters predominantly to families with children. I believe a more thoughtful approach to pricing could better accommodate larger families. On a brighter note, the service was commendable, with attentive staff contributing to an overall pleasant visit. However, in terms of value for money, the experience did not quite meet expectations.

Service very slow, food average

Atmosphere is fine, but the food is just terrible. And they forgot to bring us an ice cream.

The manager was really kind going above and beyond to help us with an issue we had. My little son was upset and she brightened up his day swapping his toy. Thanks a lot for your empathy. The ambiance of the restaurant and the food looks fantastic too, I’ll definitely book in soon.

We decided to have our meal in Evolution because it was somewhere different. I can honestly say that we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was excellent and hot and very tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We all enjoyed our food and the boys both age 12 really liked the atmosphere and immersive experience. Staff were attentive.

I understand this is a theme, experience restaurant but surely that doesn’t mean abandoning food expectations entirely? Well you might as well, probably the worst food I’ve ever eaten and left hungry after a £60 bill! My son’s vegan hot dog was inedible, mac & cheese tasted like cornflour. Cheap tasting chips and cheese - they certainly weren’t truffle fries! At least my son was over the moon with the dinosaurs and dragons!

I don't get all the negativity on the reviews it's fantastic here. The mini shows that are on adds to an experience with lighting and sound effects the food is outstanding top quality for the maintenance that would have to be put in here it's cheap where in this day and age can you get a experience like this and get top quality food and service the staff really add to the experience especially Erin she really makes people feel welcome and talks to the littles and give them sense of calm it can be overwhelming with everything thank you again to you all

Well.... let's start at the beginning. Front of house was complaining about a booking of 10 and generally looked at our party of 3 like we were an inconvenience. Shown to our table and had to flag down a waiter after 20mins to allow us to order. Daughters food came out wrong, my wife's order was as tough as shoe leather. And yes... kept having to flag people down for service. I can't recollect seing a single member of staff smile or engage in the usual customer service petty chit chat. Food gets two points 1 point for it being warm 1 point for having cutlery However... its not all bad. My daughter loved the robotic dragon.

I have never wrote a review before but I feel like I need to because I feel like I have just wasted £80 yes £80 of my money on a meal that I probably could have had better at Mc Donald’s. I am so disappointed I don’t even know where to start. We ordered food and drinks for 4 proper (2 adults and 2 children) but the food arrived so quickly it arrived before the drinks which I thought was very strange but hey quick service… But our food was cold!!! How can it be cold made in such a quick time I don’t understand? The halloumi fries are NOT halloumi at all…the burger bun was hard and there was a whole gerkin just thrown the plate with some coleslaw it was so weird and definitely wasn’t worth £16.50 don’t get me wrong the kids meals were okay better than the main meals. We love coming to the wildlife park but I don’t think we will be returning to the restaurant anytime soon we have been many times before and was amazing with entertainment but this time it was just wasn’t the same :(

Overall the experience was good. The actual food was pretty bland. The starters were really nice the garlic bread and the mozzarella sticks. However the main meals were just boring. The burger didn't have any taste and the pizza didnt too. I asked for jalapeno's on mine and they forgot so when they came back with it they had literally just popped some on so they weren't cooked into the pizza and were still wet making the pizza soggy. I mean it's saying something when even the salt was tasteless! The service was okay. When the staff came to the tables they were helpful, smiley and polite. However with it mainly being a family/ child oriented place not one member of staff spoke to any of the children when taking my 10 year olds order they asked myself. At the end the lovely lad serving us had noticed that it was our daughters birthday and brought out her icecream on a happy birthday plate, they asked if she wanted a birthday shout out but she didnt which was a lovely touch. There was only one member of staff who was walking round with a smile and we think she was the manager as she had a different top on to the rest. Like I say when speaking to staff they were lovely but they weren't really approachable. They had a disco on, so much more could have been made from the disco it was just some music playing with disco lights. There was a member of staff just sat watching again they didn't once talk to any of the children which it was a kids disco I would have thought they would have communicated with them. The actual restaurant is a brilliant idea and there is plenty to see and the overall experience was really good. The flashing lights and the thunder were brilliant as was the dinosaur that appeared from no where😂 Just need the staff to smile a bit more!

