What an experience and I can understand why so many people love eating here No frills you get what you are given and the place has a calm buzz The starter is lettuce with an excellent dressing and bread . The one choice you have is how your steak is cooked The steak is delicious with proper fries with a sauce which takes it to a different level . Once you’ve eaten that you are served another whole portion It won’t be for everyone but we loved it

Defiantly worth a visit. Set menu. But they are good at what they do. Steak and chips are very good and the sauce great. Fantastic value for the money. Staff are efficient and friendly, place is run like a well oiled machine. It’s a very much in and out experience. Don’t expect to sit there all afternoon or evening. Get there for opening time or be prepared to queue, sometimes well over an hour. We would defiantly go again and will, but we wouldn’t queue longer than half an hour.

Fantastic service, food and value - this was a pre theatre dinner at 6pm. Not too long before the cafe closed. I definitely found a gem here. Thank you.

Our steak was cold, fries were greasy and the sauce was watery. But the worst part was how the staff treated me when i came back for a beanie i left right after stepping out of the door. They acted like this is not their business and the manager was very rude about it. After observing them not doing anything for 3-4 minutes, it took me 10 seconds to ask the gentleman who was sitting where our table was to pull his chair so i could pick my beanie from under the table.

They have a set menu serving the same meal since forever. Steak and ships. Starting off with a Salad. I usually hate salads but this is quite nice. The meal goes well with some nice red wine. The desserts are plentiful and good too. Definitely recommend. Visited the branch in Paris and was equally good

Sat down with a group of friends who had been here before. Friends steak was a bit too rare so asked for it to be a bit more done and sent back. 2nd round came round all good for 3 of us. Friend then asked for his second round having sent back all of this food and was told he’d already had it. The Waitress handled this badly The manager was extremely rude and defensive and adamant about charging us full price. Never ever going back Made us pay full price for a meal we didn’t get Terrible terrible management and service Do not recommend

This place is one of the best choices for dinner in london. I really like their salad too, but the meat and the sauce are the best parts of the meal.

No booking,no menu as such,first course is lettuce salad with secret sauce,bread no butter,sliced steak with chips,and secret sauce,half steak and the other half after finishing the first half,don’t dare ask for ketchup,you get the look of death.dessert with a hair in it,received new dessert and not charged for it,a great concept,good service food not bad-would return.

Been going to L'entrecote for many years with my family and friends and the menu is exactly the same and still the BEST! The only choice you need make is how you want your steak cooked and which wine! Starter walnut salad and bread is simple as is the steak and fries with special sauce but it tastes SO good- especially their fries smothered in sauce, in fact writing about it is making me hungry!! A must for any occasion with the simple French brasserie decor and the obligatory queue (you can't book) perfect for date night or family get togethers unless your veggies of course!

This is the best steak frites outside of Paris. It is worth the queue, worth the price and worth the wait! Don't expect five star service and enjoy the two generous portions and french bread. Their own house red wine is great and the desserts are also delicious.

It's simple. Do one dish really well and people will queue to get in. L'entrecote with their sauce i.e. enough. Just avoid the busy time as your will have to queue. That speaks for itself. Have loved the recipe for years in London, Paris, & Geneva over the last three decades but this is good.

No podía soportar la idea de hacer cola en París, probamos el Londres de un domingo por la tarde. Se abren las puertas a las 6:30 y nos han dicho que tenemos que llegar temprano porque una vez en línea están llenos tendrá que esperar para que todo el mundo termine sus comidas! No había necesidad de ir temprano como a las 6:30 todavía había mesas disponibles.

Bistec perfectamente cocinado con una salsa estupenda y normalmente soy un poco quisquilloso con la salsa... Precioso vino y gran valor volveremos la próxima semana!

Got lead to our table by a nice waiter with big welcoming smile - she came to explain the menu (there is no menu just one type of stake and salad ) you can chose how you want your meat (I was like that's it !!!) anyway they have a salad (I didn't like it honestly) the stake wasn't bad and it served with chips; when we almost done they gave us the rest of our meat and chips .

