Erbil Restaurant in Mendip

Great find in middle of Fringe madness! Stopped by on off-chance of table. Baba ganoush starter was great, served with naan bread,. Main was very tender long-cooked lamb on bone served with tomato/vegetable sauce, rice and (another) naan. All very fresh tasting, seemed to be plenty of vegetarian choices. No alcohol served but you can BYOB.

Good range of foodstuffs available. Sharwarmas were packed with meat or felafels. Falafels were a bit dry. Lots of salad with the orders. Overall good.

I ordered a Turkish coffee and a chicken shawarma wrap. The waitress was lovely but the food and coffee took 40mins to get to me and I am not quite sure why it took so long. The waitress did apologise for this, however. The chicken wrap was large and tasty, lots of moist chicken, nice crunchy naan though It was rather oily. The salad was just some fresh veg which was fine.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Fantastic value as the portions were huge. Friendly and courteous staff. Would recommend

A great restaurant with some wonderful food. The staff were helpful and friendly. The decor whilst being a little basic should not deter you from giving this unsong gem a try.

Just a bunch of time wasters, angry is an understatement, I ordered my food at quarter to 9, I call at 10 and the woman informs me they are closed and cancelled a few orders due to the time, I’m glad the order was cancelled in hindsight as apparently the food is as bad as the work ethic so guck these guys and their sweaty food 💯

Poor quality food , smell very bad couldn't finish the meal. Your food used to be great but this time not good.

Ordered through Just Eat and restaurant cancelled order just before it was due to arrive. No explanation. Very poor.

Awful!!! Ordered a delivery for 6pm. It didn’t arrive, so I called the restaurant to ask why. I got a really aggressive guy on the phone. He started telling me he’d tried calling me “10, 20 times”, despite me having no missed calls. He said they couldn’t deliver as the address I’d given was incomplete - I pointed out he could’ve actually called and resolved the issue easily. I told him I have a new baby at home, and his response was to yell, “oh, f*ck off!” and slam the phone down! I’m absolutely appalled at this hideous behaviour, and certainly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely loved food and service! Was carry out but phoned at 1700 and asked for delivery at 1930. Arrived on the dot!

Great place to eat, excellent service, very nice staff well done you all, I will definitely go back again.

We visited here as part of a flying family visit to Edinburgh. Can't praise it enough. Wonderful service, amazing food, impeccably clean. If you love middle Eastern dishes served with love and a smile then look no further.

Love this place! Always delicious fresh food served here. My fav dish is lamb on the bone with rice and okra sauce mmm! I recommend this place to everyone thank you Erbil

Visited with family. Very friendly owner previously had a Nawroz restaurant. The best lamb in Edinburgh. Tip: B.Y.O.B Highly recommended and will defiantly come back!

We regularly eat at Erbil restaurant and day by day gets better and better, delicious food and excellent service. we enjoyed so much whenever we visited We definitely recommended and we will go back.
