The staff and quality of food lived up to reputation especially seeing there were 12 of us on a Saturday evening and they were very busy. Great atmosphere, quality food and will return.

Very good atmosphere and friendly staff + kids pizzas were great. Didn't particularly like the fact they add 12% service charge automatically and prices on the bill were more expensive than the menu (we were given an old menu apparently). Also one dish wasn't as listed on the menu, didn't get told and still charged full price. They said "sorry we ran out"! 🙄

The food was lovely, the service was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly. The restaurant felt very well presented, the tables were well set and everything was clean. The toilets- which often say a lot about an establishment- were extremely well presented and absolutely spotless. 3 of us ate at lunchtime with mains, sides and deserts (although without alcohol). The bill was £85 which seems pretty much fair value in today's world. Definitely recommended and would return.

My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday on the way home from a day out. We were warmly greeted and instantly felt at home there. The menu has plenty to offer. It really feels like an authentic Italian restaurant. The decor is beautiful and fits the way the staff treat you. I had the prawns for starters, steak for mains and Creme brûlée for dessert. All washed down with a lovely red. A wonderful experience. Please go try it for yourself.

We dined here last night and had a lovely experience. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to our toddler. She absolutely loved her pasta and gobbled it all up. We enjoyed our food very much too and we hope to come back one day. Thanks for having us 😊

Very nice. We had a complete tour of the menu: appetizers, main, dessert, wine - and liked every single thing. We will not be back soon, but when we are back in New Forest for another vacation this will be a dinner for us. Note that the restaurant is closed in the afternoon and reopens at 5 every day, opposed to what Google shows at the moment.

Staying near by we visited Dolce Vita twice during the week we there. Carlo was a great host, the food presented had an authentic Italian “famalia” style, we especially enjoyed the affogato dessert. Even the wine selection was impressive and reasonable. I would recommend Dolce Vita as a deserving five stars.

Had a lovely meal this evening. The service was as good as I have ever witnessed. Exceptional. We shared anti pasti then had pasta and pizza. Portion sizes were very generous and the quality was exceptional. We will be back regularly.

Arrived at just after 5pm on a Saturday and luckily they could squeeze us in, so be sure to book if coming later! Food was lovely and service efficient and friendly.

Reviews are accurate. Excellent portions, good price and great service we received. I rarely order a bolognese outside of home but they have nailed it. The scallop special was really good too. Would definitely come back

We went for an authentic pizza and we were not disappointed! There were plenty of pasta options too. The service was great, prompt and friendly but not rushed in any way. We sacrificed starters because we wanted to try the dessert menu and, again, not disappointed! We will absolutely go again, but possibly a little later than 7pm when it was very noisy, but settled down quite soon after that. I totally recommend!

Had a meal here on Tuesday evening and it was delicious! I had garlic bread and spaghetti bolognaise and my partner had minestrone soup and tagliatelle with prawns. I also had tiramisu. It’s run by authentic Italians and they are friendly and welcoming. I cannot recommend enough.

Super lovely food and lovely service! They managed to seat us late on a Sunday (9.15pm) and still treated us so well. Yummy food and good vibe! 10/10 recommend

Staff were initally friendly enough, but after ordering we waited ages for our meals. When they arrived both had been made as calzone, when one should have been a flat pizza. Staff apologised and offered to remake the pizza order, but as we were starving by this stage we agreed to accept the mistake. When both calzones were opened they were all plain dough and no topping on one side and the other side had barely any topping and what it had was completely tasteless. Not the full calzone you would expect from a decent Italian restaurant. Would not recommend or return.

If you’re in the area, you need to book up and dine 👍. You will not be disappointed with your meal. Enough dishes so everyone is accounted for, and a clean and friendly environment also. The main man is very helpful, and although he was always busy, takes the time to interact and ensure you’re happy. Sorry no photos, food didn’t last thot long

Third visit to the New Forest . Visited Dolce Vita as was on the top of our sons and our list to visit for a meal. Very good menu, varied choice cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend if you are in Lyndhurst

We ate here tonight totally unplanned and it turned out to be the best meal we’ve had since being in the New Forest! The food is fresh, tasty and seasoned to perfection and the service is friendly and attentive. A lovely atmosphere. Would recommend the Tagliatelle Gamberetti & the Spaghetti Carbonara, with a creamy lemon sorbet to finish! Thank you.