We have visited this restaurant a few times since it opened so have experienced the general decline in all areas. It is such a shame as the original concept included a very interactive show with a captain on the boat, wandering actors with dinosaurs and entertainers. Now it’s a very poor light show with a bit of smoke. Nothing like the photographs so for visitors using these as a guide you will be very disappointed. I booked on line and confirmed on the day as I didn’t receive confirmation. When we arrived they couldn’t find my booking so we were pushed on a table right at the back. The starters other than chicken wings were inedible and when I fed this back the server admitted others had said the same and yet they were still being served. There were problems with our main meal which took forever and then arrived cold. We mostly left the food. I did complain to the manager who comped the meal but I would much rather have had a good experience than a free meal which we didn’t eat anyway. And £6.50for a glass of wine! It’s Doncaster not Dubai…. I feel for people working here as the manager blamed the server, the server blamed the kitchen so not a no blame culture here. The servers I felt tried hard but let down by the apparent chaos. A restaurant geared up for families shouldn’t take over an hour to serve a main course. The response from Doncaster wildlife seems to be we take your comments and learn however they clearly don’t. It’s really sad as we are quite local and would visit but not ever again now. Overpriced, disappointing food with a limited menu. I hope they have a rethink and re introduce the original concept.

After an excellent day in the park and being impressed with our hotel room this was a big let down. Terrible service and average over priced food. Booked a table for 6pm knowing we'd have a tired little boy after a day in the park so aimed to be out for bed by 7.30pm, service was slow/none existant- we were almost certainly forgotten about until asked where our food was at 7pm, it finally arrived at 7.30pm- cue a very tired, hangry child. We were offered a discount to be fair but wouldn't visit again now after the experience. Also definitely not the immersive experience you see advertised ie no actors or even waiting staff dressed up, a few moving dinosaurs and loud music. Disappointing as thought this would be a great end to our trip.

This restaurant is fantastic absolutely. We loved decorations, atmosphere,music ,sounds of birds , dinosaur's, moving objects etc. Even for parent's it was ''wow''effect . Service is great, polite, helpful. Food was grate ,we all enjoyed, definitely would come again.

Looking at previous reviews from months ago, I saw none of the amazing images that are in photos so either they have scaled back, or everything is broke? I went this week and they were sound effects but that’s about it. The communication between front of house and staff is zero, so you could potentially be sat a while before you are asked if you want a drink/food. The food was over priced, frozen rubbish, the drinks were basic (I.e no garnish in cocktails/gin etc) and everything just seems a little unorganised, messy, unprofessional and very basic. The staff where friendly enough, but the place lacked no atmosphere considering it is marketed as an “experience”

Attended a child's birthday party. We chose nachos for starter which were awful - cold, bottle- squeezed cheese sauce instead of melted cheese - couldn't eat them. Then I had full rack of ribs but there was very little meat on them and about 3 inches of the rib was inedible as all the ribs were sort of fused together by what looked like the spine . We should have complained at the time but we had had a pint of cider spilt over us by the waiter, had to move tables, had to sit in wet clothes, had to wait for 2 pizzas which didn’t come until everyone else had eaten their meal plus no-one came to ask us the food was OK. If they had, it would have prompted me to say it wasn't. The service wasn't great apart from one waitress. The place itself is great for kids hence 5 stars for atmosphere.

Amazing place with real life animals that move and make noise, great for little ones without being too scary! Food was fab and come very quick, quicker than drinks 😂 but once mentioned come right away. Staff were fab and accommodating. Will defo revisit!

We attended for our daughter’s birthday, upon arrival we were greeted by an enthusiastic American/Canadian woman. I didn’t get her name she was excellent exactly the person you would want to be your first contact. We were shown to our seats a short time later a young man came and took our order for food and drinks. Another male server brought our drinks to the table passing our drinks to us by the rim of the glasses (an absolute no no) I had to go to the bar and request a clean glass, you’d have thought I’d asked for the contents of the till the was the bartender looked at me! We sat chatting for about 10-15 minutes before our food arrived myself and my Father in law had both ordered the Captain’s Combo £25.00 each when it arrived both were incomplete so we had to request the rest of the meal our daughters meal was also incomplete. We didn’t receive any further check back on our meals. Once we had finished we sat for just under 45 minutes with our dirty plates in front of us, being fed up of waiting we had to go and interrupt 3 servers conversation and ask them to clear the table. We were asked if we’d like to see the dessert menu we said yes, after about 15-20 we had to go and ask if we could have the dessert menus we’d been offered. The desserts arrived about 15 minutes later, the overall quality of the food was that of a basic pub menu and very poor value for money. Having not seen anyone that appeared to be in charge we passed on our feedback to the server, his response was to take £2 off the bill for the items missing from our daughter’s meal. Average food further let down by horrific service, I would hate to see how they cope on a busy service in peak season. Had I been asked to pay what I thought the experience deserved £70 would have been very generous so to have been over double that was a very bitter pill to swallow. Some basic etiquette and basic customer service training would benefit the place massively. We love YWP but would find somewhere else to eat if we stayed over again, it really did take the shine off what was a lovely weekend.

