Essence Of India in Dudley

We decided to try the restaurant a few months ago, food is superb, the room is comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. We don’t go anywhere else now for Indian food. Can recommend highly. Mervyn, Bev, Chris and Rick

Went for my husband birthday at the restaurant..it was my first time eating Indian food, went with the recommendation from the guy who took our order and we loved every food..the chef made our food spicy as well based on requests, will definitely be going back

We have been visiting this restaurant for years. There is never a variation in the quality of the food and the service given. Always helpful. Advice on selections is forthcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else around this area for an Indian meal. Large or small our party is always cared for.

A pleasure to dine at the Essence of India as usual! The food is always fresh and piping hot. It is our favourite Indian cuisine and it is topped by the wonderful service and smiles from the staff. We will continue to visit in the future!

Wednesday 4 course menu. Essence of India is my favourite Indian restaurant. Excellent value for money, generous portions, welcoming staff and beautiful food. The poppadoms are always fresh and crispy, and the pickles and sauces are delicious. I had the lamb bhuna this evening and the lamb is always beautiful and tender, not fatty or tough at all. I always enjoy the coffee and fresh pouring cream at the end of the meal. For £12 you get a starter, main and side each and a coffee. The poppadoms are a little extra but not much and totally worth it. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Thanks again for a lovely meal and evening.

I recently dined at Essence of India and felt compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, the rudeness of the staff overshadowed the tasty food. It was evident that they were judging us before even taking our orders, which made us feel unwelcome. I believe providing training on hospitality and customer service could greatly enhance the restaurant's reputation

Walking down the street you'd be unable to tell because of the humble exterior but this place is actually great. The food is fantastic, the staff is very polite and helpful and the atmosphere is nice and cosy.

Lovely meal, first time here and I am the ultimate balti connoisseur - this is one of the nicest baltis I have ever had! Prawn balti gorgeous , naan lovely as well as egg fried rice. We booked a table as it was a Saturday night and glad we did. It's BYO drinks, or you can purchase from them. Lovely service, polite and helpful. Sizzling king prawns were spot on, and Chicken Jalfrezi was hot and spicy, as it should be. Good fresh peshwari naan, dry veg curry and basmati rice were all great. Really enjoyed it and will definitely return. Booking advisable.

Staying at the Merry Hill Copthorne hotel we, as we often do when travelling,decided a local non chain restaurant would be our preferred choice for our evening meal. Essence of India, less than 10 minutes well lit walk from the hotel, lived up to its Trip Advisor rating. Great personal service was coupled with delicious food served piping hot. The mixed starter platter for two was followed by an “apna” curry that had a real depth of flavour, not just hot, but with real complex depth. The South Indian Garlic Chilli lived up to its name with toasted garlic clearly distinguishable in the sauce. Would not hesitate to return if we lived more locally and very happy to recommend to other travellers.

What can I say..amazing food and delivery. Food came hot as if it had just come out the kitchen. The flavours was to die for. I will be ordering the deluxe mixed grill again. Thanks chef!!

Just had a curry delivery, came within a good time , but curry was so watery I had to drain it down the sink , was also a chicken madrass and I've had hotter onion rings than that , the chips were basically all crispy (not very nice ) , on the other hand the naan , rice and poppadoms were nice but let's face it , can't really mess them up can you ! .
