Miller & Carter in Doncaster

Had a lovely dinner with my husband last night. We shared the cote de boef as part of their 3 course set menu, king prawns and calamari to start and cookie pie to end our meal on a sweet note. Everything was delicious, and service by lovely Rachel was very prompt. We ll be back

Visited Miller & Carter Doncaster recently, and while the food itself was good, the service left a lot to be desired. The wait time between courses was far too long, making the meal feel dragged out. Throughout the evening, staff never came around to ask if we wanted more drinks, which was frustrating. When our food finally arrived, we were asked if we wanted any sauces, but despite requesting them, they never actually brought them over. The experience was further soured when it came time to pay. We were asked how much we wanted to tip, and after selecting 0% due to the poor service, we noticed that a 10% service charge had already been added to the bill—meaning we were essentially being asked to tip on top of a tip! At that point, we just wanted to leave and didn’t bother questioning it, but it felt misleading and awkward. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the slow service and lack of attention to detail made for a disappointing experience. Would think twice before returning.

We had a fantastic family meal at Miller & Carter, and it was a special occasion as it was my mother-in-law and brother-in-law’s first visit. Gosia and Max made the experience even better with their outstanding service—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They made sure we all felt welcome, and my in-laws were truly impressed. Thank you both for making our visit so memorable!

Had a lovely meal last night All really good from the booking process to leaving the car park

We like to visit M&C as a treat and decided on the 13th Feb for Valentines. The girl serving up was a little too attentive to my husband for my liking, which came off as really quite disrespectful. Usually we love the food and always go for the same but this time it was just alright. Not sure why but we both felt the same. Atmosphere nice as usual and the bill was as expected.

Maddie was our server and provided excellent service and knowledge, steaks were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented by Laura and our drinks were delicious and hand crafted by excellent bar staff

Our visit was very pleasant, the food was exceptional and our waitress Paige was lovely and very attentive.

We visited for Valentine’s Day, our server was Gosia. I truly believe Gosia made the experience worth while, she was incredible - made us feel welcome and 100% a friendly host! She informed us on which meals suits our preference which turned out perfect. The man at the door, who welcomed and seated us, served pleasant and comedy banta. The whole experience was amazing and we will be returning! The only complaint I have is turnaround time. It took over 15 mins for drinks to arrive, though it was very busy.

As always absolutely brilliant. With me being gluten free is very rare to find a place that you can experience a full menu and you are not made to feel the odd one. My husband and I love this restaurant

Special shoutout Megan who was our steak expert / server. Also to Shane and Dan who created the magic in the kitchen! I won't be leaving it so long to return!! Superb steaks!!! The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food they're serving. You tell them how you like your steak and they'll recommend one for you. This is a high quality restaurant and (whilst not the cheapest) is exceptional value. Will definitely be returning.

Upon arrival, Tom greeted us at the front desk and initially told us there was a table available for two. However, his attitude suddenly changed, and he refused us entry, stating that our attire—track suit tops—did not meet the dress code. We found this surprising, as we were wearing hoodies due to the cold weather (4°C) over white shirts, along with smart-casual chinos and trainers. Despite this, Tom’s behavior became quite rude, which made the experience even more frustrating. Ironically, his own attire—a scruffy suit with no tie and an unkempt appearance—seemed less in line with the restaurant’s dress standards than ours. I had high expectations given Miller & Carter’s reputation, but this visit was disappointing. I hope management takes customer service concerns seriously and ensures consistency in dress code enforcement and staff professionalism to maintain the high standards the restaurant is known for.

Been here many times, but the quality has gone down every day, the staff are not friendly. Family of 4, ordered 4 steaks, waited 1 hour and 35 minutes for the food to arrive, all 4 steaks were cold, dry, and tasteless (we ordered medium rare). Even the sauce that came with it was cold. Reported to the waitress, she asked if we wanted to put it back on the grill to heat it up? It's funny, if the steak is reheated, will it still be medium rare or overcooked? We refused, left the food unfinished and spent nearly £200. Definitely won't be back.

Wonderful night had all veggie dishes lovely my wife's birthday she was well looked after, only disappointment was sitting on a bench repaired with black duck tape , out of place for the whole experience

Brilliant meal cooked to perfection well worth a trip there not bad price for the butchers block which is steaks cooked really well, Megan was our waitress and was lovely and told us everything about how the steaks are cooked definitely be going back lovely pub and restaurant.

Fabulous visit - everything we needed when we needed it. The food was amazing. Mihaela was great, very friendly and didn't rush or pester us - we were left to enjoy our meal in peace but we got the attention when we needed it.

We had the 3 course set lunch at 28.95 .started with prawns and were very impressed with the portion size .prawns large and juicy main courses were the burger and camembert and spinach pie. The burger was juicy tasty and very filling .topped with a lovely cheese . Disappointed in the side salad to be truthful. Requested instead of fries .it was the smallest ever side salad seen. Served in a tiny dish and would have passed as dressing rather than side salad . Shame because the couscous and pomegranate dropped on top were tasty. Would have liked to actually have more than 1 teaspoon of it. The pie was in lovely pastry and again tasty but you have to play hunt the vegetables. The dessert course we chose brownie and coffee with mini creme brulee both delicious. The food was lovely but the meaness of serving of veg and side salad made you feel something had been missed. Our server was wonderful. Extremely friendly and kind and when a mistake was made on the bill she spotted it first and had it corrected before we had to say anything. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Tables are spaced out enough to prevent you feeling squished out. Tableware is classic. The toilets are upstairs unless you wish to use the disabled facilities. Plenty of outdoor parking .