We really enjoyed all our meals, all good was hot and tasty and great service! Wine was a good quality too. All had different burgers and was good portions and tasty. We got free bingo as we were hotel guests which was good fun. The theme is really good and would definitely recommend and come back soon.

Billed as “an immersive dining experience” it was vastly oversold. The website says it’s where HMS Beagle meets Jurassic island meets dragons and caves. In the 90minutes we spent in the restaurant, we saw 1 person in pirate/nautical dress and our server didn't play up to the theme of the restaurant either. 4 animatronic dinosaurs, 2 illuminated dragons and a video wall occasionally came to life along with some lighting effects. The videos showed aerial acrobatics and stage performances throughout the meal. None of this happened during the time we were there - which for 4pm on a school holiday Saturday seems like it would be prime time for an immersive experience. On to the food it was mediocre at best and overpriced in the context of no accompanying atmosphere and entertainment.. 4 adults and 2 children ordering mains only with one round of 4 drinks (the rest waters) was £145. We didnt stop for dessert and instead went to the gelato bar across the square where the waffle outshone the entire meal at Evolution.

Excellent atmosphere. Not what I expected. Very good. Decent food. That you could argue was a little expensive if viewed on its own. But when taking into account the setting and effects it's are worth it. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Food average at best, but you pay over the odds for it. No entertain anymore, so it doesn’t warrant the extra cost! Whilst the theming of the place will hold young children’s interest a bit, it is disappointing for the price. Service not particularly fast either, but may have been due to lack of staff, so if anything feel a little for those that are there. Unfortunately would not return.

We have been wanting to go here for a while, finally we decided to treat the kids to a visit. And was an absolute shame. This is not an "experience" it's a themed restaurant at best, kind half hearted with very little in regards to entertainment for kids. Food was not great. Its quite pricey and way below a chain pub standard. I had to send my chicken back, it was so dry and over done, likely reheated and had no taste. Have to say the waitress was great and understood. I replaced for a burger thinking you can't get that wrong. I was wrong, dry hard Bun, measly patty and dismal filings. The corn on thr cob was awful and cold and the slaw... bitter chunks of cabbage with mayo. Kids good was OK, but we weren't brought the starters which we didn't realise until we saw on the bill. Partners ribs were tough and bland. We weren't offered any discount. It's a shame as this should be a good place and provide a full "experience " . Won't be visiting again, there is no way that this was a one off quality issue.

The pizzas used to by loads better, feel like the food has gone downhill but has also become more expensive.

We went to the dinosaur section before and thought we would try the dragon side...omg it is rubbish in comparison. £15 for burger and chips which is one up from wetherspoons. Why didn't you make an effort on that side like the Dino side? Really disappointed, and the price is obscene for what was supposed to be a lovely meal together. Plus, to make it worse the friendly waitress was all over us like a rash, bearing in mind it was a birthday meal, and before two people even finished she was there removing other plates like she wanted to rush us out. Where else do you take half the tables plates away when we were still chewing our food and putting down knives and forks. We won't be in a rush to go back, it's just not worth it and I felt annoyed I could have had burger and chips anywhere else for cheaper minus the screen showing a snoring dragon and occasional two green eyes lighting up the dragon.

We took our two year old for his birthday wirh family. It was our first visit and didn’t know what to expect. The food was good and they made it extra special by singing to him. The interactive dinosaurs and dragons were on par with going to a Disney experience Great value and will certainly be back again.

Worst waste of £120 ever. The food was processed slapdash ready meals. Although there’s “scenery it doesn’t stop it feeling like you are in an animatronics warehouse rather than having an experience. Really disappointed by this place. My little girl loves dinosaurs so we thought she would love it. She was bored very quickly

Sadly our first visit here wasn't as great as we had hoped. Especially as it was for my birthday. Our table had a serious wobble which I asked for assistance with, sadly that never happened so we had to spend the entirety sitting straight with our feet holding down the table. The food was OK, we both had the combo meals so for the price expected something yummy, very basic and not to the standard we thought. The tables around us were all covered with plates and dirty dishes. The 2 servers we had interactions with sadly seemed a bit disinterested in their jobs and one of them even said not to bother with pudding as 'he wouldn't either due to the rubbish choice'... Really disappointed as we had it planned for quite a while.

