Epirus Greek Restaurant in Wirral

We were celebrating my birthday, there were 6 adults & 2 children. Food was only warm, not hot (I had chicken). I had an upset tummy & couldn't stay off the toilet hrs later. The girl who waited on our table was rude. We had to keep asking for drinks and sauces. I felt like we were a burden even though we were customers. When we came to pay the bill, they wouldn't let us pay separately & wanted the bill paid in full by one person. There was 2 tables upstairs with customers & we were one of them, so they were not busy. I would not recommend this place, they need new staff or the staff need to be retrained. Total experience 4/10 & im being generous.

Excellent food and great friendly service.

First time here. Good menu. Generous portions of hot food. Staff attentive and service good. We went on a Monday at 3pm which is probably between busier settings. No problem recommending. P Sharp

This has got to be the best Greek Restaurant I've visited in the UK. The Meze is amazing, and can feed 3 people, and I'm greedy! Lovely food and great service. Very friendly. I'm working nearby and travel up from Leicester, and I will be visiting this place everything I'm up there. Much better than Premier Inn food and not actually much more expensive, but so worth it! Also worth noting, it's fine to dine alone in there and not feel silly! Some places can be intimidating to walk into on your own, this place isn't one of them! Give it a try 👍🏻

Lovely food, cooked very well and tasted amazing. The chips here are unreal! Very friendly and helpful staff, customer service was great! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Food was very good but the Mezze was enormous for 2 people. Service was excellent. Atmosphere scores 3 as there weren't many in that night, so it would be unfair to judge on that. A nice meal in pleasant surroundings.

This Greek restuarant has an excellent menu of choice.Service is brilliant along with the food served hot and full of flavour.

Where is a go-to for my wife's birthday? Her choice, Epirus, and again it was flawless! The food was delicious as always and the waitress was totally on point all night. Food and service could not be faulted and the meat platter with dips and bread definitely a winner. Excellent as always. Hats off to a very well run restaurant!!

Really tasty food, good portions and great value - £15.90 for 2 courses and 2 for 1 drinks. We'll definitely be back. 5 of us had 2 courses each and 16 drinks for under £150.

First visit - food and service where brillant

We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and took advantage of the two courses for £15 and it was exceedingly good valve. No small portions infact too much if anything. The food was enjoyable I had chicken in a garlic sauce which very very enjoyable. We were sat upstairs which was comfortable and warm. We were well looked after and the staff were pleasant and efficient, so yes, we'll be going back.

Could not fault this place at all! The service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was absolutely gorgeous, the portions were huge and the price is so reasonable. I can't wait to go back here. We've even booked in for Christmas day too.

Well, we took my wife's Nan and Grandad here tonight for food. From walking in till we were leaving, the staff were great and very friendly. The service was brilliant we couldnt ask for more. The food was out of this world,it was cooked to perfection and the portions were huge. Every bit of the food was spectacular. The 4 of us had a 3 course meal, 2 bottles of wine and 2 big bottles of lager plus a few soft drinks in between. The price was great value for your money. We had that much of a great experience we've now booked in for Christmas Day. Can't wait to go back. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome!!!!

Nice little find. First time visiting here, and it wasn't a disappointment. It was a fairly quiet evening, and we week last to leave at 9pm (was a Tuesday evening). Food options are plentiful, and I opted for chicken. In feta and spinach sauce with rice. It was lovely, just a tad salty for me, but still enjoyable. If being picky, I would've preferred less rice and more salad, but that's just me . I opted for the menu 2 courses for £15.90 which was good value for money

Honestly starters came out great, mains were absolutely dreadful, tasteless and the most awful quality meat. Our plates were given back full, told the waitress very politely did not really enjoy it and she laughed. Still handed the full bill of £140, felt robbed for a dreadful bit of tasteless garlic sauce and frozen then reheated gristly chicken. They say it’s high quality meat but reviews and experience say otherwise. Overpriced and rude staff

Very disappointed with tonight's experience. I didn't get my starter and the food wasn't as nice as usual. Only one clean plate on the table. Don't think I'll go there again. Expensive disappointment.