So simply amazing even the salad is dreamy! Yum I want more now! The setting is lovely and I like the French waitresses, it adds a genuine French feel to the place

Queuing for steak frites!?! Are you crazy?!? The place was absolutely packed, so it had to be good right? It was! Quick, cheap and whole lot of fun! Delicious green salad to start, followed by a delicious steak and bottomless french fries. Simple yet delicious. Coupled with the house red - wonderful night out.

There was a queue when we arrived which moved very quickly. The only choices you make are how you like your steak cooked and what you want to drink. The house red was filthy. The salad starter was basic but tasty. The steak was good. The sauce was delicious. It ended up being about £75 for 2 people for 2 courses with the house wine which was perhaps a bit steep for what you got.

The best steakhouse there is. Basic simple French appearance but the steak (and the green sauce!!) were something else. I spent most of the meal fruitlessly trying to figure out what was in the sauce (to be able to recreate it at home) - it was that good. My description doesn't do it justice - go and try it!!!The only downside (for her) is that my friend is vegetarian! She had a walnut salad and cheese plate!! I would eat there every day if it was closer to home.

Had no idea what to expect but was taken as part of a group who had been before. The fact that no menu's were given and the only real choice seemed to be either red or white wine actually added to the surprise! Waldorf salad followed by steak and chips in a really great gravy/sauce along with the house red it was a very tasty meal and really good value. Setting is a large scale dining room with lots of buzz. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something slightly different in London.

An odd one if you walk in not knowing what to expect. A rather regimented place with a famous set menu. The old fashioned, Parisian dining room feel and slightly arrogant assumption that you should know what to expect really rather adds to the fun and character of the place. The staff are friendly and even though it was my first time there and I did spend the first couple of minutes wondering where the menu was, I soon settled in and was glad someone had made the decision for me. Starts with a salad drenched in peppery dressing which I must admit made me feel a little sick, but it's soon forgotten when your main course (the real star of the show) arrives...You are asked how you want your steak - I went medium, and it comes over with a mountain of fries and famous Entrecote sauce which is to die for. They then continue to pile your plate high with beautifully cooked steak, sauce and fries until your portion runs out - by which time, unless you really are a big eater, you will be stuffed. Not cheap - but well worth it for the experience. Not many places you find a little place like this outside of Paris itself. Would definitely go again

Strange one this. The overall experience was better than the sum of its parts.Steak wasn't great (even the waitress refused to acknowledge it was quality - she was French); fries were little underdone and the Waldorf salad a touch vinegary.The waitress had no sense of humour and kept trying to take our plates away too soon.However, there was something enticing about the whole experience. Atmosphere was congenial, wine was decent and there was plenty of food. The format is typically French in doing one set menu but somehow all the average parts put together made me want to come again!

The entrecôte was tasty but the fries were greasy and unsatisfactory on both portions. The service seems to be sluggish when it comes to the second portion, which you have to ask as they seem to be ignoring it if you don't remind them. Two children are considered one portion, which is good but if you're a table of 6 including two children you have to order a separate order of salad as two children are counted as one. Very unusual calculations. They don't even ask if you want dessert..

Yes, it only serves one meal but that's its proposition and purpose so I don't think it's a flaw- you go for that meal. It's a really nice experience and the food is excellent- the service is also really flawless. Would absolutely recommend- also if you go be sure to get a desert!

Be warned this restaurant only does one meal. It's great but I cannot give 5 stars for a place with limited choice. Still well worth it.

I visited twice the first visit I wasn't impressed the sauce tasted sour and way too buttery unlike its usual taste as I was comparing it to the PARIS one in rue marbeuf off the champs élysées. My recent experience was very good and I enjoyed the meal as it's supposed to be. Great cozy & intimate place.

I've eaten in the canary wharf branch plenty of times. The steak is well cooked and fries and nice and crispy. I love the sauce they use and it is the real special thing about the dish. Well priced and service is generally fine.

I was first introduced to this place in 2013 for my Birthday, to be honest my first thought was "what the hell am I doing here" but after tasting the meat I was in heaven! It is now my favourite place to have stake and I have visited the Paris branch too, the food is the same and just as yummy. If you are a lover of stake try this place. You will not regret it, I promise.

