Etto in Doncaster

Esperó 30 minutos para 2 bocadillos tostados - solo para que el camarero le dijera que si hubiéramos puesto el número en el borde de la mesa en lugar de en el medio, habría sido capaz de verlo más fácil. Luego procedió a inclinarse sobre nuestra comida para demostrar dicha colocación del número, para que lo supiéramos para ‘la próxima vez’. No me disculpo por la espera prolongada. Mi marido y yo estábamos verdaderamente sin palabras y no hace falta decir que no va a volver.

Me horrorizó que me sirvieran un bollo de salchicha y huevo, sin guarnición y mi pareja un sándwich con papas fritas poco cocinadas y de nuevo sin guarnición a precios ridículos. Un vaso de agua tibia Luke. Fuimos a Gregg's para una mejor elección, buen café y MUCHO más barato. Mejor relación calidad-precio en Gregg's.

Una experiencia verdaderamente terrible. He trabajado en la industria de catering así que entiendo las presiones. Dicho esto, no hay excusa para servir comida tibia mal presentada y demasiado cara dado el tamaño de la porción. Lo evitaré en el futuro.

Fantástico café, gran selección de pasteles. El servicio a la orden es bastante lento, pero es un ambiente agradable, así que no te importa tanto. Muy buenas porciones y deliciosa comida

Terrible servicio. Hemos estado aquí un par de veces La comida es preciosa, el personal también. El servicio de mostrador es horrible. Sólo una persona. Cola de 10 minutos por lo menos para ordenar y solo 3 personas delante de mí. Tenía café y quería otro, pero se fue a usar Costa debido a la longitud de la cola en el mostrador y el tiempo que tomaría para ser servido.

On a day out to Doncaster Lakeside/Shopping Centre we stopped here for lunch as had Izzy the black Labrador with us. Service was quick clearing a table for us as they were very busy. We both had a chicken and bacon salad and it was lovely. Comfortable seating and friendly service. We asked if we could have a bowl of water for the dog and the young waitress came straight back with one. Definitely recommend.

I asked for a sausage sandwich , it was disgusting Sausage was burnt black sent it back when it came back to me I asked the lady if it was the same one as it was the same as the one I sent back she took that back and a while later she returned with another sandwich and asked if that was ok I said still over cooked but it will do I eat it but did not enjoy it Asked if I would go back there not on your life

Must have caught them on an off day. We have visited previously with no issues. This time was totally different. Asked for gluten free for one of our party. The young lady huffed and puffed in response and went to check. Came back to confirm they could She proceeded to take the rest of the order with minimal interaction. Did feel as if we were an inconvenience. The food arrived but was not exactly hot. Despite ordering GF we are not convinced they managed to provide the sandwich with no cross contamination, since the coeliac member of our party was soon very ill with all the symptoms of being glutened. This was the only place food and drink was consumed on the day, so could not have happened anywhere else. It won't be a risk we will take again

The tea and coffee is excellent, and at a good price; I will come here again. They also have a large selection of buns and cakes.

The coffee, cake and food is ok I just can't be doing with the miserable main cashier. 2nd visit in a month, I hoped the first experience was a one off, no , same employee, same bad attitude. Rather than ask me what I would like I was just stared at until I spoke and then just received monosyllabic answers. Poor

This cafe at Lakeside was a pleasant surprise. Only had drinks but the cakes and and pastries looked gorgeous. Staff were friendly. It was really busy most of the tables were full. Chatty snd Buzzy. Will return.

Slow, slow and slower.. Keep hoping this place will improve as the Lakeside shopping outlet is desperately in need for a decent coffee shop. Sadly, this is not the case with Etto.. The service is very slow.. the barista's are very slow and therefore the wait for hot drinks backs up.. if they actually spent more time making tea and coffee rather than chatting and joking, maybe the customers would get served quicker.. but maybe customers aren't that important. Cups and spoons are often dirty, tables aren't cleared until they're piled up. This needs some proper management to actually engage with these issues, as the current setup is letting this opportunity down.

The café was very busy when we got there. We found a table and they came and cleaned it straight away. There was plenty of choice on the menu. We all managed to get something that we liked. The price was good. The drinks came with in three minutes and the food was with us within 15 minutes. The staff were very helpful and polite

It is very difficult to find options when your gluten free, this place had many. Very thankful to the helpful staff and good food

Love this place. The food is all freshly cooked and presented beautifully. The staff are polite, helpful and very hardworking. Portion sizes are good and food is always hot. Plenty of choice on menu as there is with cakes and pastries and usually a couple of specials. Special mention to Laura who always makes us welcome. Keep doing what you are doing x