Awful experience. This is not a Greek restaurant, the food is not authentic and is a very poor attempt to replicate Greek food. I ordered Moussaka and I was served a slab of solidified stodge which was cold in the middle which I immediately sent back. I could not bring myself to order anything else having seen my friends Kleftikos arrive. They were served nothing more than a lamb shank cooked in a tin of cheap chopped tomatoes, all you could taste was chopped tomatoes. The stuffed vine leaves were tasteless soggy mush and the hummus was the texture of crunchy peanut butter with too much oil. Huge chunks of halloumi served which had simply been flashed under a grill on either side. Save your money and make sure if you go Greek that it is an authentic Greek restaurant. Having been served rubbish food my friend was insulted by a Romanian girl associated with the restaurant who was sitting behind us eating and drinking, she suggested to my friend that another of our party was her son and that she had done a "very good job" in other words she was coming on to a member of our party. My friend was very insulted and upset. There was no apology and no reduction offered by the management

Great food. A party of 5 adults tasted a range of the dishes (chicken,lamb,steak and swordfish) and everyone enjoyed it. Generous portion but still 5 clean plates. Great service from waiting staff. Will definitely return here.

Food really excellent. Was quite noisy though - music (which was good) was loud and so people spoke loudly to be heard. The fact it is so busy speaks volumes for the food quality

Generally okay, the service was poor had to ask multiple times for drinks, extra menus, no one checked if our food was okay too. The food was average large portion however would prefer quality over quantity.

Extensive Greek menu and great value for money and big portions!. A large venue which can hold large parties/gatherings Highly recommend it!

Amazing, freshly cooked food. Generous helping. Don't eat for 12 hours prior to your visit or bring a large doggy bag. Lol.

The best food around I really enjoyed our last visit would definitely recommend to anyone who asks and the staff are happy to help we had a little hiccup with one of our Appetisers but I thought it was handled really well, definitely will he back again

Very good food and service one of the best places we have been to in Liverpool area! Read a couple of the reviews and not sure I see some of issues that the negative reviews show. It was very good. My only issue was there was not loads of parking in their carpark.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful team running it. Our group felt that the food was unnecessarily overcooked. Lamb chops were dark and dry. Sea Bass was brown and dry. I'd go back for the atmosphere alone, with my fingers crossed for a different chef being on duty.

I feel quite let down about the quality of the food I had here. The 'chicken' soup was super salty and had 2 measly pieces of chicken in it and my main meal was absolutely horrific. Incredibly greasy chips that were not even part of my order? And minimal vegetables. ' SWORD FISH STEAK Fresh sword fish steak charcoal grilled served with steamed vegetables'. I'm truly baffled how this could have been served.

We went on a Saturday and, although busy, the service was good. We ordered food which we thought would suit our tastes (olives side, 2 starters - chicken keftedes and dolmades, main courses with sauces) and they were pleasant but not really special and portions too large. We did get a doggy bag, however. Tasty but not really special, maybe we're just not that keen on Greek food

So here it went : The staff are amazing. However after being notified of two 15 minutes delays of food, we were asked 4 times if we are ready to eat. Is that some kind of physical and metal preparation or distraction from fact we already were waiting over an hour of having seated there. Anyway, so when we were served the meal, the houmous tasted like as if the kitchen chief was using the houmous container as his Ash tray, but when we asked for another one, we were told to choose somethingelse as that the way they always made it. So going beyond that point, we ordered one meal for one person which has starters and a main meal of chicken that meant to be £17.50. So to clarify the proportion of the ordered meal, we asked the waitress if both plates are for 1 person and she replied "yes that's for one person, shared plates". By the time we eaten and came to paying the bill, we were charged for two x2 the £17.50. Why is that? Well it's for the restaurant to plug it in the receipt after making us wait for an hour and half for a meal that barely lasted 15 to 20 minutes!!!. What's more radiculous is that, the men toilet doesn't even have a lock! Go figure how that would work for customers!!! Thirdly they advertise a variety of drinks that they DO NOT EVEN SERVE. Crossing a drink of their restaurants menu seems a hassle for the restaurant, nevermind charging for food that wasn't even served. KEEP AN EYE ON THE RECEIPT FOLKS! Nevermind the fact that they fill their drinks with almost half ice and other half whatever drink it is to avoid filling the glass properly. Not sure if that's greediness or you get what you pay for? Not sure! Better pay your money worth somewhere else with more accessible facilities and service!