I still wonder what makes this concept so popular. I first met it in Paris many years ago, and it has now several restaurants in London too. But it is all the same - a plain menu where only the desert gives you some choice!To start you get a green salad with walnuts and then comes the entrecote with fries and a special sauce, that is presumed to be the secret o f the kitchen. It is all OK, but not more and it is not especially cheap. There is a special desert menu – popular things that makes no harm!Wine card is quite limited.The service is quick based on nice young ladies from abroad. Their option seems to be to get you through the meal as fast as possible, so that no customers waiting can get your table.When you add that prices are not a bargain, I am still surprised what makes the obvious success to this chain.

Locale affollato e rumoroso, ma l'atmosfera è calda e simpatica.Non c'è il menu, solo carne e patatine. L'unica cosa che si può scegliere sono il vino e il dolce.Il personale è molto cortese.Consigliato se si ha voglia di entrecote.

Well if you dont care about visiting a nice restaurant and enjoying in a relaxed way the food and athmosphere then you might find it great! Otherwise, it is still a very good choice for a quick lunch or dinner. The cafe de paris steak & fries are delicious. Thats all you will eat as well as a nice Salad. It can get very busy at certain times so try to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your desired time of dining.

Wouldn't quite call it steak as the meat is sliced very thin and covered in sauce/gravey. That being said it is very good. Also have some nice fairly priced red wines on the menu to wash it down with. If you are in the area worth a try.

I have eaten here many times, and they never fail to disappoint me!There is no menu , just said and steak and fries ! If you are looking for anything else dont bother coming as this is all that they do.The green secret sauce is amazingly good! This is what you will be craving a few days after you have been! Don't eat all your fries save some for the end, its nice to eat them with the sauce at the end after you have eaten your steak!you might have to wait outside as they do not take reservations , however it is worth the wait!!

been to a couple of entrecote restaurants and enjoyed the one in london just as much. Basically when you feel like steak and chips you can't beat it - but if you want something else then go elsewhere as thats all on the menu. Have had to queue on occasions but the service is quick and the wait isn't long.

There is no menu. Just Great steak cooked very well (order rare), a perfectly nice little salad and a bucket load of chips, with their special sauce. Red wine is available but only one kind, luckily its a perfect accompaniment to steak. Got there at 6.30pm but still had to queue for 30 minutes, and when we left the queue was round the building..

Tramite suggerimento di un collega siamo andati in questo ristorante. Abbiamo preso la formula a 20 sterline che comprendeva insalata, tagliata con salsa verde e patatine. La tagliata era molto buona (compreso il bis) e le patatine preparate al momento. Forse un pò rumoroso. Consigliato

What more could you want after a couple of after work drinks in the city. Yes there is only on thing on the menu but it's SO good. At £25 per head including a great wine you can't go wrong.

We liked the food, french brasserie style, at a good price. Very sensible wine list. It is not fancy or exquisite, but it is honest and comfortable.

Entrecote Cafe has a new restaurant in Canary Wharf modeled on the same successful formula as their other locations. If you like French cooking go. REMEMBER the only food on the menu is steak and frites. But oh, the simple things are the best and the meal is just lovely. You choose a wine from a simple list of affordable Bordeaux's and off you go. First course salad and bread with a mustard vinegar dressing. Main course steak cooked to your liking and french fries. The steak is smothered in a house sauce. I recommend you add the spicy mustard, on the table in a jar, to the sauce and wa la, you have a unique hollandaise that isn't egg based. Delicious. Could it get better? Well if you finish your plate they come by and give you seconds. There are desserts and you get to choose those if you like. I think Julia Childs would have loved this place. So in summary: fantastic, simple, delicious and easy. Go, this French formula is superb.

I am a true follower of this restaurant. Normally visit the one in Paris and London. To my surprise that my last visit in London last Monday was a total mistake. Manage to be there before 6pm so not qeue however was ver dissapointed to aee that the portions are getting smaller and the prices are the same. The worst is that the manager confirm that the portions are smaller and that i had o share my feedback. The cherry in the cake was to see the dessert. 3 mini profiteroles in a small plate. It is a real shame.... You would not get that in a 3 michelin star restaurant. Very dissapointed with my last experience and wondering..... Should i ever come back?????

Set menu with steak as the main with secret sauce which is delicious. You pay for what you get and you also get some galic flare from the waitress. Great value