If you like the food in Wetherspoons then you’ll like it here. The most underwhelming, overpriced place I have ever set foot in. If your child is 5 or under …they may be impressed by the occasional moving dinosaur but that’s about it. A total waste of money

New Years Day. Initia6had difficulties with online table reservation not available for a party of 7 people? Reserved 1 × Table for 4 but then unable to Reserve same time for 3, though OK for 2? I concluded the odd number in a party was the difficulty. Anyway, expectations were a little low, adding its NYD and YWP HAS winter Illuminations event, this could be busy? How wrong, received a warm and helpful welcome, found a table for 7, no issue, Excellent service from a young lady (J). Food was prompt, plentiful, and tasty. Overall value for money. Left with a smile we'll be back

Great atmosphere, above average food, but really expensive.

Last time we visited YWP there was no availability at the restaurant so I booked early this time (4 adults, 3 teens). The environment was amazing, something totally different and I felt like a child again. The menu is limited but there is something for everyone and it was delicious so I really don't mind (not the cheapest but it was a special occasion and its not like we will be going weekly). There was a problem with our meals when they arrived out but I can honestly say I have never seen any restaurant deal with a mistake so quickly and with a genuine apology. The food was tasty and most importantly hot!!

My granddaughter loved it. The food was hot and arrived quickly. They accommodated a request for being seated earlier. The booking on line was fast and easy to do.

This place is ideal for kids partys plenty going on for them , We went early evening there were quite a few families in besides our party of 10. Couldnt fault the the staff , very efficient and we were served quickly , the food however leaves a bit to be desired . Very basic , burger and chips and a dollop of coleslaw at £16-50 is a bit steep , ribs @ £20 and very run of the mill pizzas. That said we enjoyed our visit and will go again and take the hit on the food , something different for the grandkids , they had a great time .

Incredible surprise, beyond my expectations with the atmosphere and environment. Love the background musics and soundtracks. Amazing food and prices, and definitely more than enough variety to choose and share. We have been served by the charismatic amazing waiter Josh, he definitely made the cherry on top with the experience. And of course, don’t forget to get the dessert selection, the sweetness lasts for days !! Definitely looking forward to come here again.

Great features/setting which was the best of the experience. Expensive prices with average (but nice) food. All service/waiters and waitresses were absolutely lovely and Natasha went out of her way to ensure she got an admittedly rather picky order correct. Wrong side was brought out but was quickly resolved by staff. However, shortly after finishing our food we were told that the manager had told the waitress to bring our bill and basically encourage us to leave before we had even finished our drinks. This felt rude and a little embarrassing considering the place wasn’t busy, we had spent an extortionate amount of money for what was provided and other families had been there longer than us, which ultimately ruined the experience and left a sour taste. We do not know why we were rushed out by management and that the waitress had to do this on behalf of them but it totally ruined it. Great floor staff, decent food, rather high prices and a disappointing ending forced by management therefore sadly wouldn’t return.

Booked for my Toddlers birthday. The lady who booked the table over the phone was lovely in getting us in last minute and I really appreciated that. We had a table of 11 of us the waiter who took our order did a fabulous job as we all were paying in different groups. No fault there at all. The people bringing the food out were getting extremely confused over burgers which meant a lot of switching around. They also forgot to mention that the coleslaw was vegan as my friend had an egg allergy so we scraped it off even though she could of eaten it.( The allergen menu is really helpful though). On two separate occasions we were interrupted as the staff couldn't find the right tables for other people and thought it was ours. We were going to have dessert but the staff took an extremely long time so we ended up going to the bar to pay and leave. Ended up at the ice cream parlor over the other side. 3 toddlers were present and even after saying crayons would be brought over they never were. They have toddler cutlery but these don't get brought out with the meal so please ask if you need them. All this when the restaurant wasn't even busy it was very quiet. Considering the meal price the food is not very nice and not worth it. The interior is AMAZING!. So just order a pizza or something to enjoy the cool lights and dragons.