Absolutely love this place. Food was fantastic, staff were lovely, service was great. I only remembered a week later that we didn't get our deposit back and they were amazing. No quibble at all... What a wonderful professional way to deal with customers. We will definitely be back. Only improvement I would make would be to put Gyros back on the menu 😊🥰

Food very nice staff pleasant and helpful

Mushrooms in wine and cream sauce were tasteless and vastly under seasoned. More like a thin soup with button mushrooms floating in it. Yuk!

I loved the food andcustomer service in this restaurant and I underestimated the portion size as well. The salmon was tender and tasty and the kebabs were delicious. My stomach was completely filled with the starter -chicken soup with cheesy garlicky bread, which is to die for.At the end, I had to pack all my food to take it back home.

Worst meal ever, toughest pork kebab, knife would not cut through this disgusting meat, and burnt all over. It was not good quality pork, more like shoulder pork, disgusting coleslaw, tasteless. I did complain, and then was presented with the full bill. Looks good from the outside, and excellent decor inside Shame about the quality of the food.

We went here for my sisters 40th after being told about it by friends. Our meal was lovely. 2 of us had the meze and my mum had the steak. Every part of the meals were fantastic. There was so much food we took a takeaway home that my children stripped bare in minutes. The house white wine was lovely. The staff were really lovely and we never felt rushed. The prices for what we got are really good value as there is no scrimping on the quality of the meat or portion size! Really looking forward to going again in the future. My sister lives in the heart of Manchester and eats out a lot but she said it is one of the best meals she has had. Thank you all for a great evening.

First time here for my girlfriends 29th birthday and I can happily say it blew our expectations out of the water. We were in and out in an hour but didn’t feel rushed at all, all the staff were friendly and all had smiles on there faces. We had the halloumi cheese which was to die for and the garlic bread with cheese for starters and then onto mains I had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce which just melted in my mouth and my misses had the mixed kebab. The portions are more than satisfying and overall can say this experience was worth every penny. Thank you so much for the amazing food.

Went for a family meal on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were lovely - really attentive, without being intrusive. The food was delicious, and the portions were HUGE! My husband and mother in law barely put a dent in their Moussaka, but we were able to take home what was left. The small greek salad was enough for 3 of us! I had Kleftiko, which was also delicious, and my son had Keftedes as a starter and Pork Souvlaki for a main, which he said was really tasty. I would highly recommend Epirus. The prices are really reasonable, and I noticed they also do cocktails for £5.95, which is great value.

Absolutely delicious food, we had a mixture of starters which we all shared the Greek, salad, feta filo parcel with honey, calamari, tzatziki, dalmades and were all lovely, are main meals the pork souvlaki and the koto bacon were lovely and the portion sizes was rather large, one of my kids had chicken nuggets which were not the best very dry. Service was very fast. All in all would highly recommend

First visit. Staff great and service excellent. Food portions large, salad unbelievable. Could not fault anything about the meal. Not being a drinker, the cost of alcohol seemed OTT, a bottle of San Miguel £5.00, a glass of soda water £2.00. But I suppose it is what it is. Nice touch didn't finish meal given a box to take left overs home. Will go back again. Well worth five star.

The food was excellent though I found the portions rather large. It's a very friendly place with a lovely warm feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again.