Megan was a fantastic waitress, very attentive all evening and the food was lovely and came quickly despite the restaurant being busy.

Sat on the chair next to a bar enjoying my food just to see the bar lady placing a basket of cleaned glassware which is all ready to go on shelves on top of a wheelie bin behind the bar and then starting to unload them on the shelves.

We usually really enjoy here and I would normally give this place a 4 star rating at least. Unfortunately it wasn’t the same this time around. We are a family of three and all ordered steaks. My son’s chips came cold and my whole meal was like warm, but my steak wasn’t even the slightest warm. I asked for my meal to be changed due to this and they brought me the same meal back that had been warmed up! Whilst I appreciate them trying to not waste meat, the meal couldn’t be warmed up to the right temperature without ruining how I ordered my steak. I had previously had this discussion with the waitress so I did expect them to bring a fresh meal out and I instead received the same meal which was still cold and had been thrown about and put back on my plate. 🫣 I really don’t think this is acceptable for the prices you pay here the one meal in total would have cost me £40 so it should have been served warm or at least replaced properly when I complained. The management staff were great and did refund the money which I appreciate is all they could do but I do think going forward you should replace the meals correctly, if people are paying that much money for them and you are at fault. Very clean and welcoming, greeted at the door. All the staff are exceptional. Food very good

Went on a Saturday early evening 6:30pm. Greeted politely butwe were 5 mins early our table was not quite ready. We were given a device to alert us. We went to the bar for a drink. The bar area is very small so we had to stand. Luckily not for long. The table we were allocated was in a very busy & noisy area. Servers and customers were passing by us sooo often which was a little annoying. Also the flood light from the car park was blaring through the window so I had to switch seats. Our server Paige is such a lovely young lady. Very polite and communicated with us (all) really well. She made the ‘not so great’ start much much better. She explained the menu very well and asked about allergies etc. she was attentive throughout checking the food was to our liking & if we needed more drinks. I had the surf n turf fillet medium rare. It was delicious although a little on the cold side I do prefer food Hot the lobster tail was also only tepid in temperature. I guess with steaks they do let it rest but I’d expect the lobster to be hot (at least). My son had the rump (medium rare) and he said it was really lovely & the right temperature; my husband the T-bone; again not hot (just warm) but was cooked as we’d asked for and was very tasty. Disappointed they no longer offer the ranch with croutons dressing. Decided to opt for bacon & mustard and it was not to my liking very sour n spicy. The Cabernet Sauvignon red wine is sooo good I had an extra glass. The crème brûlée is to die for defo recommend that! Last but not least the car park is a little small - we ended up being blocked in so my husband had to take the cars reg number and go back inside to ask staff to find the car owner to come out and shift it! Overall despite the few annoyances we experienced we dud really enjoy it.

Good service but food was not hot. All of it. We did comment on it but regretfully did not send it back. Even though steak was very tender we weren't sure what temperature medium steak served. 🤔. We were slightly disappointed.

Such a great experience. There is an amazing atmosphere in the whole restaurant and all the servers provided lovely and polite service all throughout our meal! The drinks here taste amazing as well.

We absolutely love Miller & Carter. We were a bit disappointed with the cocktails this time (december). I know menus have to change, but they removed the best cocktails, tried a few others, but we weren't impressed with them

Good food as always. Steak was cooked to perfection. Price of sides was reasonable 3 for a tenna you can share those sides for a couple maybe 3. Starters are very big portions. So weigh up what your there for. If your going big on steak choose wisely lol

Food was amazing! The recommendations for the cooking of the steak are spot on and the steak itself (I had the ribeye) is insane. The seafood is also great, my highlights being the lobster and the squid which was fresh and delicious. We were served by Maddie all evening and she did a great job making sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive.

Food was Ben issy moe. I was thoroughly stuffed after, by the food. Although the atmosphere was definitely what held it back as the table behind us had the most high pitch screams every 3 minutes on the dot. Other than that it was fire. Would recommend. Maddie was a legend, and the rest of our table said she slayed, whatever that means.(I know what it means)

My wife and I decided to have a Friday treat at Lunchtime, (..at the same time, see where they would be seating us the next week for a Birthday Dinner for 12..).After a lovely welcome by Mike,(..our Server to be..),and, I’m guessing, his Boss..We were shown to our Table and proceeded to have a lovely 3-Course Lunch, superbly looked after by Mike, who was polite, attentive and very Professional.We have been here several times and I can say that the Steaks here are as Good, if not better than anywhere else I can certainly think of.Looking forwards to next week.👍☺️.Thanks Mike.

Lovely and quiet, relaxed environment. We had Mike for our server who was lovely and we received complimentary birthday ice cream which was a lovely surprise. The lunch menu is great value option

The service was impeccable due to our lovely waitress Charlotte and the food was lovely and could not recommend an enough of this place and this amazing woman Charlotte for making our experience fabulous. We will definitely be coming again and hope to have Charlotte once more.

We had steak expert Lizzie ,Grill chef Alex and Bartender Robyn . Amazing experience. Mine was Black" RARE TREAT MENU" Angus ribeye medium and partners Black Angus sirloin medium raw . So juicy and tasty meat. Great atmosphere ,lovely waitress and we never had to wait for anyone ,everything just in time. Will come back again .🤩🤩🤩