Lovely little family rum restaurant in Lynhurst. Reasonable prices for food and the quality was super. Loved that any pizza could be made as calzone. I had this and it was as good as I've had anywhere. I thought the alcoholic drinks were up at the more expensive side which was a wee bit disappointing. Overall we would thoroughly recommend this for a meal out.

Excellent meal, great decor and service by Giacomo. Carlo is a great chef. An old school Italian, not that many around anymore.

We decided to try Dolce Vita for a change and it did not disappoint! We had the Calamari and Stuffed Funghi Ripieni to start, followed by the Scaloppine alla Crema and the Linguine Gamberetti E Broccoli, which was the star of the show with loads of prawns and fresh tenderstem broccoli and little kick of Chilli! 😋 We also shared a Tiramissu which rounded the meal off perfectly. Food was all cooked fresh and was delicious, and Staff were friendly and very attentive. Lovely little restaurant and will most certainly return to sample some more culinary delights at reasonable prices!

Booked at lunch time for the Friday evening, so a last minute booking. Owner/manager very obliging. Restaurant was busy but all the staff were polite and helpful. Food was first rate. Would definitely book again when back in the area

We stopped by on our way to Southampton and they gave us a table straight away without booking. The service is great and the food is tasty.

Had to wait an extra 5 mins which was fine but received completely undercooked food. Two pizzas and chips, none were even close to cooked and had to be put in the oven for 5 mins at home to finish cooking. Very poor, particularly for the price. Won't be going back. The staff were friendly in the restaurant.

I turned up unannounced at the restaurant this evening and they found a table for me despite a busy looking diary on the front of house desk. I’m from an Italian family but honestly they served me the best spaghetti carbonara I can remember ever having, an excellent glass of house red to compliment the pasta. Me & my partner went for a meal recently whilst staying in Lyndhurst. We were treated very well by the staff, great service & fantastic food. Would also say great value for money and good portion sizes. If near the area again would love to call in again. Recommended.

Food was ready literally five minutes after ordering. Piping hot, fresh, tasty and perfect portion sizes. Fantastic customer service on arrival too. Very highly recommend and will be returning as often as possible!

We were staying in Lyndhurst as a family group to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. I picked this restaurant, as it was within easy walking distance of where we were staying & when I telephoned to make the booking, they were very friendly & helpful. When we arrived at 7pm the restaurant was full (Easter Saturday), but our table was all ready. There was a bit of a mix up with drinks, but was all put right. Orders were taken for starters & main for 10 of us) Gain, there was a little bit of a mix up wit( the starters, with only half of them arriving, but the rest came soon after with many apologies. Food was good & reasonably priced. We were all offered a lemon cello to finish the meal.

Dolce Vita is certainly an "italianised" restaurant for the UK market. Stuck in the 80s, with its surrounding and the menu items. The calamari as a starter were slightly chewy and the scallops didn't need the mushroom sauce. The biggest disappointment was the pizza, the base was more like a focaccia and I am not sure the base was made fresh. In Italy, all pizzeria have the oven as open view to the guests, but there was no sign of the oven in the restaurant I also found it very upsetting the waitress was waiting behind us when paying and the credit card machine had 15% - 18% and 20% as option for the service, and we felt overlooked and pushed to choose 15% as option for the service where a 10% would have been plenty and actually too much!

Highly recommend. From start to finish it was all perfect. We had my fiancés birthday meal here last night and it was incredible. The staff were amazing - So warm, welcoming & accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. The decor and general ambiance were both spot on . The food was absolutely incredible - I went for the spaghetti carbonara but opted to change the spaghetti for tagliatelle and also added in some chicken (everything made fresh to order so you could swap pasta type / add in / adapt anything you wanted ) It was the best pasta dish I’ve ever had ! 10/10. We both went for the tiramisu for dessert which was nicely presented and was also delicious. Would 100% return when / if next in the area.

