Exellent restaurant with friendly staff and great tasty foods. The service was polite and attentive. The food was delicious and priced well. This is a great place for pre-theatre meal, excellent in every way - service, value, ambiance, food.

Food was very good and portions very ample. The atmosphere is very nice...good for large groups dining together. Service is much to be desired...slow and our waiter was inefficient.....but a great place if you have a lot of time to spend over drinks and dinner.

Went here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. They placed us right next to the door so every time anyone went in or out there was a huge blast of cold air making it extremely unpleasant. We had our coats on throughout the meal and blankets they gave us when we complained but they would not move us. Why on earth have tables right next to the door if there is no protection from the elements. We might as well have sat outside. The place was busy and the staff just could not cope, we waited ages to place our order from a set menu, even longer to order drinks. When the drinks did eventually arrive, they told us they only had one of the bottles of wine we ordered instead of the 2 we requested. when we complained that they should have told us that first, miraculously another bottle (in fact 4 as we ordered more later) appeared. We had no choice but to stay there as it was Friday night, there were 10 of us, it was 8.30 pm - where else would we have gone? Spoiled the Birthday celebration hugely, they hardly acknowledged there was a problem! Food got cold really quickly, most of us only ate half our mains, and had to ask for bread several times when we could find a waiter who would come anywhere near us (was probably too cold to come to that end of the restaurant). Toilets were disgusting, littered with rubbish, with no paper towels to dry hands. We Spent £450 in the restaurant and it was one of the worst experiences we have had in London by a long shot. It has sadly become one of those places that can't be bothered and relies on tourists because they will only ever come here once. One of the waiters even said complain on tripadviser if you want us to do anything about it!!!! A little too late for us (and them - we will never go back, shame as it was one of our favorites).

I ve been to the restaurant yesterday for a dinner with a few friends and im sorry to say that we had a terrible experience. Poor service and really bad management. None took care about us. Delays and poor service and no apologies for the service. Don't waste your time!

First visit with a Turkish friend who had been to another branch. Our halibut steak was rank and disgusting at the first bite!!! The rest of the dishes, we decided to go for several starters after our disgusting fish. However none of the dishes had any flavour, weren't hot, and presented badly. My Turkish friend was highly disappointed as was I. The place was busy with customers and I can't imagine why. When we complained about our food it too ages for the manager to appear and he was highly defensive and kept saying no one else in the restaurant has a problem with their food!!! Wow!!!My Turkish friend said that for Turkish food the quality was unacceptable... The response was 'oh well' this is what it is!!He wouldn't let us tell him what we thought was wrong he just threw a card on the table and said get in touch with head office and 'offered' that we don't pay the service fee!!! Suffice to say we won't be back, our starter of honours we had at Waterloo at The Natural Kitchen tasted far better than the 'food' being served at this joint!Save your money and time and go elsewhere!

Visited here with a large group of friends for a late lunch. First impressions were positive, the restaurant looked really nice.First shock was the price of drinks. One half of soda water and lime and one half of soda water was £3.90. I've heard all the recent arguments about overheads etc, but the place was almost empty apart from us and we were having a meal, not just drinks/taking up space! We opted for the set lunch. Ended up paying £25 for this with service charge. They set out bread and olives. Then there is a meze of starters- different dips and salads. Staff came round and put one falafel and one filo parcel on your plate. One! I had the chicken kebab for main. Four or five pieces of meat on a bed of something oniony. Think I spotted a potato too! For goodness sake, for that price boil up some blooming rice or something! I don't mind spending money on a decent meal, but this fell far short. I won't visit again and wouldn't recommend.

I've been to this restaurant three times now. All three times with the same girlfriend, each time we meet we think we should try somewhere new but the food is so great in Ev we can't bear to go anywhere else!!! We ordered the typical Turkish mezes, we had the vegetarian selection. Absolutely delicious from stuffed vine leaves to tatziki and houmous to delicious cous cous. Outstanding! Service is always excellent, very polite and efficient. Keep up the great work we will be back again and again, of that I am sure.

I have been to this restaurant many times, and I have to say that unless they bring the quality of food back as it used to be I will not visit again. I already had a poor experience last year when the only "selection" was a set menu presented on a laminated sheet!!!Saturday night the restaurant was half full and the bar almost empty, in indication that a lot of people are not returning. We had fried calamari for starter, they were not made fresh but reheated, the borek was not silky and piping hot, again something that had been reheated.I had lamb cubes with bulgur, there was a mix of liver and meat, very cheeky! The bill came up to £35 per person too expensive for the quality of food we had considering that we only had a glass if wine with our meal.

I was invited to a corporate Christmas dinner at Ev and was told where to find it. I turned up to a lively and interesting restaurant built under a bridge. The place was heaving with parties everywhere. It was so lively. The restaurant was well organised considering the volume of people. The food was delicious and plenty of it, so much so that we struggled to finish it all. Drinks arrived on time and cocktails were in large glasses which meant you got a proper drink rather than just a taste. All in all it was a brilliant evening with excellent food and drink in the lovely place. Top notch baklava and apricots stuffed with cream.