We have been going to Etto since it opened and usually we have a great experience- but something has happened in the last few months which means that the usual good service is really below par and most unfriendly. We’ve gone in a couple of times for ice cream this summer and you have to queue at the main till and then someone reluctantly takes you over to the ice cream section and serves you an ice cream. This whole process takes ages. Today we went in and there was a lady taking orders behind the ice cream counter! Great- we thought- no queuing! However she was busy replacing the ice cream and then two members of staff came out- a small woman in a red top and a young man who both focused on replacing ice cream too. Three people to change some ice cream. We waited and waited and no one even glance up to acknowledge us. We waited more and then the small woman walked off - the other woman walked off and the man just carried on ignoring us. My wife said to me “are we invisible?” The young man carried on scraping a tiny bit of ice cream into a pot - still no acknowledgment. We waited more and a bit more and then finally decided to walk out - it was only then that the man said “I’m just trying to do this at the same time.” We just left. Sad - as we have been die hard Etto fans since it opened but the management need to be reading these reviews and sort out their staff and have a word about customer service. The woman in the red top- if you are a manager- I hope you will take these reviews on board and acknowledge your customers.

We normally have a great experience at Etto in Doncaster's Lakeside Outlet Centre but on this occasion it fell short of our expectations. It was a hot sunny Friday when we arrived and the tables outside were moderately occupied. Inside it was near empty so we had no trouble finding a table. One thing we immediately noted was that all of the staff that we usually see there were absent so we assumed they had all decided to take the Friday off at the same time. When I went to the counter to order it became apparent that the manager was the only member of staff allowed to take orders and operate the till. Two baristas were diligently working away making the long line of orders of coffees and teas but unfortunately the people ahead of me in the queue wanted ice cream. I say unfortunately because this took the manager away to the front of the cafe leaving the queue waiting. The baristas were clearly unable to take orders. So I waited. On her return there was no "Sorry to keep you waiting" from the manager which didn't sit well. I ordered our meals and teas and took my number plaque. Judging the speed of the baristas I didn't hold out much hope of the drinks arriving quickly but I was actually wrong and they were swiftly delivered. Now there was another problem, my teacup had what looked like lipstick on it. I returned to the counter and asked the manager for a fresh, clean cup. There was no apology just a perfunctory "Thank you" when I handed her the soiled cup. Again not good customer service. Normally the service at Etto is good but there was an overwhelming feeling of stress coming from the manager (normally there are two but seemingly just the one this time). It was a disappointing experience but we will no doubt visit again to see if things pick up. Hopefully it was just an off day.

Very poor food. Jacket potato with cheese. Totally tasteless. Coleslaw might as well have been just mayo. Cheese and ham toastie dry. Vanilla slice which did not taste like one. Don’t bother. Service ok. Yea abd coffee yes. But food no.

We were actually looking for Thorntons when we found this cafe, which I believe has taken over the Thornton site. However, we weren't disappointed. We really enjoyed the hot chocolates that we had here. We had a chocolate orange hot chocolate and a salted caramel hot chocolate. They also do a minty hot chocolate. This selection was unusual in itself as I have never seen this choice elsewhere. We asked for large ones and they come in large wide cups, as opposed to mugs served elsewhere. The slight downside of this is that it takes a lot of spray cream to cover them so you have possibly as much cream as there is drink! Despite this, we will still be tempted to go here again the next time we are at Lakeside. They also have a very large selection of tempting cakes and an interesting food menu.

I visit Etto on a regular basis and have generally been very satisfied with all I've ordered. Today I ordered coffee and a bacon sandwich, I had finished my coffee some 22 minutes later and still my sandwich had not arrived. I made my way back to the counter ( I have a walking stick to aid walking), to ask about my order, to be told they were having issues( there were very few customers in today!) I returned to my outside seat, the bacon sandwich duly arrived, but cold! I complained to the waiter who took it away. He came out a little later and said they could make a fresh sandwich OR get my money back, I said " my money back", he came back some time later to say I would have to make my way back to the counter, despite my difficulty in mobility! I had to wait for the manager to refund my costs. A very unsatisfactory customer outcome I afraid ETTO. Receipt #68 (11.20) & #87 (11.54)

I really like this cafe, food is lovely, staff are friendly, it's light and airy. The age group is average middle age + which suits me fine. Food does take a while to come out, so you've finished your drink before it arrives, but it's fresh and hot. I have only given 4* as tables are not cleared. On my last visit, people had to pile dirty dishes onto other tables. Staff walked past tables full of dirty dishes numerous times without clearing them. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned while o srood with our food in my hand. But this will not stop me from visiting

Usually love coming to Etto when at Lakeside, great tea, victoria sandwich and carrot cake this week although expensive, but thoroughly dissapointed with the £4.60 milkshake in a small disposible cup with 75% milk with a scoop of icecreal and 25% froth. Will never purchase this again! Will return as otherwise very good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly polite staff.