Came for an evening meal for my birthday with couple of friends. Front of house waiter greeted us pleasantly & gave us a choice of 2 different tables. He chatted to us gave us the menus & left us while we got settled. When he came to take our order he also checked who had the shellfish allergy. I was impressed with this as I'd mentioned that as a comment when I booked online. I ordered Penne Salmone which was really tasty & piping hot. The other mains were also good. We all had tirimasu for dessert & as it was my birthday he popped a candle in mine & sang 'happy birthday'. We finished with coffees. Hubby & I had Amaretto coffees which were excellent. Lovely atmosphere, excellent food & service - definitely recommend x

I booked this restaurant last Saturday evening as it looked the ideal cosy venue for a surprise get together for my wife with some local friends that we hadn't seen for a while. So glad that I did as the Italian food was lovely, enjoyed by all of us, the vibrant atmosphere added to the evening and although very busy, the friendly staff were always on hand checking that were happy with everything. The restaurant is small, stylishly decorated and the staff were very welcoming. I would certainly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to visit again the next time that I'm in the area. Meet up with our best friends here for lunch , a lovely warm welcome and drinks and starters , our main meals of prawns and pasta with chilli was spot on and a great portion, can't wait yo return to this little gem of a restaurant 😋

We stopped by on our way to Bournemouth as I had driven for a few hours and needed a rest and something to eat. Even though we hadn't booked we were found a table. The wood was well cooked, well presented and very tasty. We weren't kept waiting for service or our food. I very welcome stop off. I hope to return when I can sample a lot more of the menu.

Really lovely Italian restaurant and amazing quality food. Quiet when we arrived which did impact the atmosphere a bit but this did not ruin what was a lovely meal and evening. The chef was able to adapt my meal which I really appreciated. Although food did take a bit of time to arrive you could definitely tell the food was made freshly and to order which made the wait worth it.

Food so good we booked for the following night while paying for the meal, friendly staff, amazing food and a great atmosphere. If we return to the area then we'll be sure to book again

Lovely little restaurant, we went on a monday night, there was plenty of space with only 4 other tables being filled. The waitress kept us standing at the entrance for several minutes whilst she was dealing with a table, although she caught our glance, she didn't at all indicate or sign she was aware of us and would be over in a minute so felt awkward just standing there. Other than that, the service was OK , she didn't ask if we wanted any more drinks when delivering food and wasn't as attentive as I would have appreciated, so only 3 stars for customer service. However, what saved the review was the food! OMG, the calamari fritte was by far the best calamari I have ever tasted, in previous meals out at other restaurants i have found it normally it comes over fried and tasteless, this though was full of flavour, cooked to perfection and came with the nicest tartar sauce. My wife had the garlic bread (which I may have stole a slice) and was crisp and flavoured to perfection. We both went for pizzas for main, we both were very impressed with them, tasted like true Italian pizza. The base had the perfect crisp to it, not all soggy etc, the toppings were plentiful and flavoursome, I had the meat house special, and it hit the spot with the perfect amount of heat. If we are in the New Forest again we would certainly visit this restaurant again!

Really nice restaurant with an intimate feel. The calamari was lovely & fresh and the pasta well seasoned-my husband had the pasta carbona & I had penne amatricanna. It was quiet as it was a Monday night but I would recommend booking if going at the weekend or nearer to Christmas.

Wanted to try somewhere different. Visited on a Monday night. Food was brilliant - real authentic Italian. Chef (owner?) came out a number of times to check food was good. Decor and finishing inside was fresh and welcoming. Was quiet so only one waitress working front of house, service was efficient, but think she was stressed and wasn’t particularly welcoming.

Went for dinner to Dolce Vita with friends and the whole dining experience was wonderful. From the warm welcome, to the lovely ambience of the restaurant and then the delicious food. Its a varied menu and every person in our party of 6 loved their chosen dish. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant when you visit Lyndhurst or the surrounding area.