Came here in December with a mix of customers and colleagues for a Xmas meal, although the venue is really nice. I found the food poor ( chicken dish) was soo dry I could not eat it and it could also have had something to do with the poor condition of the toilets as they were DISGUSTING at 19:00pm.

Had Sunday lunch here by chance on the way to a World Cup game at Twickenham. The restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived around 12.30 and it is a very dining large area. However, it filled a little as we ate so we didn't feel too lonely. We both chose a typical Turkish style group menu and shared them. The lamb dish was particularly good washed down by a reasonably priced bottle of Malbec. Service was good and well paced and helpful with the complications of the menu.

We needed a restaurant equi-distant for both my sons as I was on a family visit and my daughter-in-law chose this for its ease of location for us all, and because she had eaten at the sister TAS restaurants. We all like Turkish/middle eastern food and as a party of two vegetarians and two carnivores, it was ideal. We had the set menu, and the shared mezze for 4 was terrific, and very plentiful. There was a large and varied menu, and the choices on the set one reflected it, and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had. The outside (even on a wet and windy November evening) looked most attractive, and the huge, cavernous interior was also freshly decorated, and not too OTT on the middle eastern theme. It was virtually empty when we arrived at 7.30, but quickly filled up and was soon absolutely rammed, with both large and small groups. There was a buzzy atmosphere, and despite being so busy, the service was fine. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and we gave the whole experience a collective thumbs up for a very jolly family evening. D-in-L is of middle Eastern ancestry, and thought the food very good.

A significant Birthday came up and the family got together for Saturday Lunch at ev. A really good choice. Ten adults and two young girls. The place is bright and spacious and made up for a really horrible rainy day. Everyone was pleased with their food and the service was superb. The waiters were excellent, dealing with a lot of faffing around while people chose from the menu. They were extremely patient and considerate - they disposed of the buggies and gave the girls highchairs. Great for families. This isn't just for families/large groups. Anyone would enjoy it. Had a lovely time - thank you.

Quirky location underneath the arches of Waterloo East railway station. Close to Southwark underground station, The Old Vic, and New Vic theatres. The Turkish cuisine is excellent and the lunchtime menu very reasonable. The arches add to the atmosphere, and the attentive staff make it a pleasant experience.

Catching up with old friends in London, this restaurant was selected because of the Southwark railway station nearby, which allowed both couples easy access.Set under the arches of an old railway viaduct, in a row of other restaurants, this one stood out for its decor and creative use of foliage to screen the outside world and transport you to Istanbul... well, almost! We grazed, as one of party was a regular and knew the menu well. Lots of small plates around the £5 to £6 mark, our table of four got through 10 of these, and that was plenty for lunch. We indulged on the wine, three bottles of Macon Village at £24 each was a bit naughty, but hey, it was summer and lunch and nobody was driving. With water, coffees and the odd beer, it worked out at £42 a head. Plenty of room for large groups, indoor and outdoor tables, friendly staff.... worth a trip.

This was our third visit. We had Seafood Pasta which was excellent and plentiful. My husband had Baklava to follow which was equally as delicious but, the Apple tart failed to impress at all- far too much thick pastry! The service was variable with our first waiter lacking in presence and customer service (he didn't seem to understand that serving Americano with cream, that it should be down to the customer to add to the coffee!) and we had to wait for cutlery!!!!The nice lady at the desk did however take the Apple tart off the Bill.

Some great reviews for Ev which led me to their door. My experience was OK but generally characterised by a lack of any connection with the staff who were not that keen to engage. This is important to the loner - I eat alone in a lot of restaurants as a business traveller - it's really nice when staff take even a few seconds out to chat. No one did that and no one asked if my food was OK.The ambience is OK, it's beneath the railway so you get to enjoy the trains rumbling overhead. I prefer to eat "out of the way" so not that happy with being plonked in the middle of the floor. I did look around and there aren't really any secluded spots for the more secretive eater or couple. The food itself was good, the Kofte starter was nice but dry. I had a tomato salad which didn't live up to my expectations - just coarsely chopped beef tomato with only a hint of the additional herbs and spices described in the menu. The mixed grill was good and the meats well cooked and tasty.Overall I'll go back but with a bunch of friends.

We were excited to visit after it had been recommended to us. The setting was lovely, we had soup to start the mixed seafood was ok but over cooked, the lentil had a good taste but compared with mine the bowl looked half empty. Then the mains arrived which looked delicious until I tried to cut the calamar but it was so tough and hard with no taste at all. I kept biting into walnut shells which didn't help the aubergine dish didn't taste as if it had been freshly prepared apart from the accompanying salad. Service was lacking, I even had to ask for serviettes, and when I complained they argued back justifying everything. Never again.

The food has been totally bastardized and in fact the menu seemed exactly the same as Tas restaurant. I wouldn`t have gone to this restaurant had I known this. They need to stop trying to be a fast food venue with proper restaurant prices and start serving good quality authentic food.

It doesn't look much from the outside but it's value all the way when you are in! I don't know what he'll do when the station is finished, there's a constant stream of blokes from there. Banging breakfast and excellent value, just what you want when you see what most hotels offer these days. Spot on caff.