Waitress went missing for ages and ages. Had to go up and order our first drinks after waiting 20 mins after being seated . Brought out the wrong food to start . Waitress went missing again, so after 30 mins of us finishing our mains I had to go order more drinks and ask for a desert menu. Place is amazing looking but the service has gone really down hill. Such a shame .

we had a lovely time here after a disappointing trip to the wildlife park - I am a wheelchair user and Jay was so accommodating, he made sure we had a table with plenty of room and that we would be able to get to it easily. The venue is already very accessible but to have a server go above and beyond made my night! I’m also an ambulatory wheelchair user meaning I can get in and out, and having Jay ask if I wanted to stay in my wheelchair or sit at the table meant a lot to me as people often assume that all wheelchair users are paralysed. It really goes to show the commitment to accessibility and what a lovely server Jay (and all the other staff we talked to) was. The food was also great, and the atmosphere was great - not too overwhelming but very nostalgic (and better than a rainforest cafe in my opinion!). Definitely a disability + family friendly location - thank you Jay!

Absolutely outstanding service! We went for our son's 4th birthday and they went above and beyond to make his day very special and something to remember. A massive thank you to all the staff. The atmosphere was brilliant with moving dinosaurs, visuals and sounds effects to keep the children entertained. And finally the food was great and a decent value for money.

Couldnt recommended evolution enough, food was beautiful and the whole restaurant was decorated amazingly, we enjoyed the sound effects and robotic dinosaurs. Amazing for kids and adults, staff were lovely. I understand the experience is the big draw in this place, but the food is extremely poor. I have had better quality food in weatherspoons at half the price. The service was also average when changing a premium price, I would expect higher quality food.

Booked for a 3rd and 11th birthday on a Friday night and was so sad that the live entertainment was none existent and apparently now only occurs for special events e.g halloween, school hols) - this is the USP of the venue and it felt underwhelming compared to our last visit. There were not enough staff, we tried to call to say we might be 5 mins late due to the roadworks near mount-pleasant , no one answered and no one was on the desk to greet customers either. After waiting 5 minutes we entered the restaurant and a lady advised us there was only three staff on. Our waitress was lovely as was the young lad serving the adjacent table - they were the best thing about the visit today. There was one questionable older Staff member who wanted to complain about the poor staffing and the fact that she doesn't like kids or the noise - we hadn’t even got our drinks at this point so it wasnt the best first impression and my children’s grandfather was not impressed. Service was quick. Food was substandard for the price tag and given the reduced entertainment offer it doesn’t warrant the cost. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend to anyone based on todays visit and management need to improve their holistic hospitality offer.

I can't even describe how much my 9 year old enjoyed this place. The only place we have been to similar, was at Disney world! The staff were so friendly and patient with the kids. If your child likes dinosaurs I would highly recommend. Definitely a big shout out to the two entertainers and their puppets. We were told it was a long wait for food because of new staff training but it went in a blink thanks to these 2 girls. We took his iPad just incase he got bored waiting and he didn't even glance at it 🙌🏻.

The experience here is really good, our daughter loved it and was mesmerised the entire time we were there. I guess that's what you pay for as the food wasn't great. If this was a 'normal' restaurant id have been really disappointed with the prices, but based on the overall experience its probably just about justified.

We love this place! It may seem like it meant for children, but you'd be wrong. We were 4 full grown adults loving the dinosaurs, having a cocktail and waiting to head into the YWP to see the animals 😀 The food is great, the staff are friendly and happy and the atmosphere is fabulous because you're surrounded by dinosaurs!

Younger children will love the place......dinosaurs walking around, pitate on stilts......but the food is frankly quite awful. Don't go if your kids are over 10 and you actually want to eat something decent......

We booked here as my son loves dinosaurs. It’s not a cheap meal out, but we got a 20% off voucher on the Yorkshire wildlife park app- so keep an eye! The theming is phenomenal!! We absolutely couldn’t fault it. Our server was friendly and explained it all to us. Our son loved the moving dinosaurs, and his highlight was when t-rex came out. If your littles are easily scared by changing lights or moving dinosaurs, this isn’t for you! It is very dark inside- this adds to the theming, but again, be aware with timid little people! And there are a lot of children- so if you’re not a lover of children walking around your table, again, not for you. Food is pricey, and it’s not the biggest menu, however the food we had was phenomenal!! And huge portions. We were disappointed with the kids meal in comparison. They were standard, but for the price really should have pudding or drink included- £8 for children’s nuggets chips and beans is a lot, and my son left a lot of it. If we were in the area again, we would definitely give it another go, as the over all experience is amazing, but it is loud so be aware of this before going!
